pretty easy to figure out how bill would fuck other beings. just slap a pussy/dick on him and call it a day. but when it’s another euclidean? well that’s when it gets interesting

was thinking about trianglecest (specifically my interpretation) in the shower. more specifically comparing and contrasting trianglecest and stancest

they have a similar dynamic, on the service — twins, one of them is an intelligent overachiever with a genetic deformity that wants recognition, while the other is a con artist that kinda just goes along with the wind, is wracked with guilt, and absolutely adores his brother. but there are also differences that you gotta acknowledge

first of all: bill isn’t steve’s bill, and steve isn’t bill’s steve. this means that their childhood dynamic is different

while bill has a lot more stanley-ish mannerisms, bill’s motivations and backstory are clearly meant to resemble ford’s. born with a deformity, isolated from society as a result, thirst for recognition, selfishness, intelligence… they’ve got plenty in common. the difference is that ford had stan. bill had no one.

there was no one to ground him. no one that stuck by his side through thick and thin, no one to tell hin during those pivotal childhood years that he deserved better than to be hurt by others as a result of his deformity. bill had to go through everything by himself, with seemingly no one on his side, no one to listen to him. you don’t have bill without that.

so, what was his steve doing?

i think steve may have just… gone with it, fitting his “going along with the wind” attitude. not necessarily joining in on it, and when bill would express sadness or anger about it, he’d comfort him, but he wouldn’t actively stand up for him like stan did with ford. he’d be a shoulder to cry on — nothing more, nothing less. he was a source of comfort, but he was more of a blanket than a shield. he wouldn’t believe that bill could see the stars, but he wouldn’t argue — he’d basically do whatever the euclidean version of nodding your ahead along and going “mhm”. bill would notice this, obviously.

what about the other steve?

i think that bill would always have a thirst for power. maybe not as strongly as canon bill’s, but he’d have one nonetheless. it’s difficult to say whether bill’s love of chaos is the result of his anomaly, or if he’s just Like That. i’d argue that, similar to his thirst for power, it’s a bit of both. chaos is so central to his character that him being indifferent to it just. feels wrong.

so, unlike bill’s steve, steve’s bill would ne EXTREMELY supportive! not really out of the kindness of his heart, of course. he’d probably view steve as a particularly powerful pawn, someone with a unique ability that hadn’t been correctly tapped into, something that he could use to his advantage. kinda like ford! of course, this all goes horribly wrong, and steve ends up destroying his dimension, including his bill. oops!

steve wouldn’t see his bill’s manipulation as, well, manipulation. he’d never have that moment of realization where he finds out about his brother’s plans. he just thinks he not only destroyed his own universe, but the one being that fully, genuinely supported him, and he would be wracked with guilt.

bill and steve eventually find each other. at first, bill is mostly indifferent to steve — again, powerful pawn — but he can’t help but get closer to him, dare i say, beginning to actually care for him. steve is the only one that can even remotely understand bill, what he’s gone through. steve might sound like a doormat, but again, considering his whole bootleg thing, i think he’d be a con artist. he’s charismatic, he’s good at tricking other people, he’s smart, he’s got unconditional love for bill, he GETS bill, and he quickly rises through the ranks of bill’s henchmaniacs.

ok, idea on how trianglecest works despite bill destroying his whole dimension, including his family:

bill had a twin named steve. due to bill having the biggest ego known to man, steve being unable to see the stars, and steve being accepted by society at large more easily than bill, he began to resent him. yk how ford had that whole “stan was just riding on my coattails” thing? like that. i’m unsure if they’d ever be as close as stan and ford were, growing up — bill has a superiority complex that makes ford look humble, and i feel like he’d have that for his whole life, being naturally rebellious and being told that his eye was a defect

canon continues on as normal, until he hears about this interdimensional con artist that goes by “pyram1d steve”. bill dismisses it as a coincidence at first — steve’s a pretty common name, all things considered — until he meets him.

turns out, steve’s from an alternate universe where he was the one that could see the stars, and he was the one that ended up destroying his dimension. steve was convinced to by his bill, who was the only one who ever believed anything steve said about the stars.

on the one hand, bill feels vindicated, and is absolutely projecting his feelings about his twin onto this steve. even if steve had been given his gift, he would’ve squandered it away, doing stupid cons instead of destroying universes and planets and partying like a frat bro 24/7. what a loser! steve’s always just been a worse version of bill. plus, steve is so, eugh, affectionate, probably from guilt regarding his own supportive, if megalomaniacal, bill.

on the other hand… bill, deep down, misses home. he’d never admit it, but he regrets what he did. and he finally has someone that understands. someone that may not be from his home, but was in his neighborhood — and isn’t that better than nothing?

thinking i love the idea that bill who destroyed his dimension and killed everyone had a twin brother too, steve, but steve also couldnt see the stars, shoutout to @cravingpepsimax for this idea

anyway, you know how in tbob bill shows ford the remaining atom of his dimension, yeah thats steve to me

now bill still killed everyone and destroyed his dimension, but the atom he kept of his dimension is steve, his dear sweet brother who encouraged him to try and reach the third dimension (because steve was unconditionally supportive of bill no matter what until he wasnt which fed to bills huge ego, because he was special and hes treated special [remind you of someone lmao])

i think its fitting because in that journal page they were both talking about family and how familial attachments (specifically fords to stanley) is suffocating and drags you down— highlighting bills hypocritical nature because here he is still carrying a piece of his brother around (like a certain someone with a certain childhood photo in his coat)

steve is still very much dead in this version and bill has no regrets, but i love the idea that bill just brings him along everywhere.

i wouldn’t be surprised if it still had its fair share of haters (why would you interpret them as twins and then ship them!!! smh!!!!! just get rid of the twin stuff even tho that ends up w a different dynamic and different lore implications entirely) but i doubt it’ll be anywhere near the level of stancest even if it somehow gets just as popular

i’ve also seen some interpretations of steve being from bill’s dimension, the only survivor of the disaster, but bill just really fucking hates him and doesn’t acknowledge him at all.

unfortunately because i am insane i have to apply this idea to trianglecest (STANCEST PARALLELS!!!! AAAAAAAA)

so, consider: bill and steve are twins that have the same deformity. unlike bill, though, steve just… goes along with the medical treatments. maybe that’s why his eye is blue? regardless, it makes bill feel even more isolated, and he resents steve for it. he justifies it to himself, calling steve an idiot who wasted his potential in order to fit into society, but deep down, it’s really just because he lost the only person that could’ve understood him.

anyways, euclydia gets got, bill does his thing, but steve manages to survive. maybe the medication wasn’t completely effective (kinda hard to “fix” an ability to see into the third dimension LMAO), and it left steve with enough sight to figure out a way out.

bill and steve have a mutual hatred for eachother for a very long time. but over trillions of years, it goes from “genuine, all-consuming hatred towards the other” to “you’re an annoying asshole and i do not fucking like you”. turns out trillion+ year no-contact does that. especially as steve begins to act more like bill — he doesn’t have a home, a society to conform to, anyone that really cares about him at all, so like, who cares? he starts caring less about others, and starts seeing bill’s perspective more, especially as his own power grows.

anyways canon happens they die etc etc and eventually they reunite in the theraprism. the axolotl makes them wear a get-along sweater. i imagine they both start off pissed at eachother but ultimately bill’s the one that’s more tsundere. steve’s… i dunno, an uzadere?
