Carson/Mrs. Hughes OTP questions no one asked for but I’m giving to you anyway because they’re fun:

1. Who makes the first move and how?

Mrs. Hughes started flirting first, and Carson in the beginning was oblivious to it. It took him a good ten years or so to realize what it was she was doing, as silly as that sounds. Even then, he was hesitant to participate, wanting to maintain a professional relationship.

But Carson was the first to be attracted to her. I mean, Phyllis Logan looked like this back in the day

Of course Mr. Carson was smitten with the new maid, but obviously he couldn’t do anything about it. And Mrs. Hughes upon her arrival probably only saw Carson as her superior, Butler at her new job and not much more, whom, quite honestly, she probably gossiped about with the fellow servants for being a brown nosed snob. It wasn’t until she was promoted to housekeeper and spent more time with him, and truly got to know him, the real him, that she started feeling an attraction toward him.

2. Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?

Mrs. Hughes was much more confident about her body in her youth than she is now. It’s not that she feels ugly, no, she just knows things hang lower than they used to and she no longer fits the standards of being an attractive woman. It’s one thing to see a body age over time, but to see an aged body for the first time? It’s quite overwhelming. After all, she lives in a age where women like herself are taught to be prudes, spinsters too devoted to duty to have any real desire for sex or nakedness.

It takes a while for her to “feel better” about it. Charlie’s affections certainly help build her confidence. But sometimes she finds herself pulling the sheets up just a little higher, whereas a more confident woman, a younger woman, might not think to hide her breasts from the world.

3. Who is the most romantic?

Carson is not your typical romantic. He remembers Saint Valentine’s Day, and yet he devotes himself to professionalism.

I headcanon Carson actually gave Mrs. Hughes a Valentine after they became engaged and that’s what set Elsie off in s6e1, wondering what his true intentions were with her because “he’s willing to give me a card for Valentine’s Day but he won’t hold my hand or kiss me???”

And then she realizes after they’ve married that he’s a really loving man, he just doesn’t like to make that side of him public.

4. Who can’t keep their hands to themselves?

Carson can be handsy when he’s in the mood for it. And he believes, at least in the beginning of their marriage, it is his duty as the husband to initiate the more intimate moments between them. But Elsie is the one more willing to initiate hugs and kisses in more public settings.

5. Who says ‘I love you’ first?

I guess in canon Carson technically. “I do want to be stuck with you” is the words of a man professing his love. You can’t change my mind on that.

However, I don’t imagine they’re the type to always say the words “I love you” out loud. It has to be a special moment. So, the first time they actually say it to each other is either after they marry or right before they’re first time together.

6. Who would they ask if they ever had a threesome?

They would not have a threesome. Carson’s way too conservative to even suggest, much less think of, such a thing. Elsie’s horrified the question was even brought up.

7. What do they get up to on a night out?

Carson is very much a stay in for the night kind of person, but Elsie forces him out every so often. Most likely to go eat in a public house. Elsie dragged him out to go dancing once or twice, but he grumbled about it the entire time so she hasn’t taken him since. They spend time at the fair whenever it’s in town.

8. What do they like in bed?

Carson is a very vanilla man. He is satisfied with missionary and really doesn’t need that much else, while Elsie is much more willing to experiment, especially after she becomes more comfortable with sex. But, of course, nothing happens between them that is too shocking. They are respectable people, mind.

9. What is the most embarrassing thing they have done in front of each other?

Intimacy is quite new to them, so I imagine more quiet/comfortable moments take some getting used to. Ex: using the bathroom with the other just behind the door to hear everything, or being sick with the flu and having the other see everything. But they get over that quickly and they learn to be comfortable, embarrassing sounds and all.

10. What do they hide from one another?

Carson: his shaky hands. And possibly anything that reveals himself incompetent.

Elsie: her more progressive/feminist views.

11. What first changes when it starts getting serious?

The atmosphere between them changes when Carson proposes. Before, they were just very close colleagues, who occasionally flirted with each other. After he proposes, things become different and a little more awkward.

But once they establish that they will indeed be intimate in their upcoming marriage, I imagine Carson starts making more of an effort to show Elsie that he’s interested in her, like maybe kissing her goodnight before they go up for bed, obviously behind closed doors where no one else can see.

12. When do they realise they should get together?

Part of me wonders if Carson was waiting to propose after they retire, given the whole “we should invest in a property together” plot. I think putting her name on the property after she confessed why she couldn’t was his way of telling her “don’t worry, I’ll take care of you in your old age.” And he only proposed because she wasn’t quite getting it. He isn’t the best communicator when it comes to his feelings.

13. When one has a cold, what does the other do?

When Elsie has a cold, Carson hardly notices because she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Carson, however, turns into quite the baby when his throat is even the slightest bit scratchy.

14. When they watch a film what do they choose and why? Who gets the final vote?

I imagine Elsie has to drag Carson to a silent film. She’ll want to see whatever’s popular while Carson would rather watch paint dry, but he’ll enjoy it once they’ve settled in their seats.

15. When the zombie apocalypse comes, how do they cope together?

Carson dies almost immediately. Mrs. Hughes becomes the matriarch of the post apocalyptic sanctuary Tom Branson and Lady Mary create.

16. When they find a time machine, where do they go?

Carson travels back in time to see Queen Victoria’s coronation. Elsie travels into the future to witness a more kinder and forgiving world.

17. When they fight, how do they make up?

18. Where do they go on their first date?

People didn’t go on dates back then. But I imagine Carson takes her out places after they become engaged that could be considered their first date. Maybe Carson considers that moment at the sea to be their first “date.” Elsie does not.

19. Where do they go on holiday?

Scarborough. I don’t think servants in those days went on a lot of holidays. Carson might see a trip up to London with the family as a holiday, even if they are working. Elsie would not see it that way and get upset if Carson tries to argue it is. Change in scenery, yes, but not a holiday.

20. Where do they get nervous about going with one another?

They’re comfortable, they don’t get nervous about being with each other, no matter the location. Carson may feel apprehensive about being called Charlie by Elsie (or anyone) in front of the family, but he isn’t nervous about being seen with her, and nor is she.

21. Where does their first kiss happen?

In Carson’s pantry, as shown in canon. I headcanon their first “passionate” kiss was in the privacy of their own home a few weeks before their wedding.

22. Where is their favourite place to be together?

Probably at home where they can truly be themselves.

23. Where do they first have sex?

Most likely their first time was in their hotel room on their honeymoon. Carson respects Elsie too much to bed her before marriage.

24. Why do they get jealous?

Part of me feels Carson was a bit jealous of Joe Burns in s1 and he would be annoyed if someone openly flirted with Elsie in front of him, especially after they’ve married.

I don’t think Mrs. Hughes is jealous of any woman in Carson’s life, past or present. She gets irritated with Lady Mary, but not jealous. His relationship with Alice showed her he was human and capable of being in love. I honestly feel like she only wants Carson to be happy. If that means him being in love with someone other than herself, then she wouldn’t do anything to interfere with that relationship. Whereas, I feel, Carson might interfere with Elsie’s love life (depending on which season—s1 Carson would absolutely not interfere, but s3 Carson and beyond definitely would). Elsie wouldn’t be jealous of him finding love. She might be a little sad about him being in love with someone else, but mostly she would just be happy for her friend finding love.

After they’ve married, she would find amusement in other women flirting with her oblivious husband. Like that *spoiler* scene in the new movie—I am absolutely convinced she and Maude would spend the entire day laughing and teasing him about the incident while Carson trails behind them red faced.

25. Why do they fall a little bit more in love?

Carson admires Elsie’s kindness and her willingness to help others whenever she can offer it. Elsie admires his loyalty and his compassion toward the family, even if she doesn’t necessarily agree with it.

The endearing moment of Elsie catching him singing after he’s been told she isn’t sick in s3, I think, is where she realizes he cares for her deeply. And perhaps this is when he too realizes he likes her maybe just a little bit more than a friend/colleague.

But I think Carson really started coming to terms with his love for Elsie when she helped him bring closure to his past relationship with Charlie and Alice. That was something he really needed to deal with before opening his heart again.

