I’m almost certain the portrayal of Aemond trying to murder his own brother and almost letting Rhaenys and her dragon get away because he’s busy targeting his brother (and king) is a result of his previous popularity among both sides of the fandom. I remember seeing posts after he was aged up in season one from fans hoping he’d switch sides and support Rhaenyra / team black instead and by weakening the greens from the inside that’s exactly what he’s done. Helped team black by destroying the greens, one of their dragons and their king.

Why is Lloyd the literal definition of those overpowered hybrid princess main characters in gacha life mini movies with a concerning amount of trauma

Lloyd is basically the legendary prophesied green ninja destined to battle the literal embodiment of evil when he was a mere child AND with a broken foot (spoiler alert: he won)

Not only that he was also homeless AND parentless for a portion of his life when he was a bratty child longing for the comfort of his own nonexistent family. Then he found out that he was the grandson of a god and was a part-dragon, part-oni, half human hybrid which is CRAZY work.

Bro could literally transform into a gold four-armed monster if provoked (but unfortunately the writers most likely forgot about that trait) AND WE HAVE YET TO SEE WHAT HIS DRAGON FORM MAY LOOK LIKE!!!

that would be perfect for ollie's gf to be a bear cub. i imagine she's clingy like a bear cub too, and it would be common for her to just scamper towards ollie when she needs some love, and to crawl up his long legs. unfortunately, more often than not, ollie would end up with the legs of his sparco racesuits and sleeves of his alpinestars fireproofs accidentally ripped up from her long claws. not that he minded, though. he would just pick her up both of his hands and give her a big smooch on her nose. at first, the prema manager in charge of racesuit distribution would be pissed the constant ruined clothing, but like everyone else, she would fall into the loveable bear cub spell and then spoil ollie's gf rotten. ollie has not only protective boyfriend instincts, but also fierce momma bear-like traits too. god forbid someone tries to harm his girlfriend- they always seemed to have their balaclava's ripped up and radio headphones cords cut before a big race!

i like the idea that paul aron has a songbird!gf. many of the f2 drivers joke that paul is like a princess with a feathery friend, just like george russell and his deer. nevertheless, he takes pride when his gf flutters around his head, singing the most beautiful tunes, or when she nests in the fluffy blonde ringlets on his head. when the jokes go to far, he knows that she doesn't hesitate to dive bomb the offending person and attempt to peck at their eyeballs.

it's not a secret that dino's gf loved dinosaurs. her phone case and background are pics of dinosaurs (she makes sure that a polaroid of her boyfriend is visible from her phone case at all times, though), she takes great care in putting up dinosaur string lights around the driver's room, and she knows every line from jurassic park. hell, even her boyfriend's name is dino. when she found out her special ability, she was over the moon. komodo dragons were basically mini dinosaurs! when she went out in the paddock, some people might have found her scaly, amphibious outer layer scary, but dino loved every bit. when he had bit of spare time from racing, he made sure to research every page on google and read every book on komodo dragons from cover to cover to make sure he could best take care of of his gf when she shifted. in return, she used her scary nature (and toxic/venomous spit) to piss off irritating reporters or touchy fans.

i had a question about hybrid babies

do they come out looking like the human at all? if so how much (like human traits, or simply the coloration, or just the aura/addictiveness)?

or do they come out looking like the monster parent's mini-me?

The monster genes are stronger, so the hybrid will look mostly like their parent except in the rare case they are more human looking. Hybrids tend to have larger eyes that are more endearing and human-like, their fur/feathers/hair is usually closer in appearance to their Human parent than their monster parent, and hybrids tend to be either much smaller or larger than normal for their species, but it also depends on the monster type of the infant.

Harpy hybrids tend to carry more of their Harpy parent's colors than the Humans, but still have large eyes and a few less feathers around their face and body. Centaur/cervitaur/drider types tend to have hair/fur/mane colors closer to their Human parent, but eye colors closer to their monster parent (excepting Kelpies who always have white body fur outside of water and yellow/green/blue colored body fur in water). Naga hybrids tend to have similar scale and hair color to their monster parents, but skin color and eye color closer to their Human parent. Nemean Lions have never had Human hybrid young, so jury is still out on how they would look as hybrids. Dragon hybrids look near identical to their monster parent, but their ears are just a little bit more rounded and their eyes just a touch larger than full dragons (they still have full draconic forms and humanoid forms despite being hybrids).

