Hello! If the last slot hasn’t been filled yet, I’d like to volunteer as a guinea pig for the Three Kings Divination, please! Regardless, thank you very much for your time. (Let me know pls if the question is not preferable)
Name: Meiven
Pronouns: They/them
Majesty: Queen
Court: In Court
Element: Air
Question: How can I embody my “inner strength”? (‘Strength’ in reference to the tarot card)
Background: I had a whole long period where my guides kept giving me a message through the strength card in tarot. The message usually being to embody my ‘inner strength.’ It’s come back to haunt me recently and I’m having difficulties finding a tangible “source of strength” to draw from/drawing from these intangible feelings about inner strength. I understand courage and inner strength as a concept but not so much how to channel that through/from myself. If that makes sense.
Thank you for your time!!
- @angelici-scriptis
Three Kings Divination Explanation
For this reading, the Transient Light Tarot is the querent and the Keeper of Swords along with being the head of the Court of Air, the Neopets Tarot is the Queen and the King of Swords, and the Skyrim Tarot is the Fool and the Page of Arms.
You are the Keeper of Swords, head of the Court of Air. Your advice to yourself is the Eight of Coins upright and the Six of Swords upright. Inner strength can be a lot of things: consistency, practice, understanding one's self, cementing one's beliefs or way of doing things, or simply deciding to do things yourself. Whatever the case may be, it requires an active adjustment to how you think in order to better embody whatever that inner strength may be. Catch yourself when you feel as though you are sliding backwards, correct yourself gently, and continue forward in this new way.
In my practice, Air and Earth are enemies. They don't clash nearly as bad as Fire and Water do, but Air's focus on the intellectual realm and the mind conflict with Earth's emphasis on the material world and the body. They struggle to find a middle ground without a mediator, but if they find that middle ground, they can both benefit greatly from each other's wisdom.
Your Queen is the King of Swords, King Hagan of Brightvale. He is a wise king of a land that values learning and reading, along with being the uncle of Roberta and brother of King Skarl of Meridell. His advice to you is the Seven of Swords upright and the King of Wands upright. One of these cards speaks of lies, theft, and betrayal, but also of being cautious and observant because the truth will soon come to light. The other is the embodiment of passion and willpower, a natural leader and delegator, someone who has an idea of the future and wants to see it come to fruition. Together, Hagan's wisdom is that you must be patient and find a particular drive to find your inner strength, a sense of right and wrong, "should and shouldn't", that will fuel you.
In my practice, Air and Fire are neutral towards each other. Air is willing to listen to Fire's advice, but ultimately Air wants to maintain control of the final decision. This is compounded by a card in your own Court of Air also being here.
Your Fool is the Page of Arms, Farkas of the Companions. He is a Nord werewolf, a member of the Companions' inner circle, and the twin brother of Vilkas. Everyone gives him shit for not being book smart, but he's also the Master-level trainer (level 0 to 90) for Heavy Armor. His advice to you is the Ten of Spells reversed and the Knight of Lockpicks reversed. He reminds you that trying to force progress never turns out well and ultimately leads to burnout and further stagnation. Taking time to reflect and avoid carelessness will help, as will paying attention to your existing duties, whatever those may be. Don't take on too much in search of your inner strength that you wind up ignoring the other things you must do, whether for your guides or for your mundane life.
In my practice, reversed cards become their opposite element, meaning that this is a duo of Water and Air instead of Fire and Earth. Air and Water are the best of friends, and Air trusts Water's advice above the other elements. They look out for each other and have each other's backs.
Please reblog this with feedback or send feedback to the ask box, as this is part of a test of the Three Kings Divination!
These readings wipe me out, so any insight, munching and crunching, and rambling thoughts you have about the reading will be very helpful with me analyzing how well this spread is doing! Anything you feel is pertinent, interesting, or personal - including your own interpretations of the cards or elements, if you wish - are welcome! Feel free to reblog this to whatever blog is most appropriate!

