Some headcannons for my current roadtrip fic

The two best drivers are Apollo and Dionysus, but no one knows Dionysus can drive because he refuses to get a licence

Dionysus also tends to drive like a freak. Like, he will ignore all signs and road restrictions. "The road is empty why would I drive at 50???" And then he bumbs it onto a 100.

Apollo is the opposite. He follows all the rules. All. Of. Them. Dionysus makes fun of him for it.

Two worst drivers are Hermes and Artemis.

Athena refuses to use Google maps because regular maps are better... She can't read regular maps.

Hermes uses a gps behind her back

Ariadne has a roadtrip vibes playlist and it's genuinely a calming playlist

Artemis has a bunch of song memorised from her time with her Huntresses

Artemis and Dionysus argue a lot. All the time.

Dionysus has alcohol for every occasion

Apollo gets tired at some point and Dionysus makes him pull over and hand over the steering wheel

Apollo while terrified at the prospect doesn't argue too much

Dionysus is a better driver than anyone expects. It's actually insane. They're all very very shocked.

Apollo ends up falling asleep and Dionysus keeps taking glances at him and smiling.

They stop at a motel because their car broke down and it lead to too much choas

Dionysus, Apollo and Hermes share a room and Dionysus and Apollo have to share a bed

It goes about as well as expected

Apollo, Artemis and Hermes steal from a convenience store

Athena reprimands them

Athena, also, has all the snack

Hermes, Artemis and Ariadne end up at a gay club while Dionysus and Apollo are lost in the woods

In losing dogs (Athena fic), I gave Aphrodite and Artemis a sub plot about overthrowing the patriarchy or more specifically Hades and Zeus. I had to delete this sub plot as it detracted from the main story which is about toxic father-daughter relationship and abuse cycles.

wind jetpack aside im kinda concerned abt how jorge is going to bring athena back since she doesn’t show up in 600 strike. it wouldve made a lot of sense for her tr reappear and assist odysseus (like in the iliad and whatnot) i think.. mortals cant just overpower gods but a god-powered mortal is a different story (see diomedes). it would also save a lot of cramming in the ithaca saga because they have a LOT to get through and just kinda resolve a lot of things (no need to reintroduce her, shes alive etc)

Chapter 9: Healing

“And that’s what’s happened,” Athena finishes saying. “Huh. . . . . . . . . . Uh, I- I’ll be thinking this over at my loom. . .,” Penelope stutters, still in shock with eyes wide open. “So, dad’s,” Telemachus says, tears forming in his eyes. “I don’t know. But I can’t believe that he’s gone,” Athena says with a determined look on her face, “I just have this feeling.” Penelope exits the room with a cheer from a half drunken crowd. Telemachus follows her out to cover her, so no suitors get any ideas. Athena smiles at the show admiring how Telemachus figures he’d strike fear into the men, well as much as a 13 year old boy could.

That night Athena began to lie down having spent the entire day there attempting to become used to the pain in her left. However before she could rest Telemachus burst in, holding something behind his back whilst having a glowing smile on his face. “Mom’s been teaching me how to sew and so I thought I’d make this for you,” he’s proudly as he thrusts forward a crudely made stuffed owl. More so a pillow with vaguely defined owl aspects, “do you like it?’’

“Indeed, thank you so much,” Athena says, charmed by the pillow's shotty quality. “I thought I’d make you this so it wouldn’t hurt so much when you slept.” A genuine smile crept up Athena’s lips feeling the thought and care that went into the wonderful owl. “Good night Athena!” Telemachus cheerfully yelps like a happy pup, as he exits the room. As Athena lay in bed another familiar voice made itself known, “Time for sleep,” Hypnos buzzed out in his strange accent. “I think I’ll be fine on my own,” Athena says, caught off guard by her visitor sticking his head through the top of the window, seemingly upside down. “I guess you could tr-“ Hypnos begins saying before stopping and quickly taps Athena on the head causing her to instantly fall asleep. “Sleep tight princess,” Hypnos mockingly says while jumping out the window for a second time that day.

