It’s so funny to me when Americans say they wouldn’t go to Australia because it’s too dangerous as we have snakes and spiders.
You had 604 mass shootings last year. Killing 754 people and injuring 2,443.
We only have 2 snake fatalities a year and no one has died from a spider bite since 1979.

There is an obvious objection to evolutionary models which assume that our strongest social ties are based on close biological kinship: many humans just don’t like their families very much. And this appears to be just as true of present- day hunter-gatherers as anybody else. Many seem to find the prospect of living their entire lives surrounded by close relatives so unpleasant that they will travel very long distances just to get away from them. New work on the demography of modern hunter-gatherers — drawing statistical comparisons from a global sample of cases, ranging from the Hadza in Tanzania to the Australian Martu? — shows that residential groups turn out not to be made up of biological kin at all; and the burgeoning field of human genomics is beginning to suggest a similar picture for ancient hunter-gatherers as well, all the way back to the Pleistocene.
While modern Martu, for instance, might speak of themselves as if they were all descended from some common totemic ancestor, it turns out that primary biological kin actually make up less than 10 per cent of the total membership of any given residential group. Most participants are drawn from a much wider pool who do not share close genetic relationships, whose origins are scattered over very large territories, and who may not even have grown up speaking the same languages. Anyone recognized to be Martu is a potential member of any Martu band, and the same turns out to be true of the Hadza, BaYaka, !Kung San, and so on. The truly adventurous, meanwhile, can often contrive to abandon their own larger group entirely. This is all the more surprising in places like Australia, where there tend to be very elaborate kinship systems in which almost all social arrangements are ostensibly organized around genealogical descent from totemic ancestors.
It would seem, then, that kinship in such cases is really a kind of metaphor for social attachments, in much the same way we’d say ‘all men are brothers’ when trying to express internationalism (even if we can’t stand our actual brother and haven’t spoken to him for years). What’s more, the shared metaphor often extended over very long distances, as we’ve seen with the way that Turtle or Bear clans once existed across North America, or moiety systems across Australia. This made it a relatively simple matter for anyone disenchanted with their immediate biological kin to travel very long distances and still find a welcome.
love the idea that humans avoiding their annoying family by moving hundreds of miles away is part of our ancient evolutionary inheritance

Wishful Thinking: Weak Hero Characters Edition (My Imagination of Their Careers)
Edited for typo (Nobel)
I hope that Sieun (Gray) and Baekjin (Donald) will be the future mathematicians of Korea, solve new math problems and publish them academically. Maybe they will get a joint Nobel prize one day...and I hope Sieun will still ride a motorcycle!
I hope that Teo (Teddy) will run an animal shelter or pet shop. Not sure but maybe if he studies hard enough he could be a vet! Aja aja, Teo!!
I hope that Juntae (Eugene) will work in an NGO and help solve local social infrastructure problems. Maybe if he studies hard enough he could get a degree in engineering.
I hope that Juyang (Rowan) will use his Australian and Eunjang experiences to run a successful Youtube channel and become a great influencer.
I hope that Humin (Ben) will maybe try for the U-21 soccer team, and if that's too late for him I hope he could do whatever he's happy about (maybe open a popular pizza shop?). Or maybe he could join Juyang's channel.
I hope that Gayool (Gerard) will try singing again professionally, whether as a solo artist or in a band. And that he will be happy about it.
I hope that Hyuntak (Gogo) will try for a career in boxing. I hope he'll never, ever give up on his dreams.
I hope that Pilyoung (Philip) will become a successful businessman, but an ethical one. He's rather good as a political lobbyist too.
Whatever it is that Seongje (Wolf) wants to do I hope it's not criminal. I hope he has a hobby that he could expand into a business.
I hope that Hwangmo will find his own independent way and not just follow Seongje around anymore. I hope he'll stay friends with Jeongyeon (Jack) and Naksung. He's rather good in making friends...another person with a prospect as a lobbyist!
I hope that Hakho (Jake) will be a professional manga critic or maybe cosplayer. And occasionally play basketball or soccer with his friends and maybe Jihoon (Jimmy).
I hope that Jihoon will try to draw again and not afraid to show it to people. Maybe sketch more. Go and take a drawing course, dude. Manhwa artist as a career might be just for you...ehehe.
