Tumblr media
Excerpt: “But Trump is unique among presidents in expressing outright adoration for despots and authoritarians—not because they can benefit American interests despite their cruelty, but because, whatever impact they may have on American interests, these leaders have the virtue of being cruel. As Henry Hill says of the gangster Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas, Trump is ‘the kind of guy who root[s] for the bad guys in the movies.’
“As president, Trump realized his ambitions to befriend tyrants, praising North Korea’s Kim Jong Un (‘great strength economically’), Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (‘he’s doing a very good job’), China’s Xi Jinping (‘a very, very good man’), and, of course, Russia’s Vladimir Putin (‘very smart’). He saved his insults for NATO and countries like Denmark. During his post-presidency, and now in his campaign to become president again this November, Trump has continued gushing about leaders who expend copious resources repressing the basic freedoms of their peoples. He has brandished their endorsements as qualifications for his reelection. In December, Trump said of Kim Jong Un: ‘He’s not so fond of this [Biden] administration, but he’s fond of me.’ He was implying that voters should value the exceptional level of approval that he receives from someone overseeing maybe the world’s worst totalitarian state.”

Same old same old.
Tumblr media
August 12, 2024
There's a reason Donald Trump has been out of the public eye lately and holding fewer rallies. He's home moping. Last week, at Temple University's Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris introduced her running mate, Minnesota governor Tim Walz, to a wildly ecstatic, packed-to-the-rafters crowd estimated at 14,000. While a month before, that same venue was half-empty for a Donald Trump rally. And those who did show up were about as excited as the MAGAs pictured above.
The reason is Trump has literally nothing new to offer his voters. All he's able to give them lately is the same whining about the "stolen" 2020 election. The same bragging about his imaginary accomplishments as president. The same mendacious immigration fear mongering. And the same, tired nicknames — only now attached to different enemies. Rather than Crooked Hillary, it's Crooked Joe Biden. Crazy Kamala instead of Crazy Nancy Pelosi. Low IQ Harris replacing Low IQ Maxine Waters. And so on and on.
Not only is he incapable of coming up with fresh material, his routine on the campaign trail has become nothing more than tedious, worn-out shtick. Attendees at any of his campaign events can count on hearing Trump perform his hackneyed set list:
• Dancing to "YMCA" like an idiot • Reading scripted remarks off a teleprompter (with accompanying mental glitches) • Complaining how everything's "unfair" • Complimenting Putin and/or Kim Jong-un • Repeating overtly racist slurs about Kamala Harris (while intentionally mispronouncing her name) • Attacking local Republican officials viewed as disloyal • Discussing "the late, great Hannibal Lecter"
No wonder he can't hold the attention, let alone the enthusiasm, of his audiences during what Politico describes as his "rambling, directionless" and "inescapably monotonous" 90-minute sermons. Wrote GQ Magazine reporter Luke Zaleski:
Trump doesn’t give speeches. He tells long fake stories that provide an alternate reality in which he’s the hero and allow his audience to conflate themselves with him as he pretends to vanquish imaginary enemies like “Sleepy Joe” “Crooked Hillary” “the Deep State” & “Fake News.”
During a Trump rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, last May, Aliya Schneider, a reporter with The Philadelphia Inquirer, posted videos showing many attendees leaving the rally. "Trump is still speaking," Schneider wrote. "But the crowd has been thinning. People have been walking out back to the boardwalk." Schneider also noted, "The back section of the crowd is noticeably smaller as people continue to leave while Trump is still speaking." Trump and his campaign, it seems, can be summed up in two words: Bore. Ring.

When I was about 14, in the wake of 9/11, everyone started going "ooooh, we're next, we're next," almost excitedly. Then, maybe even earlier than that, one of my English teachers had the brilliant (!) idea of having us read Brother In The Land, and watch When The Wind Blows. I have been shit-scared of nuclear armageddon ever since, the likes of Trump and Kim Jong-un haven't helped, and now Putin's at it.
I've seen Threads. I've seen Terminator 2. I've seen Barefoot Gen. Hell, I've seen the Godzilla films where he's a legitimate threat rather than a hero. I KNOW the fear, it has persistently haunted my nightmares for more than half my life, so shut the fuck up, Bob. Why do you smug fucking old people take every opportunity to take digs at us especially when it's not necessary? Why do you go out of your way to do it? We hate ourselves too. We are BROKEN AND EXHAUSTED, and here you are, trying to shatter us to dust going "I lived through it the first time, I know the real fear, you're all just entitled babies, me me me, I I I." Just stop already.