Athena woke up the next morning thinking she was still talking to Hypnos. She reached out as if trying to stop someone that wasn’t there only to realize what had happened. She felt embarrassed from letting someone get one over her. She tried to get out of bed only to slip on her pain, having forgotten what it felt like from being coddled by sleep, as she stumbled forward she caught herself with her uninjured arm. She let exhaled frustration form her nostrils. She lifted herself trying to balance on her splitting foot pushing through several grumbles and groans. Once she had gotten steady she ever so slowly began walking towards the door. Step by step she pushed forward, even though her body felt like it was stepping on a splinter the size of a branch each time. She had finally made it to the door having nearly bitten her lip off in trying to focus on something other than the pain. The chorus sang praises in her mind as she finally achieved something that took her a day to do. Walk to the door.

She pushed it open, still wobbling with each push forward. Athena gazed out into the empty dining hall where the suitors typically gathered. Seemed as if they’d retreated to wherever they camped out. She winced as the air brushed against her glowing eye. Athena moved around the house trying to get familiar with its layout when Penelope walked down from her room. “Oh, good morning Athena.”

“Morning Penelope.”

“You don’t have to call my Penelope each time, call me Penny.”

“I'd like to stick with Penelope if that’s alright.”

“Eh, whatever makes our guest comfortable. Oh do you need me to help with your hair,” Penelope said pointing towards the top of Athena’s head. Athena reached up feeling the fraying hairs that were usually curled. “Yes please, that’s be wonderful.”

Penelope led Athena up the stairs into the room her and Odysseus used to share. Penelope pulled over a chair and helped Athena to the floor. She the. Sat in the chair and began to meticulously comb and thread Athena’s hair. After an hour of work Penelope had finished. Athena’s hair now curled to perfection, shocking Athena in awe at her skills. In a moment of admiration and blind confusion Athena said, “Thank you mom,” with such familiarity that an outsider would think they were related. Her face then began glowing red having realized what she said. “I- I- I mean P- Penelope,” she said, tripping over her backpedaling. Athena got caught up in the feeling of finally being a part of a family for once that she had forgotten they weren’t related. “Your welcome sweety,” Penelope said with a mischievous smile on her face.

Athena shuffled out of the room with an awkward smile on her face. Penelope sat there smiling at how awkward Athena acted. It reminded her of when she first met Odysseus. After making her way to the bottom of the steps she decided to wander around the city. As she limped her way through the town she saw a dog laying on the porch of a house, an elderly couple cooking fish, a woman watering flowers she’d taken care of for years, and two boys chasing each other around. She had made her way to the gates. She went through the gate, into the salty air surrounding the beach. She made her way to the sand staring out into the sea.

“He has to be out there,” she says to herself as the waves roll in and out. She then sat down, reflecting. As she pondered the events of the past 2 years a dead fish had washed ashore beside her. She was suddenly ripped away having remembered the siren. What happened to her and why did she help me were the thoughts that shouted in her mind. She leaned down and picked up the fish, taking it with her as she walked back toward Ithaca.

whenever she had gotten back to the palace it was once again flooded by suitors. Astonished by their speed, Athena starred in disbelief. “Oi, you’s a beggar?” Shouted one of the swine, causing the eyes of the men to fall on her. “Maybe she’s ’ere for the throne,” chuckled another. “Perhaps she came to party?” said another in a horrid tone. “Maybe she’s in need of a walking stick judging by that limp,” snarled another. “Boys, boys. Calm yourselves. That’s no way to talk to a fine lady,” said Antinous, attempting to be charismatic. “I don’t need your help,” she said, pushing him aside by palming his face. “Is that your way of saying thanks wench!” Shouted the immature voice. Athena turned around staring down at him, her glowing eye peering at him through the shadows on her face. “Oh big bat wants to say somethi-“ he gets cut off by Athena decking him in the jaw. She turned away heading back to the guest room where she resided as Antinous lay there squirming in pain. Telemachus began cheering for Athena but was shut up by the stares of the suitors.