I hope that Sehan (Forrest) and Seungjin (Myles) will do something else other than gangster stuff.
On that note, I hope that Gongsam (Grape) can eat as many grapes as he wants. Maybe try making grape juice and sell them, or maybe a winery? Hmm.
I hope that Hyukjin (Dean) can eat as many bread as he wants and maybe try a career in modelling. His looks and drip are too good to waste. Or a gamer hehe.
I hope that Taegi (Timothy) will try a career in game development or business analyst. Gotta make use of that statistical analysis skill.
I hope that Seokhyeon (Kingsley) will find whatever he wants to do other than running the Union behind the scenes. I suspect that he might be interested in politics.
I hope that Hyoman (Colton) will find his strengths other than fighting. And this time with a better approach to life and friendships.
I hope that Seongjin will watch Gayool performing on stage again as a fan. And that he will enjoy Gayool's new music as much as he enjoyed his old one.
I hope that Dongha and Seongmok will find a great way to stay friends without hurting each other or other people. Maybe Dongha should model for a shampoo.
I hope that Jeongyeon (Kang) will be able to go to karaoke with Jihoon again, but this time with other people who also love singing! Maybe Gayool, Naksung, Seongjin, people who used to be his enemies. And I hope he will find something peaceful to do ( traveling?).

85% of Australian e-commerce content found to be plagiarised
Optidan Published a Report Recently
OptiDan, an Australia-based specialist in AI-driven SEO strategies & Solutions, has recently published a report offering fresh insights into the Australian e-commerce sector. It reveals a striking statistic about content across more than 780 online retailers: 85% of it is plagiarised. This raises severe questions about authenticity and quality in the e-commerce world, with possibly grave implications for both consumers and retailers.
Coming from the founders of OptiDan, this report illuminates an issue that has largely fallen under the radar: content duplication. The report indicates that suppliers often supply identical product descriptions to several retailers, resulting in a sea of online stores harbouring the same content. This lack of uniqueness unfortunately leads to many sites being pushed down in search engine rankings, due to algorithms detecting the duplication. This results in retailers having to spend more on visibility through paid advertising to compensate.
Key Findings in Analysis
Key findings from OptiDan's research include a worrying lack of originality, with 86% of product pages not even meeting basic word count standards. Moreover, even among those that do feature sufficient word counts, Plagiarism is distressingly widespread. Notably, OptiDan's study presented clear evidence of the detrimental impacts of poor product content on consumer trust and return rates.
Founder and former retailer JP Tucker notes, "Online retailers anticipate high product ranking by Google and expect sales without investing in necessary, quality content — an essential for both criteria." Research from 2016 by Shotfarm corroborates these findings, suggesting that 40% of customers return online purchases due to poor product content.
Tucker's industry report reveals that Google usually accepts up to 10% of plagiarism to allow for the use of common terms. Nonetheless, OptiDan's study discovered that over 85% of audited product pages were above this limit. Further, over half of the product pages evidenced plagiarism levels of over 75%.
"Whilst I knew the problem was there, the high levels produced in the Industry report surprised me," said Tucker, expressing the depth of the issue. He's also noted the manufactured absence of the product title in the product description, a crucial aspect of SEO, in 85% of their audited pages. "Just because it reads well, doesn't mean it indexes well."
OptiDan has committed itself to transforming content performance for the online retail sector, aiming to make each brand's content work for them, instead of against them. Tucker guarantees the effectiveness of OptiDan's revolutionary approach: "We specialise in transforming E-commerce SEO content within the first month, paving the way for ongoing optimisation and reindexing performance."
OptiDan has even put a money-back guarantee on its Full Content Optimisation Service for Shopify & Shopify Plus partners. This offer is expected to extend to non-Shopify customers soon. For now, all retailers can utilise a free website audit of their content through OptiDan.

