Most people agree that John should move on with his life, let go of Jamie and find happiness in a real relationship. But there are some takes on this subject that really piss me off.

I’m sorry but “oh I know John will never love someone like/more than he loves Jamie, but I really wish he could find a great guy and have a nice relationship with him!!” is not the good argument that you think it is.

That’s not getting over Jamie, that’s settling for second best. Well, he can’t have Jamie, poor thing! So he will have to take someone else who he won’t love as much as he loves Jamie but at least he will have someone to cuddle with at night 🥺

Why can’t John actually get over Jamie?? Why should he settle for the second best? Worse, why should his partner accept being the second choice??

I damn well don’t want John loving someone else like he loves Jamie because that shit is completely unhealthy imo, but I know that’s not what people mean.

Jamie being the superior god-like man that everyone is in love with/is attracted to/wants to fuck is kinda ridiculous imho, but I understand the appeal that a character like that has for the audience of a romance book/show. But to put Jamie so high up in a pedestal and to think that John should be forever in love with him and not ever get over him because oh lord nothing is comparable to King-of-Men-Jamie is… a choice.

Listen. I know that’s on Diana. She is the one who wrote John like this. But I wish people would be more critical of Diana’s writing of him instead of swallowing that shit up like it’s chocolate. Everyone knows how problematic the books can be regarding certain topics, this is just another one of these things.

Instead of accepting that John won’t ever get over Jamie/won’t ever love someone as much as he loves Jamie, you should be asking yourself: why is that Diana writes him like this? Why does she insist in the stereotypical cliché of the gay man having unrequited feelings for his straight best friend? Why can’t John truly move on and stop having romantic feelings for Jamie? Why should Jamie be John’s greatest love?

Outlander is essentially a romance (idgaf about what DG says). Love of all types is a running theme: not only romantic love, but the love that exists within family and friendship. And yes, there’s a lot of platonic/friendship kind of love between J/J.

But romantic love specifically has a huge role in this story. We have straight couples left and right in this series: Claire and Jamie, Bree and Roger, Fergus and Marsali, Ian and Rachel, Dottie and Denzell, Hal and Minnie, Jenny and Ian, hell, even Brian and Ellen are getting a spin-off.

So I’m sorry but it’s really freaking weird that, in the middle of all this, people say that John (the character with his own book series and one of the main POV characters in the main series, mind you) won’t ever be able to love someone like he loves Jamie, or more than he loves Jamie. It’s really freaking weird that people say that John has to settle with second best — because that’s essentially what’s being said every time someone says that John won’t ever love someone like he loves Jamie but he should find someone else to be in a relationship with anyway.

Listen, I’m not here to assume that the Seven MV took some inspiration from Jikook’s relationship, especially for one, Jungkook didn’t even write the song. WAHHH IM HONORED THAT MY SILLY POSTING HAS INSPIRED YA TO CHECK OUT YUGIOH!! ;w;

yugioh really is something truly special and an absolute blast to really dig into, but it IS a very big franchise.... forgive me for being a bit inexperienced at giving recommendations, but I shall do my best!! here's some pointers that I think could be helpful if ya wanna get into the show(s) (not getting into the mangas too much on this, for the sake of brevity LOL) (the spinoff mangas are fun reads, though!)

ok so the thing with yugioh is there are Eight Different 'Main' Yugioh Series (and a few little stray other series but we ain talkin bout those right now)--my recommendations are focusing on the first five series, since those the ones i've seen (though ive heard glowing reviews for VRAINS and Sevens and you could certainly go check either of those out if you wanted to! You don't really need to know anything about the plots of the other series to follow those stories)

as a yugioh fan i am of course obligated to recommend Duel Monsters as a starter. It's the OG, just absolute Yugioh at its most tried and true Yugioh, it Is that good, the dub and sub are both classics--but IF i am being my most honest true self, if my arc-v postin and zoneporia chattering have got ya ygo hooked then I would recc maybe taking a gander at one of the spinoff series first instead ;3

(In general what's cool about yugioh is you can basically pick up any of the series as your 'first' ygo experience to start with and have a great time with it! I know tons of people who've all started with different series/only are invested in 1-2 series,Theyre all made to be their own self-contained plots, and there's really something for everyone among 'em! you could honestly just read wiki blurbs on each series and go with whatever one sounds most interesting to you, and that's a fine start right there.) (though sometimes youll see characters from one series show up in another one, the Entire Storyline isnt Hinged on that--i.e. a bunch of alternate version GX/5D's/Zexal characters show up in ARC-V, but you dont need to have seen all those series to watch arc-v or follow its plot.) also idgaf what anyone says, the dubs are just as wonderful a watch as the subs are when it comes to ygos--you have to deal with some scene censorship or dialogue changes, but to me it doesn't really impede the experience. (in fact I almost want to recommend the dubs MORE for someone just starting to get into yugioh--it can be easier to follow the duels sometimes. AND a lot of the dubs are free on Youtube!!)