Happy Sunday ⛅️ This is a piece of art I'm really proud of. It's my most Cultural and Political piece🎨. No guidelines. No pencilwork. Just me vibing. It's called "The Wrath of Kali". I'm going to explain it to you💭.
If you don't know who Kali is, She is a Hindu Goddess known as a Mother and a Destroyer. She is a divine protector. She wears the heads of those she's liberated from.
I painted heads of those who live in our society in high status but commit horrendous monstrosities.
Those who are painted on her necklace are:
Donald Trump and Mike Pence~ Very self-explanatory why they made the list. They have fucked the entire world over, and the the value of money is proof. They protect white supremacist and their actions. They bombed a civilian airport and killed an Iranian hero. They let ICE put latinos in concentration camps with poor conditions, and separated them from their families.
Xi Jinping~ Deliberately spread Coronavirus to the entire world as biomechanical warfare. Also has created a dystopian society to control the Uighurs. They stripped them of their Islamic faith, and of their language & culture, and sometimes sterilizes the women
Vladimir Putin~ he's all the way evil. He only has one agenda, and that's to "destroy the west", even at the demise of his own people. He meddles in other wordly affairs, even the American Election. He is also seen to try intimidate people he sees as opponents with what they fear.
Kim Jong Un~ I painted him as quite the porker because he deserves to be called a porker. He looks like that while his people are starving to point the point of being living skeletons, and have to live by being cannibals.
Harvey Weinstein~ A known American film producer that has close ties with and funded the democratic party. He has sexually assaulted, abused, and raped dozens of women; rightfully earning his place on the painting.
These ppl are disgusting af‼️Do some research on them👩🏽‍💻
The message of the painting? FUCK EM 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽

When Miles Kwok talks about chicken investing, it’s always a load of crap
In recent days, Miles Kwok has gone on air, rambling as ever. Of course, bully brother’s disclosure focus has always been the world’s Hot News, dry dry day dry air, nature has not changed. At the same time, Guo Always Cheat Chicken series, Xi coin, crazy to encourage investors to buy buy, at the same time to expose the victims of fraud shouting three four, full of Ruffian, sick to. For the entertainment of the masses, but also to wake up dreamers, I do not put shallow, still want to make a detailed analysis, one by one, with you. The 300,000 troops trained by the United States and armed with american-style equipment collapsed in the face of more than 70,000 Taliban soldiers, even surrendering without firing a single shot, it is astonishing that President Gagny and other former officials have fled the country with so much money. Any hot spot in the world, and Miles Kwok’s sparks would start flying. A few days ago, Miles Kwok Ennui momentum came up, this guy said, a few decades ago to know a Taliban buddy, now the Taliban is the absolute boss, “His name I can not say now, will tell his comrades.”. Deja Vu, Miles Kwok has said and called countless names. No celebrity is unlikely to be a friend of Miles Kwok Miles Kwok, who is a member of the trump club and a friend of Donald Trump’s. Miles Kwok was Putin’s friend, and Putin went fishing with him. Miles Kwok was a friend of Kim Jong-un’s father Kim Jong Il, whom Kim Jong-un called uncle. Miles Kwok of India is a friend of the people of India. And, since it is the absolute boss of the Taliban, you melon, you can count on your fingers, also need to deceive brother you tell, pretend God ghost do. It was the first step in Miles Kwok’s apparent aim and intention to bluff his way through a crowd of ignorant comrades-in-arms. It wasn’t the wine that mattered, it was Miles Kwok, and after a long conversation, the point came Miles Kwok said, the absolute leader of the Taliban called him and told him to use the ten billion US dollars he had seized from the US army to buy Xi coins, i told him at that time no, I said that the share of investment in silver coins is left to comrades-in-arms, not to you? Since the Taliban member is a brother, and the ant version of the civil war friend is also a brother, the palm of the hand is all meat, give some share of the Taliban brothers why not ?!! Besides, since there are decades of friendship brother, now a rebuffed, Guo old bully without brotherhood? ? Besides, with ten billion US dollars at hand, Xiguo is using the money, why