[ID: an article written by Emily Anthes and hosted on TRIBOLITES. Attached is a photo of a small bird with a grey head and tail, and yellow beak. One side of the bird's plumage is blue, while the other is green, with a clear line where the two colours meet. A transcript of the article text is as follows:
This Bird Is Half Male, Half Female, and Completely Stunning
A green honeycreeper spotted on a farm in Columbia exhibits a rare biological phenomenon known as bilateral gynandromorphism.
This honeycreeper was first observed in October 2021 on a small farm in Villamaría, in western Columbia, and soon became a regular visitor. It appears to be a bilateral gynandromorph: female on one side and male on the other. John Murillo End ID]

Master Marshmallow, Storyteller Extraordinaire, Presents: More Fun With Fossils!
Master Marshmallow: “Hello again, ladies and gentleroots! I’m back with you today to share a few more of my human’s fossils. They are both beautiful and educational, so let’s get started, shall we?”
Tumblr media
Master Marshmallow: “Here we have some interesting fossils that have been carved into a decorative piece right out of the rock they were discovered in. They are the fossilized remains of prehistoric squid-like creatures called orthoceras. When alive long ago, they looked something like this...”
Tumblr media
Master Marshmallow: “Imagine that! Thank you to a vast storehouse of great knowledge known as Wikipedia for that last image. Now this next piece is called a trilobite.”
Tumblr media
Master Marshmallow: “To me, it looks like a wee horseshoe crab, and of course horseshoe crabs share ancient relatives with trilobites.”
Tumblr media
Master Marshmallow: “Fascinating, isn’t it? But this next one is my favorite because of all the detail and vibrant colors in its shell. It is called an ammonite, a nautilus type of creature.”
Tumblr media
Master Marshmallow: “On the left, the shell has been removed to reveal the crystallized and fossilized remains of the creature inside, and on the right, the opalescent nacre of the creature’s shell is visible. Simply amazing! Do you have any fossils you would like to share? Send in your fossil photos and I will do my best to identify them!”

Facts and Information About Trilobite Fossil
The word trilobite means “Three lobes”. Trilobites are a member of a group of arthropods that can be recognized easily by their distinctive three-lobed as well as three-segmented form.
Tumblr media
Trilobites are marine animals exclusively and they appeared first at the beginning of the Cambrian period. They dominated the seas about 520 million years ago.
The ancestor of trilobites and other arthropods can be represented by Spriggina, known from Precambrian shallow-water marine deposits in parts of Australia. Stratigraphic correlations can be made from trilobites.
Along with trilobite fossils, you can get ancient fossils for sale at reasonable prices.
Trilobites comprise three lobes of body. Out of the three lobes, two lobes lay on each side of a longitudinal axis. The body of trilobite was segmented as well as divided into three regions from tail to head- the cephalon (Head region), separated from the thorax. This is followed in turn by the pygidium or tail region.
Like other arthropods, trilobites also had an external skeleton also called an exoskeleton. This exoskeleton is composed of chitinous material. Exoskeleton had to be shed for the animal to grow. shed trilobite exoskeletons are very common fossils.
Trilobites are one of the animals that live on earth. They survived numerous mass extinctions and lived until the end extinction of Permian.
The smallest trilobite is currently Acanthopleurella stipulae at around 1 mm, which's the size of a fleck of pepper.
The largest trilobite is currently Isotelus rex which has been found to reach 72 cm. That's over 2 feet.
More facts about Trilobite:
Although  trilobites were small, few types of them could grow to over a foot in length. The largest trilobite is 70 cm long.
Most of their  species could develop complex arrays of spines. These spines could protect  them against predators like fish.
Trilobites were  one of the first animals we know of to have eyes. They were unique in that     they had multi-faceted eyes.
Most of you might be thinking about how to find trilobite fossils? You can find trilobite fossils on most online websites.
Trilobite fossils can be found in various offline stores near you.
Wrap Up:
Contact Fossil age minerals if you are searching for aesthetic pieces of trilobite fossils. You can get the best pieces of fossils at affordable prices without compromise in quality.

OLENOIDES “Resembling Olenus” Middle Cambrian, 510 million years ago
This textbook example of a trilobite (“three lobes”) grew to less than four inches long, but still thrived in the Cambrian seas. It is named after a Greek mythological figure who was turned into stone, and the “-ite” ending often assigned to fossils echoes naming conventions in minerology.
But Olenoides was not a stone; it was a living animal. A living animal with needs.
Needs that aren't being met, Jeffrey.

best guess probably stigmaria, fossilised tree root. Not a tribolite.
Tumblr media
BTW, can anyone tell what is up with this rock?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It looks like a fossil, and my gut says "fossil skin," but I don't actually know. (The vendor I bought this from said he had no idea either, but was leaning towards "trilobite"?????)

Once again we celebrated the annual pancake baking contest with the inlaws (aka christmas dinner). It was fun. I made a fish, a t-rex and a giraffe. Then was challenged to make a tribolite without reference and a stegosaur. And then I did an owl and a frog. Because I can. I think the stegosaur is pretty awesome.