mother : grace isaac nee ducatti. ( 51 ).
florence , known strictly to family only as gwyn , was born and raised in australia by her parents ; grace and rowland isaac. rowland served as lead for education , whereby he was the rank of a warrant officer , of the australian air force. one of his first deployments at the age of twenty led him to sicily , italy , where he soon met and fell in love with grace ducatti. at the time , grace was a law student and planned to become a criminal defence lawyer for high prolific cases. their romance was fast - progressing , an engagement with a year and plans for a family came soon after.
with rowland’s return to his home base , grace didn’t follow straight away. maybe that should’ve been his first red flag , but instead she chose to go travelling with some university friends. it was there , she met another man and fell into another whirlwind romance without informing her fiancée. reuniting with rowland was electrifying , a night spent under the stars and an announcement she’d been hiding to tell him in person. she’d fallen pregnant with their first child , a boy , or that’s what she told him. failing to mention it wasn’t his child , leading him into a false sense of commitment.
as rowland was none the wiser to grace’s heated rendezvous abroad , he raised dylan as any loving father did. he was taken under his wing from the moment he could walk , or that was the story repeated year or year. cut to nine years later , grace and rowland were separated again when her work took her across country and left him home alone to battle the reality of being a war hero and first - time father. memories of war began to dismantle rowland’s interior , first it was the flash backs that paralysed him in his sleep then it had audio follow its’ pursuit.
trying to navigate a stable home became difficult , hard to hide the aspects of a deteriorating mental health in view of a young child who didn’t understand at first. rowland decided to leave the air force before grace returned , discovering him more feeble than previous. he was a man who didn’t believe in therapy , would sit through the memories of a bloodbath that plagued his mind. grace , on the other hand , didn’t pay a single thought to him or their family while away , entangling herself in another man’s sheets once again.
nine months on , she’d convinced rowland he was going to be a dad again. being a father was his greatest love but the man knew it was the wrong time to raise another , he tried to discuss other options for their unborn child but grace was adamant she was having their second child , a girl to complete their quad. violent arguments grew between them , grace always having the upper hand by any means necessary ; whether that was blackmail or an attempt to guilt trip him.
with another set of little feet running around their home , florence’s father’s mental health took another plummet. episodes of disorientation and agitation happened more frequently , his anger spiking at a single squeak that escaped his daughter’s mouth. he knew he was a hazard in the home but still refused to seek medical help , grace simply dismissing his behaviour and labelling him as a neglectful father instead. neighbours raised concerns for the young child , often overbearing the heated discussions shouted through thin walls , every word enough to make a small girl cry.
his squash of memory happened more frequently , not remembering where he was or who was there. believing him to still be in an active war zone , a weapon carried at his side every minute from the moment his son left for university. florence , an upcoming ballerina , still in junior school but a top performing in fine arts and struggling with literature ; specifically reading.
words melting together like alphabet soup , spelling so atrocious that a child her inferior age could correct her. italian was her first language , one she didn’t struggle as much with but still noticeable errors occurred , english on the other hand was another story. undergoing examinations and assessments led to a diagnosis of dyslexia but with a father so unwell and a mother who’s barely home , she was a lost cause until approaching her best friend’s father , begging for some sort of guidance to help navigate her school work. she couldn’t continue to fail , with the help of his oldest , acer , she started to improve enough to get the minimum she needed to pass.
her sixteenth birthday came quick amidst the decline her father faced , it was now advised she shouldn’t be left home alone with him but grace found that hard to believe , he wouldn’t hurt his only daughter. that day proved grace wrong.
it started as any ordinary day , school drop off and eight hours locked in academia before florence returned home. she’d gone straight to her room , rowland taking his usual afternoon nap to calm the terrors in his mind but instead , they became a reality & their home was a new territory to defend from the enemy. believing his daughter to be an opponent , he charged through the home with a hammer secured tight in a fist and all florence had was a dirty butter knife to her defence. she’d manage to throw it to cause a distraction , allowing her seconds to escape from a corner where he’d trapped her and she landed in the kitchen. not her greatest idea with all the possible fatal objects but there was nowhere else to hide.
the island in the middle was her greatest tactic , able to shift the opposite way to a swinging hammer determined to meet her head. she cried , begged for him to awake from his nightmare , but no amount of pleading did her justice. another corner and she’s trapped , her only option was to fight back and that’s when she reached for a sharpened knife , plowing the blade deep into his chest. she tried to stop the bleeding , to call an ambulance who responded as a category one emergency but there was no saving him , he died in her arms and covered linen white trousers in a bloodbath , a puddle seeping underneath her that greeted her brother on his return home from the semester.