ANYWAY Z-one and Aporia are from Yugioh 5D's!! The, Last twenty episodes or so. Of 5D's. 🥴 <--the suffering nicherfaverrrr. So if you want to meet them properly you Do unfortunately have to be in for the long haul (i am of course biased and will say: Worth It.) 5D's is all around fantastic though; it has its slow spots, but the duels get crazy fun on those damn motorcycles, so even if you do buckle in for the All of It you'll have a good time--there are some chunks in the second half of the show that never got dubbed though (sad!) which is just something to keep in mind.

RE: Arc-V! since youve seen me tweetin about it, I will say, the first 50 episodes or so of it, that first season, does make for a really great crash course intro to yugioh and its worlds/how dueling works, since it touches upon all the main types of summoning as part of its plot, and talks about how they work. You get to learn about them as the characters do, which is really cool! My main hesitance from suggesting it 100% as a starter series is that it gets. fucking Bonkers. like characters from the other series showing up aside there is just So Much Going On in Arc-V At Any Given Point. IT CAN BE A BIT OVERWHELMING. AND APPARENTLY ITS ENDING IS. NOT VERY GOOD. which might not be very fun for a first time ygo experience 😭BUT BY ALL MEANS GIVE IT A WHIRL IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. I'm having fun with it at least, hehehe.

OK HONESTLY. HONESTLY. I think if I have one good recommendation to take away from all of this: watch Zexal. Zexal is a fantastic starter yugioh, I can't recommend giving it a go enough. Yuma as a protagonist starts out dogshit at the game and gets better over the course of the series, and that really helps the viewer follow along with the card game and start to understand it at a nice pace without getting confused over all the finer points of it. It does a really nice job of explaining how things work imo! It's also just, a gorgeous show. It's one of the most beautiful cartoons ive ever seen art direction wise. It's so kind and so fun and goes hard as hell and the characters are so full of love and personality. AND THE WHOLE DUB IS FREE ON YOUTUBE. BTW. BONUS.

THIS ENDED UP SO LONG SORRY tl;dr you can pretty much start with whatever yugioh sounds most interesting to you personally as your first series and you won't be missing any critical lore! Also Zexal is one of the best, consistently good and really easy to pick up. I think if you could only ever watch one yugioh make it that one.

also this is a less a recommendation and more just "little things about watching yugioh to keep in mind" but: don't let the card game aspect intimidate ya too much! the show really does it's best to explain how cards work and keeps it engaging; it's a show geared towards kids so of course it tries to keep things pretty easy to follow along, game-wise (also do not listen to the 'The Duels Arent Important' Crowd they are Wrong. yugioh is a sports anime but the sport is a card game. that's the crux of its storytelling. and it's genuinely really cool!!!) And if you're interested in giving the game itself a whirl, Duel Links is pretty beginner friendly imo!

I HOPE THATS AT LEAST SOMEWHAT HELPFUL the trials and tribulations of recommending where to start with a franchise that boasts some 1000+ episodes across 8 series is mighty but that should give ya some sort of idea!! whatever you end up going with I hope you have a ton of fun! YUGIOHHHH

levi - falling into the majority from the poll i have to agree that levi is my least fav king also lol. i get where he's coming from and why he acts the way he does, i just dont like how he's written? or ig moreso how he's written in the perspective of mc. tho tbh that's more of an mc issue than a levi issue, but i got pretty tired of the story constantly reminding us how pretty levi is (similar to how we always get reminded of how big mammon is/how huge mammons tits are). idk its like a gut feeling to not like/trust him. i also just don't really vibe w him in general even before we were actually introduced to him in main story. hes a good attacker gameplay-wise tho lol

This photo is from yesterday but we met up with this little girl and her mom again (third day in a row) and they love each other so much 😭🤍

We hung out with them all over Málaga for 5 hours! The girls were like let’s goooooooo and the mom and I were exhausted by the end lol

That was really nice though, I’ve never experienced that. Connecting with a mom and just being able to have a 5 hour conversation and not have it be awkward. She was very vulnerable, very open about her life. It was refreshing, because I’m like that too. Like… just lay it on me, idgaf about pleasantries, tell me all of the wonderful and terrible shit about you 😆

Her ex is the Cuban one, she’s Swiss and Italian. Honestly, her stories about him made me very grateful that I married outside of my culture. I know that’s not a great thing to say, but to meet a decent Cuban man that won’t cheat / take advantage of you in some way is … almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The machismo aspect really poisons the minds of men. Their inability to tap into their emotions and be honest with themselves, with others… ugh it’s sad. I truly only know a couple of Cuban dudes (and one is my brother) that I would trust to be an upstanding partner.