This night the transition from one day to another wasn’t as seamless as the first. When Athena awoke she could recall hearing singing in her dreams. This continued day after day through the years and so did her growing collection of stuffed creatures made by Telemachus. Each getting better and better, but the first would always hold a special feeling to Athena. She got into several more fights with the suitors when one of them over stepped making sure to keep the family as safe as she could in her permanently debilitated state. Hermes appeared here and there to say hi to his great great grandson and gossip with Athena, albeit he would talk and Athena would listen. Dionysus showed up once attempting to convince Athena to drink, offering that it’d make her forget about the pain she was in, but she declined. Hephaestus would have Hermes send Athena new armor and weapons that he made for her. Hypnos would always annoy Athena each night finding a way to out-wit her so he could help her sleep. She would spar with Telemachus to grow his skills and aid Penelope in weaving.

THEY MEAN THE WORLDDDDD TO MEEEEEE for some reason a lot of people in the fandom don't play Ace Attorney 5 which is fair since it's kind of messy BUT. BUT. IT INTRODUCES ATHENA AND DOES SOOOO MUCH FOR THE WRIGHT ANYTHING AGENCY. In AA4 we learn that Trucy Wright made the Wright Talent Agency into the Wright Anything Agency in order to bring Apollo in as a lawyer when before it was just her (a magician) and her adopted father Phoenix (a poker player). and AA5 is all about Athena joining and Apollo learning how to trust her, at least it is to ME. they're so gooddddd aaaaaaa like you've got Phoenix and Trucy who are weirdos who love to scheme and you've got Apollo their longsuffering guy who deals with it all, and Phoenix is the mentor... and then Athena comes in and she has a lot of light and determination and trauma (just like the rest of them lol) and she's SO determined and I like her a lot!! And Trucy is my favorite and Phoenix cares about her SO much but he also has his other found family in the Feys!!!!!! Mia dies in the first game but her ghost stays with Phoenix and her sister/cousin Maya and Pearl are SO IMPORTANT TO HIM he loves them so much that's his sisters to me ;-; he would do anything for them and Trucy and he's growing as a mentor to Apollo and Athena too as the game progress... They don't write them all perfectly but they sure do a lot of things I like :) also feel free to split this up into their Wright Anything Agency or Phoenix + the Feys or Phoenix + Trucy if you need to I won't mind I just love AA's found family a lot

Picture this. You are a attorney in your mid 20s and somehow find yourself surrounded by weird little girls with every case you take on. You officially adopt one but really, all of them are either sisters or daughters to you. Especially your loud, burger-loving lesbian sister. Your childhood friend turned rival turned lover, who has a whip-wielding adoptive sister of his own, goes on a series of investigations while messing around with a furry for a couple of weeks and returns with two 17 year old children, a thieving lesbian and a child with a narcissistic murderer for a father who should've kept him back in school a few grades. Your lover has each of them under an arm, and they are appended to your stable of weird little girls but are very much hidden in the back. Then you find out that your daughter, the official one, has a 22yo trans half-brother with a musical diva mother and was half raised as a prince in Khura'in, so you divorce his boss (who is not your official lover, you just had a weird thing for a while when you were in your alcoholic phase, maybe while your actual lover was still messing around with the furry) very publicly while sending him to prison for murdering your daughter's father. Oh, but you have been disbarred, so you make your daughter's son send his own boss to prison, by planting false evidence on him. Of course the young man punches you in the face. Needless to say he works for you for a couple of years and never finds out that he's related to your daughter because that would require a straightforward conversation, now wouldn't it?

Theyre very weird and misteruous and kinda fucked up a bit and they were through a lot but phoenix did his best and trucy well she's still just a kid but oh she's trying so fucking hard and always trying to wear a smile and it's breaking my heart the two of them. Also theyre weird i already said that but let me say it again they are WEIRD. and we love them<3 (the ace attorney fandom)

I just want to say

I can never get over Telemachus saying "Pisistratus, joy of my heart" in book 4 of Fagles' tr-n

And also, I remember I read somewhere, that Athena sort of passes her mentorship of Telemachus onto Pisistratus, who becomes Telemachus' close friend (and maybe something else too, but that's already up to your interpretation), as well as a role model on Tele's journey to becoming an adult (becoming a man from a boy, if you will), because that's what that whole trip in search for information about Odysseus essentially was.

