Lisa trailed off, noticing the boy’s blue eyes were darting around the room.  Not with his by now customary suspicion but rather in undisguised awe at her collection of raised plant beds containing a boundless variety of herbs, vegetables, and flowers.  It must’ve been a startling sight compared to the dry, cold world of autumn outside, but it wasn’t enough to distract him entirely.  He was quick to notice she’d stopped talking and snapped his attention back to her, not unlike a young pricket watching for wolves.

“The sun keeps the room warm,”  she explained cheerily.  “And the water from the plants provides humidity."  She almost said like a rainforest before catching herself.  A simple ‘peasant woman’ like herself wouldn’t know what that word was, even if she’d had the chance to visit an ecosystem like that.  Matter of fact, Lisa wasn’t even certain if a regional nobleman’s son would know that word, although she imagined the Belmonts could have easily traveled through Europe's rainforests, and possibly Africa and Asia’s as well.  Clearing her throat, she resumed her instructions about keeping the wounds dry as she handed her patient a towel, a cake of soap, and a clean tunic.  “Any questions?”

(A/N: Here's my first Ghostbusters thing! I've got a few other Ghostbusters fics in the works, mostly Ray-based reader-inserts because I'm in love with him, but I've also got a Phoebe-centric character study in the works that's based on part of her storyline in Frozen Empire. By the way, I loved Frozen Empire! I've already seen it three times, and it's such a joy. I'll try to catch it a couple more times at least before it leaves cinemas. Anyway, I haven't included any explicit spoilers for Frozen Empire in this, so you're safe to read this if you haven't seen it yet. I'd love to write more old man Ray Stantz fics, especially something involving Phoebe. I'm really excited to write for Ghostbusters, so feel free to send in requests! I've only seen the movies, but I plan on watching the Real Ghostbusters at some point soon. Also, even though I took my mum to see Frozen Empire the other day, I still don't have anyone to talk to about this movie, so please feel free to talk to me about it!)

It’s evident that, even after all of these years, Ray is still madly in love with you.

The adoration with which he looks at you is clear as day.

Venkman has always loved to tease you both about how sickly sweet your relationship is.

He will make fake gagging when either of you are affectionate to one another when he’s around.

(He won’t admit it, but he actually finds your relationship to be kind of cute)

It’s not like either of you are overly lovey-dovey, especially now.

Ray’s naturally a very passionate and expressive guy, but he’s rarely mushy.

Still, you show one another how much you care.

I have this idea that your silent way of saying ‘I love you’ to each other is holding the other’s hand, stroking their knuckles with your thumb and smiling at them.

It just seems so cute to have this thing that you’ve been doing for your whole relationship.

Ray knows you like the back of his hand, and you know him just the same.

It’s almost scary how well you know one another.

I can imagine that there’s been a time that someone’s asked one of you a question, and the other has been able to answer it with ease.

I love the idea of Ray being with someone who’s not a scientific mind like himself.

So, if you’re not as knowledgeable about the supernatural as Ray, you’ll still have picked up on plenty of information against your will, and Ray will always be impressed with and proud of you when you manage to regurgitate or understand his ‘science-y word salad’ (as you have referred to it).

He will also find it very attractive when you talk supernatural or science to him, but he tries not to make it obvious.

His eyes still light up like he’s a kid on Christmas when he explains supernatural stuff to you or tells you about a new psychically charged item he’s bought, and you find it so endearing.

Also, I can imagine him practically forcing you to listen to Podcast’s podcast when he discovers it, and you both end up getting really into it.

As devoted as he still is to his work and his supernatural endeavours, spending time with you is his greatest priority.

He might miss being an active Ghostbuster, but the silver lining of it is that he gets more time with you than he ever used to.

Even if you both used to be Ghostbusters, it’s nice to spend time together that doesn’t involve being covered in ghost slime and shouting over nuclear accelerators.

If you’ve not got anything else to do, I think it’d be sweet if you kept him company in his store.

Phoebe and Trevor are your honorary grandkids and you and Ray are beyond proud of them, especially Phoebe, who you’re closest to of the two of them.

Phoebe will always remind the both of you of Egon, so whenever she does something particularly Egon-like, you will exchange a knowing glance, and when she’s gone you’ll end up reminiscing about your old friend.

If Phoebe or the other Spenglers ever want to hear about Egon, you’re both more than happy to talk to them about him.

Even in his golden years, Ray is still the same sweet, passionate, excitable man you married all those years ago.

Sure, the regular excitement that came with Ghostbusting is long behind you both, but you both cherish this quieter time together just as much.

Ghostbusters extended lore. This franchise is for the lore and legend fans fr. Everyone’s a magic nerd and I love that but particularly the ghost research facility.

GHOSTBUSTERS LORE- specifically how they implemented old merch of the franchise and toys as stuff IN UNIVERSE. (Is the cartoon a canon cartoon just like how the movie is a movie in the cartoon?)

Opening with the Robert frost poem. Iconic.

The possessor in his little cell is so cute actually. Little guys got enrichment in his enclosure!

it felt like it had been weeks since you’d seen, much less felt trevor or jamie. when you’d wake up, they’d both be gone- and if they weren’t, they’d stay suspiciously close to eachother, seemingly drifting farther and farther from you, which gave you plenty of time to think.

“are they disgusted by me now?” “have they thought sharing was weird this whole time?” “are they kicking me out?”

it was driving you insane. it was just a never ending loop. finally, by the third week, you’d had enough.

it was after they had gotten back from a home game, winning the game in OT. they came in, on a high, but we’re instantly shut down by the blank look on your face as they walked in the door.

“sit.” you said firmly, gesturing to the couch. they quickly dropped their bags, making quick pace towards the couch, looking at one another in confusion.

once they sat down, you took a deep breath, and then let the overbearing thoughts loose in a nervous ramble.