not accept it and include it in his name ?! The Ordinary Heroes, Miles Kwok’s wild imagination, or In order to capture, one must set loose, whetted the ants’appetites, so that they could jump into the hole they had dug. According to Miles Kwok, the coins went on sale on April 21, and the g coin has expired, but the question is whether the invested g coins will be converted into Xi coins or returned to investors, something that Miles Kwok has said nothing about, the implication is that the chicken coin is gone, brother bully kept it all for himself. Moreover, the US approved Xi coin is not available on the US Treasury Department’s official website at all, while Bitcoin is nowhere to be seen. Guo is a bully, wHO ARE YOU KIDDING! Once the comrades-in-arms found to be cheated, demanding a refund, cheating brother is a meal R, the rogue rogue is all over the screen. Now, Miles Kwok is threatening investors, “The United States has no jurisdiction over the G series, Class Action G, which is organized by the Chinese Communist Party.”. If American law enforcement agencies do not have jurisdiction over the chicken series, as Miles Kwok puts it, then why has the SEC pursued more than one GTV investigation since July 2020, why has the FBI followed up on Luther and Yan Limeng, why has the SEC ordered fines against GTV and Vog, and why small claims have made significant progress. When Miles Kwok swindled money, he was impassioned, and when he was asked for a refund, he was like a blackskin scoundrel. Don’t be fooled by Miles Kwok, The Road We Have Taken, but you can’t stop him. In short, whether it is chicken coins, silver coins or other chicken series, are people trick, no letter. Miles Kwok’s obsession with making up stories about clouds and fog is all about digging holes, and if you believe it, you’re about to walk into one. Now, there have been a lot of disillusioned investors to take up legal weapons, in accordance with the law debt collection. Summer of South Korea has received $10,000 in investment money, and Coco of Washington is suing Washington DC farmer bing. Predictably, with the judiciary breathing down his neck and many investors taking up legal arms, Miles Kwok’s paper tiger will be vulnerable after all. Guo’s inconsistent and self-contradictory statements are the manifestation of his extreme restlessness. The closer you get to the end of the day, the crazier the con man, the more obvious the bravado. In light of the situation, this is a dark moment before the Dawn, and it’s important for allies and investors to have a clear understanding of what’s going on, or it’s going to fall apart.

IF Joe Biden wins, and IF Donald Trump concedes, and IF there’s a peaceful transition of power, there’s going to be a corrupt bargain behind it.  The most likely scenarios are that Trump will pardon himself, or he’ll resign on January 20th at 11:59 and have Pence pardon him in his 1 minute in office.  Less likely but possible, Trump convinces Biden to pardon him as part of his “exit package.”  I’ll go quietly if you pardon me, I’ll go full nuclear if you don’t.  Even less likely than that, our friend Donny takes a page out of Snowden’s book*, and takes a permanent vacation to a country that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the United States.  It would almost certainly be daddy Putin’s Russia, but I wouldn’t rule out Saudi Arabia, North Korea, or maybe even China (the animosity between Trump and Xi is a joke, nothing but a dick measuring context between two authoritarian brinkmen; remember, in 2017 we thought Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un hated each other, until they didn’t.  He and Xi will reconcile when it suits them personally, mark my words).
These scenarios rely on a lot of ifs.  What I actually believe is gonna happen is that Trump will win the electoral college and lose the popular vote, again, and congressional Democrats will whine about it and do nothing all the way to January 20th.  They’ll probably keep the House, but that doesn’t mean anything anymore because their only real power was subpoenas, and Trump has decided that the president doesn’t have to obey them anymore; the real power comes from the Senate, which has to confirm any and all cabinet and judicial appointments, though this too is up in the air because if the Democrats tried to hold his appointments hostage like the Republicans did to Obama, Trump would just make recess appointments.  Or more likely than that, he would just continue writing executive orders to sidestep Congress, which would be legally binding until Congress or the Supreme Court overturned it.
