This is based off the hometown event I made for my Oc Fallon

About Never-Cove

Captain Hook is called the Great captain. Never-cove would have a statue of him in the town square. It’s very beach town like with many ports. It’s a melting pot of different cultures and has welcoming atmosphere with many people coming and going.Some of the best ships known to sail came from Never-Cove itself founded and built up by sailors and pirates.Fishing,Shipping,boat construction/repair and cruises are the main industries there.Never-cove has a good relationship with merfolks and rumored to have fairies around.

Summary:

Never-Cove’s annual event celebrating the Great Captain has come. Come grab your crew to participate in tasks to win the title of best Pirate crew and even the surprise treasure.If not come and enjoy the festivities, explore a real pirate ship, dance and sing along to old songs and more!

For the participants you must form a group of no more than 8 people and appoint someone who be the crew’s captain also their first mate but be warned if you don’t take care of your crew they could overthrow you.It’s important to pick someone who is going to lead you to victory.

Luckily Fallon has invited others at NRC to to come join the crew - Floyd Leech, Azul Ashengrotto, Ruggie Bucchi ,Jamil Viper and of course Grim and Yuu/MC

There are 2 events that are held with a scenario (optional)

Pirate Ship

Your Crew will be staying on a pirate ship for 3 days.The crew will be completing tasks like fishing, maintaining the ship etc earning points on teamwork and proficiency,on the 3 day you’ll be able to sail out into a certain area having to navigate your way to a destination marked on a provided map. Once you get to your destination you’ll have to use clues around to find treasure and bring it back safely

Scenario (optional)

On the 3rd day when everyone was getting ready to sail a rival group decided to do some sabotaging. Once the your ship was ready to sail all of a sudden it jets out the port at full speed. Once everything has settled everyone realizes that your in the middle of the ocean with no connection. Now the crew needs to use their skills to get back to mainland

Treasure hunt 

For the young ones and people who prefer land can join the treasure hunt. You’ll will be finding 3 different treasures over the course of 3 days. You’ll will have to navigate through finding clues,puzzles and obstacles to get to your treasures and will need to protect it since other Crews will try and steal your treasures. There is one main treasure you need to protect so be careful if someone plants bait to trick others. The Crews who still have their 3 main treasure gets to go to the last round where all teams are going a one item . Whoever brings it back wins

Kids don’t steal from each other and would be around town square or the beach

Scenario (optional)

On the final round facing off against a rival team someone used magic and teleported your crew to some unknown place with fairies? Checking in on everyone you realize that you still have the treasure to win but how will you get back? Will you try to get the fairies to help or will the crew do it on their own?

this one is just for the demon children, in reverse au. Let's imagine a scenario where they were found, still babies, by the demon reader who, whether out of curiosity or another reason, decided to raise them. It could be something short about them growing up with their demon father or the kids' impressions of what it's like to have a father who isn't human.

Adding to this is another scenario where a hashira (canonical, if you want to give names) finds the child with the demon and tries or even manages to kill the father and take the child with him. What would our three children's feelings be about this and what would they do?

It's ok, I like these long texts at requests, to people to share their ideas and explain them. This looks more than a divergence than Reverse AU, but hey! It's 100% welcome here. I love to see everyone's concepts.

Reverse AU (with divergence) Demon Kids (as humans) having Male Demon Reader as a Father figure since young + Reader facing a non-character Hashira

Daki (ft. Gyutaro):

The boy (Gyutaro) holds his sister (Ume/Daki) close to him, she is barely a toddler, yet he must heat her up outside on the snow. Their mother doesn't like them in the house when it's winter. She doesn't mind them any other station, since she goes out to try and get clients and drugs, but in winter she stays inside, and she hates them. Still, three years old... he is still amazed of how much she is growing, and at the same time, worrying she isn't growing up enough. She neesd more food, better food, she also needs a warm place to stay, and many other things he never had. At his 16 years he works for it, collecting debts, but he can't leave her alone in this cold. What if she dies?

Then he notices a figure, a male adult before him, eyes glowing in the dark. He holds his sister tighter as you get on your knees in front of him. "You both smell like frozen meat, do you think you will survive the winter outside?" The boy ignores you, they can, they have to, his sister can't die like this, and that means he must also live to take care of her. "You look very weak, even if your smell says otherwise. You think she won't die with you? Such a pretty child doesn't deserve such a fate." He knows it. She is pretty, she is worth the world, unlike him, but that is more reason to keep her alive. "Ne..... ne... And what would you have me doing?" He can barely speak up, but he does. "Our mother won't let us in."

You took a look on the little girl. You know well this place, here she will grow up into nothing more than a shell that sells itself for the sake of food, add power if things go well enough. She is beautiful, you can tell even at this young age, she would definetely be able the find someone to buy her services the second she turns legal at 13 years old. And for that same reason you know she has no place in here, nothing worth the little treasure she is. She could be a lot more, a lot of children in this place could, but you have a better feeling by this one. Even now, as she grips tightly her only source of warmth, you see she is a survivor, someone determined. She takes it from the boy helping her, you guess, but unlike her, he is alreasy tainted by this place. You might have come earlier, but that would mean facing the Kizuki that lives nearby. "I can take her away, to somewhere safe. Somewhere she will have a better future than as a prostitute."

To his credit, the boy seems to consider it. He looks very distressed, not knowing what to do with the cub in his arms. "Can... I follow from behind? I promise I won't be a bother. I won't talk and stay behind, you won't even have to look at me. But... I need to take care of her... that way you won't have to...." He talks rushed, but shy, not knowing what to do. It's, a bit sad, so willing to do whatever gives her the life she deserves but unable to let her go, to thw point he is willing to become nothing but an accesorie in her life. You don't comment on it, while weak he does look old enough to live by his own. "What is her name?" Is all you ask, and he looks at one specific direction, probably his mother's house, for some seconds before answering. "She doesn't have one." Now that is weird, even demons have names. Even uou have a name of your own. "And what is your name?" Same reaction, but he seems less ashamed of the answer. "I also don't have one... people just call me different names... insults that... are for me. But she deserves a better name."