to this day , florence has never forgiven herself or forgotten that night. often woken by night terrors of her own in fear the event’s repeated. the case was dropped & she was encouraged to change her name when settled away. no one would know the story of what happened , gwyn isaac never existed. very few people know the truth , but even then she’d never told the whole story.
resentment grew inside grace towards florence for what she did , accusing her of ruining their family and bringing nothing but horror to their name. to this day , grace never told anyone that florence was never rowland’s daughter. she was a second product of an affair. instead , florence has only recently discovered this herself after agreeing to do a dna test for ‘ shits and giggles ‘.
she became a principal ballerina after her studies , flying back to italy to attend its’ dance program and achieving many accolades. she’s danced at the royal albert hall in london , plus the infamous sydney opera house. however , bad luck struck again for her.
when she turned twenty five , she started having her own ‘ funny ‘ episodes. nothing like rowland’s , it was more her physical health that took a decline. passing out , unable to rouse , eyes rolling to the back of her head were all serious concerns and she was found unconscious one night in her own home. rushed to hospital , it was there she got diagnosed with type one diabetes.
she struggled for months to come to terms with it , not understanding or processing how it took so long to become known. there was no family history , no previous signs that indicated to such a life - limiting condition. self - injecting became her next fear , afraid audience members would be able to see through her leotard where her monitor hid was enough to consider an early retirement.
after seven years dedicating her life to ballet , she hung up her slippers. for months , she’d spiralled about what to do next. she’d built a name for herself in the world of dance , gathered attention on social media for her performances for that to all suddenly end in the trash. to top it off , her brother was taken prisoner of war and entire support system was slashed after yet another argument with her mom.
a love for music genres bounced her into some luck , she dipped her toes into creating. landing herself two huge gigs in broadway , then signed onto a contract to make her own music after a video of an original song of hers , ‘ too well ‘ went viral on social media.
but bad luck was never too far away and caught up with her in the last month , falling into a private relationship over a year ago was fun and games until it was revealed he was sleeping with one of her closest friends ( wanted connections ). to distract her , she's found a new love of acting and is continuing to audition while creating music. she's finally landed her first breakout role in tv which happens to be the role of caroline forbes in the vampire diaries reboot.

On Saturday afternoon I went on an adventure. I created this mini travel blog to report it for @heywhereisperry cause the Brazilian election is on and I feel you might want a distraction.
This is my sole “road” trip to an AFLW game this year, which I did not travel by road at all. Walking and public transport for the win!
Firstly the opposition team posted this during the week, which was quite cringe and not helpful for directions. Background: my team is sponsored by KFC, while St Kilda (opposition) is by Red Rooster. Idk if RR is just an Australian brand, or international, but it’s a competing Chicken Fast Food place. KFC is better. Also, I definitely saw people eating pies at the ground, so they crazy. Pies are meat pies, served hot, meat with gravy inside pastry. Collingwood Magpies > Magpies > Pies. PURA is a milk brand that also sponsee them. They have a player that is nicknamed G-Train.
This was my initial ‘what’s in my bag’. Took out the beanie as I looked outside and it was very sunny. Pink book is about the start of the league. Was written after season 1 (2017). Reading now is very much like if someone wrote a book on the Arrowverse after Legends S1, and reading it now. Background is still their backgrounds though. Record is a magazine you pick up at the game with all the statistics you need. The mens game does one each week, AFLW is a whole season one. Very excited to pick it up this year; the last copy I got was in 2020.
Part 2: travelling to the game to come soon. (Fingers crossed for good results!)

Navigating the Future: Australia's Evolution in Accessible Accommodation for 2024
The landscape of accessible accommodation in Australia is evolving rapidly, offering more inclusive and diverse options for travelers with disabilities. As we head into 2024, the focus on long-term accommodation, short-term accommodation, and accessible accommodation has never been more critical. This article delves into the latest trends and insights, highlighting how these accommodations are shaping up across Australian cities and suburbs.
Long-term Accommodation: A Closer Look at Australia’s Offerings
Long-term accommodation in Australia is increasingly catering to the needs of individuals requiring accessible options. Major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane are leading the way, with serviced apartments and residential rentals integrating accessibility features. These accommodations are designed with wider doorways, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, and customisable furniture to cater to a broad spectrum of physical needs. The push towards inclusivity is not just a trend but a necessary evolution to accommodate the diversity of travelers and residents seeking long-term stays.