I don’t see any universe where this man faces consequences for anything.  Even if Biden wins AND Trump gets charged for any number of his federal, state, or local crimes, he’ll never go to prison; no judge in the country is going to sentence a former president to anything but time served, a halfhearted slap on the wrist at best.  If a judge tried, Trump’s lawyers would appeal it all the way up to the Supreme Court, which would rule 6-3 in his favor, possibly even 7-2, or hell, it could be a unanimous ruling, because the liberal justices wouldn’t want to appear “political.”  They’d come up with some BS explanation about precedent or impropriety, something about “healing,” “moral fabric,” “retribution,” blah-dee-fucking-blah, acquittal, move onto the next case.
There are no legal means to “punish the bad guys,” and I definitely DON’T condone the use of, shall we say, “extralegal” means.  Besides, one person alone couldn’t change anything, it would take the organization and coordination of a large number of people in cities all over the country, fueled by the systemic injustice and divisive rhetoric that the bad guys use to remain in power.  Why, if such an undertaking were possible, I think we would have seen some signs of civil unrest this summer, signs that would only be amplified by the controversial outcome of another disproportional election (the third in 20 years).
Rome didn’t fall in a day.
*I want to be clear that I am not equating Edward Snowden with Donald Trump; Snowden is an American hero and Biden should issue him a full pardon if he becomes president, I’m just saying that Trump will probably have the same idea to leave American jurisdiction

OUR ORLANDO SENTINEL ENDORSEMENT FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020: NOT DONALD TRUMP
By Orlando Sentinel Editorial Board
June 18, 2019
Donald Trump is in Orlando to announce the kickoff of his re-election campaign.
We’re here to announce our endorsement for president in 2020, or, at least, who we’re not endorsing: Donald Trump.
Some readers will wonder how we could possibly eliminate a candidate so far before an election, and before knowing the identity of his opponent.
Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump.
After 2½ years we’ve seen enough.
Enough of the chaos, the division, the schoolyard insults, the self-aggrandizement, the corruption, and especially the lies.
So many lies — from white lies to whoppers — told out of ignorance, laziness, recklessness, expediency or opportunity.
Trump’s capacity for lying isn’t the surprise here, though the frequency is.
It’s the tolerance so many Americans have for it.
There was a time when even a single lie — a phony college degree, a bogus work history — would doom a politician’s career.
Not so for Trump, who claimed in 2017 that he lost the popular vote because millions of people voted illegally (they didn’t). In 2018 he said North Korea was no longer a nuclear threat (it is). And in 2019 he said windmills cause cancer (they don’t). Just last week he claimed the media fabricated unfavorable results from his campaign’s internal polling (it didn’t).
According to a Washington Post database, the president has tallied more than 10,000 lies since he took office.
Trump’s successful assault on truth is the great casualty of this presidency, followed closely by his war on decency.
Trump insults political opponents and national heroes alike with middle-school taunts. He demonstrates no capacity for empathy or remorse. He misuses his office to punish opponents, as when he recently called for a boycott of AT&T to get even with his least favorite media outlet, CNN. He tears down institutions, once airily suggesting the U.S. should try having a leader for life as China now allows. He seems incapable of learning a lesson, telling an ABC interviewer last week — just two months after Robert Mueller’s report on election interference was released — that he would accept dirt on an opponent from Russia or China.
Trump has diminished our standing in the world. He reneges on deals, attacks allies and embraces enemies.
This nation must never forget that humiliating public moment in Helsinki in 2018 when the president of the United States chose to accept Vladimir Putin’s denials of Russian interference in the 2016 election over the unanimous assessment of the American intelligence community.
Such a betrayal by a U.S. president would have been the unforgivable political sin in normal times.
As if that’s not enough, Trump declares his love for North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, a genuine villain who starves and enslaves his people and executes his enemies with antiaircraft guns and flamethrowers.
But he wrote the president a “beautiful letter.” Flattery will get you everywhere with this president, and that’s dangerous.
Domestically, the president’s signature issue — immigration — has moved in fits and starts. Happily, he abandoned pursuing an outright — and unconstitutional — ban on Muslims entering the U.S., opting instead to restrict travel for people from a handful of nations, most of them majority Muslim.
He’s tried separating families, sending troops to the border and declaring a national emergency. For all of that, illegal border crossings are, as the president himself calls it, at crisis levels.
He blames House Democrats because casting blame is Trump’s forte. But Republicans controlled the House and the Senate for two full years. That seemed like an ideal time to fix what the president believes ails our immigration laws.