You end up taking both, mostly doting on the girl that you ended naming Daki, something with a potential to live on. While on the boy, he is sixteen, old enough to choose what he wants to be called, and you tell him so, waiting for him to come up with a name and tell it to you. He ends up choosing Gyutaro. A very ugly name, but you guess Daki isn't much better. In the end, Gyutaro is a lot more helpful than you expected. He is able to make up with few as you stay in caves, using snimal skin and your victim's possesion to build something, besides always having a campfire onn. You teach them how to write and read, and in the end it's Gyutaro who ends up feeding her and making sure she is healthy, always staying behind when you play with her, watching. You don't know how to apporach him, you never did, considering he was 16 when you found them, now he is fully an adult, even if he never became healthier or bigger, no matter how much he ate or rested, but he is stronger. He even decided to ho back to the district and take the job as debt collector again, comming every once in a while with money and gifts for Daki.

You make your mind on turning him too, once once the girl becomes an adult and you can turn her. The boy, now a man, is so strong he could easily become a Kizuki if he tried. Right now she is 13, and is playing outside at the sun, while you watch her over the shadow, using a little river nearby to entertain herself by splashing and collecting rocks. "Otou-chan, look! I found pretty rocks. Can you save them for me as I look for more? I want to give these ones to onii-chan, the next one is for you, I promise!" Such a beautiful child. "Of course, my little princess." But of course, the second she is some steps into the sun, you see someone moving fast into your direction, making you move back into the cave. "OTOU-CHAN!" She screams in fear, sound reaching you as the blade starts to pierce through your neck smoothly, too smoothly. Is this a Hashira? Your neck is almost completely cut by the time the slayer moves because out of reflex when the girl threw a rock at him, then only to keep grabbing things to try and stop them. You see the human trying to talk to her, tell her to run away, as she screams "NO! GET AWAY FROM HIM! I'M TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM MY OTOU-CHAN!"

You manage to get the scent of Gyutaro not so far. "DAKI! GO OUTSIDE! GO GET YOUR BROTHER!" It was a mistake to tell her that, you wanted to be safe, but the second she was out in the sun again and began to scream for Gyutaro, the Hashira cut your neck effortlessly, attacking you from behind before you could realize where he is. Everything because you were paying attention to the girl. The cut in the neck hurt, then, you began the desintegrate from thin air. It doesn't really hurt, but it fills you with despair, specially as you see the slayer go to Daki and grab his wrist. "What the- LET ME GO! LET ME GO RIGHT NOW! ONII-CHAN! OTOU-CHAN! HELP!" You hear her crying, slowly realizing in the middle of evevrything why you are not going to save her, still shouting for you as her beautiful voice breaks ans her eyes shed tears, still struggling against the man as she pulls her amr and hits him.

But... then there is a sense of calm, because suddenly, with a kanna on his hand, Gyutaro is behind the slayer. "Oi, oi, oi...." he says before stabbing the heart of the slayer before he could react. "What are you doing to my sister, ne?" At least she will be safe, and that is the only thing that matters right now. "OTOU-CHAN! OTOU-CHAN! NO! DON'T LEAVE! DON'T DIE! I WON'T FORGIVE YOU! I WON'T!" But there is nothing you can do about it. You look at your cub, wanting to smile but already being without a mouth, just sheding some last tears with her as... everything becomes a numbing black.

Kaigaku:

Kaigaku never met his parents, he was an orphan for as long as he remembers. You, on the other hand, don't remember having a child ever, but that doesn't mean you never did, with your memory loss. Most demons under Oyakata-sama do remember their past, you have no idea why you are different, but it has never stopped you from anything you wanted to do. You are able to run free, to eat, to make, to control... and yet, when you see a child in front of an orphanage, sitting alone in the dark, there is a nostalgic feeling growing inside you. Did you ever find another child like this? Were you a child like this? It's impossible to know now. But you are aware, this child is lonely... and afraid. He wants to survive, to live, he has determination. A fire- no. A thunder in his eyes.

"I'm not going to hurt you, little one." How old is he? How did human age work again? You don't even remember that. For you, he could be 2 the same way he could be 12. But he is young, young enough that his legs are too short, his face and body are chubby and lacks defines muscles. "What is your name?" You try again as he doesn't answer, doesn't move. "Kai.... Kaigaku...." he says softly, voice almost girlish as it hasn't reach enough levels of testosterone to sound like anything else. You look at him and you feel so much warmth and value from such small body. "Nice to meet you, Kaigaku. I would like to be your friend." Something in the boy's eyes lights up at that last word. "Will you be my friend?" And that was all you needed to take him with you.

You... do make mistakes. Like feeding him with raw flesh sometimes... it took you a while to realize he won't get used to it. You could always transform him, but you would rather wait until he is an adult for that. To let him live his childhood fully, without being tainted by thirst. You also realize fast he can't be out in the cold... and that he needs to drink heated up water as any other also makes him sick, and that his moods swings depending on if he is hungry or cold or sleepy, because he needs to sleep a lot more than you thought he would. Well... this IS harder than you expected. "We will live here from now on, Kaigaku." You say as you bring him to a warm, cozy home out in the middle of nowhere within the trees and definetely did nor belong to your last dinner...

But the boy is happy here, happier than ever. You start learning how to cook with books, realizing you have to also teach the boy to write and read. It's a bit hard... everything. But you see him grow up and smile everyday, and even form a temper. "To-san! To-san! Look! I killed a boar by myself!" And he also grows up too fast. He is definetely a teen now, an age he can already be considered an adult but... he is still your little one, that small and puffy kid you found alone in the dark. That is an image you will never forget. "Very well done, kid."

