3 days post op taking 5 minute binder breaks each day!

I never wore a binder to flatten my chest and I am autistic so this has been sensory HELL for me. Additionally the tubes coming out have been horrible. But I am staying high on pain meds even though I have not truly needed them for pain. They only gave me 6 so I don’t feel bad using them in a slightly different way.

I feel like to have had little to no pain. I also feel very lucky to have like 95% of my arm mobility and range of motion!

It will take forever for me to get used to not having such large tities…but that is okay. I am so happy w how my chest looks right now!!

Tomorrow I get my drains removed and I am even happier it is happening so soon! I am barely leaking any fluids which is amazing(and I have been ‘milking’ the tubes several times a day).

The binder is irritating my skin though! Right at the top of my chest. So I have my ultra plush face towels between my skin and the binder there to reduce the irritation.

Tomorrow I will take a shower and wash my hair and am most excited for that shower. I have been too scared to use the wipes I got myself because I haven’t wanted even more NEW sensory stimulation.

Overall I feel good and I am happy and so excited to heal and try on clothes tomorrow :) as soon as the drains are gone I will be wearing clothes.

I have to go to the hospital to visit a friend of mine who is transgender today. She attempted to take her life.A lot of people think it's easy being Transgender and to get to where I did which is fully female I can tell you it isn't easy to get here and many transgender people don't make it and get lost in the system and don't get to be their true self and that is sad. My friend is at Grey nuns hospital here in Edmonton I can tell u when I was early on in my transition and I was in grey nuns hospital for the same thing I was lost in the system and getting no help in my transition and decided that if I couldn't transition I didn't want to live. I was lucky I made it but many trans people don't I have been in grey nuns hospital I can tell u it's a shit hole. In the cell they put you in with a steel toilet and a bed that is basically a piece of plywood platform with a mattress thrown on top and a steel sink it's a jail cell. I have been there at this hospital and I sat alone in there with no one coming to visit me. That's why I am going to see my friend today and see how she's doing. I hope she gets out soon. It saddens me to see my transgender friends in the hospital because they attempted to end everything because of not being able to transition or because of family who turn their back people because of who they are. There are a lot of things that can happen. They need to make the transition process here in Alberta Canada easier for trans individuals. I can tell you that even once you get to where I am which is fully transitioned you still face discrimination I just got pushed out of my home by Boardwalk REIT LLP AKA Boardwalk Properties a major apartment rental here in Canada due to the symptoms of my disabilities and because of my gender identity being Transgender. So even once you get to where I am you still face discrimination on the basis of who u are. My top surgery date got pushed back a single day. But this is okay because this morning I thought it was going to be rescheduled entirely due to insurance wanting an unnecessary additional letter.

Turns out my insurance approved the surgery AFTER speaking with my surgeon! They told her earlier in the day Wednesday that they wanted a mental health letter in addition to the letter they got from my primary care physician/hormone doctor. So she of course told me right away so I can get that figured out asap.

I SCRAMBLED and called so many doctors to see if they could write and send in this letter ASAP. My normal psychiatrist tells me today she needs time to look it all over and discuss w her supervisor to see if she is authorized to write this and send it to me and would let me know at our next appointment which is 12.5.23.

I was freaking out so I called the insurance company. They inform me everything was approved, and they do NOT need anything else for me AND this approval lasts for a whole 6months!!

So I then reach out to my surgeon, explaining the timeline of it all and that everything is good to go, and a nurse messages back informing me the date has been changed to the day after the original.

This has taken up my entire day instead of getting annyyyy work done. So I am relieved but now need to heavily focus on doing my job.

I am so excited to not have titties anymore!!!!!