Three Kings Divination Spread
After rounds of testing and refining, I present to you, the completed Three Kings Divination Spread! This is a spread used for getting advice (which, in my opinion, all good tarot spreads should do to varying degrees).
Feel free to use this for yourself or for free readings, but do not use it for paid readings and do not claim that you invented this particular spread. I went through a lot of trouble to figure this whole thing out and troubleshoot it over on @jasper-tarot-reader. Other than that, I don't care what you do with it. Print it out, eat it, shit on it, I don't care.
Finally, if you independently decide to invent your own Three Kings-inspired tarot thing, great! More of us should be poking at Creepypastas for inspiration, and there are a shitload of other ways to approach this ritual-story and turn it into a spread, some of which I worked on before I narrowed down to this. Get silly with it.
The Story
The Three Kings Ritual was originally posted on Reddit's r/NoSleep under the title "Please don't actually try this." by FableForge. This is a ritual creepypasta focused on helping you tap into (but not travel to) a place that the OP calls the Shadowside in order to ask questions and have them answered, sometimes with more questions.
It's a very short Creepypasta and it's worth reading in full to understand this spread in its entirety. You need the context of the source for the reading to help it make sense, even moreso than the average pop culture tarot spread.
We are not going through all that trouble to tap fully into the Shadowside. Instead, we are using the general theory of this ritual-story as a framing device for a standard advice-seeking reading, potentially tapping into other entities (pop culture or not) for their perspectives.
The Setup
There are several things you need in order to get started:
three tarot decks
a strong appreciation for and decent understanding of the elements that line up with the tarot suits
a large surface to do the readings on, ideally with you sitting facing the north (or north-ish) so you have plenty of room for cards
something to prop up the Kings/Queen and Fool so that they can "see" both you and the other card
Ideally, you will want to use two decks with incredibly established "characters" for the Court cards, and one deck with unestablished "characters" for the Court cards for the querent.
You will then sit roughly as seen below:
The red cards are your significators, which we will talk about more in the next section, while the white cards with the black details are the actual ones you draw for the reading. I usually cap it at two cards each. You will be sitting facing the north (as is seen in the original Creepypasta) at a table or desk with plenty of space for the cards and reading to spread out.
This spread is broken up into two categories: In Court and Out Of Court. It is entirely up to you about whether or not your question is for within your Court or from outside of it. Regardless of the version, you choose the Court whose element you are most connected to.
In Court readings are typically best for questions in which you are the primary decision-maker but would like advice. This version has you as the King (represented by the King/Queen card) and grants you the Queen (represented by the other Queen/King of the same suit) and the Fool (represented by the Knight/Page of the same suit).
Out Of Court readings are typically best for questions in which you are on equal decision-making footing with others (typically spirit guides or deities) or you need advice from someone who is an equal. This version has you as a King (represented by the King/Queen) and involves picking two equivalent Kings (if you use a King card yourself, use two more Kings; if you use a Queen card, use two more Queens) from other suits.
If your tarot deck has renamed the Court members, choose from the "top two". For example, in the Transient Light Tarot, I would choose from the Crown (King) or Keeper (Queen) instead of the Champion (Knight) or Apprentice (Page).
(Since my practice with the four elements involves them having an allied element, an enemy element, and a neutral element, I typically pick the allied and neutral elements to the querent's element.)
This is why you need three decks - the Querent deck, the Queen/King deck, and the Fool/King deck - to represent their respective advice. Fandom decks for pieces of media you enjoy can actually be useful for this even if they otherwise suck as divination tools, since you already know the characters quite well.
I tend to work clockwise - the querent in the middle, the Queen/one of the Kings at the northwest/11 o'clock position, and the Fool/the other King at the northeast/1 o'clock position. But I've also accidentally reversed it a few times and it still came out fine as long as the cards were in their right spots.
The Reading
This is the most standard part of this reading. You are going to refer to yourself as King [Querent Name] or Queen [Querent Name] and use the formal titles of your Queen and Fool/other two Kings (if they have them) while asking your question. You will also have to repeat your query and any background information three times.
Do not belittle yourself in the reading - you are the querent, you are the one with the most agency in this reading, you are a King getting advice from your Court or speaking to Kings of other Courts, and there is nothing to fear. You are merely getting advice from beings that you respect the opinions, thoughts, and advice of.
When drawing cards for the reading, keep it balanced. Don't draw one card for yourself, three for the Queen, and two for the Fool. Everyone gets equal say in this spread.
Don't be surprised if the "advice to yourself" portion (the Querent part) just reiterates the problem. This is helpful too, because it gives you a good look at the situation in the context of the rest of the cards. You are both reading the cards separately (as advice from the different Court members) and together (as one giant clusterfuck reading, just separated into understandable chunks).
Finally, expect this to knock you on your ass if you pour energy into your readings. Three decks and an average of six cards plus searching for the three Court cards beforehand for the reading and, if you're me, tapping into the pop culture entities involved (even accidentally but I keep doing it) will wipe you the fuck out. At the risk of using a metaphor, you are not examining already-identified patches in your tomato garden, you are getting lost in the woods and fighting a coyote with nothing but a plastic water bottle and a stick you found on the ground. And sometimes that's what you need in life to get some good advice.

