The purpose of right wing media is to tell people who've never experienced things how they work in the most frightening way possible. . Remember when conservatives were losing their mind over WOKE INDOCTRINATION ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES? The way they talked about it, they made it seem like there were armed guards at the gates forcing you to declare your pronouns or whatever. . How many of the people who actually believed that junk do you think have ever actually set foot on a college campus? . But it must be true because the fancy man on TV said it is! And the fancy man is my friend because he tells me what is true every day. . Keep this in mind as you listen to people talk. What are they talking about, and what direct experience do they have with it? . Sure, nobody can experience everything. But when you find someone speaking authoritatively on a subject they have no real experience on, ask them how they know. Eventually, the best answer you'll get is "a guy told me," or "just watch this video bro trust me" . And, fine. . But that doesn't make them an authority on the subject. . Us leftists are not immune to this either. When we're in a space where people more knowledgeable than us are talking, it's a great idea to spend some time listening, or asking clarifying questions to expand your knowledge. .