After they’ve married, there are probably things they discover about each other that make them think “wow I didn’t know you did that but it makes me love you even more for it.” Small moments like Elsie realizing Carson keeps his socks and underwear in separate drawers or Carson discovering Elsie hums when she does her hair each morning.

I’m sorry I took FOREVER to do these. <3 I hope it was worth the wait!

Break their Ass Down: Bianca Davri

How I feel about this character

I like and respect her. We don’t know a lot about her, but what we DO know is kind of badass. She’s probably about Varric’s age (40ish), and we can assume the bulk of her work has been completed in about 20 years (from her 20s through to the present day) and in that time she’s completed MULTIPLE life changing inventions that are honestly pulling Thedas into the industrial revolution if you look at OUR world history and compare what happened when similar inventions were created that revolutionized the backbreaking labor of agriculture and manufacturing.

She is absolutely a genius, and she knows it. That confidence and her reputation/skill makes her sexy and powerful. But there’s hints that she didn’t have the power she has now in former years. I think if she had met Varric now, when she’s older and more established, their romance wouldn’t be such a tragedy. But there’s something undeniably compelling about a brilliant young woman who runs away from at least one wedding to take off with a dashing rogue before she realizes she has to do what everyone wants her to do.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Varric - up to a point and in canon-divergent AUs. I think their tragic romance is really beautiful when they’re young, but I think by the time it reaches DAI it’s clearly toxic for bother characters (is Bianca holding onto the one thing she ever really picked for herself to spite her family? is Varric so caught up in a story he can’t handle reality?) However - I think they’d work really well together in a universe where they don’t meet until they’re older and it doesn’t go sideways quite so badly.

Bogdan - we know absolutely nothing about him except that he was stood up at the altar at least once and that he helps Bianca with selling her inventions. In my writing, I’ve never been able to nail down what exactly I want his character to be. I wrote him as kind of an idiot in my first Varric/Cadash fic, set him up to be a minor antagonist in GwtAT (in both fics he’s quite possibly emotionally abusive or at the very least neglectful), but I’ve always written him as forgiving and loving. I very much love the idea of a man who also wasn’t sold on marrying a woman clealy in love with someone else, but they work it out and form a strong, solid partnership. I would ship that version of Bogdan with Bianca in a heartbeat.

Dagna - this is a crack pair I am super invested in emotionally and has been gifted to me by @jarakrisafis once. I love the rivals-to-lovers aspect of it. Two brilliant women in competition before the sexual tension escalates and then they form a brilliant partnership? sign me the fuck up.

Nobody - I said it. In both my first Cadash/Varric fic and in GwtAT, Bianca ends up alone and free. I think that’s quite a happy ending for her - she doesn’t need a romantic interest, she lives a happy and fulfilled life making the world better free of the drama.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Varric - Post DAI I really like the idea of old lovers becoming friends and realizing they’re better that way. I don’t think anyone knows either of them as well as the other one does, and I find it hard to imagine that Varric ever quite leaves Bianca’s life even if it’s platonic.

Dagna - they should be friends. that’s it that’s all.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Bianca isn’t an asshole, fandom is just mean to complicated female characters.

Bianca does some shady shit during DAI. That red lyrium thing was CLEARLY a mistake, and she knows it, but I don’t blame her for not admitting it right away. She’s a genius - so her mistakes are correspondingly huge as well - she doesn’t play for small stakes. She didn’t double cross Varric as much as go around him to try and help him - a thing Varric is VERY guilty of doing for his friends as well but nobody ever calls him out on it (paying off the gangs to leave Anders alone even though Anders says not to? Trying to get Fenris a job he doesn’t want? Annoying Merrill to go outside until she’s ABSOLUTELY aggravated with him?)

Bianca’s mistake was made with good intentions, and while she may have helped Corypheus, I’m pretty sure he’d have found a way without her. In fact, it’s a little known fact Bianca actually shows up at that keep in Emprise du Lion to help clean up the red lyrium as an NPC. Check out this post by @pikapeppa to see the dialogue (thank you for compiling this by the way I’ve used it as a resource a hundred times)

Yeah. She fucking stays with the Inquisition to clean up a mess she helped cause. The most brilliant woman in Thedas, literally two votes away from being a surfacer Paragon, stays in the worst fucking place in Thedas to help the Inquisitor.

Nobody ever takes that into consideration when bashing her.

What I think people really don’t like is Bianca threatening to rip out your Inquisitor’s eyeballs if they get Varric hurt and using them to clean up her mistake. And you know what, fair, you don’t have to like your OC getting threatened or used.

But Varric arguably uses the Inquisition to clean up Hawke’s mess, and if he would have threatened your OC for Hawke, I don’t think anyone would have cared.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

A lot of the information about Varric and Bianca’s relationship seems almost...optional to find? And it’s so many throwaway lines. We see Varric and Bianca at one of the worst moments in their relationship, but we don’t see how they got there. And because the moment is caused by Bianca’s mistake, she comes out looking worse than Varric, but I don’t think that’s true either.

I truly believe that Varric and Bianca’s relationship is/should be over by the time DAI ends, it’s run it’s course, but I don’t think either of them are the SOLE cause for it being over. They both contributed to an increasingly untenable relationship and Varric got off way too easy for his part of it in game, leaving Bianca to take the hit. It’s unfair.

You've been posting about your OTPs and I was wondering, would you make a top 10 list of your all time favorite ships? Not ones from fandoms you're currently in, but ones that have stuck with you ever since you first shipped them?

Oh this is an....interesting question. I’ve love to do a top 10 list though. Hmmm....let’s see....of ships that have stuck with me....I’ll go with ones that I easily get emotional over just thinking about them. Ones that make me all warm and fuzzy, but also make me sad whenever something happens to them.

10) KilluGon - Hunter x Hunter

These two have such a cute relationship. They’re honestly so pure, I love their dynamic so much. Killua absolutely adores Gon and would do anything for him. Gon treasures Killua dearly as well. After all they’ve went through, I hope they’re happy and I anticipate the day that they’re able to reunite.

9) SorMik - Tales of Zestiria

It’s been a while since I went through this series, but I really loved their relationship. I love how they’re technically canon since Sorey knowing Mikleo’s true name has romantic connotation. Plus who doesn’t a good Friends to Lovers? These two care deeply for each other and it’s honestly adorable seeing them interact.

8) AshEiji - Banana Fish

I went into Banana Fish completely blind and didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t expect to find a beautiful love story between these two. They genuinely care for each other. Ash is able to be open without fear of being take advantage of or expecting to give or take anything. Eiji is just so patient and gentle with Ash, it’s beautiful yet heartbreaking.

Also, can we pretend that Ash went with Eiji to Japan? Yeah? Yeah.

7) NorEmma - The Promised Neverland

I’ll never get over these two. Norman’s love for Emma is both sweet and heartbreaking. We don’t know if Emma actually returns his feelings, but if she does...Let’s hope Norman will be able to survive Emma smushing his face with kisses.

6) GerIta - Hetalia

I wanted to put HRE/Chibitalia, but this is basically the same thing, right? I firmly believe the HRE = Germany theory, which is really depressing if you think about it. This would make Germany Italy’s first love, but he never remembered him. But it doesn’t matter, because he falls back in love with Italy anyway. Italy definitely never forgot Holy Rome, he definitely still thinks about him from time to time. I can only imagine how Italy would feel if he fell for Germany. He would probably feels like he’s betraying Holy Rome. But can you imagine Italy if he found out if Germany really was Holy Rome? Lots of hugs, crying and kissing, that’s for sure.

5) Usagi/Misaki - Junjou Romantica

I rewatched this series a year ago and I fell back in love with these two very quickly. Usagi treasures and adores Misaki so much and despite Misaki’s insistence, he loves him too. As someone who has a very hard time admitting my feelings, I feel Misaki’s pain in not being able to yell out his love for Usagi. He wants to, but he can’t.

