someone should make a website where you put in the make and model of a car and then something that you want to transport (e.g. a mattress or other furniture) and it tells you whether you can fit the thing in your car or not
#trying to acquire items off fb buy nothing groups but also idk if i can transport a mattress#i hateee possessions and i hate moving. im sort of vibing being in a new place for the novelty factor but i hate this part#skravler

Vasco and Machete are absolutely adorable, your style is so lovely and you draw the softest beds I’ve ever seen in any art ever
.
#thank you!#softest beds is a whole new compliment that's so sweet#let me go off on a weird and personal tangent for a minute#I've always found the concept of sleeping very touching somehow#it's this mandatory resting period literally everyone has to plan their life around no one has the power to avoid sleeping#if you neglect it your mind and body start to break down very quickly#sleep is such a neutral state of being no one is particularly sad or happy or evil or good while they're asleep they're just logged off#sleeping feels nice it's rejuvenating it's one of the few universal pleasures every single person has an access to#and I find it terribly cute how people have different little bedtime rituals#socks on socks off various pillow and blanket arrangements certain sounds that make them sleepy etc#and sleeping next to someone is such an act of trust#it's extremely intimate as is sex doesn't necessarily have to factor into it#getting comfortable and going unconscious with someone at the same place at the same time that just touches my heart#especially if you're invited into their bed which is a very private space a person's own little nest where the world can't reach them#even if you fall asleep in public transport there's this vulnerability to it and for the most part people respect the sanctity of sleep#and tend to leave sleeping people alone at least in my limited experience#I like drawing my characters sleeping because it feels like I'm doing them a favor granting them a little respite#anonymous#answered

While I'm in a rental and I know it can't be guaranteed to stay, I'm going to plant Richmond Birdwing Vine (pararistolochia praevenosa), Purple Violet (viola betonicifolia), and Native Violet (viola hederacea).
They're the host plants for the Richmond Birdwing and Australian Fritillary butterflies, and I keep seeing that post about a man in America who helped out significantly I think with the California pipevine swallowtail.
There's so much I can't do to help with the environment, but planting a vine I'll need to trim in my own yard alongside a handful of other native plants and having a bit of a veggie garden helps myself, my family, and some animals in the area.
#the solarpunk stuff I see is#well it's frequently all art#and when it's not it's things that feel unattainable/insurmountable to do on top of my daily life#I've a full time job and I have to factor in travel to and from that job (public transport here is shit so it takes about an hour each way)#and then maintaining the house in my free time on what little energy I have left#it feels insane to think 'well I also want to grow more food and store it and make a solar dehydrator and make more food from scratch and#get in touch with people in the community that are like minded. and get mad at our local government for its shitty maintenance of the lake#that has been cautioned against people swimming in it bc it'll make you sick#and this and that and everything else and visible mending also#fuck#so#I'm planting some new plants and impatiently waiting for my tomatoes and that's enough for now 😌

Best advice ive ever received from a person is if you want something just do it. If you want something that badly you have to be willing to put in work and time for it and make it possible, itll make your life so much better in the long run. Wanna start going to local goth shows? do research!! Try to find underground venues in your area or bands via social media and see if you can make it to a show or not. Wanna start volunteering at your local animal shelter? Absolutely nothing is stopping you. Wanna start painting like georgia okeefe?? Get some paint and a canvas and start practicing!!!! There is absolutely nothing stopping you if you figure out how to do something right the first time. Your life will IMMEDIATELY become so much brighter the more you bite the bullet and start doing things for you

trying to find shit to do and ways to meet people is really fucking hard and i hate that people boil it down to "just join a club!! just volunteer!! no those opportunities aren't only available to me bc i live in/around a major city, you just don't want to help yourself and you're too picky and also you have anxiety, which is funny to me for some reason"
#i googled volunteer groups in my area and theres like. fifteen total. most are for kids or seniors#looked for clubs in my area and wasnt able to find Any results that werent just nightclubs or sports clubs#i am In Hell#levi.txt#i just. need regular irl social interaction so bad#i am not getting nearly enough to manage my anxiety and winter is coming on so its about to get way worse for me#i cannot let it get as bad as its been again. i was in a really dark place earlier this year and i cant go back to that#i just need smth to look forward to once every week or two and a chance to talk to nice people#and ideally id love for that to be other queer people but theres ONE lgbt group in the whole fucking area#and theyre not accepting new volunteers. and they dont run any groups i could join#and i know im coming to this w complicating factors (transportation is a major issue. money also)#but like. there really is literally fucking nothing to do in this godforsaken province is there#i usually kind of assume theres stuff happening and i just dont hear abt it. im not on most social media and im v introverted#but i really dont think there is anymore! i am genuinely finding nothing out here!#delete later

#and what if I say that a lot of the people who advocate for trains and walkable cities#like the suuuuper staunch hardcore people about it. not average people#need to factor disabled people in#not vagueing anyone specific!!!! I promise I’m being general here and not shady! /genuine#but I think if we think about train utopia or public transportation utopia#you better be considering the people who can’t walk to bus stops#you better be considering bench placements in your walkable cities#what about those of us who are the kind of people who use cars to be dropped off as close to buildings as possible for less walking?#not being shady!!! also VERY PRO TRAIN MYSELF just saying we gotta be pro disability too#like do not take this as me being anti better transportation. I’m not!!! I’m very all for it#but like. just factor us into your utopia#a utopia without disabled people is… not great sldkskfkfkfkfj

i also think that the talking on the phone thing is definitely influenced by what kind of public transport you’re talking about . like i’m thinking about the loud ass bus in my city and i’m like yeah. it’s fine to talk bc you deadass cannot hear it enough for it to be bothersome over the sounds of a bus going over the worlds most uneven road. or there’s just so many people that everybody’s talking anyways that you couldn’t even distinguish it? i just cannot conceive of a situation in which it’s a problem unless you’re talking about like. a quiet nighttime train or smth
#ALSO I LOVE EAVESDROPPING. CRUCIAL POINT#even like the streetcar it’s either so full of people talking that it’s like literally who cares you can’t distinguish one convo from the#next unless you’re trying . or it’s so few people you could just. move farther away.#i just literally can’t even imagine a situation where i’m on public transport and somebody’s talking on the phone and it even registers to#me 😭 like i’m either also talking to somebody or i have my headphones in or i’m zoned tf out like ???#i’m just not that concerned about what’s going on around me idk i feel like i’m missing something when people say it’s 100% rude#but then again i think it matters when and where i’m riding public transport#like it’s usually the late morning/afternoon near a college campus/downtown area . so that’s probably a factor

