AITA for outing my father at his old job?
I (M22) recently got a job hauling hazmat across the US in a semi. I had to take tests to not only receive my CDL, but to know what to do in case of an emergency when hauling things like explosives, flammables, corrosives, etc. The hazardous material part of the test was done on computer on site, however if you fail they let you log in and try again from home. But I passed that part right away because I already knew everything that would be on the test.
My father (M53) worked the same job for the same company and when I was in middle and high school, and pressured me into taking the hazardous material test for him so he could get the job. His reasoning was he had been out of school for so long he wasn't good at studying for tests, but I was used to it. Plus he was dyslexic and ADHD (both true), and he would probably fail the test no matter how many times he tried it because he couldn't read well or pay attention. I said it was probably important for him to know this stuff since it IS hazardous material, but he said he DID know everything he needed to, he was just bad at tests. And that if I didn't take it for him he would fail, and then he would be unemployed, and then we would be out on the street and it would be my fault. So I studied his hazardous materials booklet front to back and took the test for him and he passed.
It didn't stop there, though. With this job you're also required to take refresher safety courses online every week, and you can't get your next assignment till you pass. He used the same argument to get me to take those tests for him every week as well, until I knew everything about the placards and hazmat and road safety etc better than he did.
The trainer (M49) I was assigned was friends with my dad when he worked here, and said something like "If you're as quick a study as your dad then you'll be our best driver," and I said something like "I've been your best driver for almost a decade, you just didn't know it." He asked what I meant and I told him how I was the one taking those safety tests for my dad every week until he quit 3 years ago, and actually he quit because I was moving out and I said no to coming over to his house every week to keep taking the test for him.
I told the trainer because A) I thought it didn't matter because my dad didn't work there anymore, and B) Honestly? I've never really gotten along with my dad, and some part of me wanted to tell on him for one of the many things he pressured me into doing as a kid. I expected to make him lose a friend, maybe tarnish his "perfect" reputation a little bit, but it's gotten a lot bigger than that.
My dad doesn't work with hazmat anymore, but he did have a job delivering food to nearby grocery stores that he apparently lost because that trainer called and told his boss what I told him, and my dad called me and cussed me out and said because of me he probably would lose his CDL and not be able to be a truck driver anymore, and that's all he knows. He's not exactly rich, either, so he's probably just a couple missed paychecks away from being in serious trouble, and he also lost his health insurance. I for sure didn't mean for it to go this far. AITA?

Hey everyone, so here’s an update.
I’ve been trying hard to move on and start over but it’s been rough, both emotionally and physically. Every day is a struggle, and I can’t seem to get what happened to me out of my head.
It’s feels like whole incident is being played in my head on loop 24/7, and it’s gotten so bad it’s affected my job AND my health. I can’t work commercial semi-truck tires in my state, as it wouldn’t be safe for me, the drivers, and others on the side of the road. It’s a pretty specialized set of skillsets not found at many other industries, not even “regular” car tires… so idk what I can even do in the state I’m in.
On the good news side of it all, I’ve gotten my old man to understand just how badly he and my relatives were treating me, and we’re going to make sure they understand just how badly they messed up.
My uncle (one of the people who beat me) lives in MY family home RENT FREE with his whole household, running a business that isn’t even his, not to mention the uncles of mine at the truck center who robbed me of my hours and abused me both on the job and off work- all of it isn’t even theirs and they seem to have forgotten that. They’ll remember soon enough.
Other than that massive rant, I’ve started with a psychiatrist!!! The guy was horrified at what he saw (the video proof!!!), but nonetheless he thinks there’s more than just hope for me. I’m currently overseas again, mostly because psychiatry is extremely expensive in the US, but also because my old man is putting in the work to be a better person and support me during this difficult time.
I had my doubts obviously, but I’ve seen a complete 180 from my old man and those around him, he’s actually putting in the effort to be a better person. He’s genuinely never done this before, and it shows, but he seriously trying and I say that with 100% confidence. Trust me when I say this, cause I’ve known him my whole life and he’s NEVER done this. Tbh It’s kinda refreshing?
It’s going to be a long and difficult process, but I can see the path to happiness. It’s almost in sight, so I just have to keep moving forward, even if it feels like there’s no hope.
I WILL get better, no matter what. ❤️🩹