4) NaLu - Fairy Tail

I really loved these two when I first watched Fairy Tail. I loved their dynamic and how fiercely protective Natsu got over Lucy. I truly fell for this ship when Lucy first got kidnapped and the Guild went to save her, but it was Natsu who was the most aggressive when it came to looking for her. I would watch episode 22 over and over again, just watching Lucy putting her absolute trust in Natsu in him catching her. These two share a bond that I love.

3) TodoDeku/BakuDeku - My Hero Academia

Y’all expected me to choose just ONE from MHA? Literally impossible. I remember not knowing who to ship when I first ventured into this series, but when I saw people talking about TodoDeku (I first joined the fandom when the manga was around the....Stain Arc I believe) and I got curious. I looked it up and it was too cute to pass up. I remember feeling apprehensive when wanting to ship BakuDeku, but I fell in love with it. Bakugou is slowly redeeming himself in my eyes and he’s starting to open up to Izuku, which I greatly appreciate.

2) Soul x Maka - Soul Eater

These two....I love them dearly. I treasure their bond. They bicker and fight, but they still care so much for each other. I remember going absolutely nuts when Soul threw himself in front of Maka to protect her from Crona when they first met. He dedicated his life to her, swearing to always protect her and I just....found that so endearing.

1) HanaNene - Toilet Bound Hanako-kun

I don’t care that I recently got into this fandom. These two cause me so many emotions after I read the manga. You can’t tell me that they’re not deeply in love with each other. The Little Mermaid Arc and the Picture Perfect Arc are perfect examples of why these two are meant for each other. Hanako quickly fell for her when he met her at that festival all those years ago and never forgot her, even until his death. Yashiro slowly fell for him over time, seeing Hanako for who he really is and how deeply he cares for her.

As for my favorite ships.... There are mainly 4 I adore and actively seek out content for:

4. Liutana

Listen okay. These two are simply adorable together, and it's so, so clear they're HEAD OVER HEELS for each other. It literally doesn't matter what gets in their way - vastly different lifespans, evil tyrants, their realms being in conflict, or even Literal Death - they always pull through and stick together, which proves how much of a power couple they are and how strong their bond is. Every single interaction they have shows the sheer amount of respect and devotion they have for each other and i Live for it.

also liu being such a sweet awkward bean is a cute little bonus

3. Jakeda

These two just have such good chemistry. Every single one of their interactions is golden, and really, tough Specialist Jacqueline Briggs having a soft spot for a smooth jokester like Takeda is actually a perfect concept. They complement each other really well, and the way they're so open about their feelings for each other really sells this ship imo. That scene where Takeda calls Jacqui "beautiful" is just *biggest chef kiss in history*

2. Kung Lao x Mileena

This ship is SEVERELY underrated and the fact that they don't even have a ship name (afaik) is actually a crime. I've delved a little bit into why I like these two together and how they could work in this post, but in summary, they're always in the shadow of their "superior" counterparts and are shrugged off by others because of it, which could result in some level of understanding between the two and serve as a basis for their relationship. Idk, they could help each other realize they have inherent value and don't need other people's approval to be great in their own right, and ugh just thinking about it is making me 1) tear up and 2) want to yell at nrs writers for not seeing the IMMENSE potential these two have. Really, I don't care if it's platonic or romantic, Kung Lao x Mileena is undoubtedly top notch no matter how you look at it.

1. Erronjin

Now THIS. This is my number one, undisputed OTP.

These two are peak Jerk x Jerk. They both have a quick wit and sharp tongue, so they're the type of couple who'd try to out-snark each other only to end up kissing passionately at the end, and I honestly love that for them. There's also the enemies to lovers potential..... The fact that they both seem to have emotional repression and family issues they could address together......... And the way they speak to each other is so suave, almost flirtatious, it really makes you think they might be fascinated by each other, maybe even more than you'd initially think. I don't know about you, but all those things sound like recipes for a strong, compelling romance to me, and I really wish they had more canon interactions. I truly do believe these two could bring out the best out of each other if they gave it a shot (pun 100% intended).

@loved-the-stars-too-fondly tagged me in a ship meme! I will try to make this interesting lol.

1. First ship

It’s a tie between Aladdin/Jasmine and Simba/Nala, because I saw both of these movies about the same time as a little kid. And my sixth birthday cake had a picture of Aladdin and Jasmine on it, and I used to tell stories about them to myself on the playground, but I had plushies of baby Simba and Nala with magnetic noses that could “kiss.”

2. First OTP

I am taking this to mean “first fic you felt strongly enough about to produce content for or engage with in a creative/fandom way,” in which case that would be Michael/Mia from The Princess Diaries. I wrote one (1) bad fanfic when I was 13 (about how Michael proposed and then Grandmere threw a fit BUT then he saved her life while they were horseback riding) that’s still on ff dot net somewhere, and I read basically every fanfic for them that was available on ff dot net. I still have an enormous soft spot for them and I reread the books every few years.

3. Current favorite ship

Since I’m on a Dimension 20 kick right now, even though I haven’t read much fanfic yet I’m going to say both Fig/Ayda from Fantasy High and Ricky/Esther/Sofia from The Unsleeping City. Fig/Ayda is incredibly cute because Fig is a tiefling with shapechanging ability who had a string of questionable romantic encounters with much older men before meeting Ayda, the teenage curator of a magic library who is also an autistic Black phoenix. Fig is very impulsive and brash, but also emotionally closed-off and insecure, but she starts bonding with Ayda because Ayda thinks she’s really cool and admires her bravado. Fig doesn’t know what to do with someone who’s so intimidating but cool who seems to really like her, and, well, you can watch this scene where they get together, it’s very good. It contains Fig vomiting into a bush, then saying “I think you’re perfect the way you are,” then skateboarding away in a panic. It’s maybe the most accurate sapphic rep I’ve ever seen.

Ricky/Esther are just two incredibly nice people who get together in The Unsleeping City, but I think that they should also get together with their friend Sofia because of reasons. I genuinely think the canon supports this reading quite a bit.

4. Your ship since the first minute

I have a fun story for this, which is that literally since day 1 of Korra, I wanted her to have a girlfriend (post date: 12/7/11), and the second Asami showed up I was like eyes emoji. And then I dropped off the show after the first season for a few reasons, kind of assuming they would never do an f/f couple and casually shipping Korrasami sort of out of spite, but THEN my friend messaged me immediately after the finale like DUDE YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED. And that was honestly one of the emotional high points of my fandom life.

5. Ship(s) you wish had been endgame

I have...many! Bering and Wells from Warehouse 13 is paramount, obviously, because that is a wound in my soul from which I will never recover. Cartinelli from Agent Carter slightly less so, but I think that was truly the last time that I had real hope for a canon f/f ship. I think Matt/Foggy/Karen should have all been romantic together because Matt/Karen by themselves has weird vibes and I don’t like it. Obviously I think Fitz should have died in the series finale and Skimmons should have been canon, and as far as I’m concerned he died of a brain tumor after that and then they got together. (Daniel is also involved still, he’s a chill dude and I like him and it’s fine.)

6. Ship you wish was canon

Grace/Dani from Terminator: Dark Fate, because wow did they shoehorn in an incredibly hilarious attempt at mommyzoning Dani (didn’t work, it’s still gay fuckos). But it would’ve been nice if they’d just leaned into it and let the horny lesbian ghost that possessed the screenwriters make it explicitly gay. Uhhhh. Most things I end up secondhand shipping I end up consuming the canon for eventually lol. I was secondhand shipping Cameron/Donna from Halt and Catch Fire last year because my friend was watching it but then I just...also watched it lol. Uhhhh. The Killing Eve lesbians seem fun I guess? I’ll get to that eventually.

9. Ship you wish had a different storyline

I’m digging deep for this one, but Buffy/Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I think they had SUCH a cool dynamic that kind of stopped getting explored after season 4, and it’s a bummer. I don’t think they’re like, endgame or true love or anything, but I think they’re sort of the messy pair that can’t completely disentangle from each other, and maybe they don’t even really want to? I think that they couldn’t live in the same house or anything but that they meet up and hang out and probably fuck every couple years, and it’s good.