Elementals and Nymph Hybrids are near miniature copies of their Elemental/Nymph parents minus the more flesh-like texture of their skin as opposed to the way it would be on a full Elemental/Nymph. The skin is usually how you can tell they are a Hybrid paired with that near irresistible charm that they inherited from their Human parents.

As far as the addictive quality of all Humans and Hybrids, a direct 1/2 & 1/2 hybrid's addictiveness is half that of their Human parents. The further away from Human the hybrid descendants are, the less addictive they are to other monsters. Key examples being Neige and Vil. Vil is 1/12th human and is still put on a pedestal and has several addictive qualities, though nowhere near as intense as a full or half human. Neige is 1/10th Human and for that fact alone is more addictive than Vil, meaning no matter how beautiful or strong Vil is, Neige will still be put in a rung higher than Vil. The only way Vil could be put above Neige in popularity and beauty is if Vil had the Human as his mate.

Now, there are hybrids who came out mostly Human minus a few monster traits. The most famous example being the Little Mermaid Princess' daughter- Melody- who looked almost completely Human minus her salmon-pink merfolk tail in water. Out of water she looked fully human (other than her webbed toes). Little Princess Melody was considered the most beautiful merfolk to exist because of this mostly Human appearance. Most merfolk think Humans are the peak of beauty and try to look like Humans themselves.

I think there is far too much fantribe hate on here. There are quite a few fantribes out there that have fun designs and lore and it's fun to make your own character for them. Having restrictions can make designing more fun because it forces you to think creatively. They also come with a community of people who also enjoy the tribe.

Making fantribes closed allows for the owner to manage them more easily and make some money for their creation. So many fantribes have tons of thought and effort behind them, and people want to support the creator. People don't buy the really expensive adopts because they think it's the only way to get a candy inspired dragon or whatever. They do it because they want to support the tribe/artist or because they really like the specific design. I've also seen tribes do adopts to give to charity or pay for the owners disability aids or their college or medical bills.

The tribes I like also have ways to get them for free, through raffles or events. One tribe that I really like has had this event where you draw other people's fantribe characters so that you can get MYOs (make your own, for those who don't know). It's super fun because the whole community gets involved and it's like a mini Artfight!

I really don't get people being like "you're making money off an existing IP!!!" or "that's copyright infringement!!" or whatever. Because like. Have you heard of fan works in general?? Making money off of fantribes is no different than profiting from canon tribe adopts, or WoF OC commissions, or WoF bases, or fanmerch, etc. etc. etc. All of that probably does violate copyright law or whatever but most of the time companies don't really care. They're not really losing profit because Greendragon64 bought a SparkleWing adopt for 300 DeviantArt points. (That example is made up) It seems odd to condemn fantribes for making money off of the WoF IP while endorsing fanmerch and the like which do the exact same thing. It feels like people really just aren't personal fans of fantribes (which is perfectly fine) so they grasp for a reason for them to be morally wrong or hurtful. But really, fantribes aren't hurting anyone. You don't want to pay for them? You think they're too expensive? You think a certain tribe is uncreative or too restrictive? Cool. Don't interact with them then. Make your own unique characters with whatever traits you want. You can literally draw anything! There's no need to hate on those who do like them, or make "knock off" or "off brand" fantribe characters out of spite.

I want to elaborate and say that this fic will be written by three authors, and it involves:

1) inhuman, monstrous bishops. If you take them out of their human vessels, they look so fucking spooky. Some of them can inflict psychosis and sleep paralysis now. More bishop possession of non-human vessels! More of that time a bishop possessed a fucking dragon! More undeath! Regular people can also be transfigured into whatever the hell a bishop is. And it's traumatic. Good luck!

2) those same kind of monsters that decided to not become "bishops" or truly integrate with Dema exist on their own terms throughout Trench as rogues — meaning the Dema bishops are just weirdos who made an authoritarian society, and are not the only ones of their "kind" that exist at all. Like, those things are all over the place.

That makes the council pretty cult-like for hiding the rest of the world from normal human people.

It's not just Banditos out there, either.

There's also a diversity of accents and language, because I said so (the canon narrative draws tiny bits from Iceland, Norway, and Ukraine, to my knowledge, and I wanted to run with it — one new character is inspired off Bulgaria.)

3) Bishops have assistants and understudies – there's a system for that. It takes a lot to run a city, you know. Whether they're treated horribly or "good" depends on their overseer, who they're training with, what they're training for, their own disposition, and how anybody feels at any given moment.

4) Their associated "traits" are not from the wiki because we decided fuck the wiki and decided that whatever it is bishops "are" is not limited to just being insecurities. There are literally new characters that embody or rule over Grief, Megalomania, Bloodlust, and Corruption.