These two have such a precious bond 🥺

Also, isn't it hilarious, how Nestor, upon finding out that Telemachus is Odysseus' son, pretty much immediately makes sure that Tele gets acquainted with 2 of Nestor's kids, who, would you look at that, are both around Tele's age and unmarried XD (Pisistratus is immediately set to share a bed with Telemachus (interpret this however you want, but an interesting detail: that moment is immediately paralleled by the Nestor going to bed with his wife, and then, when Pisistratus and Telemachus share a bed again in Sparta, it's paralleled by Menelaus and Helen going to bed together) and then accompany him on his journey, while Polycaste helps him bathe before they leave

Yup! You pretty much summed up the whole thing! If you take into consideration other events that are happening, you can change the meaning of a scene which is really fascinating. Telemachus' and Pisistratus' bond is so much fun and it's time we really acknowledge that hahahha

neethu! as a the rookie fan who is on the edge about watching 911 (mainly bc i am a scorned fan of old ryan murphy shows and have trust issues), i pledge for you to sell me on 911/buddie because i truly need a new summer binge watch that won’t suck my energy dry 🥲

omg becca i can promise you that i'll make it my personal mission to get you into 911 asfdkdld 😌 so, here's why you should absolutely binge 911, coming from a completely unbiased, objective perspective, of course 😌😌

an amazing ensemble cast with really, really talented actors

a group of characters who slowly come together to find their family in each other and they love each other so so much. also the very first episode starts off with the hilariously ironic line��"this is not a family." to really hammer in the famous last words of it all :) now let's get into the characters.

howard "chimney" han — amazing paramedic, manages to be the funniest character on the show while having deep-rooted abandonment issues and trauma, is probably immortal because he has survived things that should have killed any other person

bobby nash — Dad™. the daddest of all dads. best redemption arc ever; has a beautiful journey of realizing that he wants to live. he was born to be a husband and a father :) amateur detective. looks like the sensible one, but he can be just as dumb as the rest. he loves his wife <33

hen wilson — probably the smartest character on the show, and knows everything about everything. she's married to a rocket scientist :)) she is an incredible firefigher paramedic, best friends with chimney (they're platonic soulmates fr) and she looks like she holds the braincell but she will join in on the shenanigans with the rest of the characters in a heartbeat (see: season 6 where she went dumpster diving with chimney to look for a lost ring).

evan buckley — the little brother of the group. he's an ass in the beginning but he gets better i promise. himbo with a heart of gold, he loves kids. he uses recklessness as a means of coping with his deep-rooted childhood trauma. nearly dies every single season. he looks at bobby as a surrogate father. he loves his sister so much. he's in love with his best friend but shhh he's still figuring that out. he loves his best friend's child like his own :)

maddie buckley — give her a break™ she's been through SO much, but came out kind and compassionate and stronger than ever. she's a 911 dispatcher and she's amazing at it. she loves her little brother and basically raised him when they were kids. she's an amazing mom, even if it takes her a while to accept that, and she loves chimney han with all her heart.

athena grant — angela basset does an amazing job with her character; she has some of the best emotional and action moments on the show. she's a cop, unfortunately :( she's best friends with hen, she's a great mom to her two kids and has a really compelling friendship with her ex-husband. she is definitely the one who holds the braincell while everyone else gets up to their dumb shenanigans.

eddie diaz — the love of my life he's an ex-army medic, now a firefighter and above all, a father. he loves his son, christopher, so much. he has also nearly died on multiple occasions, and in season 5, has one of the most beautiful arcs i've ever seen working through his trauma. he had an extremely complex relationship with his wife, shannon. he's come so far in terms of character development. and he's deeply in love with his best friend but by god he will not admit it :)

and as for the other reasons why you should binge the show? the emergencies are absolutely insane and entertainingly unrealistic (there was a tsunami in los angeles). the show knows how to intermix comedy and tragedy in a way that will give you whiplash and have you sobbing. it deals with some very adult, realistic conflicts. it loves to emphasize on the innate goodness of human nature. none of the characters are perfect and have all fucked up badly at some point, but they keep trying. it's a show about second chances :)