10. Favorite ship(s) that’s endgame

GAMBIT/ROGUE GOT MARRIED IN THE COMICS. I’M SO PSYCHED. I don’t know if Karolina/Nico from Runaways counts as endgame but I love them, and I also love Gert/Chase. I’m rewatching Nikita and am delighted to know that Michael/Nikita is still very good. Priya/Tony from Dollhouse is also very good. Daisy/Daniel was honestly the best outcome SHIELD could have realistically given me and I was quite happy with it. I don’t know if Magnus Archives ships count but I really like Georgie/Melanie (we stan sapphic accidental apocalypse cult leaders). Oh and I like all the canon Avatar: The Last Airbender ships too.

okay i mean, technically i have three on ao3. i wrote ONE fic for law & order svu and it’s an entirely irrelevant fic now because what i wrote about HAPPENED. but people still read it every now and then so i just leave it up. and i also wrote an epilogue fic for the netflix film juanita. i’m not in that fandom cuz that fandom doesn’t really exist but i watched the movie for a film class and i literally turned that fic in as my project for it (yes i got 100% yes go read the fic). so pretty much all i write for is beauty and the beast 2017, my beloved :)

fading memories is your dream, for SURE. 99% of my fics end in a very happy and fluffy way. the only ones that end angsty are my young adam fics, and that one is the Big Boy Prequal Fic that ends in a perfectly tragic way that should lead you right to the beginning of batb 2017. it’s all angst, man.

7. do you write crossovers?

no but i’m not against them! i think they can be fun :) emily and i have an ongoing crossover universe but we’ve never written any fics it just exists through our insane texts and incorrect quotes sjdksj

8. have you ever received hate on a fic?

thankfully, no! the batb readers are all very kind and sweet!! (or at least the ones who read my fics lol)

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

nope nope the furthest i’ll go is making out and even then i’m not graphic or detailed at all

well no not besides me and @ilikebigassbuttsandicannotlie’s crossover universe but it’s not exactly in fic form. and i collab’d with @drawnby27emilys but i did the writing and she did the illustrating, we stuck to our strong suits, lol.

adam and belle from beauty and the beast 2017 are quite nearly the only ship i have paid any attention to in the last 4 years!!

14. whats a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

hmmm. maybe i’m just optimistic but i feel like i’ll get to everything eventually. there’s one really long fic that i’ve written so many bits and pieces of but never just sat down and written it. mostly for technical plot reasons that i just don’t spend enough time trying to work out. OH! there’s that fic idea i got from that dream i had where it was modern au and adam had a little sister. SHOOT bro i do wanna write that. i wrote so much dialogue for it that next day but the wip itself is hardly anything :(

15. what are your writing strengths?

setting the scene and just painting the picture really nicely so you can see everything clearly. little details that make you feel like you’re watching it. i don’t know, character blocking? i think about what they’re doing a lot, with their hands or where they’re looking or whatever. also i think i’m pretty good at dialogue but that’s just cuz adam and belle are in my head all day long so i know their voices very well

16. what are your writing weaknesses?

conflict for sure. i’m too much of a fluffy writer!! i don’t like writing arguments or them getting mad at each other unless it’s stupid domestic stuff then it’s funny. i’m really good at writing the reconciling/making up lol but i seriously need to work on creating conflict. i just get too attached and i don’t like to see them fight even though i know everyone does and it’s a part of building the relationship >:( and even if it’s not adam and belle i just need to be better at writing it in general, for my oc’s and such. do it for the kids, lyd!

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

it’s very cool in the correct context!! i can’t do it really but hell yeah!! obviously with batb being in france i sometimes use french terms of endearment, mostly for lumiere lmao, but that’s about all i’m capable of! in my recent kiddos fic i tried out some familial titles like pépère for grandpa maurice and tata & oncle for auntie plumette and uncle lumiere <3 that was fun!

18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

bbc sherlock babeyyyy. i used to hand-write sherlock childhood fic in a journal??? i didn’t even know what fic was i just liked giving him a backstory haha. i did the same for loki but in my phone notes app. i’m nothing in not a sucker for the sad and innocent childhood backstories of very sad men apparently!

19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?

oh man this is so hard. i’m proud of a lot of my work! majesty of a different breed comes to mind honestly. it’s one of my longer ones and i just truly love how it turned out. i think my descriptors are so good and i capture adam and belle’s dynamic as a newly married couple really well, i think. and i give them a dog! how can you not have a good time reading that fic!

honorable mentions to easy to remember, harder to move on — my maurice memories fic that i also really love. AND fading memories is your dream! my longest work and gosh, i really do love the tragic backstories bro!!! big proud of both of those too :)

2.) who says "I love you" more?

I think they would both say it really, really often. like, everyone else around them would probably be like 'gag me' at times. XD but I have this gut feeling that Eugene would say it A LOT. Rapunzel would say it very often, as well, but I think Eugene is the biggest closeted softy, so I have this instinctual feeling that he would remind Rapunzel how much he loves her every chance he possibly gets. he would never want to take for granted what life has given him in her.

9.) who finds stray animals and begs the other to let them keep them?

with her inherent good heart and empathy, probably Rapunzel. at first, Eugene would be like.... no, that's disgusting. but then, Rapunzel would remind him that HE was once an orphan who SHE gave a chance to, and then he would eventually melt right along with her.

13.) who gives the most compliments?

I feel that Rapunzel would be very complimentary. I think its just in her nature to be that way. for her, it would be the natural thing to do. but along with the 'I love you' thing, I think Eugene would compliment her a LOT, and potentially even go a little overboard. he would ALWAYS be telling Rapunzel how beautiful she looks, how smart she is... if only because he understands how much she never got to hear it as a child. I think he would also do it a lot, because he's never had the chance to BE such a softy in a relationship before. before Rapunzel, Eugene never felt SAFE enough to be this outwardly affectionate. I think, secretly, he would really love it.

and Rapunzel? well, she would eat it up. not for selfish reasons, but the girl grew up in a tower with a world-class manipulator who was always throwing backhanded compliments her way. Rapunzel, deep down, I think would absolutely thrive off of praise of any kind. and praise/compliments coming from EUGENE? all bets would be off there. right, @kelseyfitzherbert? ;)

16.) who gives the other cringeworthy pet names?

OH GOODNESS, 1000% Rapunzel.

Sunshine? Blondie? Princess? I also have a few other headcanons for what Eugene might call Rapunzel, like 'pretty girl' or 'my sweet girl.' Overall, his nicknames for her are FREAKING ADORABLE.

19.) who clings to the other for comfort when they're sad or scared?

Rapunzel definitely clings to Eugene.

honestly, I think this was one of the issues with Rapunzel's character in the series. and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Rapunzel to pieces. that's my girl. it wasn't HER fault: it was a writing flaw. I don't think she was written accurately in the series. I don't think she was always written in a way that was in character; in a way that aligned with her movie-self. I think she comforted and acknowledged Eugene's feelings in the series a lot less than in-character, movie-Rapunzel would have if written accurately.

I'll get off my soapbox, though. overall, Eugene is definitely the comforter in their relationship, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that. they've been through a lot together.

20.) who is more 'physically passionate?'

this is hard to say. I think they would both have reasons to be very passionate physically. Eugene, because he's never been able to feel safe enough to be intimate with someone he is TRULY in love with. a pure love, like what he has with Rapunzel. again, like with the compliment thing, he would be eating up that intimacy (as soon as he knew for sure that she was 100% ready for it), because he's never had it with someone he's truly in love with before.

as for Rapunzel, she so clearly craves physical affection. it's definitely one of, if not her main, love language. you can tell that she's always holding back from just wanting to smother those that she loves with physical affection, because she was only able to give it at arm's length, only when it was convenient for Gothel, and only when it had to do with her hair. suddenly, people love her for just... being HER. she would want to show them that she loves them, too, in the way that she shows love best. and with Eugene? she would want to show him love in that way, more than with anyone else.

