today is the day! THE WICKED BARGAIN is out in the world today! THE WICKED BARGAIN is about found family and embracing the parts of yourself that scare you the most. there’s magic, and unabashedly queer characters (including a trans protagonist!), and diablos, and demonios. I poured so much of myself into this story. I’m so proud of this book and so excited to finally share it with all of you 😊 #transbooks #yabooks #bookstagram #queerbooks #booknerdigans #bookbirthday https://www.instagram.com/p/CpNYfoUryZ1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

so many possible books to read for the #transrightsreadathon, but I may have to make time for a reread ♥︎ . LILY AND DUNKIN by @dgephartwrites is a middle grade contemporary with dual pov. it’s been a few years since I read it, but I remember loving the main characters. lily is a trans girl, and dunkin (who has bipolar disorder) is the new kid in town. the two become friends. try to save lily’s favorite free. sweet yet heartbreaking. . a couple of other books I’m reading: call me him by @river.braun and out now: queer we go again. . are you participating in the readathon? what books are you reading or have read by trans authors and/or with trans characters? . also, if you haven’t already, follow the #transrightsreadathon creator, @sim_bookstagrams_badly! . #bookstagram #booklove #book #bookish #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #readersofig #authorssupportingauthors #authorcommunity #transbooks #transrightsarehumanrights https://www.instagram.com/p/CqOhIvgrb24/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It’s March 20th which means it’s day 1 of the #transrightsreadathon Excited to hopefully read Out of the Blue by Jason June and The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School by Sonora Reyes over the course of this readathon as I’ve had them in my physical tbr for a while! Also excited for my kindle options (on the second slide)! If somehow I finish all those (I’ve been reading pretty slow recently so it’ll be a toss up) I’m planning to do a reread of Café con Lychee by Emery Lee and of The Tea Dragon Collection from K. O’Neill. Excited about all the other books that people have been talking about leading up to this readathon and have been adding soooo many books to my tbr! Other than books I’m hoping to share accounts/posts that have a donation goal for the readathon! You should check out @sim_bookstagrams_badly, the one who started the whole idea of the readathon and has been/is still fundraising! To probably no one's surprise, I haven't read The Sunbearer Trials yet. I have this bad habit of buying books knowing they're going to be in a series and either reading them quickly, getting mad there's a cliffhanger, or buying it and waiting for the rest of the series to come out before reading. Rarely is there an in-between.
Book two hasn't even been announced yet, and I don't want to run the risk of the former happening, so it's been sitting on my shelf with my other two Aiden Thomas books. I'll get to it eventually. 🤷🏻♀️
Which one are you? Waiting until the whole series is completed or reading as they're published despite possible cliffhangers?

Part 5 of random books from my LGBTQIA+ book masterlist, where you can filter by genre, representation, relationship, target age group, and more.
❤️ Several of the books on this list are self-published or do not get a lot of recognition, so I thought, what better way to share than use a random number generator to grab 3 books at a time and share them with all of you!
💛 For right now I am focusing on the first in a series or books that can be read as standalones. I also try to skip over any that might be blatantly harmful.
💚 So what do you think? Think you will be adding any of these books to your TBR?
📖 Pack of Her Own: ?/5⭐(Unread) 📖 Love Me for Who I Am: ?/5⭐(Unread) 📖 Court of the Undying Seasons: ?/5⭐ (Unread)
💜 DISCLAIMER: I have not read all of these books so I cannot attest to their quality or the issues that may arise in them. I have tried to note which I have or have not read. It is also highly recommended that readers check trigger warnings to decide if a book is right for them.

“The Velvet Lounge series is a thrilling ride through Intrigue, Love, Sex & Betrayal. Brace yourself for a story where every heartbeat counts, every kiss could be the last, and every twist keeps you on the edge of your seat. “
The Velvet Lounge is the city's most alluring queer bar, owned by Riley and Sam Parker, whose charm and mystery captivate everyone who enters. But behind the seductive ambiance and intoxicating music lies a dangerous secret: Riley, Sam, and their friends operate an underground detective agency, using their various skills to deliver vigilante justice against hate crime perpetrators ignored by the authorities.
Riley Parker, a masc lesbian and former police officer turned bartender, is the fearless leader of this clandestine group. Alongside her wife Sam, a brilliant hacker with a tragic past, and their trusted friends—Jackie, a pansexual dynamo, and her lesbian partner Sophia, Ethan, a rich gay playboy, Jordan, a trans widower, and Lila, a bisexual woman who wears her heart on her sleeve—they navigate a world filled with danger, deception, and relentless pursuit of truth.
When a series of brutal hate crimes targets their community, the group takes on the mission to find out who murdered another member of their community. Tensions rise as personal relationships are tested, secrets are revealed, and trust is shattered.
“Crimes, Lies and Seduction:The Velvet Lounge Series - ( Book 1 )” is a provocative sexy thriller! A gripping tale of love, betrayal, and resilience. It delves into the complexities of human relationships, the strength of community, and the relentless pursuit of justice. As a battle unfolds within the club’s hidden depths, it becomes a fight for survival, for truth, and for the right to live and love freely. In the end, it's not just about saving their sanctuary; it's about redefining what it means to fight for a better world.

Published books I've read & recommend with a nonbinary main character or love interest in which you never learn the character's AGAB or too many details about their presentation.
Note that I'm not saying this quality is good or bad; it's just one way of writing nonbinary characters. Queer & trans identities are pretty much completely incidental in all these books.
Short list today - please add to it if you know of more:
Infernal Affairs by Jordan L. Hawk - Paranormal romance novella in which a male demon falls in love with a nonbinary human. This book is very funny and a little sexy, but the sex is not too explicit. This is the only one on today's list in which the nonbinary character does not have any point-of-view sections.
American Hippo by Sarah Gailey - Fantasy and alt-history about hippo-riding cowboys in the 1800s American South. This is primarily an action-adventure novel (with explicit violence) but the m/nb romance plot is fairly prominent. There is another nonbinary character as well (genderfluid).
The Heartbreak Handshake by JR Hart - Contemporary romance, m/nb pairing. Cute fake-dating plot, engaging characters, and a sweet small-town setting. Both characters are also ace-spectrum. Disclaimer: I beta-read this book.
Also of possible interest: Lock In series by John Scalzi - The main character's gender is not given, and you can imagine them any way you'd like. Their physical body is (sort of) separate from their consciousness, due to a disability accomodation. These are fun near-future sci-fi mystery novels and they don't have romance plots.
My previous book lists:
Books with trans men as main characters (x)
Books with aromantic and/or asexual main characters (x)
Books with grumpy/sunshine pairings (x)