Cuban men (and more women than most other cultures) commit adultery and just… lie to their spouses and partners. This guy had a gambling addiction and the mom I’m hanging out with (M) is a successful influencer who makes a great salary from social media. Guess who “borrowed” money from her and never gave it back? Yeah.

I wish I could say differently, there’s lots of beautiful things about the Cuban culture, but the reverence for marriage / partnership ain’t one of them.

“MAKI. Wake up, The Great One wishes for you to report directly to him as soon as possible. Seems you’ve stumbled across something important.”

A soft and recognizable voice said, forcing the recently fallen Sorceangel to open her eyes, blinking rapidly in an attempt to adjust to the brightness of the all-white room she’d just spawned into. The source of the voice seemed to be peering over her form, in the form of a blob with stark white locks that was nearly recognizable. Suddenly, the ‘blob’ reached over her and slid something onto her face— her specialized glasses. Once she was able to see again, her vision stabilizing itself with the assistance of her glasses, she smiled faintly at the sight of her old friend, slowly sitting up on the bed to speak properly to him. The woman then sighed, stretching out her limbs with a groan of relief upon being in her original form.

“Yuta… I wasn’t expecting to see you so soon, but my mission was cut a tad bit shorter than I anticipated.” She said, shaking out the feathers of the small white wings that sprung from her back, feeling relaxed now that she was no longer constricted in her human vessel. Yuta covered his mouth with a finger to stifle his laugh, reaching up to affectionately ruffle her now-turned-white locks, smiling at her. “No need to fret. He looks down upon you with happiness, and you are one of his favorites, I’m sure he’ll promote you for what you’ve done so far.” Maki laughed along with him lowly, standing up from the bed to begin walking out of the Spawn Room, silently preparing herself to speak to The Great One. He was rather… intense.

“I can only hope so. Has anything changed since I’ve been gone?”

“Oh, nothing in particular. Rika was sent on a mission for learning about the newest human plague, Panda is roaming the mortal world, living out his days as a panda, ruling over them… I believe he’s in China, currently.”

“What about Toge..?”

“Ah, Toge recently got promoted to a Tier 4, which reminds me! You’ve made it right on time for the celebration and ceremony, The Great One knows how long it has been since we’ve seen a Tier 4, and we all know that is basically the end of promotions since… The last Tier 5 is currently locked away who knows where. I suppose it is not smart to speak of Her, especially after committing such an atrocious sin.” He whispered the last bit, knowing that speaking of Her would often make others uncomfortable or anxious.

The two Sorceangels left the building of Spawn Rooms and began to roam around, heading towards the humongous castle in the center of Heaven where The Great One would undoubtedly be residing, probably goofing around without a care in the world.

Maki shuddered at the thought, thinking of how the Demons have managed to seduce yet another innocent soul. And it was truly unfortunate that you were that soul. She wondered why they had chosen you as their target instead of someone else. As far as she could sense from being around your soul for so long was that you were a bundle of many, many different lives lived before you. Her original mission had been to observe all who appeared to have many lives attached to their current lives. She’d been doing it for as long as she could remember, moving around the mortal world, observing everyone who fit the description. Before she’d stumbled across you, she remembered that the most reincarnated soul she’d witnessed was one who’d been reincarnated over thirty times. He was an older man who was known for his wisdom around the neighborhood he lived in, Maki had disguised herself as an older version of her human vessel to get closer to him and soon befriended him.

One day, she had been sitting beside him on a park bench, feeding corn and grain to the ducks when she’d suddenly witnessed something she’d never seen before in all her millennia of creation.

A tiny human toddler… reincarnated over a thousand times, playing innocently on a play structure with a few other children.

Upon her discovery, Maki erased the memories of herself from the older man, just like she’d done before to the other’s she shadowed, and shrunk her vessel down to match your age at the time, slowly becoming closer and closer to you. As she did this, she found herself falling for you, platonically, you were truly her best friend, despite being merely a mortal. You were the one that helped her to discover the meaning of humanity, as well as what love felt like, something unheard of amongst the Sorceangel.

It’s not that they didn’t know what it was, they weren’t allowed to experience it, and if they did, they would end up having a solemn fate and become useless to Him.