I think once they cross that final line, they would pretty equally be all over one another, all the time.

favorite thing about them

I honestly love the spin that Hawks as a character brings to the 'top pro hero narrative'! Until he appeared our main points of reference were from All Might and Endeavour, both of whom have been in the business a while, but Hawks is young and the different areas of hero society that get explored because of him (HPSC etc) is really fascinating to me! Also, he's pretty as FUCK and I simp.

least favorite thing about them

My main gripe with Hawks is less about Hawks as a character and more about what was done with him in the series. I feel like we could have gotten a lot more out of the whole 'double agent' thing (but I am a known fan of Villain Hawks so take that with a grain of salt) but yeah, ultimately I feel like he was only used to show what the LOV/PLF was up to which we could have gotten with simply a villain POV. I just wished that the way his character was used was a bit more creative.

I personally really like the Trans Hawks headcanon! For me it just adds another layer to his treatment by the HPSC to think about what it would be like having to transition under their supervision/influence. Definitely some good fics waiting to be written out of it!

unpopular opinion

As much as I love the trope....I don't think Villain Hawks would have been a good story turn for him. No matter what some fics might suggest, a lifetime lived in and conditioned by a system takes more to break out of than befriending your targets. He'd make a formidable villain yes, but the impact of such a move on the story wouldn't be sufficient to justify such a big u-turn.

Random Kaeloo appreciation post

Okay so, as you already know I love Kaeloo. And if you didn’t know, I love Kaeloo. Now you know that.

Buuut you don’t know WHY I love Kaeloo. And that’s what’s this post about!

1. The jokes

Okay so, the first thing I love about Kaeloo is the jokes that it has in it.

Since when I started rewatching the series after a few years (when I first started watching it I was 9-10 years old) I realised about how many fingering jokes it got away with. Like, when I FINALLY started watching Season 1, I was all the time like this:

Buuut it was awesome. Like, am I the only one here who loves it when they sneak into children’s shows adult jokes? Wait, is it just me? Ok...

As a person who watches cartoon with her little sibling, it’s pretty great because they can enjoy the funny and innocent side of the show, while I sit there and think with a smile: “Not so bad after all.”

And the best thing about it is rewatching the show when you’re a bit older (like I am doing) so that you can fully enjoy it.

2. The characters

Now, I want to be honest. Kaeloo has some truly amazing characters in it.

Let’s see an example... everyone’s favorite character, Mr Cat.

He’s pretty much one of the major reasons why I’m watching the cartoon over again. But why?

Well, I really appreciate how Cube Creative has put so much effort into designing everyone’s personality.

Like yeah sure, Mr Cat is still a sadomasochistic pervert like a lot of other characters from other shows, but I still really enjoy watching him more than I’d like to with other characters with a sadomasochistic personality; he can somehow get into the show adult jokes, is really passionate about what he does, truly cares about Kaeloo (I swear to god I ship those two so hard), can still be a good guy after all, and after learning his story... I JUST LIKE TO EMPATHISE WITH BAD GUYS OK?

And it’s pretty much the same with the others, since I myself truly relate to Kaeloo and find her really similar to me. Also, we must all say one thing: no matter what, you just can’t hate anyone in the Kaeloo cast. Or at least you can't COMPLETELY HATE them.

3. Fricking Kaelat-

Ok so as I said before, I just really love Kaelat. (Another of the major reasons why I’m rewatching the show-)

It has the immense power to be both my OTP and at the same time my BROTP. They just have a too well designed relationship for a kids’ show.

They fight and all, but that’s normal. Instead, I sort of appreciate how the creators made them fight so much, since no relationship is perfect after all. But they are still friends (and more, we know you both love each other you fools), support each other, help each other...

The reason why my two favorite season are 1 and 4 is because of the fricking ship.

I just really love them ok they’re such cuties and I love it when they fight like an old married couple (and they also remind me a lot of me and my boyfriend, just saying)

4. The animations

If there’s something I love in cartoons is animations. I know the best thing you can have in a cartoon is a good plot, but if it also has good animations then I love it even more.

Now, Kaeloo hasn’t the most adventurous of the plots (I would define it an “Idiot Plot”) but still, another of the major reasons why I glove the show is because of the 3D animations. I’m honestly not a really huge fan of 3D animations, but this show makes it just really good to watch. Another reason because I love Season 4 is just that...

Dude, the quality of the show. It’s just awesome.

As an example, let’s take the trilogy of episodes“Let’s Play Saga Of The Wholly Gruel ” (I don’t really remember the name).

Now, taking the Star Wars parody aside, it was smooth and enjoyable and I really like it.

Marinette is the daughter of Wonder Woman X Superman

Hey have this!!!! I was inspired by @eve-valution and their wonderful art!

Also like.... It’s really just an excuse for Mari to be ridiculously overpowered tbh; plus.... the aesthetic of this tiny adorable girl accidentally breaking things all the time, and getting super flustered over it. >.> It’s cute, ok? lol

Honestly, my original plan for this was Daminette, and this version is; but I might also make some adjustments for a Timinette version (I love them, they’re adorkable together ok)? I haven’t decided yet. ALSO this is just a basic outline; not the fic itself. I haven’t started the fic yet. Feel free to ask things though!! ALSO THIS AU IS CLASS FRIENDLY!!!

~ DAMINETTE VERSION~

So in the latest DC animated movies, they’ve been pushing Diana/Clark pretty heavily while implying that despite Clark’s attraction to Diana, he’s still in love with Lois; this is seen pretty obviously when Diana and Clark go on a date, and Lois shows up. Clark immediately puts space between him and Diana and honestly, it’s a little telling. (this is all in stark contrast to the Justice League cartoon from the 90’s/early 2000’s, where Diana and Bruce ((Wonder Woman and Batman)) were shipped pretty heavily) Talk about baby’s first OTP, am I right? XD

ANYWAY THE POINT IS THIS.

Lois and Clark are together, like they’re getting married. (somewhere in the world, Damian is turning one; this is relevant later.) One night, Superman has a ‘moment of weakness’, and him and Wonder woman bang. BOOM! Pregnant.

Diana is rightfully upset, as Clark immediately tells her this was a mistake, they never should’ve done that. He goes back to Lois, and they don’t speak outside of the Watchtower anymore. Diana does not tell him when she finds out she’s pregnant. She goes to Bruce, tells him she’ll be out of commission for up to 3 years.

Bruce is rightfully concerned, but Diana doesn’t tell him what’s wrong. He assures her she can leave; they’ll keep it together out here while she rests in Themyscira. She feels bad for not telling him, but resolves to do it later. Home she goes, to see her mom and the rest of the Amazons!

Her mother is disgusted by Clark’s conduct, but Diana has always wanted to have a child. They know it will be a daughter: it always is, Hippolyta says conspiratorially. The pregnancy is interesting, and many of the Amazons are startled at how quickly their princess can finish her projects. Hippolyta watches on in concern; her daughter has become startlingly creative during these months, and as a previous Ladybug that can mean only one thing.

Tikki will be back in the family soon.

Hippolyta says nothing about this to Diana, not wanting to alarm her daughter.

When Marinette is born with dark hair, and blue eyes there is no surprise. Diana stares at her daughter as if she is the most beautiful thing to have ever existed, and to her, she is. Marinette spends 3 years on Themyscira, learning from her mother, grandmother, and all of her many sisters. She’s an excitable child, with a penchant for marking walls with whatever she can draw. She grasps language easily, and much quicker than anyone would think possible.

But Diana has a duty. She must return to the outside world to assist the league. She thinks of the outside world, how it has taught her, hurt her, but ultimately made her stronger; and she knows that she wants Marinette to have all of that and more. So she contacts an old friend in Paris.

Sabine had left Themyscira many years prior, once Diana had cleared the way for the other Amazons to venture out. She’d fallen in love with a baker, and though the 2 couldn’t have children of their own, they were excellent people. People Diana knew she could entrust Marinette with. Sabine agreed after they discussed it extensively.

Diana would come see Marinette regularly once she was 10, giving the girl some years to mature, and come to terms with her mother’s identity. Diana assured Sabine she’d send any and all support requested, along with letters and gifts for Marinette as she grew. Diana hated to leave her daughter, but seeing as she would constantly be in danger once again, she couldn’t bear to put Marinette through that. Diana tells Sabine who Marinette’s father is, so they can be ready.

