One of my managers at work keeps misgendering me and on Saturday she made an announcement to the entire store and misgendered me in that announcement. I talked to her afterwards and told her to stop misgendering me and that if it happens again, I’m going to contact hr. She was apologetic but she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and said “I always try to make a point to say he”- she only genders me correctly about half of the time

I mainly work in the kitchen at work, but when I’m back I’ll be on register for a few weeks. (No lifting fryer baskets with 15lbs of chicken for a while 😞)
Some people from my old store stop in occasionally and if one of them sees me that’ll be so awkward. They’re gonna be like “Where did the titties go???”
If that happens hopefully they don’t ask me. I don’t want to out myself as trans to them :/

Man, sometimes being trans is so fucking tiring, and it's not the big things that get me, I expect random guys at bars to be transphobic, I expect all the red tape and gatekeeping around medically transitioning, I know my family is still gonna call me by my deadname no matter what I do, none of those things are surprising to me, I'm perfectly capable of dealing with them. What I didn't expect tho, is all the fucking microagressions at work. So I'm completely out at work, everyone knows I'm trans, they know my chosen name and my pronouns, and they're perfect about it to my face, but apparently, apparently, the moment I turn my back, they're misgendering me. How do I know this, someone forwarded me the wrong email, an email that the head of HR sent to the administrative head, about getting me an access card for the university, an email in which the fucking head of HR misgendered me, I don't know how many people saw that email, how many people do that behind my back, I sure as hell don't feel like I can trust anyone I work with anymore. And like, I can't even report it to HR cause HR did the misgendering, the same HR who I explained to what my pronouns (he/him exclusively at work) are, who I explained to how to refer to me if she's unsure if the other person knows I'm trans or not (just don't gender me, (I don't pass very well yet, so if someone doesn't know I'm trans they're thinking I'm a girl)) and she then proceeded to use she/her multiple times in her opening email to admin. Its frustrating, she's not like that to my face, she pretends to be an ally to my face, I very much prefer my transphobes in uniform hey

Genuinely, what happened to “feminism is for everyone”?
That’s the feminism I grew up with: encouraging people to recognize that fighting sexism and restrictive gender roles helps folks of every gender. We’d push back on the idea that feminists hate men, pointing to inclusive feminist literature and how many men are feminists.
Now, there are so many people insisting that the solution to patriarchy is to openly hate and ostracize men no matter what. Why? What is the benefit? It’s certainly not effective in fighting oppressive structures to exclude half the population from your cause on the basis of immutable traits. It may feel cathartic to say horrible things about men and try to punish them for your frustrations with patriarchy. But the only actual effect I see is the increasing right-wing radicalization of young men, who are being told that the left hates them for the way they were born and presented with an abundance of proof that it’s true.
Why are we going back to treating men and women as different species? It doesn’t fix things to say “well women are the good gender and men are the bad one” this time. If you sincerely want to dismantle sexism, you’re going to have to unpack and let go of all sex and gender essentialism—even that which considers women inherently pure and men inherently immoral.

Still can’t believe my coworkers first questions when he heard I’m on t were:
Wait but you cant like grow a dick right?
Oh so can you get hard?
I was almost offended but like he’s just the most bros bro possible. like to summarize his vibe: he got arrested while on shift last week & was like.. extremely casual about it lol. He got fired from his last barback gig because he fist fought some guy from the kitchen “but we fought at a different bar, like not the one we worked at, so I thought it wouldn’t be a problem!”

So today I accidentally came out as trans at work. We got a new employee at work a few days ago and today he asked me what my pronouns were (he yelled across the house we were in so everyone heard the question) and I said “I’m not exactly out” and asked what his pronouns were and he said he’s not out either. So I went downstairs to talk to him and turns out he’s also transmasc and I told him I’m 6 months on t and still closeted at work. And then I told one of my other coworkers who was with us in the house that I’m trans. And when I got back to the office I told the only other coworker who I was out to that she’s free to out me to my other coworkers. So it’s been a very eventful day. I’m afraid to go to work tomorrow lol. But I’ll be officially 6 months on t tomorrow so that’s exciting. Also I found out I can’t legally change my gender marker in my state without having surgery :/

One of the most frustrating things I had to do before getting top surgery was letting my coworkers know I’d be gone for a month. It pretty much always went like:
Me: I’ll be out for surgery for a month.
Them: Oh, what surgery are you getting?
Me: A double mastectomy.
Them: *Looks shocked/horrified/sad* Oh no! I’m so sorry!
Me: No, don’t be, it’s a good thing
Them: ???
I appreciate that they were trying to emphasize with me, but it’s so awkward when most of them don’t know I’m trans and assume I must be devastated that I’m getting them removed. But like, no please, be happy for me.