After walking for a bit, the two of them moving side by side in a comfortable silence towards The Hall of Blues, occasionally waving at some familiar faces and exchanging a few words, they got closer and closer to the building. Before Maki knew it, she was led in front of a pair of large white wooden double doors with trimmings of turquoise and sapphire. Yuta smiled with his eyes at his old friend and bowed at her, fluttering his silver wings in her direction as a gesture of good luck and fortune. Then, he turned around, walking back down the hall that led them here. With a deep inhale, Maki rested her hands onto the handles of the hefty doors and pushed through them, revealing the grand room where The Great One liked to play.

After entering, she glanced around the spacious room until her eyes landed on Him. He appeared to be deeply concentrated on a mortal board game known as chest, currently partnered up against a Tier 4 Sorceangel who she recognized as one of her previous mentors, Kento. The two of them sat at a table, both comfortably seated in cushioned white seats that matched the look of the doors and the rest of the decorations in the room. Just like the rest of Heaven, it kept the theme of white, turquoise, and sapphire— it was frankly the most beautiful place in existence, as far as she knew. Everything was made with extravagance, crafted in the image of Him.

From Maki’s point of view, it seemed that her mentor was the one winning this round. The Great One’s six multicolored wings were fluffed and he was pouting like a frustrated child, brows knitted together in the middle of his forehead in a mode of concentration. Kento, on the other hand, was relaxed and calm, moving yet another chess piece across the board, knocking one of The Great One’s kings over to replace it with one of his own pieces.

“Ahhh!! How are you so good at this? Have you been studying outside of our sessions? How unfair!!!”

“No, Gojo. I have not been doing such things. Simply put, you’re just not very good at this game, unless you’ve been holding back on every single one of our matches.”

Maki shivered at the casual conversation, knowing the true extent of The Great One’s power and just how easily he could obliterate anyone he so desires, yet, he never even bat an eye when her mentor spoke to him in a such a way, instead, he would always laugh and ramble about how much he loved the Tier 4’s honesty and wished more were like him. That was untrue, no one else would ever be allowed to speak so casually to him the way Kento did, it was almost as if they had a special bond to each other, even deeper than companionship. In the midst of her thinking, she barely caught on when she was directly addressed.

“My dear junior, are you going to continue standing there like a statue or are you going to come over here and give me that report of yours?” The Great One announced, even with his back facing her as he continued the game of chess. Maki quickly cleared her throat and apologized, walking towards the table with her head bowed towards the both of them, not daring to look either of them in the eye out of respect. “My apologies, sir. I didn’t wish to interrupt your session, you both seem to be concentrating.”

The Great One chuckled. “Well, I am, but I don’t know about Kento, he always seems so bored when he’s beating me at my own creation. But!” He paused, leaning back in his cushioned chair to slap at his clothed thighs that was draped over with a silk white toga that covered his slightly muscular form, the edges made of embellished sapphire. He turned to Maki and smiled at her, his bright cerulean eyes boring into the depths of her soul, giving her his full attention. “What have you?”

His gaze always made her feel slightly on edge, causing her to promptly press her hands together, rubbing them gently together as she began to speak. “I have found the Demon Princes in the mortal world. They appear to be both connected to a mortal that’s been reincarnated thousands of times whom I’ve been observing named Y/N L/N. I found out after going to check up on them after not hearing from them in a couple of days. Upon my discovery… I attempted to seperate them, however, the older prince initiated combat with me and upon realizing that I could not win, I retreated. He hunted me down anyway and killed my mortal vessel, which led me here. Which reminds me— how am I awake..? Wouldn’t it usually take a few years to return back to this form..?” Maki recited but then found herself curious about the last bit, brows knitted together in the middle of her forehead as she looked at him expectedly.

Tier 1 Sorceangels, often used for small tasks involving many different things that directly entailed mortals, were provided with mortal vessels to use in order to roam unsuspected amongst the mortals. However, after their death in their vessel, it can take as long as a decade for their soul to return to their true form, but it only took a single day for Maki to be returned. Which proved a few things— this mission was something of a top priority for The Great One and the information she gained was important for him to learn. Of course, he saw everything that occured to the use of Maki’s eyes, but he didn’t mind listening to her verbal report, it was a good way to tell where her loyalty stood and as far as he could tell, she appeared to still be quite loyal to Him.

“No need to fret your pretty little head about that, Maki. You’ve done great work, that means you get a promotion! Isn’t that exciting?” He said rather excitedly after hearing her report, and then He snapped his fingers, causing Maki’s entire body to explode with light for just a moment before the energy making up her being recollected itself and she returned to her original form. Except, this time, her little white wings were now silver, signifying that she was officially a Tier 3, skipping over Tier 2 where her wings would have become bronze. And whereas her two smaller wings were smaller, providing limited travel time, her present wings were the same size as her entire height and there was a third wing now resting between her shoulder blades.