Sabine threatens to cut his dick off, which Diana laughs at. Diana and Marinette live with Sabine and Tom for a year, letting Marinette get to know and love them; and then Diana tells Marinette she has to go, the world needs her.

And Marinette just nods, giving her mother a smile.

“I know mommy.”

Good byes and I love you’s are exchanged, and after many tears, Diana finally manages to tear herself away, and she leaves. There is a hole in her heart the size of the Earth, but Diana has a job to do.

This is the world where Marinette lives now too, and she must do all she can to keep her daughter’s world safe.

Clark and Lois get married while Diana is away, and Jonathan is born; he’s only a year younger than Marinette, and 2 years younger than Damian like in canon. Clark is curious as to where Diana disappeared to, asking around, but the only one who knows is Bruce. And when Clark asks, Bruce simply shrugs.

“She told me she’d be gone for a few years. I didn’t press her for details. Everyone needs a break, Superman.”

Clark didn’t like it; he was worried. For her to disappear so abruptly… Surely she hadn’t truly loved him? Clark hates himself as he thinks about it, regret permeating him. He does his best to not think about it.

At least until Diana shows back up, 4 years later, and a little more jaded than she used to be. Bruce welcomes her back with a small smile, and a nod. Diana doesn’t even look at Clark.

And for Clark, it’s enough to just know that she’s safe. He doesn’t blame her for hating him; he kinda hates him too.

Literally none of the League know about Marinette; Diana doesn’t tell fucking anyone.

Miraculous canon happens as normal, only difference is that Lila is fucking gone after the Volpina incident. She’s gone after that, no return, nothing. I hate that girl, and honestly, I just wanna write something where Marinette’s friends love her, without the class drama. I can’t forgive the Miraculous writers for doing that to the students. Chat is still pretty pushy in his pursuit of Ladybug, but not in an exaggerated way. However, it does still cause some eventual complications that he needs to learn and grow from. Minimum bashing should be involved, and it will be centered around pointing out the toxic things he does, and him correcting those behaviors. Adrien is my boi and I love him.

ANYWAY.

When Marinette is 10, Diana shows up to see her. Marinette has known that Sabine wasn’t her real mother; Mari still calls Sabine Maman though cause like… the woman raised her, duh. Marinette loves Diana, even though she doesn’t remember what her mother looks like. Diana always remembers her birthday, and all of the holidays; Marinette has saved every letter, and gift her mother has ever sent her. She doesn’t realize her mother is Wonder Woman yet. Well, at least until she shows up on her 10th birthday. Marinette recognizes her as the heroine instantly, but says nothing; she’s seen movies, she knows secret identities are important!

Over the years, Sabine has kept Diana informed on the progression of Marinette’s… abilities. Look, the girl is a split between the Amazonian princess, and a Kryptonian. God only knows what she’ll be able to do. So far, Marinette has displayed signs of super strength and speed, and most recently flight; she’s got the enhanced senses as well, and she carries ear plugs with her when they go out. Diana is happy to know though, that Marinette has a strong sense of right and wrong. She owes Sabine a great debt of gratitude, and knows she’ll never be able to thank the woman enough for raising their (because yeah, Marinette is theirs now) daughter.

(Marinette goes to school, excited to tell everyone about her 2 mommies and her daddy. Despite Diana not being romantically involved with them…. Yet???? Maybe????? HMMMM)

After Marinette turns 10, Diana makes a point to visit every spring for her daughter’s birthday, and to check in on things. The day of Marinette’s 14th birthday, Diana steps off of the plane, and on her way to the Dupain-Cheng bakery, she witnesses her first akuma. Preparing to step in, Diana freezes when Ladybug and Chat Noir appear on the scene.

Diana recognizes Marinette on sight, and the spots are familiar. She remembers her mother, the stories of Tikki, and the adventures they had, the evils they stopped. She remembers how anxious her mother was during her pregnancy, when Diana could not stop drawing, writing, whatever she could be doing.

Marinette is a pure soul of creation, born of Tikki’s essence, and she is Diana’s daughter, an Amazon, and half kryptonian.

Diana watches her daughter fight, hands clenched at her sides. The Amazon in her demanding she see this through, watch her daughter be the fierce warrior she is meant to be; the mother in her is clawing at her throat, preventing her from speaking with the force of her panic.

And Marinette is an excellent fighter. Diana recognizes many of the moves she used to practice while they were still on the island, and they’ve been refined, polished, and put on display to show the world. It had to be Sabine’s handiwork, teaching her this. Did Sabine know she was Ladybug? No, she would’ve told Diana first thing.

Diana does not intervene, watching Ladybug win, and undo the damage.

Once the akuma is dealt with, Diana follows her daughter as she swings away and finds a quiet place to de-transform.

“My little light, you have exactly 2 minutes to tell me what is going on.”

Marinette jumps a mile, whipping around to see her mother, and then Tikki is smiling, hugging Diana’s cheek.

“Diana! It’s been too long!” Diana gives the kwami a smile.

“Hello, Tikki, mother misses you.”

Marinette is dumbfounded.

Diana explains everything, about how she knows, and why; tells her about Hippolyta, and her connection to the Miraculous. It was the most exciting and stressful birthday yet.

Diana starts making more regular trips to Paris to assist her daughter when she needs the extra help; since Diana is generally fairly good at keeping her emotions in check, it works out. Marinette works extra hard to make sure she keeps her extra abilities in check.

She uses her powers in small subtle ways; using her flight to get a better distance out of a yo-yo swing, but doing it in a way where it’s unnoticeable to the standard eye. Or using her x ray vision to avoid people she doesn’t want to see. She lets herself be clumsy, and careless with her movements in her daily life, making sure none of her friends can ever make the connection between her and Ladybug later on; before Ladybug, she’s clumsy so she doesn’t draw attention to her powers. The only one who knows she has powers is Nino.

It’s hard to explain to your childhood friend why you’re flying after all; he had been there the first time she’d accidentally used this new power. OOPS

All abilities/side effects Mari has:

-Super strength

-super senses (hearing, sight, smell, etc ((is taste usually included in this???? hm)))

-Enhanced vision (x-ray, thermal)

-Flight

-Super speed (bout as fast as Superman if she tries hard enough)

-Ladybug luck

-Martial arts/various fighting styles

-Amazon swordfighting & archery

Side effects:

-Sluggish in Winter thanks to Ladybug things; will hibernate if she gets too cold

-Has bursts of creative energy that keep her up far longer than she should be; usually crashes afterwards; these will stop as she gets older, and gets a better handle on her Ladybug powers.

-Gets sick easily during the cold months

-Kryptonite hurts her, obviously; she gets a wicked migraine, and nausea; usually her vision gets bad too.

Marinette’s personality doesn’t change all that much, really. She’s still undeniably kind, and selfless, always going out of the way for her friends. She’s a bit more vocal about her sense of justice, not putting up with bullies. Chloe gets her redemption a bit early because of this. Marinette is also not afraid to just absolutely throw down and brawl if you’re being a violent asshole. Like, damn. She is tiny, but she will miss you up.

ANYWHO.

With Diana making frequent trips to Paris, it catches Bruce’s eye, and he of course gets suspicious. The French government has been keeping the situation with the Akumas under wraps for about 3 years now, no news escaping the country. Marinette is currently 16, Diana has been helping her deal with hard to handle akumas for 2 years; Damian is 17, and Jon is 15.

So when Bruce looks into Diana’s activity in Paris, he’s startled to find little to nothing about Wonder Woman. An article briefly mentions something called an ‘akuma’ but then there’s no further mention. Instead he finds records of Diana Prince shacking up with a married couple and their daughter.

When Bruce finds a picture of Diana standing with the Dupain-Chengs, his breath leaves him. She is staring at the girl in the picture with such a proud adoring gaze, and he would have to be blind to miss the resemblance. The girl’s age lines up with when Diana left, and Bruce remembers how unusually concerned Clark had been about her location.

He’s the world’s greatest detective, and the pieces are too easy to put together.