Short-term Accommodation: Flexibility and Accessibility
Short-term accommodation options, including hotels and Airbnb listings in places like Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart, are also enhancing their accessibility features. With the tourism industry’s growing recognition of the importance of inclusivity, many establishments now offer detailed descriptions of accessibility features on their websites, such as Corporate Living Accommodation. These accommodations provide temporary solutions for travelers, offering everything from ramp access and elevator facilities to accommodations with audible alerts and braille signage, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests.
Accessible Accommodation: Bridging the Gap
The term ‘accessible accommodation’ encompasses a broad range of lodging options designed to ensure individuals with disabilities can travel and stay with ease. This sector is witnessing significant growth, with a notable emphasis on creating barrier-free environments across all Australian territories. From the bustling streets of Melbourne to the scenic coasts of Queensland, accessible accommodations are becoming more prevalent. Properties are being equipped with adaptive technologies, such as voice-activated systems and smartphone-controlled room settings, to enhance the guest experience. Websites like Accessible Accommodation are pivotal in providing detailed information and booking services tailored to the needs of travelers with disabilities.
The Australian Context: Statistics and Facts
Australia’s commitment to improving accessibility in accommodation is reflected in its legislative framework and public policies. The National Disability Strategy and the Disability Discrimination Act are just two examples of the country’s efforts to promote inclusivity. According to the Australian Network on Disability, approximately 4 million Australians live with some form of disability, underscoring the importance of accessible accommodation. Furthermore, Tourism Research Australia reports that travelers with disabilities contribute significantly to the domestic tourism market, highlighting the economic imperative of catering to this demographic.
Conclusion
The shift towards more inclusive, accessible accommodation options in Australia is a positive sign of the times. As we progress into 2024, it’s clear that the focus on long-term accommodation, short-term accommodation, and accessible accommodation will continue to grow, driven by a commitment to inclusivity and the needs of travelers with disabilities. This evolution not only benefits individuals requiring these accommodations but also enriches the Australian tourism landscape, making it a more welcoming destination for all.

What Is The Cost Of Living In Australia? The Ultimate Guide
It’s no secret that Australian consumers are struggling under the weight of inflation, which peaked at 7.8% last year, but remains stubbornly high at an average of 7% for the year to March. The most recent Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data reveals that over the past 12 months, food and non-alcoholic beverages are up 8%, travel and accommodation has risen by 25%, and medical services are up 6.7%. Electricity has risen by a whopping 15.5%, the largest annual rise since 2013. What these figures translate to in real terms is higher prices at the supermarket, petrol prices nudging the $2-a-litre mark, and airfares that are above pre-pandemic levels. It means that renters are paying over 20% more each week compared to a year ago, and many consumers will be faced with bill shock over winter, with electricity prices expected to rise again by around 20% due to new maximum retailer charges set by the energy regulator.

Travel Assistance - What You Need to Know
Eligible patients travelling away from home to access specialist medical services are eligible for accommodation and travel subsidy payments. These subsidies are provided by the hospital and health service approving the travel referral.
Accommodation and travel subsidies are available for private accommodation or commercial accommodation. Patients and escorts must complete a private accommodation confirmation form, refer to Section 8: Escort Subsidy Claims. To know more about Travel Assistance , visit the Maximum Support Services website or call 1300983885.
Active School Travel is an award-winning program to encourage primary schools students and families to walk, ride a bike or scooter, carpool or catch public transport to and from school rather than driving. It reduces congestion on busy streets around schools, improves road safety and provides opportunities for physical activity that benefits health and wellbeing.
It offers a suite of tools that are tailored to each school, including a dedicated officer, stamp student passports, personalised active travel maps, Norm Appeal campaigns and competitions, and an annual evaluation report collating each school’s statistics and level of change. School committees are encouraged to identify local barriers and develop targeted strategies to address them.
Research shows that school-aged children need at least 60 minutes of moderate to intense physical activity each day, and this can be achieved by walking, cycling or scooting to school. This can help to prevent obesity and diabetes, improve mental health and mood, and reduce stress levels.
The NDIS is increasing funding for transport and taxi costs for some participants. If you are a participant with high out of pocket taxi costs, the NDIA has likely already contacted you and reviewed your transport support funding. You can check your budget on the Participant Portal or contact your Plan Manager (if you are Leap in!).