Gideon: once an independent owner operator that specialized in oversized loads but was in an accident that destroyed her truck (her super custom show truck that she treated like her baby) she is currently trying to fight her insurance company about the accident so she can replace it but is having a really rough time of it. Decided to team drive because she’s broke as fuck.
Harrow: Also a former owner operator. Lost her license a few years ago due to her mental health issues making her not renew it. Recently decided to get back into it but had to join a second chance company due to lack of recent experience. Decided to team drive because she’s broke as fuck.
Gideon— Old school trucker to the MAX. Has a really really fancy CB radio that she made Harrow install in their truck and tries to talk to people on the road all the time. She doesn’t plan out anything, she used to not keep accurate logs and she will park anywhere she can fit. Hates the stereotype that truckers are fat and works out in the middle of parking lots to show off.
Harrow— Maps out everything. She has a top of the line GPS but she also maps out her trips with actual maps. She’s prepared for EVERYTHING. Whatever problems she might run into she has tools for. Keeps driving her company nuts because she messes with stuff she isn’t supposed to. While Gideon can work on trucks too Harrow is better.
They fight all the time. Gideon is used to smudging her time logs which drives Harrow insane. Harrow simply will not stop unless it’s either 1) time for her mandatory breaks or 2) they’re at their destination, which drives Gideon insane.
Gideon cooks in the truck pretty often. After a couple of years she has a rotation of means she can easily make. Harrow buys meal replacement shakes in bulk and drinks those.
Ianthe is their driver manager and keeps trying to flirt with Harrow. Eventually Harrow flat out breaks her headset and tells her to call Gideon if she needs them. This pisses off Gideon but Ianthe just… never calls her.

I know people have different theories about how Taylor can no longer be controlled by the industry and that is why she keeps on getting "humbled", but I actually think it is darker in some ways.
I think it is because she is a good boss. She has her band (and singers I think?) salaried. They are paid if they are touring or not. They have health insurance. If you read some of Kam Saunder's IG posts and more his stories, this is by far the best he has been treated ever while working for someone. Pay wise and I think otherwise.
And this has been her MO since she started out. Her former banjo player once said he made more working for her than George Strait. And she was like 16 when they started together. Think about the implications in that statement.
And it isn't just the talent, but even the roadies (truck drivers) were given massive bonuses. Like they're all treated well.
She is terrifying to the music industry. She is terrifying because she has proven that you can treat people well, compensate them fairly and still make huge profits. It is why people demand her to "fix" things: she has fixed things internally for people who work for her. They're treated well. She scares everyone because if they followed her, they could no longer use and abuse people by underpaying them and treating them poorly.

A man who hit two women with his pickup truck before driving away has been jailed for three years and nine months.
Christian Matthews, 35, admitted two charges of inflicting and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Danielle Jones and Latiffah Edubri were left seriously injured in the incident on Harris Avenue in Rumney, Cardiff, in the early hours of 2 November 2023.
Matthews was acquitted of attempting to murder the two women.
Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard that Matthews, had left his parents’ home on Harris Avenue to buy cigarettes before he struck the two women with his black Mitsubishi.
Neighbours reported hearing a bang and went outside to help.
The collision was also caught on CCTV.
Instead of stopping, Matthews continued on to a nearby petrol garage before later driving to a friend’s house where he was eventually arrested.
Prosecutor Matthew Roberts KC said both women suffered significant injuries, causing them "profound mental and physical effects".
Sentencing Matthews, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke said: "You were depressed, following a breakup, you had not slept and were in no fit state to drive."
She added: "I accept you didn't intend any harm, but you drove without looking at the road, accelerating as you did so.
"You knew you had struck someone but didn't even brake, leaving Ms Jones and Ms Edubri for dead."
The jury heard it was not possible to forensically determine the speed at which Matthews was driving, but were told he had been busy "skipping tracks" on the CD player at the moment of impact.
Judge Lloyd-Clarke said: "You remembered pressing play and looking up to see a face and two eyes - you could have been in no doubt you had struck a person.
"Yet you couldn't explain why you didn't perform an emergency stop when you heard the bang."
In a victim statement read out to the court, Miss Edubri described how her independence had been stripped away and that she was having to "learn how to live again".
Suffering with mobility and mental health problems as a result, she added: "The defendant has ruined my life. It feels like we were objects to him."
Ms Jones said in her statement she was "clueless about what had happened and why".
She spent a month in hospital and described it as a "nightmare", saying she felt "crippled, stuck and trapped" due to her injuries.
The court heard the defendant had 11 previous convictions for 18 offences dating back to 2007.
Some of those were for motoring offences such as driving with excess alcohol, driving disqualified and driving with no insurance.
He had also previously been convicted of assault after beating an emergency worker.
Matthews' defence barrister, Caroline Rees KC, told the court that he had been "in a period of crisis" at the time, including "his wedding called off, he was depressed due to problems with unmedicated ADHD".
She added: "He also had financial problems and had sunk into a spiral of alcohol and drug misuse."
Ms Rees said Matthews had written letters of apology expressing his remorse, and had 40 certificates that showed the work he was doing to try to do the readdress his thinking.
Matthews, of Harris Avenue, Rumney, will serve concurrent sentences of three years and nine months, half of which will be spent in custody.
He has already spent 10 months on remand and is disqualified from driving for eight years and one month.