SO Bruce Wayne does what Bruce Wayne always does.

Finds a way to get information.

He invites Francois-Dupont to his yearly student seminar, meant to help students get a jump start on their careers. They must prove why they deserve to attend, like all the schools invited, in the form of an essay, accompanied by a video of their school.

Mlle. Bustier’s class is selected as the class to make the video representing the school; Marinette and Alya volunteer to head the project with audio assistance from Nino, while Adrien offers to help with the budget. The class comes together to offer some kind of assistance or another, even Chloe, who goes out of her way to help the class plan. Marinette writes the basic video out, how it should look, what it should say.

But they need a narrator.

The class unanimously votes for Marinette.

“You know us better than anyone, Nette. It’s gotta be you.”

“Everyone knows you here, Mari; you’re the sweetest girl in the school.”

“A WELCOME VIDEO!”

It’s Alya who shouts it, grinning at the class.

“It’ll be a welcome video with Marinette showing a ‘new kid’ around!”

Marinette’s gotta admit, it’s genius; the class agrees, and planning begins in earnest now that they have a better idea for it.

All of their carefully laid plans fall to pieces when their high end camera breaks the day they need to film. Everyone is shouting, stress is high, and Rose is crying. Marinette knows she needs to do something before an akuma shows up, but then she hears a yelp, and she looks over to see a first year stumble back as Kim knocks into her. Marinette’s there in an instant, steadying the girl on her feet, and giving her a smile.

“Are you ok?”

She’s unaware of Adrien watching her with a fond smile, while he elbows Alya; Alya stops yelling at Chloe long enough to look over, and quickly take her phone out, and press record. The classes attention immediately shifts, the tension all but disappearing.

The first year nods hesitantly.

“Y-yes I’m ok. It’s just my first day here, a-and I’m…” The dark haired girl bit her lip, looking at the floor, “I’m really scared.” Marinette frowned for a moment before she smiled, and took the girls’ hand.

“I’m Marinette, what’s your name?” The girl sniffled, rubbing at her eyes.

“My name’s Bridgette.” Marinette nodded, her smile growing.

“It’s nice to meet you. Sorry about my friend Kim over there. He gets a little excitable sometimes.” Bridgette offered her a smile.

“It’s ok. It looked interesting so I wanted to get closer, but I wasn’t paying much attention.” Her eyes fell, and she looked off to the side, but Marinette gripped her hand gently, causing her to look up.

“I can show you around the school if you like. Everyone here is really nice, I promise. We look after each other the best we can, and you can always ask one of us for help.” Marinette gestures to her classmates, who offer Bridgette encouraging smiles. It’d been awhile since they’d seen Marinette work her particular brand of magic. Bridgette’s smile grew, and she finally nodded.

“I’d really appreciate that, Marinette thank you.” Marinette simply waved her off.

“It’s fine! We’ll make it fun!” She turned to her class, missing Alya hiding behind Adrien, still recording.

“I’ll be back in a bit guys. Come find me when you get the camera replaced.”

The camera panned around Adrien’s back as Marinette turned away, and began leading Bridgette further into the school. Alya hurried to catch up, the class following shortly after.

Marinette showed the young girl all around the building, from her homeroom class, and to each individual classroom so the girl would never be lost. And she talked to her, learning that Bridgette had just recently moved there from Italy, escaping her old school and the torment she’d endured there. It burned Marinette to know that someone had been so cruel to such a sweet girl, but Bridgette assured her it was fine since she wasn’t there anymore. Marinette in turn, assured her that no one at Dupont would ever treat her so cruelly. And if anyone did happen to do so, she should come find her immediately.

Bridgette laughed, flushing pink.

“Thanks, Mari!” Bridgette’s gaze grew wistful, “It’s been awhile since I’ve laughed with a friend.”

And Marinette was resplendent in her joy, pulling the girl into a gentle hug.

“We’ll look out for you, Bridgette. You can count on us.” The girl returned the embrace, nodding. After a moment, the two girls pulled back, and Bridgette smiled.

“Thanks for caring, Mari.” Marinette shrugged, giving her a smile.

“You’re worth it, Bridgette, remember that.” She nodded her head towards a classroom, “But you should probably get to class now. I think you’re really late. I’ll have a talk with Mr. Beaumont about why right after my class and I finish this project, ok? Just tell him Marinette will explain, and he should understand.” Bridgette nodded, thanking her again, before kissing her cheek, and heading to her classroom. Marinette watched her go with a smile, and sighed, before turning to head back to her class.

Only to promptly freeze at the sight of them behind her, grinning in glee, Alya at the front, phone held high.

Marinette flushed bright red.

“Guys, what’re you doing?” Alya clicked end on the recording and grinned at her best friend.

“Getting our video of course!”

Marinette was certain she was going to die. Or combust on the spot. God, what if she actually did though, and it was just another damn power to worry about???

Needless to say, she’s embarrassed. But once the class reviews the video, they find it to be perfect. They were able to stay close enough to hear Bridgette’s and Marinette’s conversation, and hear Marinette explaining things to her. Nino took the audio and boosted it in certain parts, and making sure to edit out any personal information the girls discussed during the tour.

The video coupled with the 15 page essay Marinette submits secures their spot in the seminar.

Meanwhile, when Diana hears Marinette gushing about their school being invited to the annual Wayne Seminar, she is immediately suspicious. She finds Bruce within the day, appearing in the Batcave with no preamble; Bruce is waiting for her.

He offers her a drink. And Diana sighs, because he definitely already knows; so she accepts his drink, and they sit.

And they talk.

He asks why she didn’t tell him, he would’ve helped her. And Diana laughs, and it’s surprisingly good natured.

“Bruce, you would’ve killed him back then. Don’t think I don’t know how much you two hated each other back then.” She sighed, “You idiots were finally about to be friends, and if I’d told you what he’d said, what we’d done…” She snorted, “I was quite sure you would’ve killed him.” Bruce didn’t deny her accusations, nor did he accept them.

“What’s she like?” And Bruce watched Diana’s whole body relax, a small smile on her face as she swirled the liquor in her glass.

“She is the best thing that has ever existed for me in this world. She’s my little light, and I will see that this world is safe for her.” Bruce thought of his sons, his daughters, and he nodded.

“And her powers?” Diana’s grin grew broad, and she raised her fist.

“She is strong, Bruce. The strongest.” Again, Bruce nodded, having a drink from his glass as Diana stared him down, “If you hurt her while she is in your care, Bruce, we will have problems. You know this?” Bruce sat his glass down, reaching for the bottle to refill his cup.

“I know, Diana. My intentions are purely curious, I promise you.” He smiled, a small upturn of his lips, “She was the star of their video, you know.”

He shows her the video the class submitted, edited to include the class singing the praises of their class president as an intro, before it cut to some footage taken on a cell phone. It followed Marinette around as she guided a younger student around the school, offering advice, and going out of her way to help the girl. The footage ended with the girl’s blushing face before it cut to an outro featuring the Journalist of the class, Alya Cesaire. Alya had said that since Marinette was writing the essay, she knew her friend wouldn’t include her own good deeds, and since Alya was in charge of the video, she’d take care of it here.

And Diana watched her daughter’s best friend proudly declare Marinette’s achievements, and her aspirations; the good she’d done, and the bad she’d prevented, or outright ended.

Bruce pretended not to notice Diana’s tears.

OOF I DID NOT MEAN TO WRITE THAT MUCH OF THAT WOW

Ok so anyway, trip to Gotham gets secured cause of all that. Master Fu will send Kaalki with Marinette as an assured countermeasure against akumas, and Diana promises she will stay in Paris while Marinette is in Gotham. This assures Marinette that between her mom, Viperion, and Ryuuko they could hold their own until she could get there.

To Gotham! YAY!

They land mid afternoon, check into the hotel, and fucking sleep. That’s it.

Next day, they have a guided tour of the Gotham Natural History museum, which is super dope, and everyone is excited; except for Chloe, because even redeemed she’s kind of a brat. I love her. Marinette meets Tim first in this one. Tim is at the Museum because as CEO of Wayne Enterprises he is donating something to the museum. They bump into each other, and she knocks him down.