And then it hit's you, literally. A thunder breathing technique, no doubt, there is no other way it coukd have reached you fo fast before you even realized someone was there. The blad cut half of your neck as you grab it to avoid being decapitated. "To-san!" You hear your boy, your cub scream for you, and you have no idea what to do. Specially when you see the golden button in the jacket of the uniform. It's a Hashira! You have no chance against one. The only reason you are alive right now if because the slayer stopped his speed and strenght, probably to not risk hitting Kaigaku. It seems that same thing has saved you, because Kaigaku tries to get in between the affair, screaming at the slayer, who tries to take him away and explain the situation while he is attacked by the boy with a knife and keeping you at bay by cutting your limbs whenever you get close.

You are afraid he might loose his patience and defend himself against the cub, but also, the more you look at him the more you think. You don't want to die, you can't, not know, not when you are the only person in this boy's life. If you die, he will end up all alone in this cruel world. He doesn't deserve to be like that again, sitting in the dark, cold, alone and afraid. You can't let that happen again, but how can you face a Hashira? What might be ebough to deal with one? "To-san, run! I will distract him! I will see you back home!" "Don't do anything foolish! Kaigaku, stop!" You also lunge at the slayer to prevent anything to happen, making sure to cover your neck with your arm, the cub gets to scratch the face of the sword user before being sent away by a strong push, flying to the side as you jump to catch him. The boy is unconscious, and you have to let him fall on the ground amto evade another slice on the neck, barely making it again.

You just... care too much for this boy to leave him. Even if he isn't yours by blood... by blood. That... that might be it. You see the scratch on the slayer's face, it still bleeds a little.... it might work, you loose nothing trying. You must try. When the human is close again, you rip off your arm. It hurts, a lot, but it bleeds directly into the Hashira's face. Usually demons don't rely in hurting themselves, but you are desperate. You need to save Kaigaku. The blood in his eyes blinds him for a while, enough for you to throw your arm at him, grab the boy and run. The transformation should start soon, and if you are lucky, the slayer will kill himself before it even begins the second he realizes demon blood touched an open wound.

You barely make it home before sunrise, but you do, not managing to close the door, but still hidding in a shadow. Your arm hasn't regenerated fully yet, and Kaigaku is still asleep. You let him wake up by his own. "To....-san?" You soothe him with your good arm. "Don't worry, kiddo. We are fine. We made it. All thanks to you." He really has a thunder inside him. He seems to calm down, only to cry his emotions out as you comfort him the best you can. Paises, pats, hugs, everything you can do right now. It's fine, it will be.

Zohakuten (ft. Clones):

"YOU DID WHAT?! HOW DARE YOU?! I SHOULD KILL YOU FOR IT! YOU PROMISED HIS MOTHER YOU WOULDN'T THROW HIM OUT!" When Hayato (Urogi, 13 years old) and Kazuo (Aizetsu, 12 years old) overheard Toshirō (Sekido, 17 years old) and their father arguing, they ran to the street, where Zohakuten (who the fuck names their child "Hatred"?) was thrown, a four year old thrown into the streets. It seems that is what the two eldest are fighting about, since it happened when all of them were away, even now Masami (Karaku, 15 years old, the only one who already goes by that name in the streets) is still at work, so they can't rely on him while searching. Did he ran away? Was he taken? Have they failed their youngest brother already? Attacked by an animal? It's already dark, who knows what happened, and they don't exactly live in a safe area. Then in one turn, they see you, picking him up as he sleeps in your arms.

"HEY! HANDS OFF! THAT'S OUR LITTLE BROTHER! GIVE US ZOHAKUTEN!" Screams Hayato as Kazuo grabs him, sensing something wrong about you. Your eyes glow... why are your eyes glowing? "Hayato, one of us should look for Toshirō or Masami." You were about to answer when you have to move fast to evade a blade in your neck. A slayer? You jump towards a ceiling to look at that person better, still holding the child that grips you tightly in dreams. Such a precious and unprotected cub. From an open window from an inn a another human, similar to the other too, shows his face, clearly sweaty, covering himself with a sheet, smelling like arousal. "HEY, BASTARD! COME BACK HERE! YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY ME! I DIDN'T TAKE ALL YOUR SHIT UP MY ASS SO You-..." He shuts up when gazing the other two. "Hayato? Kazuo? What are you- Where are Toshirō and Zohakuten?!" He smells afraid now.

Thankfully, it was a weak slayer, slightly drunk, definetely tipsy. Easy to kill once in his blind spot by a hit in the neck. The two first humans paralyze at that while the green-eyed runs, already dressed. You were going to leave in the silence, but the third one arrives. "Wait! Wait! Don't take him!" He blocks your path, annoying you slightly. "I know what you are, you... he won't taste that good. I... I can offer a lot more. I can serve show and dinner... willingly! Amuse you for as long as you need then you can just eat my flesh, but please let him down... I am good at-" "Silence." He does obey you, even if he looks as if he is about to cry or laugh, probably both, but he still doesn't move or relax, looking at the cub in your hands. A few seconds pass as the blue-eyed human speaks, hugging the gold-eyed one's arm. "Please. Just give him back. We were just looking for him. It was our father the one who threw him out. We want him back. We will take care of him, just... don't hurt him or Masami. Our onii-san is working on the matter, it won't happen again, we promise."