Including transport as part of your core supports can help you reduce the financial burden on yourself and your family. It can also make it easier to connect with friends, commute to work or explore your local community.
It’s important to understand the different types of NDIS transport funding and how they apply to your situation. This includes NDIS pricing arrangements, zones and invoice structures, as well as upper limits for claiming travel costs by providers. To find out more about NDIS transportation funding, read our guide on the subject.
The Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) provides financial assistance towards a person’s transport and accommodation costs when they need to travel over 100km each way to access necessary medical specialist services that are not available locally. This includes people with a psychiatric, cognitive, sensory or physical impairment, or disability. The fuel subsidy for PATS has doubled to 32c per kilometre, which will help more people to travel further for treatment.
Eligible patients can book commercial travel with their PTAS provider or privately. If a patient chooses to make their own arrangements, they must pay upfront and claim reimbursement for their expenses after their trip. Similarly, patients must lodge a claim for accommodation before travelling and provide receipts or tax invoices for their accommodation costs.
Witnesses to the inquiry identified a number of issues including complex application processes, eligibility inconsistencies and lack of support. The committee recommends that the Australian Government establish a taskforce to develop a national approach to improving these schemes.
The Interstate Patient Travel Scheme (IPTS) provides financial help for country patients and approved escorts with the cost of travelling long distances for specialist medical treatment not available in their local area. IPTS may pay for return economy airfares, reasonable accommodation and taxis to and from the airports or in some cases a living away allowance.
Eligible patients must be referred to the specialist service by a GP or other health professional and have a clinical reason for travelling interstate for specialist treatment. This includes second opinions and taking part in experimental procedures and trials. The referring doctor is required to provide details/reasoning for the referral and for a recommendation for an escort.
The hospital and health service will book the commercial travel if it is available at the appropriate rate e.g. economy/government rate, excluding GST and fees). Additional costs involved with changes to booked travel/accommodation without a clinical reason are the responsibility of the patient. To know more about Travel Assistance , visit the Maximum Support Services website or call 1300983885.

Khawaja is highly motivated to play a big game against England
Usman Khawaja is in a good mood at the moment. From his rise as a star in his early times to being on and off the team, and now being one of the mainstays of Australia in the longest format Khawaja has experienced everything. From January to 2022, not a single Test player has run more than the graceful left-handed player (1608) and, among the top ten runners in this time, Khawaja’s standard (69.90) ranks as the top among the bunch.
The two biggest tournaments, the World Test Championship finals, and the Ashes series will be held back-to-back in June 2023. And Usman Khawaja is all set to implement his skills in the above-mentioned games.
In the lead-up to the pre-tour training session held in Brisbane, Khawaja spoke at long length about his development as a batter and the inevitable issues that will arise facing him in England.
I think I have a lot of knowledge to play a valuable game that can be helpful for my side to dominate the match, says Usman. But it is unbelievable to predict the opponent’s bowlers, as they create the toughest situation for us only in the beginning. So, we just need to continue our game for a long time.
The game situation that I like is to have similar competitors that are hungry to win the game by giving a tough fight till the last over of the tournament. And I am glad that I experienced this in the Ashes series that was held against the England team. And hitting such big shots on the departure of those two England players like Broad and Anderson was one of the biggest tasks for us. But we create a good way to dominate the game against them.
It is an important thing for a cricketer who played his first test match in 2011, and it’s quite exceptional for Khawaja, who played around 60 test games in his entire cricket career.
As a matter of fact, Australia has featured in the past 124 matches from the time of his first appearance in the year 2011. The 36-year-old was of the opinion that selection committees in Australia were not always consistent when it came to their plans.
“Over the past 10 years, I believe they’ve been very reactive and the media is also very reactive. For a cricketer you’re bound to fail at least one, two, or three times, it’s typical, then you make runs, and after that, you’ll fail and you’ll score more runs. It’s a normal cycle of cricket.
“So I’ve always been keen in picking the best players and retaining them because they’ll give you the most runs regularly and, I believe that in the past, when it comes to selecting players of Australian cricket, we’ve lost our way a slightly, trying to select players that are “in the form”. However, form is only non-permanent, but class isn’t.