My Story
In December 2017, I was on a call with one of my teachers from the group Trillium Awakening. They asked me for my birthday, time and place of birth, and sent me my Human Design body graph. They talked about how I was a projector, and they were too, how it was a rare type, and that I had a lot of open centers, meaning, I was really open to conditioning from the outside world.
They suggested I check it out and some of its free resources. A small tool too accelerate my spiritual process. Which, by the way, could take up to 7 years.

Yikes! This is cool, but heck if I had the time or money for more of that!
I hardly had enough money to pay for our weekly group calls in a women’s circle - that put a price beyond compare - but stretched me, even at the discounted rate they offered.
No one in my family had put money into spiritual or personal development work, while I was knee-deep in the stuff. To be honest, I didn’t really feel like I had a choice.
Doing work on spiritual development was a choice between “This stuff is so expensive. If I do this I won’t have any money and I will die” and “This stuff is absolutely what I need at this point in my life and that the world needs to evolve so if I don’t do this…I will also die.”
So? It was, as one of my teacher’s Marc Gafni would call, an erotic double-bind.
I made the choice to go knee-deep in work towards spiritual evolution.
I left the teaching world and I worked in the “gig economy.”
My resume had 5 different education companies.
I worked between 1-40 hours a week, and spent half of it driving.
For months at a time I did what I loved - working with kids - and had no “boss” to call me to the office.
Sounds good, right?
Finally free from educational institutions, I saw how life really worked in people’s homes. I saw the truth of District public and charter schools, and, no matter where I went, I taught kids in the way that felt good to me.
Of course, not everything ended well, and some parents and classroom teachers asked me to *get out* on the first day! But…the recognition of my abilities as a teacher *direct* and *instantaneous.* The progress of the children showed in their creativity.
Let’s get real though about this so-called “gig economy” that promised millennials freedom. No boss meant no W-2. No health insurance. No retirement plan. No coffee breaks. No co-workers.
The road was lonely.
Between driving to tutor or babysit kids at their home, substitute teach at a random school in Maryland, or attend a retreat in New Jersey, I started to feel less like a teacher and more like a truck driver. I took up bad habits that I never imagined as a yogi. I ate protein bars with more sugar than a Snickers and smoked the more the occasional American Spirit that even listening to Adi Da podcasts could not save me from.
I felt sad - but who else could see me but myself?
Some of my friends from my “previous life” no longer spoke to me. I felt ashamed I had left the active lifestyle I once had of biking, walking and yoga, but I knew I could not afford it. I paid for retreats by offering to cook batch meals for the sangha.
I lived in a basement apartment in a house owned by an electronic musician that hosted bands from all over the country. My next door neighbor was an indie musician as well with a great wardrobe and occasional clothing swaps with her New Zealand friends. My closest friend made her own jewelry and tye-die. Two blocks away from the thrift store! So… Major perk - getting to listen to and play music on the reg. and get free, cute clothes. Major downside - working all the time with hardly enough cash to pay the rent to show for my good deeds, and sometimes looking “woke up like this” and other time looking like I hadn’t changed out of my pajamas.
OKAY…SO WHAT IS THIS HUMAN DESIGN STUFF AND HOW DID YOU LEARN IT
Okay, cool. So back to the start of the story. My teacher gave me a tool and I don’t think I looked at it for two years.
But then …. the covid, the lockdowns, the confinement , and suddenly we all had no where to go, everywhere to be (on Zoom) and time, too much of it.
How was I ever going to ‘be’ someBODY?
I won’t go into the depth of “the lockdown” story because at this point, we all have one.
But lockdown story did not produce the kind of “free time” that one might really hope for, unless, of course, you enjoy “free time” like a character from a Albert Camus novel.
Coincidantalment**, I spent the entire time of “confinement” in two foreign
No exit. Like - am I ever going to get out of this? Am I ever going to escape this like square box my form is trapped inside of, speaking to people in a language no one understands?
Okay. I am going to revisit this Human Design stuff. I am going to learn a language that describes the programming of the human body.
No, this isn’t some weird genetic altering stuff. Au, the contrarie!
A system of empowerment that came along at the right time.
When we are, as David A Temple puts it posed between utopia and dystopia. We are getting the call to know ourselves - NOW - in a progressively globalizing and demanding world. And not just globalizing in terms of “oh maybe this bag of chips I’m eating right now came from a Uyghur death camp and perhaps its made of sawdust.” Okay…maybe that too…but really…Globalizing in terms of the planet - the “PLAN-(N)ET” - has a plan to catch us and we best follow her word…or…else.