choose a... thing! (tarot card reading)
image source "what do you need to know?" spaghetti monster: what is that, pipe cleaner? affixed to some... nuts? hey, don't take that the wrong way. ploom the caterpillar: i don't even have the words to describe this thing. desert rain frog: ">:(" book a reading through dm/ask!
spaghetti monster・。.・゜✭
it's time to stop dwelling on the past! yes, you've probably experienced some sort of heartache, whether that be through betrayal, loneliness, or a bit of both. rest assured, in letting go, you will be off to bigger, and much better things. one of your cards is specific to this deck: the future. this emphasizes that now is THE time to move on! leave what has been hurting you behind-- it's leaving whether you want it to or not. this is a major point in your life, as signified by death and amplified by the future, which can (and will!) heed significant results. the hierophant tells you that the answers you seek will be found through joining with others, most likely an organization of some kind. you must be part of the group, working and striving with others to make the change you seek. heartache doesn't last forever, but what you're about to do with this group will. it's a long road, but at the end of it is happiness, fortune, and abundance abound!!! hey, this is a lot more cheerful than the last one! yahoo!
(the future [from the transient light tarot], 10 of pentacles reversed, the hierophant, 3 of swords reversed, death reversed)
ploom the caterpillar・。.・゜✭
another spread about letting go!!! except this one feels more pertinent. well, let's be real, the last one was pretty dire, too... anyway. my little caterpillars, your cards are less about the past or future, and more about the present. in fact, only about the present! the 10 of wands shows that you've been shouldering too much on your back, likely relating to self consciousness, some sort of inability to say "no", and/or difficulty especially in regards to living in the moment. but here's the thing... you've gotta. the hanged man puts it clearly: in order to get what you want, this situation requires you completely let go of whatever it is you've been holding onto. whether that's how you're being perceived or otherwise, it must be shed. the hanged man is upside down, able to see the world from a completely different perspective. try to change how you see things. live in the present moment and see what you notice; what changes when you give your entire attention to what someone is saying? or the thing you're doing? is everything really as you thought it was after seeing it from this new perspective? however you need to enact this change, the time to strike is right fucking now, baby. the engines are revving and ready to GO!!! don't be scared, what happens next is destiny. o_<~✭
(8 of wands, the hanged man, 10 of wands, the present reversed [from the transient light tarot.])
desert rain frog・。.・゜✭
like those who picked pile 2, the time for movement is NOW, my little froggies! you must declare yourself openly!! you are blessed to have a good head on your shoulders, being intelligent and good at handling authority. however! moving forwards, you will need to learn how to temper this energy (knight of swords). sometimes, this can go too far, where unadulterated words can hurt someone, coming across as blunt. it's true that you do know a lot about the world, but you need to let there be space for others' observations and knowledge. you can't possibly know everything! after making this big declaration, or finding this missing piece of the puzzle, you will get to the heart of the matter, to sift between what is true, what is fake, and to learn what to say-- versus what to definitely not say. a useful asset later on will be using the energy of the queen of cups, which means you must react to others through compassion and kindness, and try to be in tune with their emotional undercurrents. easier said than done, right? however, with the use of your intuition and logic combined, it will be much easier to wade through this future situation. in the meantime, i'd use that talkative knight of swords energy to propel yourself towards... whatever it is you need to propel yourself towards. here's a tip, whenever i feel a lightness in my chest, i know the answer's yes, but a pit in my stomach, be expected to plummet!!!... or, um, "no" would be the answer for that one. good luck! im also getting that some (3?) of you have some sort of.. "telepathic bond." no idea what that means! good luck with that, too, though.
(8 of wands, knight of swords, ace of swords reversed, queen of cups reversed)