The new joiners that selectors have made — George Bailey, Tony Dodemaide, and Andrew McDonald — are all experienced cricketers. They know the strategy, when to play a big knock, and many more. That’s the reason why our selectors take on new players for the team. However, I am on for everything. I love each way of playing cricket, as added by Khawaja.
England was an ache in the flesh for Australian batters in the past 10 years. Other than Steve Smith (65.08), Chris Rogers (49.82), and Marnus Labuschagne (50.42) The majority of Australian batters have an average of 40 or more when they visited. Khawaja’s statistics are quite disappointing since the only way he can get a score of 19.66 in 12 innings in England and that’s something he’ll need to correct. Particularly in the light of his successes abroad in recent times.
England is the only place that creates the most difficulties for the top three batters worldwide.
It’s hard to work with, but you’ll encounter some conditions and there’s some luck as well. Sometimes, you’ll see the other team out, and then clouds appear and you’re in the field and it’s sunny and pleasant.
“If you’ve learned something from my experience, it’s to work hard, work hard and, should you decide to travel to England take a step back and set minimal expectations. Then focus on each game one at a since you’re bound to be an ineffective batsman. When you do score, attempt to earn the maximum amount you can. “

Australia economy results in terms of trade, farming and foreign commerce
Australia's trade surplus reached near-record levels at the end of 2016, with nett exports projected to contribute 1.1 percentage points to the December-quarter national accounts. In the final three months of 2017, the trade surplus reached $40.9 billion due to an increase in exports and a general reduction in imports.
Australia Terms of Trade
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that the terms of trade – the ratio of export prices to import prices – increased by 0.6% in December and remained around record highs due to rising commodity prices.
The statistics supported a rise of $13.4 billion in Australia's current account surplus, which is the difference between the trade surplus and the amount of nett income remitted abroad. In December, the current account surplus was $14.1 billion, which was below the record levels recorded in late 2021 but strong in historical context.
Foreign Commerce
Foreign commerce is anticipated to contribute 1.1 percentage points to the December quarter GDP growth estimates, which will be reported on Wednesday, due to a 1.1% increase in export volumes and a 4.3% drop in import volumes.
The statistics were consistent with the majority of experts' estimates, with forecasters predicting quarterly GDP growth of 0.7% in December, which would result in the annual pace decreasing from 5.9% to 2.7%.
With the announcement of the trade numbers, NAB lowered its quarterly GDP projection to 0.6%, while ANZ raised its estimate to 1.0%.
Students return
The increase in exports was supported by a 20% increase in the export value of travel services, as more overseas students returned to Australia following their exclusion during the first two years of the epidemic.
Despite a decrease of 0.5% in the number of exports, commodity price increases contributed to a 1.9% increase in the export value of products. The value of iron ore sales increased by 6.8%, while metal exports increased by 16.6%.
Public Demand
Public demand grew by 0.4%, indicating a small contribution of 0.1% to GDP growth from government expenditure. In terms of the forecast for interest rates, the national accounts measurements of wages and inflation will be the most significant aspect of Wednesday's publication, according to ANZ senior economist Felicity Emcity.
"Taking into consideration government salaries from today's public finance data, we anticipate the RBA's prefered measure of wider labour costs – non-farm average hourly earnings – to have increased by a moderate 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in the December quarter," she added.
Australian Economy Slowdown Forecast
Analysts and the RBA anticipate a slowdown in the economy this year due to the impact of rising interest rates on consumer expenditure.
After a dramatic 4 percent decline in December, retail consumption increased by 1.9% in January.
Tom Kennedy, an economist at JP Morgan, opined that the December decline was implausibly huge due to probable seasonal adjustment concerns."In this context, the January improvement should also be taken with a grain of salt, and it is probable that month-to-month volatility will remain elevated in subsequent readings," he added.
In light of this, increasing interest rates and declining asset values (i.e. housing) are clear headwinds for consumption, hence a slowdown in retail expenditure relative to the average of the first half of 2022 is anticipated.