Then there is suddenly a scent of blood nearby in the area that wasn't there, big amounts, full of alcohol. "Blood and alcohol nearby." All of them seem to pale as the cub stears, you rock him in your arms in an attemp of calming him down. "Please... Toshirō... we.... I'll do anything. Toshirō is important to Zohakuten." You both spend the time in silence, until you settle for a compromise."I won't hurt the cub. I carry him to his home with you." They can't trust him with you, nor you can trust him with them. But still, it's acceptable enough, even if the Masami one takes the slayer's sword with him. When you arribe to the house, too small, dirty, smells like alcohol all over, you find a red-eyed version of these humans besides a corpse, being badly hurt himself. "Toshirō! You just grab the cub when everything happens. You all end up in a house of your victims or caves, moving together, since nobody can do anything about it. Zohakuten is stubborn and attatched to each one of you, as you are the one who take care of him most of the time, he starts calling you "papa". They changed their names to emotions, except Karaku... he said he was already recognized by that in some places and he wanted to keep working, so he would keep it that way. The others also begin to work, but Karaku dis keep the sword. You wonder if he would joing the slayer corps if it wasn't because he is afraid you will hurt Zohakuten. "Papa! Papa! Let's play!" You wouldn't, not this beautiful boy. Between all of you, it's easy to keep him happy and give him everything he needs, specially when all of them reach adulthood. "Papa, can we go out and see the stars? I really can't sleep."

You were never able to tell him no, that was something that for once, you shouldn't have done. You went out alone while the others were asleep, and suddenly... you need to cover the boy as you are attacked by a sword. You remember the night you took the boy in your arms by the first time, this slayer is muchas faster and stronger. Is he a Hashira? Probably. This means this time you are fucked. Also, a difference from that time is that Zohakuten is awake, so he screams. Both the afraid voice and the cut are painful, as you move to try and let him on the floor to face the slayer. A bit of your blood feel on the cub's face, what if the slayer attacks him thinking there is a risk of transformation?

"Kid, you need to run back home! Go back to your brothers!" You say without taking your eyes off the Hashira, who doesn't take them off you in exchange. "Go!" You urge him as the slayer ruches over you the second your skin begins to heal, making you grab his wrist while you duck. "NO! I WON'T LEAVE YOU TO THIS BULLY! THIS VILLAIN!" As endearing as that is, it's not the time for that. He needs to get out of here. "I can handdle it for now. Look for the others so they can help!" Ypu lie, there is no way you can survive against a Hashira by your own enough time for a 12 year old human to go all the way home and back. But you have a priority. "Listen to your papa, go get help!" After some seconds of silence, "ok...." he runs away, you can only hear his steps.

He will probably cry and curse you, he does have a bad vocabulary, courtesy of you and Sekido. Sekido will probably lead the process of moving on without you, he could feel Karaku thought of you as a threat, only keeping you around because he felt little of a choice, not liking or trusting you, having Aizetsu and Urogi around you all the time. Had you listened to him and brought one of them with you, you might have survived. But no, you are beheaded easily and left for death, but you did manage to run away on the opposite direction to hive Zohakuten time to get home. Urogi and Aizetsu will at least remain comforting the little guy, and Karaku will, as always, keep working.

Your heart aches as you die alone in the dark, wishing to have been able to comfort the cub one last time, or at least say goodbye. But it's over, and at least he will never be alone as long as he has his brothers, hence, you beg they never become slayers. Never.

Why this Doesn’t Mean Destiel : Part 1 - Mixed Tape

I may make this a series. I may not. But I’m feeling annoyed by a certain side of fandom, so I’m going to take a look at moments (or things) that are claimed to totally make D and C cannon, and discuss why I disagree. If you like the ship, please just save yourself the annoyance and skip on past this post. If you read this anyway or are not a fan, and have anything to add, I welcome your thoughts.

THE TAPE:

First, and I can’t believe I have to say this, a mixed tape is not actually inherently romantic. Friends make mixes for each other all the time, or used to before you could just share playlists or whatever them kids are doing these days. For example, my friends have ripped me CDs because they had better internet, they gave me a mix for my birthday, we went on a road trip and they left me the mix, or just because. I have done many of these things for my friends in return. A missed-tape or CD is simply a way to share songs we like with people we care about, or even an acquaintance. Can it be romantic? Absolutely! Is it inherently so? No.

Why isn’t this particular tape romantic? Check the name: "Dean's Top 13 Zepp Traxx.” This looks, more than anything, like a tape Dean made for himself ("Dean's"). As in, "I really like these particular songs, so I’m going to put them on one tape, so I don’t have to keep changing tapes over on road trips." Also, note the "Zepp Traxx." This looks more to me like something a teenager would write because it looks "cool" than anything else. I mean, a Dean who is pushing 40 might write "Traxx" on a tape — maybe — but it doesn’t seem that likely. So, it’s more than likely this tape was made decades ago, for himself, thus not a romantically intended (or thought out) mixed-tape. There is nothing about the tape itself to indicate it was made for Cass or that it has any special meaning.

DEAN:

Can we be honest here for one minute, people? Can anyone — anyone who has actually watched the whole show rather than cherry picking certain people's scenes — actually picture Dean Winchester, sitting down with an old boom box, lovingly, tenderly loading tapes into one side and recording onto a blank tape in the other side, thinking, "Sigh! These songs are so special to me because they make me think of my crush, Cass!" Or "I’m going to make Cass a tape of the most romantic Zeppelin songs I can to show him I care!"? If you answered "Yes" to that … this is not the blog for you. Also, I doubt that you know who the canon Dean Winchester is, as opposed to the fanon man-shapedr 14-year-old girl version from Tumblr or AO3. Dean doesn’t have time (or inclination) to sit down and make a mixed tape from scratch at this time in the show, especially when, you know, good luck finding a working tape recorder / cassette player / boom box that still works these days. The MOL bunker was frozen in time just a touch before tape cassettes were invented, so I doubt they have one hanging around the place. So, he went and bought something he could make a tape for Cass with? Really? I’m thinking not.

The most likely scenario for Dean giving Castiel a mixed tape? They are in the impala, maybe Sam is there sitting shotgun, maybe he isn’t. Cass starts talking about how he found merit in music Sam liked, or just some random music, and Dean says, "Come on Cass! That music is crap! Here, listen to this. This is the good stuff!" Then he rummages in his box of tapes one-handed, while driving, and tosses one to Cass. "Keep that one. I have a others," Dean adds. Then Cass says, "I’ll treasure it always, Dean!" No I’m kidding. Cass says, "Okay, Dean." He may or may not intend to actually listen to it at some point. After he finds a tape deck, of course.