Art Week! It's Art Week Now! (just for me, personally) So Here's Mordecai!
More description under the cut, but I almost broke my eyes just producing the image and I'm a little sick of the details, for which I apologize.
I adapted this "simplified style" 'cos my eyes ain't work right, but woah momma, the tarot cards have a lot of detail and symbolism. I went back and added more vs the original-style image with the nice shading.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/282a03daf57c028e7039c4c0ef7a88cf/fd26e5799fbbf6f4-1d/s540x810/5c1f13355c59d824f925926d8bb6493d85179eb6.jpg)
There's more stuff in the gutter because I realized Mordecai has more people he ought to be responsible for that he has nevertheless lost... but maybe not forever. That's water in the gutter, and I have a fire/water dichotomy of loss going on. Fire is when you're actively involved in the destruction, for good or ill.
(Here's Mordecai's distaff counterpart, for comparison. Hyacinth will kick ya to the curb and burn shit to the ground whether you deserve it or not! But she also might change you and help make something really cool with the pieces.)
Mordecai's situation is more like "all that you love will be carried away," which I first encountered as a line in a Stephen King short story, regarding transients and bus stations. Sometimes it's a matter of acceptance and letting go, and sometimes a matter of abject helplessness. He's happily playing music with his eyes closed, so he hasn't noticed anything missing yet. When he does, some things may be recoverable, and some things lost forever.
Like Hyacinth, Mordecai is willing to rescue and help fix things he didn't even break or throw away - but he will break stuff and throw it away, too. Just depends on the kind of day he's having!
Mordecai's neglected responsibilities are, left to right: Seth and Alba (empty bottle and white rose) whom he knew during the Siege of San Rosille, Milo and Ann (red roses - rendered as black!) who have already adopted him as a father figure, although none of them know it yet, and Erik (fallen toy soldier) who Alba damn well told him to watch, but who is off kickstarting the plot unsupervised even as Mordecai plays.
In broader terms, I'm putting "real things" in black (or black outlines with a colour fill, for after Calliope brings the rainbow in Year 2) and things that are there, but not visible in pure light. He's playing music, so we got notes in bright white, as well as a few glow effects highlighting important stuff. (Mordecai used to play cello for silent films, so that gets a little glow, and Erik is in peril right now, so that's a regular sunburst!)
If you've had this yeeted at you without context, these are not just OCs I'm planning to do something with. I been done a thing! I've just been meaning to illustrate it for a long time and I'm trying to get people to look at it. So if you think they look cool and you wish there was a story with them, there is! It's just not super popular.
For my few readers who are in search of an update, I'm trying to finish the first four illustrations so I can head over to Tapas and see about re-publishing everything in order - hopefully for a wider audience. We'll see how that goes! First, though, I'm doin' the art! Ann's card is next, I already have Hyacinth, and then I need The General!
I half draw and half cut-and-paste, but everything I use is in the public domain. This stuff is CC-BY-NC-SA (except the nice stuff with the shading, I put some paid stock stuff in there and you might get in trouble for reprinting it) so feel free to remix and share, just give me credit and don't sell it!
And for being so patient and reading this far, here's a bonus pen/paper/scan version of this illustration from the early days!

Themes and Keywords: Pure will. First flash. Insight. Great force, swiftly expended. A spark. Energy expenditure, transient energy. Decisive action. Masculine power. Fired up. One explosive shot toward a goal. Impulsiveness and impetuosity. Leadership. Creating destiny. Opportunity arising. Entrepreneurial spirit. Astrology/Related Decans The Wands’ patriarch embodies the qualities of mutable fire, having ownership of the first two decans of Sagittarius. In essence he is fiery, galvanized, generous, and impulsive, charging forth with zeal. He also picks up the last decan of Scorpio as a hidden part of his nature. Scorpio’s motto is “I desire,” and Sagittarius says, “I aim.” His desires drive him ever forward, toward a goal. On occasion he chases castles in the air. While his dreams may not always be pragmatic, they are visionary, energized, and impassioned. He exemplifies the force of divine will: primal initiations and explosive creativity. The first decan of Sagittarius (Mercury-ruled) gives swiftness and inspiration.230 Like lightning and thought itself, his power is brilliant yet transient. The lunar-ruled middle decan adds strength to his commencement, vitality arising from adaptability to the constant of change. His Scorpio decan debauch (Venus-ruled) shows a possible profligate nature when his energy wavers. Elemental The King (RWS) or Knight (Thoth) represents the lightning flash, the “fiery part of fire.” Fire being the first of the four elements, he lights the way for the other court cards. All Wands concern the life force, the will, human drives; he in particular has the fiery qualities of swiftness and flammability or contagiousness. His brilliance can be an inspiring source of guidance, but his heat is quickly spent. Like fuel, he bears immense potential energy, rapidly consumed. Like flames on tinder, he leaps impulsively from one thing to the next; his charisma challenges all to follow or be left behind. Susan T. Chang