Australian farming
Australia is a major agricultural producer and exporter, employing over 325,300 people in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries as of February 2015. Agriculture and its closely connected sectors make $155 billion every year, accounting for 12% of GDP. Farmers and grazers hold 135,997 farms, accounting for 61% of Australia's total land area. GDP from Agriculture in Australia decreased to 14364 AUD Million in the fourth quarter of 2022 from 14742 AUD Million in the third quarter of 2022. Australia's agriculture industry receives extremely little government support in comparison to the 37 member nations of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and other major developing agricultural producers (Greenville 2020). Between 2018 and 2020, the average amount of support (as a proportion of gross farm income) for all nations was 15.1%, with Australia receiving only 2.5%.
Although being primarily desert, farming is an important industry in Australia and farmers need access to finance and loans to ensure their business remains profitable. For those looking to finance their farming and agricultural businesses, Orchard Lending can provide the necessary assistance. We offer farm finance loans Australia wide, including loans for farm properties, agricultural equipment, and other types of agricultural finance.

World Masters Cross Country Championships preview part 2
With statistical assistance from Scott Lawrence
This blog episode will cover the 50+ and 55+ age groups. But first I owe a sincere apology to one of Australia's best ever cross country runners, Anna Thompson Munro. I have known Anna for about 25 years, yet I entirely missed her entry in the W45 events at Bathurst. My feeble excuse is that she entered as Anna Munro, whereas for years I have known her as Anna Thompson. Once alerted to my omission, I hastily consulted Wikipedia, which listed five of her appearances for Australia in the World Cross Country Championships. I subsequently learned that Anna has competed in the World Cross Country nine times! She represented Australia seven years in a row from 2002 to 2008, then again in 2010 and 2011, an extraordinary record. Her contest with Anna Kasapis in the W45 race should be a beauty.
Anyway, let's get back to the other age groups. The M50 race sees six countries represented. New Zealander Wim Luijpers has great recent track form, running 4:12 for 1500m in November. He will start as favourite. If someone travels halfway around the world for a 6k race, it's a fair bet that they might be a serious runner, and it looks that way for Frenchman Frederic Gilbert, who ran 4:22/9:15 for 1500m/3k indoors last year. Victorian Ant Rickards last week ran 16:49 for 5000m. He and another Victorian, Andrew McEvoy, who had a strong winter in 2022, are likely to be the nearest challengers to the two overseas visitors. Richard Hope is a former Victorian half marathon champion, but his current form is unknown.
(L to R) Luijpers, Gilbert, Rickards
There is only one foreign W55 entrant, so the race is likely to be yet another showdown between two Victorians, who have raced each other many times over the years, and a New South Wales speedster. Julie Norney Petrie has been in sparkling parkrun form of late, while Bev Thomas is a proven cross country runner. The two met twice in Victorian cross country events last winter - Bev beat Julie over 12k, while the result was reversed over 10k. This should be another great contest. Charlotte Middleton (NSW) is the dark horse, with outstanding 800m/1500m times in 2022, but she may be better suited to the 2k relay.
(L to R) Norney, Thomas, Middleton
Well, what an interesting line up we have in the M55 category. A few overseas runners, but the locals will dominate. Shaun Creighton (ACT) needs no introduction. What a career he has had, both as an elite open age athlete and then as a reborn 50+ runner. Lately Shaun has been running big distances and looks to have peaked nicely for this one. I think he is close to the hottest favourite in any of the overage divisions. The podium places will be hotly contested. Paul Arthur (NSW) is a former City to Surf winner and it's good to see him back in action. He will have strong opposition from John Meagher (Vic). I expect to see these three guns take the medals, but Michael Eury (Vic), Ken Wilson (NSW) and Bruce Davie (Vic) may not be far behind.
(L to R) Creighton, Meagher, Eury
In the W55 race, it's impossible to ignore Krishna Stanton (ACT now Qld). She was already famous as a Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Olympian and Australian champion at various distances. Then, from seemingly nowhere, Krishna set a world W55 marathon record in London last year. She looks impossible to beat here. Liz Miller (NSW) is another former Australian representative, but her form is unknown. If she is fit, the podium beckons. Englishwoman Julie Wilson is the only overseas entrant and she has a recent fast 3000m time, as does Karen Blay (NSW), so look for either or both to challenge for a medal.
(L to R) Stanton, Blay
So that's it for part 2 of this series. Part 3 will feature the 60+ and 65+ events. Please feel free to comment on these predictions on the usual social media platforms, especially if I have left out any nine-time Australian cross country representatives! Until next time, keep on running ...