Immediately after being promoted, she dropped to one knee in a slight bow to pay her respects to him.

“Thank you, sir. I will wear my title with honor.”

“Ah ah ah. You shouldn’t thank me just yet, your mission is not over. I need you to go back to the mortal world and continue to surveillance the mortal and the princes. Tell me if anything changes or if you notice anything of importance.”

Maki nodded.

“Of course. I will do everything in my power to protect them from the wrath of the prince called Sukuna as well as the prince called Yuuji.”

Ah. One more thing.

“Well, about that—“ The Great One smiled sadly at his junior and snapped his fingers again, effectively erasing any fond memories she’s had with you, therefore erasing all and any memories of your established friendship (though you would still be able to remember). Soon, he watched as she became devoid of emotion in regards to her newest mission, turning her back into one of his perfect little dolls.

“It is unfortunate that I had to do that, but I have to make sure you remain loyal to everything we’ve built here, one little mortal should not cause you to succumb to mortal emotions, Maki. Now, can you repeat your mission back to me?”

“I will continue to surveil the mortal Y/N L/N, along with the Princes of Hell, awaiting further instructions from you, Great One.”

The Great One grinned, gently clasping his hands together in a giddy and childish manner, his eyes sparkling with mischief and deviousness.

“Fantastic. Go on then.”

Maki nodded and turned, heading out of the room with her hands tucked behind her back.

The Great One sighs in accomplishment as he gets more comfortable in his seat, almost forgetting the second presence who was still seated across from him, awaiting the game of Chess to continue. However, Kento appeared to have a few other ideas in mind.

“Pardon me for questioning you, Gojo, but, I’ve always been curious. Why do you torture the Prince of Hell? Haven’t you already stolen away hundreds of his Invisibilis Gustums before? Are your desires not satisfied yet?”

Throwing his head back to laugh, The Great One seemed to be tickled silly by the questions asked of him. Then, he recollected himself before he spoke again, almost as if he was talking about a loved hobby of his.

“Why not? Those heathens don’t deserve to be happy. Especially not after taking my sweet Yemema and corrupting her to the point where I had to lock her up for her own safety. Truthfully… they deserve to feel my pain. They will never make the same mistake again.”

Leaving The Hall of Blues, Maki was soon met by Yuta at the top of the steps that led to the front doors. He perked up slightly upon seeing her, his usual gentle smile gracing his face as greeted her yet again. “I see things have gone well for you, now we’re silverette twins.” He verbally observed, laughing faintly as his shoulders bounced. Maki offered her own smile and then opened her mouth to say something to him, but felt a slight throbbing pain in the front of her forehead, causing her to stagger and nearly fall down the last couple of steps. Fortunately, Yuta made haste and grabbed onto her arms to keep her from falling, assisting her down the rest of the steps as he looked at her in worry.

Maki looked up and quickly shook her head, using her other hand to wave dismissively as a means to get him to relax. “No no no. Nothing of the sort, I am just feeling… empty. Emptier than usual, I believe.” That causes him to rear back in surprise, giving her an expression that spoke many words, every one of them she understood. “That is how we are /supposed/ to feel, Maki. You know that we are not allowed the luxuries of experiencing true emotion. We are simply vessels made to serve Him…” He spoke, though his words sounded… sad. They were a stark contrast to his protective voice that had darkened just a few seconds prior when he inquired about The Great One potentially harming her.

Without a word, she nodded, allowing him to lead her along as she placed a hand on her forehead where the sudden painful throbbing had occurred. She’d never felt such a thing before, and what was even stranger was that the throbbing had been accompanied by an image that she couldn’t decipher, showing her a smiling face of someone she couldn’t recognize. Who were they? What was their significance? Why couldn’t she remember who they were? Perhaps she was running a little low on mana, maybe afterwards she would be able to remember them and place their face.

That was wishful thinking.

No matter what she did, she just couldn’t remember and it was distracting her from the one-sided conversation happening between herself and Yuta, which he took note of, suddenly snapping his fingers gently in front of her face. Slightly startled from her ever growing dilemma, she blinks, looking at her companion with a bitter taste on her tongue. Noticing the grimace present on her face, he pursued his lips in a pout and furrowed his brows at her. “Is something wrong? You’ve seemed… distant since speaking to The Great One? Did something happen alongside your promotion?” He asked in a hushed tone, knowing just how nosey the other Socreangels could be, he already heard some of them gossiping about Maki suddenly skipping the ranks after her short mission in the mortal world.

