aurynn and tristan would actually be an interesting match, him being the (technically) firstborn son of princess rhaenyra, and in my canon, the north is key to winning the north (alongside the vale and the reach) and they're both northeners and his grandmother per father's side was a mormont, so they'd surely arrange the marriage the moment he's legitimized, and aurynn's storyline wouldn't change much, since he has a tragic end. but i think that they'd make it work and even love each other and aurynn would always remember tristan fondly. he'd def be the best of her three husbands

now for therese and rodrik... everyone's heard of the womaniser rodrik, but once the truth outside those rumours is out, i think that therese would be that female caretaker figure he lacked in his childhood, given that his mother died in childbirth and all he's known is reluctant intimacy from brothel madams. and with her targaryen blood, i believe they could have something passionate and fiery and beautiful, and even if she also dies during the dance and ends up marrying baela nevertheless, like aurynn, would remember her fondly and tell tales of his first wife

T.T "Ser Snow" rip She only shit-talks her mother, Rhaenyra. She's also probs have some non-great things to say about House Dormaire...OH AND! She has dragondreams of the horrors of Old Valyria, so maybe she knows some deep, dark Doramaire secrets??

No one loves Helaena more than Tristan and Mabel, and that’s just a fact😌. Sorry Aegon. Sorry Aemond. Actually not sorry no one can compete with them.

Kind of obsessed with the tension between Mabel and Therese too ngl. The jealousy over Criston (also lol why do you kinda have a point about him) and legitimization and status? Love it. And is it truly unrequited… who can say? (It’s me. I can say. And I don’t think it would entirely be unrequited. Therese told me so.👀)

Darren and Nadya is actually so fun to me lol. Idk why but I love putting her in arranged marriages so I’m here for the drama of their marriage lol. Also she would be so I-can-fix-him, I just know it. That’s who she is.

I had the same problem when I sent mine, ngl. Gotta make a masterlist and introduction post eventually.

Imagine showing up to a “I love Helaena Targaryen more than the air that I breathe” contest and Mabel & Tristian are already there with a bouquet of flowers and collection of bugs. I’d call it day.

Mabel would definitely have a suppressed crush on Theresa, that manifests into jealousy when she has an affair with Criston. The LGBT Community of Westeros whorifying Criston Cole is a canon event, I don’t make the rules. Part of Mabel believes she’s jealous because Theresa is a legitimized bastard who got to marry not one but two princes, while she struggled to earn the name Strong and settled for Tyland. On the other hand, she knows deep inside it’s frustration from an unrequited crush (maybe?)

For Darren X Nadya, I would say it’s an arranged marriage. Darren would be distant and neglectful towards Nadya, like “you do you, I guess.” For the main reason, he’s attracted to poor, common women that he can’t have and wouldn’t be faithful. He also distances himself from people because of how unstable and intense he can be, so he’s afraid of hurting her.

Since I’ve only just posted about them, here they are as a reminder (and with a bit of extra detail)

Since I did a Therese lore dump yesterday, have one about Tristan:

Tristan has both the blue/violet eyes and silver hair of the Targaryens. Because of that, it was difficult to keep his parentage a secret, and so both he and Therese rarely left their home of Raven’s Keep until Kaleb took them to King’s Landing and revealed them when they were 10 years old.

He was raised as Kaleb’s heir, but when he came to King’s Landing, despite being legitimized as a Dormaire, he became infatuated with the idea of becoming a knight and chose to train to become a member of the Kingsguard instead.

Tristan has a she-dragon called Stormfyre. She has sapphire scales and is known for her speed and agility.

He was made the squire of Criston Cole, much to the dismay of his parents. At the time, Tristan greatly looked up to Criston, who certainly took advantage of it, as Tristan was too young and innocent to understand what had truly happened between Rhaenyra and Criston or that Criston actually resented him due to his parentage. Criston was very hard on Tristan, sometimes to the point of excess, but he also did truly do his duty and make sure to train him well. Because of him, Tristan became one of the best knights of the Kingsguard.