Even with Democrats now controlling the House, where is Trump’s much-touted deal-making mojo, an attribute he campaigned on?
“But the economy!”
Yes, the market has done well since Trump’s election.
The S&P 500 was up about 21% between Trump’s inauguration and May 31 of his third year in office. Under President Obama, it was up about 56% in that same period.
Unemployment is headed down, as it was during seven straight years under Obama.
Wages are up, and that’s a welcome change. But GDP increases so far are no better than some periods under Obama. Deficit spending under Obama was far too high, in part because of the stimulus needed to dig out of the Great Recession. Under Trump, it’s still headed in the wrong direction, once again pushing $1 trillion even though the economy is healthy.
Trump seems to care nothing about the deficit and the national debt, which once breathed life into the Tea Party.
Through all of this, Trump’s base remains loyal. Sadly, the truest words Trump might ever have spoken was when he said he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose his supporters.
This non-endorsement isn’t defaulting to whomever the Democrats choose. This newspaper has a history of presidential appointments favoring Republicans starting in the mid-20th century. Except for Lyndon Johnson in 1964, the Sentinel backed Republican presidential nominees from 1952 through 2004, when we recommended John Kerry over another four years of George W. Bush.
As recently as 2012 we recommended Republican Mitt Romney because of what seemed at the time to be Obama’s failure to adequately manage the nation’s finances.
If — however unlikely — a Republican like Romney, now a senator from Utah, or former Ohio Gov. John Kasich successfully primaried the president, we would eagerly give them a look. Same if an independent candidate mounted a legitimate campaign.
We’d even consider backing Trump if, say, he found the proverbial cure for cancer or — about as likely — changed the essence of who he is (he won’t).
The nation must endure another 1½ years of Trump. But it needn’t suffer another four beyond that.
We can do better. We have to do better.

Trump never stopped running for president. On January 10, 2017, before his inauguration, his campaign paid $75,123.75 to continue renting space in Trump Tower. (In other words, donations to Trump’s campaign ended up in Trump’s pocket. What a surprise.) Trump filed an official statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission on the day of his inauguration, January 20. He held his first reelection campaign rally less than a month later, on February 18. And he aired his first 2020 campaign ad on May 1, 2017.
Trump’s “permanent campaign” strategy has enabled the Trump Organization to rake in over $1.5 million in money donated to the reelection. Highlights (through March of 2019) include:
Over $1 million ($450,000+ per year) for rent at Trump Tower in New York City
$69,300 for rent at Trump Plaza in New York ($3,850 per month)
$61,000 to “Trump Restaurants” for rent (originally $1,000 per month, currently up to $3,000 per month)
Another $17,500+ to Trump Restaurants for “facility rental/catering”
Over $325,000 for lodging at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
About another $60,000 or so for facility rental/catering at the Trump International in Washington
Over $17,500 for lodging/facility rental/catering at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada
Over $12,000 for facility rental/catering/meals at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey
Over $200,000 to the Trump Corporation for “consulting”
Even $1,750+ to the supposedly discontinued “Trump Ice LLC” (his failed bottled-water company) for “office supplies”
Nevertheless, today marks the first “official” day of Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign. He has chosen to hold his first “official” campaign rally in Orlando, Florida. Now, the Orlando Sentinel is generally right-leaning, and it has a decades-long history of favoring Republican presidential candidates:
“This newspaper has a history of presidential appointments favoring Republicans starting in the mid-20th century. Except for Lyndon Johnson in 1964, the Sentinel backed Republican presidential nominees from 1952 through 2004, when we recommended John Kerry over another four years of George W. Bush. As recently as 2012 we recommended Republican Mitt Romney because of what seemed at the time to be Obama’s failure to adequately manage the nation’s finances.”
The Sentinel has chosen this very day to announce its endorsement of...
...Literally Anyone Else in 2020.
“Some readers will wonder how we could possibly eliminate a candidate so far before an election, and before knowing the identity of his opponent.Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump. ...