So I spent…every day of French class, every morning, looking at the transits (both astro and HD), recording my dreams, reading my graph, reading the Cross of the day, the Gate, drawing the iChing…taking a university-levelcourse on iChing…ok…maybe there was some magic involved…and many sleepless nights…and…yes…going down to the depths of the bottom of the bottom…the rabbit hole…the worm hole…the brain hole…you name it…its the the “dark night of the soul “ and there ain’t no batman to help you sidekick robin so you better be the hero of your own story and save the day.
I can tell you. I’ve been there. There’s no going back.

1- TRANSPARENT AND EASY AS F**** TO LEARN
I like Human Design because it is a very transparent system. If you’ve gotten a reading in astrology or tarot, the “method” or “magic” is usually a little hidden from the person receiving the reading. This is more “Teach yourself your Self” and a reader is more like a guide.
Like a contractor explaining the blueprint of a house from the day it was built. You might not of had the tools to build the house - but you get it. The plan is clear.
It’s not like Enneagram or Myers-Briggs where you take a quiz and find out a type, only to have it change again half-way through your life. Those tools of human development are well and good (but are subjective), and you should use those too. But that’s not what this is.
This system starts with the objective.
And then you have to test it out.
2 - the 100% USE FOR 100%…KIDS

This system, for as weird as the origin story may appear, was built by a teacher. It was built for children and the generations to come.
Anyone who has ever been a teacher (*and hopefully left the profession because they KNOW how the conditioning is happening) for kids under 7 can SEE how easily children and manipulated and cohereced into a “not-Self” program.
They are literally “programmed” to not-love themselves! The sh*t people are paying beaucoup bucks for to *fix* them later in life!
So let’s cut that s-t out before it beings. Let’s raise a generation of kids who don’t need to go to therapy when they grow up to un-do all the trauma that came from their conditioning.
And for you - “grown up” let’s help you re-parent your inner child.
(People always told me I needed to do that. I had no idea how, or the privilege, I felt, to do it.)

The current image of “Jesus on the Cross” is no more than a sacrificial lamb that has you totally tricked into thinking you need to “die” (to the empire) in order to be “saved.”
No. You are a unique balance of light and dark. Although these do move in the 4 directions, they do not always look like a perfect “cross.” More on that later.
BUT The beauty of it …is also that THERE IS a cross. And you can understand it. And you can be and become your own Christ.
Your own Savior. And take back the power into your own life.
I don’t care if you can name me every book of gospel or if you tell me that Jesus was a historical figure or in fact never lived and is a myth in our imagination. Or if Jesus is coming back down from the heavens tomorrow so repent your sinners or oh shit maybe the world really *IS* on fire and maybe the highest court in the land (the UN) and now has “Inner Development Goals” and realizing that maybe infrastructure is not just made of things. It’s made of people. Who hurt. Who feel. Who laugh. Who cry. And is telling people that maybe they should consider working on themselves.
In other words: It’s not just the third world world that needs supported.
I’m not even sure if this has everything or nothing to do with a guy named Zeus with a big white beard who lives in the sky (although, I have had a couple teachers with big white beards that could compete quite fairly with Grandaddy Marx see “The Stoa” for reference)…but I do know this has everything to do with YOU and your unfolding FATE and DESTINY to live a radical life among the stars.