Shortly after being knighted, Tristan was appointed to be the sworn shield of the then Princess Helaena. The two had been close since they were children, although most did not truly know the depth of their relationship, and so the appointment seemed fit.

Tristan had been in love with Helaena since they were children. When they were younger, he would collect insects and shells and other things he thought would interest Helaena and bring them to her. He was one of the only people to take what she said seriously and to truly listen to her, even if he didn’t always understand what she meant.

After Helaena’s marriage to Aegon, Tristan began a secret relationship with her, and the affair lasted for several years, up until his eventual death.

Tristan had two children by Helaena, a son named Aemon and a daughter named Elaena. Both were passed off as Aegon’s children, and it was believed until their affair was discovered, after which the two children were taken North to Raven’s Keep. Tristan’s line still continues through them within House Dormaire in the present-day GoT timeline.

Although Tristan supports his mother’s claim to the throne, because of his love for Helaena, he stays with the Greens during the Dance.

Shortly after the end of Season 1, Tristan’s affair with Helaena is discovered. Aegon flies into a rage, taking it as an insult to his pride (because he’s a hypocrite), and Helaena warns Tristan to leave King’s Landing - if he stays, he will die. Tristan knows that she’s right, and although it pains him to leave her, he decides to flee to Dragonstone and join the Blacks and the rest of his family.

Tristan flees King’s Landing on dragon-back, but before he can even make it farther than Blackwater Bay, he finds himself being pursued by Aegon on Sunfyre, as well as Aemond on Vhagar. He manages to outfly Sunfyre, but he is no match for Vhagar. Although he and Stormfyre put up a fight, Tristan eventually meets the same fate as his younger half-brother Lucerys and is eaten alive by Vhagar.

Helaena was never the same after his death. She watched him die from a window within the Red Keep, and afterwards, she came to the beach to mourn for him.

Although his remains were never found, Tristan was “buried” in the Sept of Baelor and in the crypt of Raven’s Keep.

After the Dance, a song was written about Tristan and Helaena’s tragic romance called “The Knight and the Dreamer”.

(I don’t know a lot about HOTD but I wanted to send in an ask!) For the OC bad fandom takes: Tristan was manipulating Helaena the entire time.

Oh yeah I could definitely see this being a thing.

Given Helaena’s not so great marriage situation and her more innocent and “clueless” nature, I’m sure people would make the argument that Tristan is taking advantage of her vulnerability and neglect to get what he wants out of her. Because of course there’s no way his feelings and intentions are true (sarcasm).

Honestly there would probably be a lot of discussion about whether or not Helaena is a victim too.

Even though they are probably the most wholesome couple of them all.

fun fact about Therese and Tristan: they both have Targaryen eyes, but only Tristan has the signature silver hair (and somehow Kaleb was able to keep the entire North quiet about it until he brought the kids to King’s Landing himself when they were like ten)

I only realized now that Tristan was Criston‘s squire which opened up the door for an interesting dynamic between Gawen and Tristan as Gawen‘s the squire of Harwin. How do you think the two would get along? 👀

Ooooo that’s interesting now I gotta think about this

For Tristan’s part, he probably wouldn’t hold anything against Gawen personally. At least not at first. I’m sure that Criston would be whispering in his ear about Harwin and all the things he’s done and if Gawen were to defend Harwin to Tristan (and I’m sure vice versa), that might start a fight between them. But at least on Tristan’s end, that would probably only be when he’s younger. And as they get older, I feel like things might mellow out.

I guess it really depends on how Gawen would feel about him being a squire for Criston and definitely believing at least some of the things he said and parroting them. Honestly though he doesn’t really have anything against Harwin except that he’s with his mother, when he still wishes it was his own dad. And he feels like Rhaenyra doesn’t pay much attention to him because of that relationship and what’s come out of it (he doesn’t have anything against his brothers, he just wants some of his mama’s attention).