So, does the mixed tape mean nothing? No, it’s still a nice gesture to give something you made to someone you care about. Do I think Dean put a lot of soecific thought into it, just for Cass? No. I think it’s actually similar to Sam letting Cass hang out in his room (presumable on his bed) watching Netflix on his TV, doing something nice for a friend and sharing media.

CASTIEL:

Even if Dean had sat sobbing over his mix for hours while he painstakingly crafted it just for Cass, it still wouldn’t equal Destiel. Why? Because Cass clearly didn’t appreciate it since he simply used it as an excuse to enter Dean's room and steal from him. Even if it was intended as an act of love, it was used as a tool for deception and betrayal. Thus, this does not support Destiel, rather it makes a case against it from Cass' POV.

THE WRITER INTENTIONS

Obviously, I can’t speak to these personally, but my thoughts on their possible thought process behind the mixed tape. First, they needed Cass to return something to Dean so he can get into his room, and it has to be something that was given as a nice gesture to heighten the betrayal. A tape makes sense because it’s not something so huge that it would be automatically given a ton of significance, but it also isn’t totally insignificant either. Second, Dean has a lot of tapes and he loves music, it’s very possible for him to give one to Cass off screen without the audience getting sidetracked and wondering why (how is he going to play it BTW? Go sit alone in one of the cars he’s stolen?). Third, do I think the writers were also throwing destiellers a bone? Probably, but throwing fans a bone does not equal queerbaiting because nothing else in Dean and Cass' relationship points to romance (and Dean is not into guys or Supernatural Beings). Throwing fans a small bone also doesn’t meant it’s leading to a romantic endgame. They do it with Wincest all the time, after all.

Overall, to me the purpose of the mixtape was to show Cass throwing something Dean gave him back in his face, so he could go behind his back for supernatural purposes. Again. If someone wants to read the tape as a romantic gift from Dean (it isn’t), that actually only makes what Cass uses it for worse. Thus, the tape does not support Dean and Cass romance.

And because I have to, this is a mixed tape (CD) with clear intent.

Spoilers: Rosemary's mother was sick with the plague, and the doctor, recognizing it, knew she would be dead very quickly. Rosemary was put on a wild goose chase for the medicine and given a driver who would delay her, with the doctor and hotel staff working to dispose of her mother's body and re-decorate the hotel room while Rosemary was away. With Rosemary unable to verify that she was in the hotel, and unknowing that her mother died of plague, the hotel avoided any negative publicity that would have occurred if anyone were to find out a guest had the plague. The hotel's PR was saved, but Rosemary was left doubting her sanity.

The Mending Enchantment in Minecraft

I've had this thought for a while now, and I figured it'd be good to share it with the endless void to see if it gets picked up anywhere. Here are my thoughts on how to fix mending in Minecraft. Be warned, this post is VERY long.

TL;DR: Add mending to the enchanting table, add an option to refresh the enchantments in the enchanting table without having to use the grindstone, and potentially add a way to increase odds of getting a specific enchantment.

Imagine this scenario: you've just gotten diamond tools, you're super excited to use them, and you do. It's great. They're faster than iron, and don't break as quickly. But, they do eventually break. They're now on their last legs, only 13 durability on the pickaxe and 22 on the axe. You've switched back to iron for the time being, but want to use diamond tools again. How do you fix this situation?

There are 4 main options:

- Repair them in an anvil with diamonds

- Just make more tools

- Buy new tools from toolsmith villagers

- Get mending books to repair them

Repairing them is fine, especially if you don't anticipate playing for much longer (eg. you're about to beat the Ender Dragon), but otherwise is a bit wasteful. It also gets more and more expensive in terms of xp as you repair more. And good luck repairing netherite tools like this.

Making more tools can be even more wasteful, especially if your old tools are enchanted. You have to go through the process of getting the tools all over again.

Buying them from toolsmith villagers means having access to villagers, and being able to level up at least one toolsmith villager to the required level. That's a pain.

Mending is the most enticing. Keep your current tools, and have a infinitely renewable way to repair them. It's the best solution. However, mending is also awful to get.

It's a treasure enchantment, which means you can't get it with an enchanting table. Loot tables such as structure chests and fishing can be good, but are incredibly unreliable. They contain every other enchanted book as well, so you'd have to get lucky to get a mending book specifically. Villagers are a renewable way to get the books, and are usually the least painful.

Despite being the least painful, however, they still manage to make the experience incredibly dull. Assuming you have villagers, you sit there with one nearby, destroying and replacing a lectern to hopefully find a mending book in their trades. This can take 10 minutes, or 2 hours. That's not even taking into account getting the emeralds to buy the books, which also takes a long time and usually involves a second villager at the very least. Past this, if you want to get different enchantments guaranteed, or other things, a villager trading hall is a necessity. You're now spending many hours on this project, that most likely will be repeated in every world that you get to this point.

Suffice to say, villagers are in no way the ideal method to get mending books. But because villagers are so useful, and mending books so necessary for long playthroughs, this process is the most common way, by far, to get mending books.

This is all because mending books are a treasure enchantment.

If mending books were available via the enchanting table, this wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem. It's still RNG-based (which I'll get to later), but provides an alternative viable method to get mending books. In particular, it allows casual players to get mending without needing to go through the villager process. There's still the problem of needing to make an xp farm, but most players need to do this anyways to get enchantments onto equipment (also it takes less time).

Like I mentioned, the RNG of the enchantment table is still a problem. If mending was moved to the enchanting table, this would still be a major improvement. But I'd also like to suggest some improvements to enchanting while I'm here.

