(Extremely minor spoilers for II2 EP17 I guess??)

I think I saw this mentioned on your blog somewhere and I found it really curious. It was something about all the II villains getting redeemed.

I mostly agree with that but it got me thinking about the contestants that were "villains". There's one "villain" contestant that I don't think they ever genuinely redeemed? That being Trophy.

Trophy is a character I enjoy a lot, not for how he is but for what he could have been. If he wasn't voted out so early or was used elsewhere he could have been a genuinely interesting villain. Although, tbh, I fear what they would have done with him considering how shit the writing got for some characters.

He has no redeeming qualities besides the fact he likes photography. Every other piece of his personality is awful. He's arrogant, aggressive, violent, cruel, manipulative, and so on. The only trait written on that "character sheet" MePhone made about him was "SORE LOSER" (which also got written across his "face" area when he was deanimated) so he wasn't even designed to have a single decent trait.

Trophy isn't treated awful by any means but he's also not treated decently?? He's in this weird character limbo where it's like they don't want to touch his character in any genuine way (Ex: Forcing him to share his FFF episode with Box, who's just a shitty joke, instead of allowing us to actually LEARN ABOUT HIM or the short where they just make him pathetic as well as kind of ooc for the personality he was given prior).

From what I've gathered of his character NOBODY at the hotel likes him, he has NO FRIENDS at the hotel, he has NOWHERE else to go, and he's effectively a social outcast / isolated from everyone else. He also got basically tortured after his elimination (trapped in a small, dark space with multiple other people while getting sneezed on constantly. No shade to Tissues with this ofc, he couldn't help it, but it did probably add to how bad it was for Trophy and everyone else in there). Meanwhile, others who have acted WAY WORSE than him get to be redeemed.

Silver Spoon is a genuinely awful person. The things he did were worse than Trophy but he got redeemed. Taco? Also worse than Trophy (although she did get a harsher punishment and more villainized, becoming effectively homeless which... kind of weird the one major female villain gets so much more of a punishment and gets way more villainized than the male ones, huh?) but also seems to be getting a redemption arc like all the other contestant "villains". Nickel was worse than Trophy and seemed to attempt to get redeemed?? (Not mentioning Blueberry or Balloon because I don't remember as much about what they did.)

Even KNIFE was worse than Trophy but Knife got to have a "change of heart" and "get redeemed" but they seem to treat Trophy with these weird gloves. I don't know if maybe it's because the blackmail plot got fucked over due to the viewer voting, they didn't know what to do with him after they couldn't do that plotline, or what but they basically just trapped him.

Trophy was made to be awful but isn't allowed to be better, even when fuckers like Silver Spoon, Nickel, and Knife get to waltz around being "redeemed" when they've all done worse?? It's not even that I want Trophy to be redeemed, I hope he stays awful, but it's so strange to me that their one "villain" contestant who hasn't been redeemed is treated like this.

Okay so the fun thing here is that, meanwhile I found the concept rather interesting, I kinda realized that it clashed a lot with what I generally think of Trophy and his redemption. And outside of my headcanons of him being Microphone's best friend, I think that Taco/phy for the fandom is just kinda.

Putting the worst people you know together and that's it.

And I Don't Like That.

Mostly because it just messes with Trophy's character and Taco isn't on the position to be with anyone at all. Trophy is so much more than an asshole and the fandom misses Taco's character so much I can't even look at her.

Yes, Trophy is compared to Taco by Knife on the manipulation part, but overall, I also just think that they would hate eachother's guts. Even MORE if we go by the headcanon route.

Trophy could murder her pretty much or they could fist fight. They should never meet in canon.

the heart and soul of it is a stupid balls joke and trophy was just like “dude shut the fuck up” and if i remember correctly, they never talked again. that just automatically makes them gay? some dude making a balls joke and being told to shut up? and theres like no miceesy content in the world like at all i’ve seen three oneshots, a few art pieces, and thats it like????? and then i see comedy gold fucking EVERYWHERE and microphone and cheesy are actually friends and they have been for a while now? i don’t know what the community’s problem with miceesy is, its a perfectly fine ship from what i can put together, and its not a proship at all because they’re actually fucking friends, but like the community just. does. not. like. miceesy. i dont understand the whole comedy gold shit but i want it GAWN‼️‼️‼️

There! I said it, I hate him and I wish people didn’t defend him so much.

