Byakuya x Kenpachi — Divorced

Were married for a long time after Hisana and before the events of Ichigo in the SS.

They try to hide how much they still care for each other from pretty much everyone, not wanting to show any signs of weakness. But in private moments they'll let their affection briefly show through.

Byakuya insists on staying co-parents to Yachiru. They meet up every weekend so she can spend time with both of them.

Their sparring sessions in the 11th division training hall got more intense during their divorce proceedings. Now they try to avoid direct combat with each other to keep things civil for their tasks as shinigami. (Not in Hueco Mundo tho)

Deep down they both know they still make a powerful team when working together on important missions for Soul Society. But they're too proud to openly admit it.

They divorced due to their clashing personalities. Byakuya valued tradition and order, while Kenpachi hated rules. This caused many arguments.

Despite their divorce, they still have a bit of respect for each other's strength. They may have a rematch when they cross paths to relieve stress.

Their lieutenants, Renji and Yachiru, like to gossip about their former captains' marriage. Renji keeps that sweet tea to share with his friends, (Byakuya found out and lowered his wage)

Very late at night, Byakuya would find Kenpachi training alone and join in without a word, fighting with such passion that reminds them of why they were once attracted to each other. But when the sun goes up they go their separate ways again without speaking of it.

They still keep those matching bracelets Yachiru made for them

a common theme for byaken that i noticed after i started my own fic and started reading other fics is that kenpachi calls byakuya princess which is so perfect however i had written kenpachi calling him prince before even knowing i just think this is one beautiful headcanon that unites us all

Well this is pretty solid evidence. Kenpachi's older than Shunsui and Ukitake. Shunsui wasn't around for the war -- Kenpachi was around BEFORE the war.

And people still try to say that Kenpachi and Byakuya are in the same age range?? Very clearly not!! Byakuya is NOT that old, guys. He's young by soul society standards. Kenpachi is most definitely older than Byakuya's dad. Not the same age range at all. As if that fact wasn't obvious before, this one image makes it abundantly clear.

Kenpachi is one old fuckin geezer.

Intro 2 the AU

Hello everyone, I came up with this AU while studying for finals,

And now that finals are over,... I can start working on it!

So, Let's begin with the characters!

Mylder

Mylder, (aka Komaeda in this AU) is a Mymble who ran away from home to live on a tropical island because he doesn't want anyone in his family to be cursed by his strange luck.

His personality is pretty much just regular Komaeda. Y'know, calm, pessimistic, willing to be a Stepping Stone, all that stuff.

He's the The 4th Oldest child in the Mymblefamily,

With Little My being the first, Mymble JR being the second, Snufkin being the third, and him being the fourth.

He first found out about his luck when fishing one day at sea.

He had caught lots of fish but most of them jumped out of the bucket and swam back into the sea. He decided to not try and catch them again because it was getting quite late and he had to go home.

Each day he came back to fish again, his luck became Better and Worse at the same time!

being worried that his luck might affect those around him, he sailed away on a boat to live on a tropical island. and left a note in his room saying:

"Dear Family,

I have to sail away from home for a while to find a new place for me to live.

I'm very worried that my strange luck might affect us in a bad way, so I'm leaving home until I can figure out a way to live with this newfound ability.

I might visit durning holidays to celebrate with you all.

- Sincerely, Mylder."

And after a few days of sailing on the open sea, he'd find a nice tropical island to live on.

So, he docked his boat on the shore and began exploring.

and while exploring the island, he found a cave and set his things up in there, making it his home.

oh yeah and he wears a pot over his head and a stitched up green tattered button-up coat with red patches or whatever.

Bjaken

Bjaken {pronounced, Byaken} (aka Togami in this AU) is a Fillyjonk that was supposed to be on a business trip, but the ship got into a storm and he washed up on the island, not long after Mylder had arrived there.

His personality is again, literally just regular Togami. Cold, Manipulative & Thinks he's better than everyone.

He, also like regular Byakuya,

Had fought to be the Heir of the Togami Corporation and won, gaining all of his family's wealth and running the company.

He's the tallest out of all three of the antags.

He was going on a business trip on his own private Ferry ship, until a large storm had brewed and knocked him and all of his belongings into the sea, and washed him up on the shore of the island about a day after Mylder arrived there.

After he met Mylder, wandering around the island,

The boat that Mylder came to the island on, had been brought away by the high tide, aimlessly floating around the open sea.

He.. Didn't take too kindly to Mylder's Strange luck but decided to get used to it after a month of being there.

His suit was all tattered thanks to some rocks and his glasses have a crack in the left lense.

he also used the cloth pieces from his torn-up suit as firewood.