First, for a small change, add an option to refresh the enchantments without enchanting an item. One of the bigger issues with enchanting is that there's a lot of time waste from having to refresh the enchantments over and over, then exiting the menu to use a grindstone on all the enchanted items so you can do it all over again. It's a large waste of time, and is one of the worst parts of enchanting. Adding an option to refresh the enchantments that's built into the table would be very beneficial. 1 xp level and 1 lapis, to match the first enchanting level requirements, and it completely refreshes the enchantments. More resource conservative players can still use the old way to save some xp by using the grindstone, but it provides an easier option for more casual players.

For a much bigger, and more complex change, I suggest allowing modification for the probabilities of certain enchantments through what I'm calling catalysts.

These would be items that, when placed in a certain slot in the enchanting menu, increase (or potentially decrease) the odds of getting certain enchantments. As an example, ice would increase the odds of fire protection and frost walker (assuming that's also removed from the treasure pool), but decrease the chance of fire aspect. Gold increases the chance for efficiency, but decreases the chance for unbreaking. Obsidian increases blast protection and protection, cactus increases thorns, etc. There could be many items to increase or decrease many different enchantments, but the point is that there's a way to alter the probabilities for enchantments.

This is important because, as enchanting table use grows, players will continue to complain about spending hours at their mob farm, trying to get all the enchantments they need for their gear. Giving a method for adjusting the probabilities would appease the players, at least a little.

An additional change for this, although not nearly as necessary, would be to allow for bookshelves to be imbued with these catalysts. It would give the nearby enchanting table the corresponding permanent bonus, albeit at a reduced effect. Or better yet, make a new endgame item that does this, but only one of this item can affect an enchanting table (I'm thinking something above the enchanting table, using a spore blossom and other items that make it endgame. The catalyst would be in the crafting recipe, so you have to make more if you want to have access to different bonuses). This single endgame item would provide the full bonus, since it's an endgame item and there can only be one affecting the probabilities.

Now, how does this work with mending? Surely with a powerful enchantment, it would make sense to either not improve the enchantment odds at all, or have a very endgame item increase the odds. And I would agree, to a point. Mending is very useful in the beginning of the game, and getting it before beating the ender dragon is common. Having it be locked in the end dimension wouldn't be very useful, and wouldn't solve the issue. Rather, I believe the solution is to give it a normal enchantment probability, but when an enchanted item gets more than one enchantment.

To be a little bit more clear, let's say you enchant a sword with a level 30 enchantment. It says sharpness 4, cool, that's what you want. You enchant it, and you get the added bonus of knockback 2, or unbreaking, or something else. Mending would be in this pool of enchantments, but not in the regular pool. This would mean that it isn't visible when looking at the available enchantments for the item you're enchanting, but is available as a potential additional enchantment.

This guarantees that all players are able to get the enchantment, but it's still difficult. Still based on RNG, but a little RNG is fine. A potential option to allow it to appear as it's own enchantment would be to use dragon's breath as the catalyst. Why? Because dragon's breath is kinda useless honestly, and I think it should get more use. Xp bottles may be more appropriate, but they're difficult to get without villagers (which we're trying to avoid).

I realize this isn't without problems, but, in my opinion, this would be a better alternative to using villagers. People who like villagers can still use them, and they're still better for getting what you want. But those who dislike villagers, or are tired of repeating the same task every playthrough, are given a different method to obtain a near-necessary item.

In total, I have 39 works on Ao3

2. what's your total ao3 word count?

so i didn't know this but apparently i have over a million words

3. What fandoms do you write for?

I don't write for HP anymore, but that's the majority of my fics. I have a few for the marvel universe and two weird real people fics (which now give me the ick so i won't be writing those anymore either)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Dear Your Holiness (lots of people share my priest kink apparently)

The Road Not Taken (for the angst, i'm sure)

I do! not as often as i'd like but i do read them all right away, i have notifications for ao3 comments turned on. in that way, i get to enjoy them twice!

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I have a short oneshot called Midnight about Halloween 1981 and I have another one called Where The Willow Don't Bend about Remus being a ghost at Hogwarts. I think those both end pretty angsty

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

In general, all my fics have happy endings. i go to fiction to escape the fact that almost nothing in life has a happy ending so i don't really like ending stories with anything except happiness. I really like the ending of We Can Pretend - they're in love, they get to be together, they're in Paris, their friends are all there with them, they're singing Nat King Cole to each other on a balcony while coq au vin is on the stove. fantasy scenario tbh.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

sure do. i won't list it. one thing that happens (which isn't exactly hate, but it makes me laugh) is when people criticize the fact that wolfstar are mentioned as having greys in The Road Not Taken because they're only 28/29 so they can't possibly have grey hair lol (i definitely had greys by that age, 100%)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yeah most of my fic is smut, but i'm sort of getting away from that. the TENSION is the best part, in my opinion.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

nah, not really interested, i guess.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so. my fics have been put up on other sites without my permission but my name was still attached to it, at least.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

a few! usually DYH. it's always nice to have someone ask for permission to translate.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

no, mostly because i'm a control freak lol

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

it used to be wolfstar (kinda soured on me for multiple reasons, the biggest one being JKR is a piece of shit and getting associated with her works is not fun)

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

back when i was watching Preacher, i was (still am) obsessed with Joe Gilgun, so i definitely have a Proinsias Cassidy fic in the WIPs somewhere that will never get finished, but i do go back to it from time to time because, i mean, irish vampire. give it to me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

do i have any???? people tell me i do tension well. maybe that?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

first of all, NOT PLANNING AHEAD, figuring it out as i go and then having to go back and change a bunch of shit when i inevitably fuck it up. also, commas. i use FAR too many commas. i won't be stopped.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i have a few fics that i have done that for. with French, with Russian, and now with Portuguese. it's difficult, Google Translate will only get you so far, but i LOVE languages so much. people will usually politely correct me

19. First fandom you wrote for?

OH TRUTH BE TOLD the Good Charlotte fandom, i am not even joking you right now. wrote an ENORMOUS self-insert fic for me and my friends with the members of Good Charlotte (i was with Benji, obviously) at the age of like 15 and the plot was SO fucking ridiculous. i mean. john mayer was there, ville valo from HIM was there (the main character had dated both of them before benji, of course). Elijah Wood was in there at some point and i think he was a murderer???? i should do a dramatic re-telling of what happens in this fic over tumblr (i will not post it, it is so so badly written)

20. Favorite fic you've written?

truthfully, i think it's Dear Your Holiness. i wrote that just after losing my grandmother and all of the conversations about faith still sort of hit me in the gut even now. plus the tension is really nice, i love the idea of a heavily tattooed Remus, and it's the music of my teenage years so it's very sentimental for that reason, too.

