Somehow people are confused that Emmrich was a popular LI option. Lemme break it down:

- Man is FIT. He isn’t Davrin-level muscle, but man had no problem rolling around, wielding powerful magic AND boomshakalaking Rook until they were too worn-out to wake up at least the same time as him?

- EVERY outfit is on point. It’s like every suit, shirt and pants he has have been altered for his figure, even if you set aside the likely pricey quality of the fabrics. Speaking of…

- Jewels. Gold. Everywhere on his person. It’s a miracle he hasn’t been robbed in broad daylight.

- Incredibly educated. He is a professor truly dedicated to teaching his best, shown by how he’s surprised he would be taking 10 students which is a small class size by most standards. He writes books. He has enough vocabulary to sweeten his flirting even more without seeming overly cheesy. He knows enough fancy art to recognise Viago’s collection by sight, and explain why Orlesian art loves gold.

- Unapologetically himself. It could be the ‘tism, but one of the most endearing aspects of Emmrich’s personality is how he would happily launch into a seminar-level explanation of his magic and necromancy. He doesn’t deny being a poor child and disliking stuffy nobles. He doesn’t think himself above Hezenkross when he deduced she failed in achieving complete lichdom.

His age is a turn-off for many, but it’s also why he is so charming, having had many opportunities to see through life and death, process many of his experiences, and still find beauty and hope.

mercy seems like a long shot here, so my prayer for inauguration day 2025: may they be incompetent. may they just be really bad at implementation. may their egos choke their effectiveness. may they drown themselves week by week with infighting and selfish posturing. may they be easily distracted. may the very governors and senators and agencies and religious leaders that the new administration expects to be friendly force endless stalemates to preserve their own power. may every delay turn into a three ring blame circus so chaotic that no one remembers what they were doing. may the good and necessary parts of government be too boring to draw attention and keep running quietly in the background. may the next four years be full of sound and fury and signify nothing.

At work there used to be a sign on a few things that would say like "if this bubbles, run for your life" and "if you hear thumping run for cover" and "bears can and will kill you" and really in general I wish the park service was more willing to say "you are not at home, you are not at disneyland, you can die here and you can die so badly your family will have to bury an empty casket because no one will risk their own life to collect your idiot corpse."

Offer kudos and comments frequently. These are NOT “treats”, but necessary dietary requirements. Many fanfic writers lack the metabolic pathway to generate these vital building blocks for themselves and must have it in their diet.

If you live with a fanfic writer, be sure to supply them with tea, snacks, and enrichment. This can simply be time to consume media, but may include extemporaneous diatribe about the plot holes in said media. Should this occur, provide an ear or a shoulder and then give the the mental time and space to convert the emotions into fanfic.

Do NOT attempt to shake the fanfic writer in an attempt to jostle loose the words! They have already tried that and no one wants the words to work more than them!

“When will fanfic writers update their stories?”

“Does this fanfic writer have adequate enrichment to engage in writing behaviours?”

Fanfiction writers (Scriptor fictus) are intelligent animals who need plenty of enrichment as well as encouragement! If they’re stuck in poor conditions (e.g. have studies, work, have to actually write to have something written) then they require the proper enrichment to engage in more healthy behaviours, like writing. Remember, due to poor breeding and socialisation, over half of all fanfic writers suffer from low self confidence and executive dysfunction so take care of them!

Give your fanfic writers proper care. Fanfiction writers are a life long commitment.

imagine being a bird watching hot ones. you'd be like "wtf is 'hot sauce,' peppers don't do that" bc you don't have the neural receptors that cause a burning sensation if your tissues come in contact with capsaicin; you can stick your whole head in a ghost pepper no problem, so you'd think, wow these bald apes are full of shit they are faking a whole big physiological response to normal food for entertainment. weird. and then you'd be like wait, what are they eating? what are they eating?

if i had a time machine and i wanted to absolutely destroy an ancient emperor or king, i would take them to the shark tunnel of an aquarium. giving them an ozymandias view of their legacy would do nothing, they can see that all empires rot just by looking around them. but the shark tunnel of an aquarium is something they haven’t seen before, something no one has seen before, something magnificent that they could build with technology only slightly out of their reach. they would bankrupt their nation trying to recreate that shark tunnel for themself. their dynasty would collapse within three generations, and, if heaven is on my side, they themself will be eaten by a shark to the delight of generations of historians to come