“are you guys tired of me?” came the first exasperated question, crossing your arms as you began to pace anxiously. “does sharing bother you guys more than you said? are one of you guys trying to date?” you kept on, words getting faster, hands getting shakier, vison getting blurrier as the tears accumulated.

jamie and trveor sat wide eyed, mentally contemplating just how much they had fucked things up. until you let out the question that seemed to be bothering you the most. “FUCK- are you guys kicking me out? if that’s the case then please just tell me, so i can start packing my stuff, but please don’t-“ and finally they each reached out, both extending one of their hands out to rest on your thighs, effectively halting your pacing.

you lifted your head up from it’s hung position, tears spilling out at a much faster rate.

“sweetheart” jamie muttered in a sorrow-filled tone, as trevor stroked your thigh soothingly. at his utterance, you bursted into sobs. “that’s the one isn’t it? god i’m so stupid, i’m sorry, you guys should’ve just said-“

quickly, they both jumped to their feet, jamie wrapping you in a hug, tucking your head in his neck, running his hands soothingly through your hair, and trevor standing to your left, running a hand rhythmically up and down your back. “no baby no. there’s a lot of things we should’ve said, and that certainly isn’t one of them.”

at his assurance, you carefully lifted your head from jamie’s neck, tearful eyes meeting trevor’s. “then what?”

trevor reached one of his hands towards your face, carefully gripping your chin, holding it so you’d keep his gaze. “y/n- the last thing on either of our minds is kicking you out. to try and eliminate confusion as fast as possible- we both like you baby. we both like this thing we have going, and just so happened to both catch feelings for you. me and jimmy started talking about it a few weeks ago, but we were too nervous to bring it up.”

and you froze. how would it work? what if someone got too jealous? is that even something you’d want? and then you thought. the past few months have been amazing- both boys have been as perfect as two boys as roommates could be. you could create mental lists miles long of the all the good things about the duo. on that note, a life with them seemed almost more desired than a life without one or the other.

the longer your silence went on for, the more dejected trevor’s face got, and the looser jamie’s grip on your body seemed.

once you finally snapped out of the trance, you noticed the apprehension of the two boys growing. so you made a split decision.

first, you reached your hand up, cupping jamie’s jaw, and bringing his lips to meet yours in a deep kiss. then you abruptly pulled away, and reached an arm out to the dejected trevor, who had seemed to have grown apprehensive at your “jamie-centric” reaction. once you had a firm enough grip on his shoulders, you brought him in to a bruising kiss.

after finally pulling away from trevor, you spun around to jamie, growing fearful of their reactions to your actions.

“i-im sorry if that’s not what you guys meant, i like the idea of being with both of you too, but i’m not sure how-“

and jamie quickly pulled you towards him, his lips meeting yours once again. once it seemed your erratic behavior had left your body, he pulled away, taking your jaw in both of his hands to make you meet his gaze.

“sweetheart, i think i can speak for myself, trevor, and the hard-on trevor is sporting in his pants. that was hot- and exactly what we meant. you have no apologizing to do. if anything, we owe you weeks of apologies sweet girl, for ever making you feel like we didn’t want you.” he spoke softly yet assuredly. after his last sentence, he glanced over your shoulder, towards trevor, and then back to you.

“i think your in for a night of apologies baby- don’t you think so z?”

you timidly glanced towards trevor, trying to scope out if his response affirmed what you thought to be jamie’s innuendos.

trevor took a step towards you and jamie, with his trademark cocky grin on his face, and with his grin, came your confirmation, which sent heat flooding to your core. but alas his grin was the prequel to his following words.

“i think so too jimmy. our girl’s been so good, huh? so proud of you for telling us how you feel. me and jimmy are gonna make sure that by the end of the night, all you can do is feel us sweetheart. we’re gonna be the only things your pretty little brain can think of.”

his mini speech sent waves of lust throughout your body, alighting your every nerve. he took another step closer, side by side with jamie now, reaching his hands up to harshly grip both of your breasts in his hands, making you to let out high pitched whimpers. at your inviting noises,

jamie’s hands joined trevor’s to explore your oh so familiar body. and while the two sets of hands continued their journey across the plains of your body, three pairs of feet began to clumsily stumble towards the bedroom.

So, uh, you can see there's a lot in the air. It's always possible some of this will shift, and I'm sure other things will get added to the list before this is all written -- but those are the stories bouncing around my mind right now. Excited for a wordy 2024 😁

Honestly now that I think about it how would you have handled the Netflix series and is there anything you would have added or expanded on if given the chance.

I'm afraid the idea of "being more like the games" would be very unpopular :P

But, like. I don't know what needed to be changed. Simplify the designs if you must, but keep them. Try to expand on the hints of personalities we get from the games, not completely reverse them (looking at you, Trevor). Dracula's Curse could have been a much more fun romp tearing through Wallachia combined with character bonding (bonding, not insulting) The events of the CoD mangas are near perfect, just elaborated on things it misses on like the details of Hector and Isaac's relationship. Season 3 could have been a Hector-centric plot as he learns to live with humanity - can't be worst than what he goes through in the actual S3, right? I know it's unimaginative, but why fix what isn't broken?

I know people who tried to fix the show starting from S3, and I appreciate the effort, but personally I see S2 as the point of no return between a good adaptation and one that does a disservice to the source material. Also it's just not good, with the Hero side being the protagonists being stuck in a library bitching at each other and the Dark side being a long, boring Idiot Plot spearheaded by a character who didn't need to exist.

So yeah, sorry, I don't have enough respect for the changes brought by the show and my ideal NFCV would be "just make it like the games but flashier"