OH and since you asked about buddie, well. if you like: a) co-workers who started off disliking each other falling into a deep friendship b) two characters who are partners in every sense of the word, who practically share the same mind c) a ship that has multiple break-up scenes without even getting together d) two characters who are practically co-parenting a child but can't see it e) two characters who go absolutely berserk when the other is in danger f) two characters who act more married than most married couples — then buddie is the ship for you! and honestly, if you like chenford, then you will definitely like buddie sjdkdkd there's a reason i've done at least 4-5 gifsets paralleling them

anyway, this is my official pitch! if you ever actually decide to watch the show, my humble request is that you let me know what you think afterwards 😌

The willing turning of a blind eye I have seen the most consistently is amongst buddie fans who have been here for a while though. That violently homophobic post that went around immediately following the finale was reblogged by quite a few people who have been in this fandom for years, who either completely ignored people calling it out or defended the OP/themselves because “it was just a joke.” And then they and plenty others proceeded to continue reblogging posts from that OP despite their unapologetic homophobia. That post is not even the only instance of homophobia I can think of perpetrated by longtime buddie fans and ignored or even supported by their friends. That is where the blind eye is being turned.

You seem very keen on putting the blame on just one side of the fandom. Listen, I've never claimed nor will you ever see me claim that there aren't #problematic people among the buddie shippers or that I don't wish that a certain subset of people would leave the fandom forever because god knows we'd be better off without them. But that specific post you're referencing got blown so wide out of proportion that I honestly can't believe what a shitshow it stirred. And I wrote enough that I'm putting a read more here so people can easily scroll past if they want to.

Yeah yeah people were tired and sensitive and up in arms after a season finale that didn't deliver quite as much as anyone hoped (that bobby/athena/amir storyline... i'm still dreaming of a better resolution to it, rip). But I'll be honest with you, I did not read that post as homophobic. I read it as a hyperbolic post on the hyperbolic website, and I know that's how a lot of other people also saw it. And I'm not gonna try to say people were wrong to be upset about it because I'm not going to police anyone's feelings, but I can tell you that seeing it all from the outside (coming in hours later) there were at least three strands of discourse that were being tangled into one big ball of hurt feelings centering on this one post, and I stand by my wish that more people had watched the episode right after waking up instead of in the evening and then staying up late at night.

You're allowed to dislike the post and dislike its op for phrasing their dislike of the scene the way they did all you want, but the context that post was made in was not about hating a character for being gay or advocating for violence against gay men and it's disingenuous to say otherwise. *I* don't think it was a post that particularly needed to exist, especially not seeing what happened because of it, but it's since been used the same way people were saying that if you don't ship bucktommy you're biphobic (yes, that's a real take from this very webbed site) and like you're doing here, saying people are inherently bad for interacting with the blog that posted that post. A lot of people have no idea who they are or why other people are expecting them to stay away. They were not part of the Discourse and only saw the aftermath of it, but now it's become some Big Bad that people are assuming Everyone Knows About, and that is simply not true. "The Lusty Stallions." From the Book of Jeremiah, 5: 7-9.

From the Head of the Age springs a leopard, like a goddess Athena ready to hunt down pure things rather than the rotten, what is called a skeezer, "someone in need of aids."

But what if that is not the case at all? What if repentance, atonement, remission etc. do not work? Jeremiah explains what can be found in the Torah that will help, something called a well fed lusty stallion:

7 “Why should I forgive you?     Your children have forsaken me     and sworn by gods that are not gods. I supplied all their needs,     yet they committed adultery     and thronged to the houses of prostitutes. 8 They are well-fed, lusty stallions,     each neighing for another man’s wife. 9 Should I not punish them for this?”     declares the Lord. ���Should I not avenge myself     on such a nation as this?

Recall the goal of Jeremiah is the study of Jewish grammar for the purposes of the Sefer Torah, the innate unconscious abilty to follow the law. The Rabba says we must be loathe to commit adultery as if we do not want to take what belongs to someone else witout a single pang.
