It absolutely was Goldman Sachs – along with Enron– which initiated the carbon trading schemes that helped enrich enviro-troughers like Al Gore. In the event the global warming Ponzi scheme ever fails – and it’ll – subsequently a lot of Cohn’s buddies and former customers stand to lose millions in crony-capitalist “investments” now propped up by Obama-age regulation which Cohn and his cronies are distressed to keep in place.

Of a bit with this are Cohn’s claims about the Paris Agreement – which he’s been attempting to whirl as a benign, mostly decorative diplomatic treaty where the U.S. is pretty much free to do as it picks – either raising or reducing its carbon reduction obligations, according to whim.

Here is how reported Cohn’s take on Paris.

Cohn stressed that Trump’s determination will finally be based on”what’s greatest for the United States.” He throw the arrangement as adaptable enough to adapt decreases in the U.S. obligation that would keep the deal from hindering the American market.

And states either set in new goals or, if they’re in the center of a longer goal interval, they’ve to either revise it upwards or reconfirm it every five years. And also the five-year cycle follows a world-wide stocktake to see where we’re in the aggregate vis-à-vis our long term targets, vis-à-vis what science is telling us. So you’ve got an every-five-year stocktake and then about a year subsequent to the every-five-year stocktake states must either reconfirm and say, yes, I’m going to hold where I ‘m or I’m going to raise where I ‘m or if they’re in the amount of time where they need to place in a goal anyhow, clearly they do. So that was extremely significant.”

“So in the very first set of these INDCs which are going to keep ratcheting upward, again we expect every five years, that there’s already been this huge, huge move.”

“… the construction which you have these five-year review intervals as well as the ratcheting upward cycle of what states are assumed to do assembled into the deal“

Note: this ratchet – as ratchets do – just goes one way, which is up.

Exhibit B: a briefing note to the U.S. State Department from Michael Jacobs – a high degree eco adviser, once Climate Adviser to Prime Minister Gordon Brown – of the Global Commission on Economy and Climate, submitted in 2014 in the runup to Paris.

Paris – as it was certainly understood by individuals who negociate it – and composed was consistently a one way ticket. Otherwise – as this record recognizes – it’d not have any significance: “Otherwise we’ve not actual deal in Paris at all.”

The Obama-era State Department understood this. Negotiators and the attorneys understood this totally well.

Gary Cohn also, undoubtedly, understands this totally well.

Which is just one more reason we all have cause to pray and trust the rumors are accurate – and that President Trump actually is going to stop the Paris climate deal. If he does otherwise, he won’t be draining the swamp: he’ll be feeding the crocodiles and leeches.
