Record 2563. #ThePixies #TrompeLeMonde The Pixies fourth studio album, and for a while appeared to be their last after their subsequent break up two years later. This album was somewhat overshadowed by an album released the very next day called "Nevermind" by Nirvana, who openly credited The Pixies for their loid-quiet-loud song formula. On a Pixies kick the last day or so.  I keep listening to Bossanova.  So many classics on this one- “All Over the World” and “My Velouria” are of course favorites, but “Ana” has been in my head a lot lately.  Trompe Le Monde I hadn’t listened to in a long time, with the exception of the singles.  I listened through the whole record tonight on my walk and there are just so many high notes, especially on the side 2 cuts.  “Olympus Mons” and “Motorway to Roswell” were always favorites.  I still love the way “Palace of the Brine” runs so perfectly into “Letter to Memphis.”  Seems like we get more Kim on Trompe.  I can hardly hear her on Bossanova, but her voice and her bass are much more prominent on Trompe.