Trump’s lies were different. They belonged to the postmodern era. They were assaults against not this or that fact, but reality itself. They spread beyond public policy to invade private life, clouding the mental faculties of everyone who had to breathe his air, dissolving the very distinction between truth and falsehood. Their purpose was never the conventional desire to conceal something shameful from the public. He was stunningly forthright about things that other presidents would have gone to great lengths to keep secret: his true feelings about Senator John McCain and other war heroes; his eagerness to get rid of disloyal underlings; his desire for law enforcement to protect his friends and hurt his enemies; his effort to extort a foreign leader for dirt on a political adversary; his affection for Kim Jong Un and admiration for Vladimir Putin; his positive view of white nationalists; his hostility toward racial and religious minorities; and his contempt for women. The most mendacious of Trump’s predecessors would have been careful to limit these thoughts to private recording systems. Trump spoke them openly, not because he couldn’t control his impulses, but intentionally, even systematically, in order to demolish the norms that would otherwise have constrained his power. To his supporters, his shamelessness became a badge of honesty and strength. They grasped the message that they, too, could say whatever they wanted without apology. To his opponents, fighting by the rules—even in as small a way as calling him “President Trump”—seemed like a sucker’s game. So the level of American political language was everywhere dragged down, leaving a gaping shame deficit.

Disgraceful Bias at ABC News
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), June 18, 2020.--When U.K.-born Oxford graduate James Goldston took over president of ABC News April10, 2014, the parent entity Walt Disney Company put an unapologetic leftist at the helm of the once respected news network.  Since taking over from Ben Sherwood, Goldston turned the network into an extension of the Democrat Party, pushing hard in 2016 to see 72-year-old former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton become president.  When that didn’t happen, Goldston did everything in his power to advance the Russian Hoax, branding 74-uyear-old President Donald Trump as a Russian asset, spending three years of programs supporting spurious reporting at the New York Times and Washington Post.  When the Russian Hoax to remove Trump from office blew up in the media’s face, ABC News spent every waking hour in its news and entertainment division bashing Trump.
Goldston had everything he wanted in Chief ABC News anchor 59-year-old Geroge Stephanopoulos, the former Communication Director of former President Bill Clinton.  Under Goldston ABC News key programs “Good Morning America,” “This Week” with George Stephaopoulos and “Late-Night” entertainment with 52-year-old Jimmy Kimmel.  Kimmel, competing with CBS “Late Show” with 56-year-old Stephen Colbert and NBC’s “Tonight Show” with 45-year-old Jimmy Fallon spend most of their monologues ripping Trump.  No one bashes Trump with more venom than Kimmel who’s been given his orders from Goldston to use his Nielson ratings, audience and show to rip Trump in his monologue.  Before the Trump era, late night shows were nonpartisan, mostly apolitical until major news network joined the “resistance.” aligning themselves with Democrats against Trump.
News networks aligned against Trump after the 2016 presidential election where Trump beat the odds, all the predictions from major news networks and newspapers that Hillary would win election.  Trump battled the heavily biased press in 2016, becoming even more vicious after he won the Nov. 4, 2016 election.  Major news networks and newspapers were thoroughly embarrassed after Trump’s victory, vowing to join the resistance to remove Trump from office one way or another.  Joining the Democrat and media resistance against Trump is 71-year-old former National Security Adviser John Bolton, one of the principle architects of former President George W. Bush’s Iraq War.  Mainstream media despised Bolton up till he was fired by Trump Sept 10, 2019.  Suddenly, Bolton’s become the media and Democrats’ new hero now that he’s turned  against Trump.
Bolton’s new book “The Room Where It Happened,” chronicles Bolton’s account of how Trump violated every ethical principle known to man, yet when he worked for Trump he said nothing.  Trump’s beef with Bolton involved his constant Neocon propensity to engage the U.S. military in every conflict from Palestine to North Korea. Trump gave Bolton the National Security job after a falling out with 58-year-old  H.R. McMaster April 9, 2018.  Bolton seemed like the logical choice, although he and Trump differed on the role of the U.S. military, especially in the Middle East.  Trump campaigned on a promise to end wasteful Mideast wars, becoming a big critic of the Iraq War. Trump antagonized the Bush family in the 2016 campaign voicing his opposition to the Iraq War and wasting U.S. blood-and-treasure on policing the world.  Bolton thought he knew best until he butted heads with Trump.