Tim is kind of stunned cause this tiny pixie like girl just knocked right into him and didn’t even budge, holy shit. And Marinette is stumbling over her words as she apologizes, and helps Tim up, and wow, that is one hell of a grip for someone that size, what the fUCK. Tim is properly dismayed, but waves off her concern good naturedly, saying he shouldn’t have been standing in the middle of the hallway like an idiot; Marinette flushes brighter, insisting she should’ve been paying more attention.

And then Jason shows up, cause like damn Tim, what the hell is taking you so long?

Looks at Marinette.

Hey isn’t she a bit young for you, Drake?

(in another timeline this would probably be a fun Timinette AU, I won’t lie. hmmmmmmm…..)

Tim rolls his eyes at Jason’s antics, offering Marinette a grimace.

‘Sorry about him, he’s deplorable. Again I’m sorry for running into you’

Marinette laughs it off, shaking her head

‘I’m so sorry for knocking you down. I’ll make sure to pay more attention.’

Tim and Jason leave, Jason offering her a wide grin and a little wave; Marinette just shakes her head in amusement, and catches up with the class.

MEANWHILE, SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE MUSEUM

Damian and Jon are hanging out; Jon has decided to come and pester him since his school, Metropolis Prep, is also invited to the seminar, and Damian likes his friend, he really does, but *god* he is suffering right now. Jon is making comments left and right, and Damian is about to lose it.

‘Ooh, am I making you mad, Wayne?’

Damian glares at his friend.

‘Stop talking. My head is killing me, and I am *this* close to killing *you*.’

Jon just laughs, and Damian rolls his eyes.

After awhile of wandering around, looking at things, they go get some lunch in the cafeteria. There’s a large group of French students taking up one of the tables, one dark haired girl standing while the others are sitting; there’s a map and a notebook spread out in front of her. Damian watches as she smiles at her classmates, writing things in the notebook, while marking things on the map.

‘Oh, that’s cool!’

Damian looks at Jon, ‘What?’ Jon grins.

‘They’re planning on what they want to see while in Gotham.’

‘How do you know?’ Jon rolls his eyes as they get some food.

‘Damian. I have super powers, idiot.’ Damian snorts.

‘Doesn’t explain your incompetence though.’

Both boys miss the wide eyed stare Marinette is giving Jon from her table.

She hadn’t MEANT to hear him, but when you can hear pretty much everything, eavesdropping is inevitable; doesn’t mean she has to like it though.

Also, wow that boy looks so much like her?? How weird.

She and the class finish planning other places they’d like to go, while Marinette turns the list of locations into Miss Bustier for her to review. They had a basic schedule set up, but their teacher had allowed them to see Gotham for what it was before finalizing things.

After lunch, their tour resumes, and Jon and Damian find themselves along the same path as Marinette’s class. They’ve moved past some of the older cultural items, and are entering the room of heroes and villains. Wax replicas of Batman, all of the Robins’, Black Bat, Batgirl, and various big name villains line the walls. Damian was on edge the entire time, not quite listening to Jon’s rambling.

And well OF COURSE something goes wrong, because you can’t have the Dupont kids go anywhere with no problems.

Two Face steps down from where his figure used to be, unloading his gun into the ceiling. He thinks he’ll have an easy time taking this French class hostage.

He is not prepared for these kids.

Alix and Kim tag team a couple of his henchmen with support from Max who has outfitted Markov with some new tech as well. Juleka (who has been tapped for the Lion Miraculous before) and Rose (who’s used the Mouse) take one down, while Ivan smashes two more henchmen together, shielding Mylene. Alya takes the knees out another one while Nino comes across his jaw with a hard left cross. Nathaniel is in front of Sabrina, shielding her when Chloe comes down hard on the henchman in front of them.

Adrien and Marinette go for Two Face, each of them a bit surprised at how the other moved.

And Damian is shocked stupid, watching this French class absolutely decimate one of Gotham’s finest rogues.

Meanwhile Jon is stuck staring at the duo. Between looking at the cute blonde boy, or the dark haired girl who is *WAY* stronger than she looks; especially if she can throw Two Face around one handed, damn.

And Marinette is more concerned with keeping her friends safe than hiding her abilities, and she probably moves too fast, and uses too much strength; her classmates buy her excuse of her extra martial arts classes outside of class.

Damian however does not.

And then the police show up, shocked to find this group of criminals subdued by a group of foreign teenagers.

The second Damian is out of the museum, losing Jon for a moment in the chaos, he calls his father.

“Why didn’t you tell me there was a meta among that French class you invited?”

Damian can practically his father shrug.

“It’s not my business to tell, Damian. Just talk to her.”

He growled as his father ended the call; the man knew something, he knew it.

And thus begins the chronicles of Damian trying to figure out WTH is going on with Marinette; which leads to friendship. Damnit.

This is where the typical getting to know you Daminette stuff will happen.. Including dates, and identity reveals.

The biggest conflict of this is honestly dealing with Superman when he finds out. Marinette has known who her father was since she was 10 years old, when she learned her mother’s identity; but Diana didn’t officially tell her until her 14th birthday, after the akuma incident.

“No more secrets, little light; I will tell you everything.” Diana had said; and she had.

Marinette is glad to have Tom, because wow her real father sounds like a dickhead.

When she officially meets Jon (Damian introduces them), she immediately realizes ‘well fuck, I have a little brother???? And he’s best friends with the boy I have a crush on, shit.’

Anyway, Superman finds out Diana had a daughter, their daughter, after the trip to Gotham concludes, and he immediately heads for Paris as Superman. He finds Diana as Wonder Woman talking to a young girl in Red with black spots, but Superman is set on speaking to Diana as he lands, and starts striding up to her.

“We need to talk.” Diana stares at him dispassionately as he walks up.

“I have nothing to say to you. Leave.”

Clark reaches out for Diana’s hand, only to have his wrist grabbed by the girl in red; who is glaring up at him fiercely. Wow her grip is tight…

“If you touch my mother, I will decimate you.”

And Clark is reeling, because holy shit, this is his daughter; his and Diana’s blood. And Clark just looks at Diana, conflicted.

“Why didn’t you tell me, Diana?” Diana shrugged.

“Telling you would not have changed the outcome. I have always wanted a child, and she is everything I need of this world. Why would I tell you?”

“Because she’s my blood too! She’s kryptonian!” And the girl growls, and then she is hovering in front of his face, blocking his view of Diana. Her eyes are a blazing blue behind her mask, and Clark realizes: she can fly.

“I may share your blood, Superman, but I am not Kryptonian; I am an Amazon. I am Ladybug. And I will not listen to you berate my mother for her choices. She told you to leave, and I can assure you, I won’t be as nice when I demand your absence.”

And Clark is just. Stunned. Because yeah, that was definitely an Amazonian level threat she just gave him; but he’s Superman, and yeah, she’s his daughter, but how strong could she be? Should he push the matter?

Clark watches as other heroes slowly appear behind the girl; One clad in orange, one in green; A fox and turtle respectively. Then there’s the one in black, green eyes narrowed at him; a feral cat, it looks like. Then there’s the one in yellow and rusty orange, a snarl marring her lips; a Bee?? Or a Hornet?? The final two are teal and red, a boy and a girl; a snake, and a… dragon?

What has his daughter been up to in Paris?

Grief swells within him, and he sighs.

“Ok, I’ll-”

Ladybug screams.

“Hello Superman, I am Hawkmoth.”

And that’ll be the final fight of this fic I think! They’ll beat akumatized Superman (batfam Zetas in to help, and so does Jon and Connor), and then Clark leads them to Hawkmoth’s base, and Gabriel is dealt with, along with Nathalie. Marinette and Adrien will both do university in America, with Adrien learning under Bruce about business along with Damian (the 2 become surprisingly good friends after a point), and Marinette accepted Audrey’s internship while she goes to school in New York. She frequently pops over to the manor to see the Batfam.

I’m gonna work on the Timinette version of this next; that ship is so adorkable and I *LOVE* it
