i truly believe that daniel's behaviour at the end of the s2 finale is exactly how he was, when he was still passionate about his reporting and writing and didn't give a fuck what anyone thought of his choices of stories to tell, before he became cynical and disillusioned by the changes to the landscape of journalism and his own fame. this is the bright young reporter with a point of view who made a name for himself with investigative reporting, who interviewed dangerous people and got out alive, who won two pulitzers and got fired from two papers (hired back at one). he's reinvigorated not just because he's a vampire now but also because he's published something, it sold 5 million copies in four months, and he's getting buzz around it.

why the fuck would he care that his professional rival is trying to do a hit interview on him when he can read his mind and know that it's because he's jealous of daniel's success when his book's a success, he's a multi-millionaire just for helping his friend get a divorce, he still has two pulitzers to his name, he's (presumably) feeling physically better than he's felt in years, he's riding the high of publication of a new story, and he's going to live forever! of course his ego's huge <3

OK so if the setup for future seasons is Daniel continuing to interview other vampires, starting with Lestat in Season 3 --

I deeply, truly want him to meet Marius in the modern day and just go absolutely apeshit on him with his particular brand of acid-laced questioning.

Well it's not ideal, but I think it's fair that yingdu discussions take this in consideration. What interests me most is:

- LG really hoped for the best and the best he wanted /was/ murder, but no he didn't have an actual hand in it. What Vein "understood" abt the situation was likely that LG has shit to do with time traveling. Which is already huge, I think LG went through the entire 2nd season with the bad guys unaware of his powers. The only one who actually clued in was LX, bc his heartbeat was unusual. Mastermind recognizes mastermind, I guess (EDIT: it occurs to me that what he might've understood is what LG means/WQ has powers. But I think it's safe to say he'll know who to watch out for in the main trio)

- SYY was the cause of the timeline changes LG found unexpected. This interests me greatly bc he thinks he caused them somehow, and by the end SYY has an inkling of LG's general existence but LG doesn't know of her. CXS is the link between them, and their actions might clash and cancel each other in terrible, terrible ways~

- If bahati is really a school full of gifted, then the kid with white eyes 100% was cheating off of WQ when LG disconnected. CWM, the hell were you doing there? Is it an academic interest in your wife' situation or were you actually the original owner of SYY's powers?

- this isn't discussed anywhere above, but while LG self-identified with the wei wuxian-esque protag of the manhua he cosplayed in, the one who actually cosplayed as girlxian (and who I actually think is more alike the actual wwx lmao) is CXS. Welp.