Matching the tone and volume level of his voice, she decides to confide in him considering that she always does, she considers him one of her closest.. friends. Another throb has her tensing up in her seat at one of the many tables in the cafeteria, only this time instead of being in the front of her skull it was in her chest. Which was strange, since Sorceangels did not need other organs aside from their brain, and stomach. However, she found herself reaching up to rub at an area on her chest where the human heart would be. There was an absence of a heart but with phantom pain in full blossom. The sensation was strange and not enjoyable in the least. Noticing this, Yuta frowned and reached over the table from where he sat across from her, encasing her wrist with his slender fingers and gripping onto it to get her to stop what she was doing. “Did He say something unfavorable to you…?” Yuta whispered even lower than before, his voice having the slightest edge to it along with his protectiveness just barely shielding itself from the world around them.

Maki looked up and quickly shook her head, using her other hand to wave dismissively as a means to get him to relax. “No no no. Nothing of the sort, I am just feeling… empty. Yuta listens, his shoulders slightly tensed as he eyes his friend, unable to say anything else to her considering he knew nothing of what she spoke of. Instead, he pushed the glass of strange blue, glimmering liquid towards her, urging her to drink it. Maki stared down at it and then at him but eventually gave in, picking it up and gulping it down with a blank look on her face. Perhaps restoration of her energy would be able to explain this. One could only hope she could get her head back on straight before being sent back down to the mortal realm to continue her mission.

So, KR is saying that Buck's arc focus is to make him grow by himself (can't remember the exact quote). With this in mind, what do you think about it and its execution?

Just gonna use this quote because she said variations of the same thing in her interviews: "And that felt like a change in Buck, and that's what catapulted him into this season, was wanting to understand himself. Because I think you have to do that before you can understand the kind of person you want to be with. And so his journey this season is him discovering who he is and who he wants to be for himself.

Not because other people will like him or because other people will be proud of him, but for Buck. When Buck looks in the mirror, how does he like the person he's looking at? What needs to happen for him that he can say, "I'm Buck, and I'm enough?" And so that's sort of the journey that he's on." Start of the season - Buck focusing on work, pushing himself. Great! Makes sense! It's his one constant, the one place he feels most accomplished, most valuable, and most like himself. Saying yes to possibilities to gain more life experience and figure out if anything sticks? I'm with it. Lev dying and making Buck realize he truly doesn't know what he wants out of his life or how to make it happen? He doesn't know what will make him happy? I see the connection. Where they lost me: WHY DOES BUCK HAVE TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE HAVE A KID TO REALIZE HE'S TOO MUCH OF A PEOPLE-PLEASER??? WHY DID THE PREGNANCY HAVE TO GO THROUGH (regardless of what happens in 6B because we don't know) FOR HIM TO REALIZE HE ALREADY IS A PARENT, ALREADY HAS HIS OWN FAMILY??? HE COULDN'T COME TO THIS CONCLUSION WHEN THE DONATIONS FAILED??? THAT WASN'T ENOUGH OF A REASON FOR A "BREAKDOWN"??? (I'm not rooting for a miscarriage here.) This storyline has me mad as hell, idgaf. The only "good" outcome is that it turns out the baby isn't is (because by some miracle, Connor got his wife pregnant), and Buck is feeling like discarded/defective parts again, or he had a family, a legacy (in his head) and it was "snatched away" from him, thus leading to the "breakdown" fans are waiting for. I do not need to be in year seven, eight, nine reading speculation about "do you think this is when C&K get killed off so Buck will somehow get *his* baby???"

it’ll take me a while to fully digest TTPD because it’s a LOT (probably my favorite album of hers, besting reputation which says a lot because that’s always been my number one) but just a few things about popstar!gf right now.

this was an excruciatingly honest look into her brain and it seems like a lot of people can’t handle it. they think it’s too much and the general public isn’t going to really look into what her lyrics mean. it was really brave of her to put this out into the world while being at some of her lowest times and now at her highest with hasan. this album is for people who want to understand her. her true fans and a good chunk of hasanabi heads are with her and supportive.