What’s so utterly disingenuous is Democrats and the media’s new love for Bolton, now that his new book slams Trump for just about everything.  Bolton says Democrats blew it with their impeachment trial, when Trump should have been impeached for far more egregious crimes, including underhanded deal-making with North Korea’s 36-year-old dictator Kim Jong-un and 67-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bolton contends Trump approved with China’s 67-year-old President Xi Jinping the use of concentration camps for China’s Muslim Uiughur population. ”There wasn’t any guiding principle that I was able to discern other than what’s good for Donald Trump’s reelection,” Bolton told ABC News Martha Raddatz.  Raddatz was given the green light from Goldston to, like Jimmy Kimmel, to go after Trump.  Raddatz wouldn’t give Bolton the time of day until now.
Trump’s overarching principle is to avoid wasteful military adventures like the Iraq War, or, more recently, former President Barack Obama’s eight-year proxy war against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Backed by Bolton, the Syrian proxy war killed more that 450 thousand Syrians, displacing 12 million refugees to Turkey and Europe.  Trump has no “principles” unlike Bolton who backed the Iraq War and Syrian proxy war costing the U.S. Treasury trillions of dollars.  Under Goldston, ABC’s all in milking Bolton’s propaganda for all its worth to help damage Trump’s credibility heading into the 2020 presidential election.  If Bolton had his way with Iran and North Korea, the U.S. would be in a nuclear war. Bolton has a lot of nerve questioning Trump’s “principles” when he’s a known warmonger.  ABC News should be ashamed of itself exploiting a has-been like Bolton to get back at Trump.

Shook
TUE JAN 28 2020
Adam Schiff appears to have been right yesterday, when he said the leak of the Bolton manuscript had blown a hole in the President’s defense, because today... the second full day of that defense in the Senate, they cut it unexpectedly short... at the end, yielding back seventeen full hours of the time which had been allotted to them by the rules.
I didn’t get a chance to see it, but from what I’ve heard, it was basically just arguing that John Bolton (former hero of the Bush Neocons, and revered by the Tea Party as well) can’t be trusted, because he’s a disgruntled former employee with a book to sell... followed by doubling down on the Dershowitz (criminal defense adviser for both OJ Simpson and Jeffrey Epstein) interpretation of impeachment which essentially says... Presidents can’t be impeached for anything, ever.
He admits that he didn’t used to think this about Clinton, and that today, no constitutional scholars agree with him... but he’s still right... because he thought about this matter a lot guys!  A lot!
They then ended with some talk about how impeachment is hell and just shouldn’t be done anymore ever again... and then some kind of video montage of Democratic Senators from December of 1998 talking about how that impeachment was a bad idea... before resting their case.
Apparently this final video montage drew some muted laughter from those in attendance... and much mockery on social media.
I mean, sure... the left has, for months, been playing old 1998 clips of Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell and even Dershowitz, to expose their hypocrisy in the present day... but that doesn’t quite work the other way, because the Clinton impeachment was founded on lying about a blow job.
I mean... If Lindsey Graham felt that lying about a blow job was not too minor a matter to impeach a president over... then surely he should feel that extorting a military ally who is in a war against Russia, to throw an election... would also be fair game.
On the other hand, if Jerry Nadler in 1998 thinks Clinton shouldn’t be removed from office for lying about a blow job... it does not at all, in any way follow, that he should also not want Trump removed for extorting a military ally who is in a war against Russia, to throw an election... and also obstruct the shit out of congressional oversight.
And to imply that the two things are somehow interchangeable... is not only insulting to even the intelligence of small children... but, laughable.
It was very much unlike the eloquent closing arguments of the prosecution last week, which went viral on social media, even as Congressman Schiff was begrudgingly congratulated by those on the right, for being so well spoken.
Later in the evening, news broke that McConnell does not, as of the time of writing, have the votes necessary to prevent witnesses from being called... something he sadly figured out during a meeting with his caucus after the defense had rested their case.
So is the needle shaking?  Yes... like the needle of a gauge on top of a pressure cooker that’s getting ready to blow.
The next phase of the trial is going to be a bunch of written questions from Senators for the prosecution and defense, which Chief Justice Roberts has requested they keep to questions that can be answered in like five minutes.
After that, then there will be votes to either conclude the trial, or move on to another phase of witness testimony, etc.... expected to happen on Saturday.