               Wash closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. He took a deep breath and struggled to clear his head. He struggled to formulate some sort of image that would get him worked up. At first, he tried to think of something to horrify him. He thought about shrinking away to nothing, but even as the existential dread took him, and he felt the gooey bindings on his hands and feet pull tighter, he knew this wouldn’t give him the burst he needed.

               “Current size: seven millimeters,” Cecil narrated.

               Wash’s arms and legs ached. He wished he could scream loud enough for Cecil to release him, but the titan had no idea the pain the miniscule test subject was in, and on some level, Wash realized that he needed to be as still as possible. The worst-case scenario was that he would shrink a lot but since he had moved out of focus, the equipment wouldn’t be able to read it. Then, he’d be even smaller, and still need to shrink.

               Wash tried again to clear his mind, but there was too much going on to do that, and besides, he needed to think of something to get him worked up. He couldn’t just passively shrink to nothing. He needed something big. Something huge!

               As if on cue, Wash conjured up an image of something absolutely massive. A surreal landscape spread out in all directions. It was like something out of a sci-fi movie. Some alien world with dusty brown earth that was covered in pits from which large, long, strands of dark, black foliage emerged.

               Wash stared down at the pit before him. Even at this surreal size, he could figure out what this was. This was a belly button! He was staring down a belly button that was the size of a back-yard pool. The shrubbery that tangled around his shoulders was the happy trail leading to this pit. The thick strands of hair were easily as thick as Wash’s wrist.

               Wash looked behind him. The dense jungle grew thicker and taller as the path stretched on towards the titan’s cock. Part of Wash wanted to go that way. He wanted to experience what a cock of that size would be like. Wash had no idea how tall he was. A millimeter? Two? Three? Even three seemed excessive. He had dipped below half a centimeter ages ago, after all.

               As the titan slowly sat up, Wash slid backwards. He found himself having to grasp for the dense underbrush of the titan’s treasure trail to keep from plummeting the seemingly thousands of feet below. Fortunately, the strands of hair were thicker… or rather, Wash himself was smaller! He was still steadily dwindling.

               Slowly the face of the titan came into view, but Wash knew the identity as soon as the dark, curly locks started to come into view. It was Harvey! Wash’s heart raced and his cock shuddered as the smiling face of the titan slowly came into view.

               Wash was less than a tick on the titan’s body. He was barely even a louse. There was no way his god could see him, right?

               As if to answer his question, Harvey smiled down at the shrunken stud. He reached an impossibly massive hand down and plucked the miniscule man from the tangled hairs of his happy trail.

               Wash was too tiny to be grasped between Harvey’s thumb and pointer finger safely. Instead, the titan placed a fingertip down towards the shrunken man so that Wash could crawl up onto the shelf of the titan’s fingernail.

               Nestled amidst the grit between the titan’s fingertip and nail, Wash stepped forward and placed with hands and forehead against the warm flesh of his titan. This was his whole world now. His whole planet. Wash had shrunken away to nearly nothing, but at least for now he was safe. Harvey would make sure of it.

               In a moment of intense euphoria, Wash’s entire body shuddered. He was less than a louse. He was less than a speck of grit underneath the titan’s fingernail, and yet he had never been happier. Wash let out a long, low, contented moan, and his cock bucked and lurched as ropes of cum erupted forth.

Wash curled into the fetal position and grasped his head as he tried to stop the world from spinning and spinning. All the while he felt like he was hurtling downward into the abyss.

               Far, far above – a distance that felt like thousands of miles – Wash could hear Cecil’s voice. It was so loud that it caused Wash’s very cells to shake.

               “Subject… George Washington… Current Size… Uh… Well, shit…”

               The announcement was followed by an intense slam followed by more slams which seemed to travel thousands of miles further with each thud. Then Wash heard the roaring voice of Cecil coming from impossibly far away.

               “Harvey! I think I’ve figured it out, but you’re not gonna like it!”

Additional Events

In Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg, players are reintroduced to Marie, a struggling student at the Royal Academy of Magic, whose ultimate goal is to create an item within five years that will satisfy her teacher. This re-imagined take on the classic title introduces freshly written additional events for a completely new scenario where players will be able to learn intimate details about the characters that were not in the original story!

Photo Mode

In addition, Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg players can immortalize their cozy RPG adventure in the all-new Photo Mode. Here, they can play with poses and expressions of Marie and friends. Pictures taken can then be decorated with stamps and other items, while also enabling players to head to the “Hall of Memories” to change filters, frames and camera angles.

Minigames

Also reworked for Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg are six fun and exciting minigames, remade for the latest platforms. Games include “Punipuni Hammer,” “Golden Salmon Search,” “Catch Those Rats,” “Apple Rush,” “Treasure Hunt,” and “Name Collector.” Minigames can be accessed from the “Extras” menu and succeeding in these minigames will reward players with valuable new items!

Reading the books: "My Youth Romantic Comedy is wrong, as I expected."

What takes 15 days? Correct! Reading the 14 main line novels of "My Youth Romantic Comedy is wrong, as I expected." and the Volume 14.5 short story collection. What a ride...

What I definitely can say: The anime series was extremely faithful to the books. When you stick to the mainline and omit the short stories, you would mostly miss out on one thing. The best thing!