AUGH. was planning a trip to a big city memorial museum i've never been to before bc all my school field trips and countless later visits were to the main art and history museum. i just looked up the memorial museum, and not only do they have a REALLY cool exhibit coming up concerning a topic i'm interested in, not only do they also have a really extensive archive that available to both academics and the public upon appointment, but volunteer opportunities are available for several positions in the museum including archival assistance!!!
it's administrative duties rather than archival management (which good, people need qualifications for that) but that's literally what i'm considering getting a degree in!!! so it's not only something i'd be passionate about if my application was accepted, but if i decide to commit and enroll this fall, then that would be getting experience in the field!
#also living history applications are available to ppl who have volunteered enough but i doubt i'd pass muster considering i look like a 13#year old boy if i pass lmao. and i'm not doing a living history role as a woman no matter how bad they might need it. so i'll pribably have#to pass on that but i'm still stupidly excited about the possibility of other volunteer work!!#i need to visit the museum and decide if i like it first before i even think about that and also factor in driving in big city traffic and#godawful streets (terrifying) or using our public transport system which i've never done before and have no idea how much it would be#just checked the price and yeah if i decide to do this i'm one million percent riding the bus idc if the route will take 45 mins to 2 hrs#i would happily spend two hours in a bus over 35 in a car having to fear for my life on the ride there. also NO PARKING POG!!!!#i may or may not post pics of my upcoming visit. oh who am i kidding i'm probably gonna post some and absolutely spam my friends with the#rest (anna this means u. i still adore ur museum pics). i also might get so entranced i forget to take any pictures which has happened#before when i get sucked into museums before lmao. we shall see#len speaks

@faithfromanewperspective sorry for replying to this in a new post the op blocked me lol 🥴 (which?? idc if you block me but it's weird given the situation like all I did was add other easily provable facts. I'm all for holding Taylor accountable for her actions but misinformation/misconstruing a narrative is equally not helpful) the post had weird vibes too like "Taylor is the Empress" thing. she is quite powerful but even she is still constricted by her contracts with the venues?? idk idk. anyway yeah laws definitely need to change surrounding concerts & events (like the very widespread "no water" rules) especially with climate change but even then. it's water.
#like the timing was definitely not great but it's not only a Brazil problem either#she's coming to Canada this time next year and we have the opposite problem like it can get COLD in November#and some of her next dates are in Australia! also in summer!#it's poor planning all around and it could have happened anywhere#hopefully something does change from this because no one else should have to die a preventable death </3#I can't really talk about Taylor's actions afterwards because I haven't kept as up to date on them but I do have my criticisms#like she really should have helped the family more financially (including transporting Ana's body home)#but idk if there were other factors preventing her or what#bella talks

#idc if they’re some of the hardest class i just need to get into a good hs class#chat#should i start thinking about what high school i want to go to#<- i mean#there are a lot of factors that go into it#like people have told me choose schools that benefit your dream career path or something#but also like there’s transportation things / distance#and just other shit too#oooo there’s this hs with a mechanics class and you get to make a car senior year#and their theatre program isn’t bad#but like#i don’t think that’s gonna help if i wanted to work in medicine#sorry for yapping

GUYS IT'D ACTUALLY BE POSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET TO A SISTERS OF MERCY CONCERT IN A REASONABLE WAY MY STOMACH IS LITERALLY SHAKING
#there's so many different factors of why the possibility is making me so happy#BUT IT IS MAKING ME HAPPY#im legit shaking inside and out like uncomfortably#it'd be my first concert and the venue seems not too big and public transport wouldn't be too bad either#i looked up the way on maps already it's doable

today has been a lot. going to bed now gnight
#shout out to the ppl who r reblogging my post about masking. love y’all#if i have to give people little reminders to make them remember that wearing a mask is important then so be it#ive had to stop volunteering at one of the animal rehabs i used to work at because they don’t mandate masks and there’s no discouragement to#coming in sick so in the past two months we’ve had maybe a dozen people saying ‘oh i have covid’ or ‘oh a person close to me (spouse#or child usually) has covid’ and the person can’t come in. and most of the volunteers are older as well which means they could be really#badly impacted. and then i was the youngest there but bc of the risk factor since people keep coming in and then finding out they have covid#I’ve had to say that I’ll do transport but won’t be coming in anymore#in other news i do iodine radiation next month and my hope is that it’ll discourage mosquitoes from ever biting me again#it’s a pipe dream but that’s ok

thoughts on italy so far is that it must be hell to be disabled here (i am disabled here and it sucks) and there are so many skinny conventionally attractive white girls in 10204950000 variations of the exact same boring as hell outfit. dislike this immensely.
#txt#i liked venice i like the public transport frankly i need to get out of whatever the quote unquote wealthy areas are because these people#are kind of noxious. also man so many cornrows on people who truly don't have the hair for it. redeeming factor so far is many men with#dangly earrings. and also pretty architecture.