she’s feeling really vulnerable. she had let hasan hear a few songs before it’s official release but she wanted him to experience it altogether. so when it’s officially out, they’re laying on his couch alone in the house. just the album on, for two hours they lay together and listen. hasan is immediately overwhelmed because 1. he’s proud to be with someone who is so intelligent and turns her own life and struggles into something beautiful and poetic 2. he knew a lot about the bad times she was having and continued to have while they were just friends but he didn’t really understand. listening took his understanding of her to a whole new level. 3. he’s heartbroken that any person would treat her the way she’s been treated but also has to appreciate how strong she is and she’s on the other side of that now. he assures her he hopes to never ever treat her like that. he is careful with his words, avoids saying “i’ll never” or “i’ll always” because that might feel a bit scary and like an empty promise but he’s there for her.

she’s really in her own head the next few days, just writing a lot in her journal. she’s also been on twitter which is NEVER a good thing. she knows how great the album is going, her team has been keeping her in the loop, she’s breaking records. but actual people? her seeing their own opinions and people’s think pieces, a lot of it being negative, hits her in a certain way. she tries to not focus on the negative but it’s like a little nagging feeling she can’t shake off. it’s starting to eat at her. her journal entries are going to become a bit sadder and also more idgaf what anyone thinks, i’m damn proud of this album. if people think im on the news so much, if im doing too much, fine. you won’t see me.

but the positive right now is that all of her friends and family and all of hasan’s are super proud of her and think she’s done something truly incredible. although hasan tries to get her to go on fear& she won’t, but she’s appreciative of hearing from will and qt and austin and more that they think she’s an insanely talented artist.

she’s just kind of in a weird place. she has a tour planned but of the public opinion of her is going down quickly… she’s afraid she might just cancel the whole thing. she cancels interviews and appearances. she just needs some time to be with herself and hasan, friends and family. away from the public eye. maybe she will return soon. but maybe the public will continue to come crashing down on her and force her into living completely out of view.

The way it'll take me like a month to listen through the album. But I definitely say that it's going to up in my favorites, folklore is one hell of an album.

Not only does the general public think it's too much, it's too honest, it's too intimate, it's too long, it's simply too much. They also don't like how big of a change it it from what they know of her. She is a pop princess, Red and Guts have firmly put her in that position. However TTPD, is such a departure from her previous albums that a lot of people who aren't her fans don't like. Heaven forbid a female singer have a diverse sound. And some of her "fans" only like the pop music she makes and then not getting any of it, makes them very upset.

But as you where saying, it's a very vulnerable album, and she knows it. I can see them on the couch, or even the bed, she's resting her head on his shoulder, his arm over her, as she fiddles with his rings. While they listen to it together.

This is the start of Hasan's adventures into figuring out the delicate balance of giving her all the reassurance that she needs (which is a lot), but not saying the wrong things (which is basically anything to do with the words "forever, never, and I promise).

Hasan is always on a process of gaining respect for her. He has always had a great deal of it, but the more he knows about her the more his respect grows. Like yours so talented and smart, and capable, but no one should be treated the way.

I can imagine after getting done listening to it neither really know what to say, she wants to make sure that Hasan gets the chance to take it on without her influencing his opinion in any way. And he was to make sure she knows how much he's not going to pick up their relationship, but can't quite get the wording right. He just holds her tighter.

I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but idgaf lol, because I actually do think that people who have chosen certain professions shouldn’t act surprised and offended when people (politely) approach them when they’re out and about to say hi or, yes, even ask for an autograph. I’ll go a step further and say it’s actually incredibly weird to think that having a “never speak to me” “boundary” (god y’all learned that word and have been using it weirdly ever since lol), is normal.

Also, and this is just me, because I’ve always been a realist, like to the point of my own detriment lol, when I don’t want to encounter certain shit, I take great pains to NOT encounter it lmao. Like, sometimes, some things you hate are just gonna be unavoidable, but sometimes they definitely aren’t unavoidable, so I don’t know, maybe avoid them if you can 🤷🏾‍♀️

The last thing: I don’t like shit that doesn’t make sense logically. For example, I hate rats & mice, like hate hate them. I used to have nightmares about them when I was a kid. In like, maybe 7th grade, we had some school program about mice and rats (because I went to a hippie school where we had a program once a week in middle school lol, and it was always random af). Anyway, they showed us some film during the program and a mouse or rat or whatever tf it was chewed through a metal pipe. I never recovered 😭😭 Now, guess what job I’d never have? Exterminator. ***** I know I’ve said this before more than once, but I do truly believe it: I do not think a person can be rich or famous, not even necessarily both, just one or the other, without being an asshole. Personally, I think the scale goes from run of the mill asshole to straight up evil, and it’s a very wide scale. oh my god yes. i was just about to make a post. ill say a few opinions because they are all scattered.