Hachiman Hikigaya's endless inner monologue!!

Good lord, this boy has issues. He's overly in his own head, makes lots of assumptions, is too smart for his own good, and too clueless. I just love it.

Gazing into the abyss with rotten eyes

Writing a series completely or almost completely from the point of view of its protagonist, basically mostly from his stream of consciousness, has of course its own set of challenges. Luckily it's not plain stream of consciousness but also scene setting and descriptions of the other people's actions, and a lot of the fun of the series derives from contrasting Hikki's assumptions and interpretations with your own.

It's also frustrating... (Also, spoilers, I guess.)

And late in the series I was asking myself, if the boy had any connection to his feelings at all. Author Wataru Watari has a habit of hiding the obvious, and so our main characters beat around the bush to the very last. I did get a tad annoying. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

What actually works quite well is the evolutionary change we see in Hachiman over the series. The way he thinks about people changes subtly and continuously. In the beginning he even calls the ever-lovely Yui Yuigahama a "ho" and a "slut" to her face. Hardly charming!! This is one of the moments one has to endure, proof of Hachiman's resentment towards the world after having been ostracized for so long, his hate for "normies." And on the surface, Yui is the uber-normie, the adaptable, the one willing to change for the sake of popularity - something Hachiman cannot abide with. Initially.

It paves the ground, however, for enjoying all the deeper the kindness Hikki displays in his thoughts later on towards Yui, or how highly he thinks of her in the end. (Though not of her lack of book smarts which he confuses for intelligence.)

While we're at it, Hikkitani's eyes gaze upon a few other things. I was remarking in my original post about the anime series how refreshingly low on male gaze it was. Well, our protagonist is male, and he occasionally compares bust sizes... not in the most charming way, either. However, it's neither permanently so nor done unconvincingly. We did enter the mind of a male teen, after all. In reality, we would have been bound to find much worse things there, after all... Of which we get one hint, really. (I will not tell.)

An almost unbroken stream...

What we also get is a lot of Hachiman's thoughts about his boy crush Saika Totsuka. Which is endlessly hilarious in all its bi-confusion. The scenarios unfolding in his mind without filter - I can't tire of them.

However, for the first 11 volumes we are home alone inside the head of our anti-hero. The last three, however, mix things up a bit. Labeled as "Interludes" there are scenes that take place without Hachiman, written from the view of another character. With Volume 14 we also get a multi-installment "Prelude" that features the scene between Yui and Yukino we didn't get a detailed glimpse of at the end of Volume 13.

What's annoying here is the tendency of omitting part of the dialogue and only describing it vaguely. We can infer that Yukino admits her love for Hachiman to Yui - whispered in her ear. Because that's what Yui knew all along but didn't want to hear. And we get Yui admitting the same to Yukino - that she's in love with Hachiman - but again it's not spelled out. We all know. But for some silly reason it's not spelled out.

Another central interlude is earlier when Yui discovers Yukinon's hidden treasure. Behind the stuffed Grue bear Hachiman got her, her hidden image of holding on to him on Splash Mountain. (Which hasn't been quite accurately transcribed into pictures.)

These scenes are necessary to understand everybody's actions for the complex ending. To understand why Yukinoshita seems to reject Hachiman and send him towards Yuigahama. To understand why Yui will in the end ask if it really feels alright and prompts her Hikki's final bid... towards the other girl. And why they all can remain together after. It also reveals Yui's mature side, her high degree of emotional intelligence, and her deep understanding fo and love for others.

We also get a bit into the head of Iroha Isshiki, Yukino and Haruno Yukinoshita, Hayato Hayama, and even Komachi Hikigaya. And a bit more of that if you read the final volume, 14.5. But the star of these scenes will always be Yui, the glue that holds them all together at the end - at great pain.

But in Volume 14 we get maybe the most convincing thing of all, something that I needed after seeing Hikki's indecisiveness for so long. He sums it up like this:

"I wish it had been a simpler kind of feeling. If it had been ordinary love or yearning, then I'm sure I wouldn't have felt so intensely. I wouldn't feel like this only happened once in a lifetime."

This is during Hachiman's confession. He says he wasn't struggling so much with being in love or a crush. What took him so long was figuring out a very complex feeling. (The passage is longer.) He's apparently able to discern between teenager hormones and the fact how well suited he is to be with this particular person, and how important that is to the other - to be seen, understood, and be loved at a deeper level. But the complexity is also discerning it from the love he already feels - like he would for Yui.

Other things you get from the books

One of the best things about the books besides Totsuka fantasies is the ability to read Iroha's terribly revealing rejections to Hachiman, each of them escalating over the previous one, getting ever more like invitations to ask her out just not right now. And her increasing complaints that he doesn't listen at all when she says them.

Also Irohasu's merciless teasing is best paced in the books. And Hachiman's opinion of her. These two would have chemistry for sure. It's just that this particular protagonist was made from the beginning for a particular heroine, and that's what I find so convincing about this series' narrative.

Sadly volume 14.5 only treats us to only one date between Yukino and Hachiman. I was hoping for more, but I take what I get. Even on their one month anniversary they're still all blushing smiles and red ears, but at the same time Yukino is already setting out a common future. Very cute.

If you want a real treat, however, search the internet. There are several anthology volumes filled with content mostly by other authors borrowing the characters - but also the short story "Thus A New Enemy Appears Before Him" from the anthology called "Yukino's Side" written by Wataru Watari himself. It has been translated by fans - I couldn't find a way to buy an actual English translation for any of this. The short story, however, is told from the vantage of Yukino's dad - his perceptions of the three highly intelligent women in his life and how they establish facts for him. The eternal struggle of the future father-in-law is real! The way he finds out that his youngest has a boyfriend had me in stitches. Also, Yukino's mom is on her game the whole time. Basically him mostly watching as his wife, Haruno, and Yukino interact is ... priceless.