So, we still have three long days, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, for things to shift and change.
Maybe McConnell can manage to dial down the burner under that pressure cooker, and bring this whole thing to a conclusion on Saturday, with an acquittal of Trump, just two days before the State of the Union Address.
But McConnell doesn’t really have any control over that burner knob. The flame’s been cranked up by developments which are wholly outside of his control... the Parnas tapes, the Bolton manuscript, Trump himself issuing blunt threats against those involved... and three days is enough time for more damning developments to break.
It’s difficult to speculate about what’s going on in the minds of those GOP senators who aren’t yet willing to vote against witness testimony, but here are some things they should be thinking about...
1) Acquittal effectively destroys congressional oversight forever, over any future president... and in fact destroys impeachment itself as a remedy for a rogue president.
The only way that isn’t a terrible mistake, is if Trump remains president for life, much like Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Peng are now.  In other words... the goal of acquittal would be to deliberately nullify our democracy in favor of a dictatorship... now... when the dictator in question is of their own party.
Rather than being a far fetched conspiracy theory... this is in fact, exactly how democracies around the world have died many times in the past. It would simply be a case of history repeating itself, this time in America.  And thus, it’s almost a guarantee that at least some faction of the current Senate, is consciously striving for that outcome.
The problem, however is... for that to work, Trump needs to win in November... something that’s going to be a lot more difficult to do, even if he cheats his ass off, because the rest of the government, the press, and the public, are now on very high alert to the danger.
And if Trump doesn’t win... well, they just handed that dictatorship over to the enemy party.  So now they’re really fucked forever!
On the other hand, if they vote to remove Trump, but he does squeak it out to become the dictator... then they’re really fucked forever!
Such is the whirling dervish of second guessing that can arise, as soon as you even entertain the idea of departing from a common sense interpretation of the constitution... the one that you swear to defend upon taking office... the one you swear to defend when being an impeachment juror.
2) Looking bad to history isn’t just about being frowned upon long after your death anymore.  There are things called movies... many of which will be made about this insane chapter in our history... which will come out long before you’re dead.
What actor will play you, and will they be a villain?
Well, unless Emperor Trump for life cracks down on all media with an iron fist, imprisoning any producer who would dare to make anything but pro-regime propaganda... odds are, if you vote to acquit... you’ll be played by an ugly actor portraying you as the caricature of cowardice and closed minded idiocy.
Unless you’re Mitch McConnell... in which case it will be an ugly actor portraying you as the caricature of evil incarnate, hell bent on burning down American democracy from the inside, no matter what the cost.
3) Even if the above two items seem too outrageous to be worthy of consideration, I still fall back to my original point from several entries ago... that Trump is a loser.
Since he’s been in office, all the governors and congressmen he’s stumped for have lost their contests... in many cases to dark horse Democrats in regions that seemed solidly Red.
He was trounced in the mid-terms, losing the House in a blow out not seen since the last days of Nixon, and then... after Replacing Sessions with Barr as AG, and defeating the Mueller probe... still managed to get impeached on a completely different matter!
How will he screw up an acquittal?  Because he will... the day after he gets it.  And that’s gonna come back to haunt you on election night.
He is a third rate thug who got lucky in 2016.  He is still a third rate thug today, and his luck ran out a long time ago.  You’d be an idiot to back him now.
------
Again, like I’ve said before... eject this loser now, and the GOP has the whole rest of 2020 to rally around Pence, and talk about how it was sad, but Trump had to go, because he took it too far...  lost his way... lost sight of the good... wasn’t up to the stress because of health reasons and got a little bonkers... huh?
No matter how you dissect it, this does all boil down to a moment of reckoning for the Republican Party.  Either be swallowed whole by the extreme right, or eject them, by ejecting their chosen demagogue.
And by extreme right, I mean conspiracy theory loving, xenophobic, morons in favor of idiotic trade wars, ballooning deficits, anti-education, anti-environment, pro-Putin and other dictators, anti-NATO, and... in the final analysis... just plain anti-constitution, in everything it spells out and stands for.
Eject them and rebuild the party on it’s old foundations... or be ejected by them, and watch as they burn that grand old party to the ground, in the name of reactionary rage, and nothing more.
That seems like a good enough place to leave it tonight.
I’m going to bed.