Sidney Crosby - general reading.
This is a request from one of my followers. A reading for Canadian ice hockey player Sidney Crosby. I have to admit I am no sports fanatic, and I am not even fan of sports. I know nothing about ice hockey players. So I am doing a reading here based on no knowledge about this person. But let’s give it a try anyways.

God of the underworld: This person is looked upon as a God in his field. A ten. The chosen one. Or whatever you choose to call him. A very talented and dedicated person in what he does. He understands his duty, he sees his responsibilities both as solo and as a teamplayer. He is very much appreciated by his team.
Reward yourself: he has been giving a lot of himself and sometimes he forgets it is equally important for him to be rewarded and appreciated from time to time. This balance of giving and recieving is important.
Ground yourself: this is about being aware and mindul of his presence. Stay grounded in whatever you do.
Call your spirit home: this is not unlike the previous card. It’s about remembering your place, your people, your home. Remember who deserves your utmost attention…sometimes it can be oneself. Give yourself the time of the day to pat yourself on the shoulder and say : good job!
When it comes to love: willingness: he is able to compromiss if the end result is love. But again he is reminded here: love yourself first. To be able to gove of yourself, to love someone else, you must start with yourself. Honeymoon: this doesn’t neccessary mean a honeymoon but more as a metaphore to spend more time with your loved one/partner. Enjoy eachother. Spend time together. Bring love and playfulness back to your relationship.
Page of wands: A positive and upbeat card, the Upright Page of Wands brings both good news and good vibes. Not only are these things coming you’re way, but they are coming quickly. It is a card full of hope and ambition, with an aspect of newness to it. Perhaps Sidney is soon to begin a new adventure or journey.
Nine of swords: but he has some self doubts and fear. Similar to the other fear cards, this card is not an indication of negative events actually happening, just that his fear and anxiety levels are so high they are making him feel that things are worse than they are. In short, he may be making mountains out of molehills. It represents stress, burdens, negative thinking. That is why it is important for him to focus on self love and grounding. And also rewarding himself.
8 of wands: The Eight of Wands signifies a time of swift action, rapid progression, and forward momentum, encouraging him to seize opportunities and anticipate swift outcomes. The great storyteller, Aesop, might have believed that slow and steady wins the race, but the Eight of Wands begs to differ. Movement, travel, and exciting projects are in store for those visited by the Eight of Wands. So again, this indicates some exciting news. This card often surfaces in readings when you’re expecting visitors or good sign of new energy into your life.
6 of swords: The Six of Swords tarot card represents overcoming obstacles and moving forward. The battle has been won and now is the time to unwind and recharge your batteries. I don’t know much about hockey games, maybe there has been some challenges and tough matches lately? And he has or is about to overcome these challenges?
5 of pentacles: It is a bit difficult to shine a positive light on the Five of Pentacles card. It’s one of those cards that not many people desire in reading. It represents sickness, poverty, and general struggle. But effects are transient, not long-term. So this is about a temporary lesson. Sometimes you have to lose to win big? That might be the case here.
I hope you enjoy this reading. And please keep in mind that this is done for entertainment purposes only. I use tarotcards and oracle cards actively in my readings, as well as my intuition. Energies come and go, what is relevant for today’s reading might change in a few weeks time. But some aspects will always remain constant and the same. Thank you.❤️