problem one: from the founding of ag to 2014, everything was perfect. it all went downhill when the historical dolls were rebranded to beforever. all historical accuracy went out the window to cater to an even younger audience. all the playsets turned to plastic, there used to be wooden accessories! metal even! now its all cheap plastic, hunks going for hundreds of dollars. quality of items went down, as well as quality of stories. all the realism in the historical settings were wiped to have colorful smiles and happy colors. yes, some happiness is nice, but im still mad about kits redesign, wheres her flour sack dress! that was not made out of a flour sack!

problem two: girls of the year. they are running out of ideas! a second gymnast, really? im tired of the endless roulette of white girls! none of these girls stand out! they all have the same hobbies, and appeal to the same declining demographic of rich white girls. understandable, since the prices have ballooned so much people who arent rich arent buying them these days. each goty seems no different from the last. the current goty is both a gymnast and a horse girl. that is a desperate bid to tackle demographics. theyve done those a million times, the gymnast was mckenna back in 2012? and horses twice with nikki and sage. a horse does sell well, i always wanted a horse, but they really need to do something else. i honestly havent been paying much attention to recent gotys, but corinne and kavi were fantastic! the asian american representartion was great! but now the year after them, we are back to a white gymnast horse girl. im not privy to their sales, but i wish there were more diverse characters. but since the audience is mostly white rich moms who got mad at one of the characters having lesbian aunts, im not surprised they keep making them. i just want there to be more diversity!

Ok. Tl;dr desperation for american validation beginning in 2017

Pretty normal scope of events actually.

1. Fucking hated spring day when it dropped, snoozer ballad, liked not today better. It doing so well on the charts only made me angrier. I had preordered both versions of the album and it turned out to only be a shitty repackage beating a dead horse (hyyh symbolism) into the ground. Stopped paying attention to their live shows as much but still kept up with the fandom.

2. Then boom they're being invited to billboard for a fake ass popularity stunt and everyone's acting like it's such a big deal. Bitch what the fuck is billboard? I genuinely dgaf. American validation desperation starts. I keep up with their releases even less. They're being cringe as fuck selling out to america and bringing in idiots to the fandom. I start hating the way namjoon is acting, as I look back on those days now he's trying WAY too hard with the aegyo and it's fucking annoying.

3. Bts outcast. I just... So cringe. So, so cringe. And everyone was acting so... Idk. People tweeting about jimin dying and laughing and making it blow up until there were actual billboard articles being written about it. Google it if you dont know what im talking about. 4. Love yourself concept teasers drop. There's a bunch of random girls for no reason, giving all of them het plotlines in a story about friendship. Cringe. Someone tweets "dont sexualise their relationship with the girls don't disrespect them like that!" and someone replies "yoongis girl is going to eat his ass i can see it in her eyes" (very important to the narrative). I start feeling disconnected from jimin and start finding jungkook very attractive.

5. Dna teaser drops and im like ohhh this about to be good they're bringing retro back!! Turns out... They're going to be having the debut stage in america. I stay up with a friend all night watching it. Its exciting, but.... I don't care about america. I don't, i dont i dont. I truly dont. Oh yeah THE CHAINSMOKERS are on the album. I fucking hate collabs. I hate americans. But, whatever. The album is good. Like, really good. Serendipity is a jimin solo song, and I still love him despite my best interests. Best of me is good, pied paper is good, bojok is good, dna is GOOD... mic drop is fine, basic people are going to blow it up like they did with baepsae, but its okay. Im STANNING! But then the problems start arising.

I can't describe how awful the fandom space was, you just had to be there. The american influx was awful. Burn the stage drops. Another cash grab. People make fun of jungkook being sick. The love yourself concept feels hollow. I go back to wings and realize we have lost the plot.. hoseok is singing about his real life mother and people are creating theories about how it all relates back to the hyyh storyline. Jungkook is singing about how much he loves his hyungs and he didn't even write the words; rap monster did. I hate rap monster. Rap monster changes his name to RM- its less cringe to the americans that way. They change their logo- its minimalist now, to appeal to the americans. They're not the bulletproof boyscouts anymore. They're beyond the scene. Its hybe, not bighit. They're embarrased. They're changing themselves. They write all of their songs. (They really dont.) No but they do! We have to chart. I remember a jhope fansite dying back in the day. I remember that I had never heard about her before, but I remember feeling devastated. I remember feeling connected to her. As I write this, I am praying that she is well. We all came together and shared our condolences. It wasn't an event- we didn't trend anything. But there was a feeling of remorse that day in the fandom. Of community. I remember huddling around the phone with my friend- I had just gotten a twitter notification from bts. They just finished a concert in their red bullet tour. They post a group photo. It gets 10k likes.

Now every time I listen to a bts song in public this flashes in my mind.