He had potential to improve and change into a better person, yes, but he never did! So why do you still defend him?

He is a manipulative bastard, proven by the fact that he blackmailed Knife into doing his bidding, treating him like a servant rather than an equal to him. And he’s also just an asshole!

I don’t get why people simp for him, either. He isn’t anything special, and he never will be. He got eliminated early on for a reason..

So.. if anyone reading does the stuff I despise, then please tell me avid Trophy fans.. why do you simp for him and/or defend his vile actions?

Saying about ii, my most hated ships are Trophy x ANYONE and Silvercandle.

Who the fuck is thinking that shipping manipulator and narcissistic guy with someone is a great idea? He loves only himself and he uses people for his own good . Of course, he's pathetic and funny, he's one of my favourite characters too, but seriously... Knife and Trophy hate each other, why they would look good together? i couldn't get 15 minutes into the finale without crying. had to stop and write this. my heart SO goes out to marissa! i relate to her so hard, having been in a weirdly similar situation to her. was also with a two-faced performative leftist Nice Guy who looooooved that i'm a Strong Woman with intense energy in the beginning, and once we moved in together decided actually, i was too much. EERILY similar to ramses.

"that's what every guy feels. they love the first few months of dating me, cause the energy is so fucking great. like i get it, i've heard that before." i wanted to hug her so badly!!!! it's the most vile feeling on earth for someone to use the reasons they used to love you as the reasons they don't anymore.

meanwhile, marissa sees their difference in vibe/energy (ramses being the "calmer" one and marissa being the more intense one) as something to be celebrated and just worked around where consideration is needed. her love supersedes and she doesn't have a need to be in a relationship with someone who is exactly fucking like her.

the poor girl was so shooketh. she couldn't believe how suddenly he changed his mind, from one minute loving everything about her and wanting to get married to wanting to break up the next. god, i understand the whiplash from that shit. she is going to need therapppyyyyyyyy.

we as women need to stop thinking that men are just having a great time in a relationship with us if they haven't brought anything up!! they do not communicate the way we do. women being quiet = everything is fine. men being quiet = everything MIGHT be fine, but he could just as equally be deeply unhappy and plotting his escape/affair. they actually are sociopathic in that they can act like they love us to placate us while they find a way to fade out of the relationship. us women know that if we're done we can't even touch him anymore!

i'm so tired of seeing the pure love of women be fucking corrupted by user men. please understand that a man's emotional landscape may as well be an alien planet, they do not experience love the way we do at ALL. women love unconditionally, faithfully, like mothers. a man's love is conditional to the dopamine he gets from your presence. that's it. and because dopamine and therefore feelings fade in and out, you point blank cannot trust a man to stay by your side throughout all of your seasons of life.

maybe he's good for right now, sure, but don't depend on him being in the picture long term. imagine when you give birth and experience physical and emotional changes, or if you go through an illness, experience a personal loss, etc. most men will not hesitate to cut you loose the moment you don't make him feel good 24/7 anymore and need to lean on HIM. they don't want to be depended on, because dependence = expectations, and expectations = control = loss of freedom to a man. there is nothing more important to a man than the freedom to do whatever the fuck he pleases at all times.

please watch this show as a way to better understand how duplicitous men operate. i don't care if you don't watch reality tv bc you're better than that, neither do i, but this show is the exception.

every SINGLE man on the cast this season has displayed GIANT red flags from day 1 IF you know how to look. there isn't a single man on S7 who i would say is real husband material. whether it's being a liar, unfaithful, hiding things about their pasts, and being actual man children who have never had to lift a finger in their entire lives, it's clear this season that the casting of the men was meant to be a cautionary tale.