Hello, dear mutual! It is I, Obsidian (they/them), with a query. I celebrated a birthday recently, a mathematically satisfying one, at that. I was thinking about the road thus far and wondering what the next two and change decades will be like. I've never been the best at thinking very far ahead. My question is, For what should I strive in the next 25 years? What should I seek? What might I find?
Here, some bubbles of good fortune for your time 🫧
Hey Obsidian! I decided to pull more than one card for this reading, and I used the Transient Light Tarot by Ari Wisner. This deck is pointedly gender-neutral and features poems for the Major Arcana and for the suits of the Minor Arcana. It has given us the 5 Vessels, the 10 Wands, and the Ace of Coins.
Three broken eggs with two still in the basket. Ten carefully-tied bundles of sticks and brush, still with the flowers in some cases. A gated, verdant garden that you are on the outside of - or perhaps a gate leading out from a well-mowed lawn into the wider world beyond the fence.
Knowing better (knowing not to put all your eggs in one basket) will not always keep us from doing something, and likewise, looking back with regret also won't change how things went. Abundance and success comes with the burden and responsibilities of maintaining it; you may even discover things that are impossible or hard to explain to others, particularly on the spiritual side. But through making the most of what remains and pulling yourself back up (or permitting others to help you back to your feet), you eventually build something for you - a secret garden, a happy home, your favorite version of yourself, whatever it may be. In order to do that, you may have to take the risk and dabble in things that you aren't going to get into long-term.
Wherever the staff leads, Use your intuition and take that direction The match that ignites A fire within
How fast do you want the river to flow? Do you need to put up a dam?
As we traverse from one to 10 1 to 10 1 to ten 1 to x
How can you build your foundation With the aim of most abundance? What will your legacy be?
(This was patched together from the chunks of the poems for the suits, with the third being consistent among all suits.)
Twenty-five years is a long span of time. That's a quarter of a century, it would bring us to the halfway mark of this century. Dabble. Learn. Fuck up and move on from your fuck ups. Focus on creating something in your life that you love and cherish and are willing to sink time into. A worthy long-term goal for all of us, frankly.
Wow, this reading got esoteric as hell, huh? Anyway, if you feel so inclined, please feel free to send feedback in my ask box, leave feedback in a reblog of this reading, and/or reblog my reading guidelines!

You get two crystals! The first is Tree Agate, which helps with growth and new beginnings. The other, I don't really know, but I assume it's red mud jasper.
For decks, I chose the Transient Light Tarot.

New Chapter - Deck of Many Dragons
Chapter 63: Five of Pentacles
UPRIGHT: Financial loss, poverty, lack mindset, isolation, worry.
REVERSED: Recovery from financial loss, spiritual poverty.
Fives are warnings and this one is no different. You’re in a bad situation, probably with money or material possessions. There are ways out and things that could help you, but you’re so focused on the problem that you can’t see them. Try stopping for a moment and get another point of view. You aren’t as isolated and alone as you think you are. That’s your jerk-brain lying to you. Don’t listen to it. Check in with the people who love you. You aren’t alone.

Any recommendations on tarot/oracle decks that have simple designs and don't hurt the eyes?
If bright colors hurt the eyes, I recommend the Transient Light Tarot. It utilizes black, brown, white, and a desaturated green on all of the cards, keeping things simple and aiming for making the deck as gender-neutral as possible.

The image was stolen from an Etsy listing because my camera is ass. Probably don't buy tarot decks off of Etsy, they tend to be scams.
If simple pip decks are what you're looking for, consider the Celestial Tarot Cards. This deck is very simplistic but has a little more color at its disposal than the Transient Light Tarot.

This image was also stolen from Etsy.
As for oracle decks, consider the Spirit Allies deck and the Green Witch Oracle.
The Spirit Allies deck is broken up into "goddesses", plants, crystals, animals, and zodiac signs. I tend to read the goddess and zodiac sign cards as personalities of figures, not necessarily Cleopatra, Libra, or Oshun. Also, there's a cannabis card, just in case you don't like weed.

Noticing a pattern of me stealing these images from Etsy? This one is actually really pretty.
The Green Witch Oracle, by contrast, is solely about plants. I don't care much for the spells included, but it provides divination meanings, cultivation techniques, and correspondences and associations for the plants in question. The elements don't always line up, but it is what it is.

This image was stolen from someone's website. It looks a lot like the image for the Amazon listing.
These are just 4 out of the 58 decks I own, but they're some of the ones I reached for first when you asked for decks with simple designs. I hope some of these seem interesting! If not, I can keep digging!