Kotki

Kotki (aka Ouma in this AU) is a Mumriken who also washed up on the shore of the island, but he arrived sleeping in a basket full of laundry.

Once again, he acts like regular Kokichi.

Sassy, Arrogant, Mischievous and A Little Shit.

He's the shortest out all 3 of the antags and likes biting and climbing the other two sometimes.

He can be quite greedy and eat all of the food himself without considering the other two.

He came from an orphanage and decided to use the laundry basket as a boat and sailed away on the river stream next it.

He was getting a bit tired after a few minutes and decided to sleep in it.

Next thing he knows, he's on an island with two other people.

he arrived 3 months after the other two and wears the clothes in the basket sometimes but, he mostly wears the checkered robe he had back at the orphanage.

Him and Bjaken dont really get along well but they manage to not kill eachother,...yet.

Shunsui and Juushiro

Rukia: that one is pretty obvious

Renji: yeah, everyone knows they've been married since forever.

Rukia: I remember when I realised they were together. It was a warm, autumn afternoon and I had just joined the squad and Kyouraku taichou came by and he drew Ukitake taichou out into the courtyard and then they began dancing under a tree with leaves falling all around them. There wasn't even any music playing!

Rukia: it was so sappy and cute!

Rukia: they've raised my standards so high it has ruined my dating prospects forever.

Kenpachi and Byakuya

Rukia: I am glad Nii-sama found love again.

Renji: it's gross.

Rukia: *gasps* Renji!

Renji: no think about it. Kuchiki taichou is my present captain and Zaraki taichou was my former captain. It's kinda like thinking about my parents having sex!

Renji and Rukia

Rukia: *stares*

Renji: *blushes*

Rukia: umm-

Renji: yeah so

Rukia: I- I mean... I guess the height difference is cute between us.

Renji: yeah... And we've known each other for so long and so well.

Rukia: yeah... You can see why, you know

Rukia: *wiggles hands*

Renji: yeah...

Rukia: yeah...

Renji: *manic giggling ensues*

Ichigo and Orihime

Renji: *slams fist* ADORABLE!

Rukia: *unfurling 'Ichi + Hime 4eva' banner in the background*

Ikkaku and Yumichika

Rukia: O.O

Renji: see this one I knew before you!

Rukia: I didn't think anyone in squad 11 was capable of love.

Renji: that's discrimination against barbarians I'll have you know!

Renji: anyways they've been together longer than they've been Shinigamis. They're very happy actually. And very horny. Like, all the time.

Tatsuki and Orihime

Renji: if that ain't a boss ship!

Rukia: honestly, if Tatsuki was a Shinigami, she'd have stormed Hueco Mundo and sorted out Aizen and his minions in like two business days.

Renji: Two? Pfft that's a bit much!

Rukia: it's the power of lesbians, Renji. You won't understand.

Byakuya and Renji

Rukia: *looks down*

Rukia: I mean- Nii-sama should be with whoever makes him happy and if Renji does...

Rukia: that's great... I guess...

Renji: *blushing*

Renji: Kuchiki taichou is very pretty though I'd never think he would be interested in me like that.

Renji: all Kuchikis are so pretty.

Renji: hey Rukia, is it some sort of a requirement or something? Like you have to be breathtakingly beautiful to be a Kuchiki?

Rukia: ... All Kuchikis are breathtakingly beautiful?

Renji: every single one I know.

Grimmjow and Ichigo

Rukia: ... Why

Renji: that's FRATERNISING with the ENEMY

Renji: ... Though I'll admit Grimmjow looks hot or whatever

Rukia: yeah. His body is so hot.

Renji: and his eyeliner. Perfect.

Rukia: and his abs...

Renji: his hair looks very pretty too.

Rukia: yes! And his body is so hot!

Renji: ...

Renji: *shrugging the top of his shihakusho off*

Renji: so you like ripped men, huh?

Chad and Ichigo

Rukia: hmmm if someone can keep that douchebag grounded and sane, it's probably Sado.

Renji: *snorting*

Renji: you clearly don't know Sado at all then.

Gin and Rangiku

Rukia: they were cute till Ichimaru started plotting murders, my murder, to be specific.

Renji: I know someone leagues above Ichimaru taichou who'd treat Matsumoto-san like a queen. Maybe I'll put in a good word, once she has found peace and moved on.

Rukia and Orihime

Rukia: I'd treat that girl right! So right! Exactly how she deserves to be treated, just you watch me!

Renji: yeah... Yeah, I bet you will.

Toshirou and Karin

Rukia: awww

Renji: that's very cute! Just two... Little kids...? Together...