5) Anything you thought was dark about the original story is about to get a million times worse. There's literally a rogue vulture-daemon feeding off illegal deaths, a Bonnie-and-Clyde couple going around wasting bodies by just committing fucking murder, Nico is in charge of SCHOOLING which is NOT GREAT FOR ANYONE, an understudy writing religious propaganda meant to be as disturbing as possible that only gets worse with time, entire families getting murked in order to groom a specific understudy into being a mini-Nico, and the list goes on. This is awful. Like, terrible in every way.

Also all the bishops get personalities and jobs. Sacarver, you are a predatory cupid and I love you.

How do you write characters consistent with each chapter and how do you make dialogue for each one?

Your question: "how to write characters with a consistent personality in each chapter. I run into a problem where I change my character’s personality a lot when writing each chapter to fit the situation and it ends up making them look like a different character entirely. I want to know how I can keep it like that while showing improvement in their character development. For example, the main character of a story I'm doing is scared of facing himself and his mistakes in the past which leads to self deprecating himself. The problem is that now ever time I write a new chapter, the self deprecation gets worse and loses meaning and he acts so differently."

Sorry it took me a while to answer. I had to think about a helpful reply and organize my thoughts. I get that you're going through the classic "my character feels like five different people in a trench coat" problem. Been there. But here's the thing, writing consistent characters is like parenting. You want them to grow up, but not turn into complete strangers every time they face a new situation. Fixing this problem is easy but it needs practice tho. The tips I can give you to overcome that are simply 7 but you have to actually put the effort and try to change your style in order to get better.

1. Know Your Character Like You Stalked Them on Social Media

Write down the core traits of your character. Not just “scared of facing himself.” Get specific.

• How does he react when someone compliments him? (Cringes? Shrugs it off? Makes a joke?)

• What’s his default way of coping? (Angry cleaning? Self-deprecating humor? Avoidance through snacks?)

2. Anchor the Self-Deprecation

The problem isn’t that your character is self-deprecating; it’s that you’ve probably cranked the volume to 11 from what you told me and now it’s just noise. Self-deprecation works best in layers, like an onion.

• Early chapters: He uses it as a shield. Maybe he makes a sarcastic comment to avoid an awkward truth.

• Midway: It starts slipping—he self-deprecates, but it stings a little more because he's aware of how deep he’s drowning.

• Later: The self-deprecation shifts—maybe it’s tinged with acceptance or even humor. He’s owning it, not drowning in it.

3. Test his Personality in Different Settings

In my opinion, your character should feel like the same person whether they’re fighting a dragon or deciding what to order at Starbucks. The stakes are for sure different, but his core reactions will stay the same no matter what. So I advice you try oracticing writing different scenarios that may not be in the book just to get to know him better.

• Example: If your character is awkward and self-loathing, he’ll probably stammer and overthink his Starbucks order. In a fight, he might hesitate and second-guess himself.

Same guy, different vibe.

4. Growth is important too

When you want to show character growth, don’t just tell he’s changing. Show it in contrast. Yk, just like the show don't tell thing

• Early chapters: He flinches at confrontation, hides behind jokes, or spirals into self-hate.

• Later chapters: He still flinches, but now he pushes through. He makes a joke but adds, “Yeah, I know it’s bad. I’m working on it.”

5. Focus on Dialogue

Your character’s dialogue is like their fingerprint. If you nailed it early, use it as a touchstone. Does he always deflect with humor? Does he avoid big words because he doesn’t want to sound smart?

6. Write the ‘What Would They Do?’ test

Whenever you get stuck, ask yourself:

• How would my character respond if someone spilled coffee on them?

• What would they say to their crush?

• How would they handle being stuck in an elevator with their ex?

These mini scenarios force you to think about how your character’s core personality shines through. Same thing like testing his personality in different settings but that one doesn't need many writing practice.

7. Ask for Feedback (But Not from Your Mom)

Share your chapters with someone who knows your character as well as you do. Like a friend maybe. If they say, “Why is he acting like a whole new person in Chapter 7?” then you’ve got a red flag to fix.

actually now that i think about it it pisses me off SO much that nintendo was hyping TotK as "incredibly dark" story-wise, and then having an ending that erases all of that built up tension by (SPOILER) restoring zelda and giving link his own arm back (even tho rauru said he had to REPLACE IT LIKE???)

i think a better way to end it would've been having zelda unable to transform back, HOWEVER, they were able to restore her sense of self and ability to speak-- she could no longer live among mortals but at least everyone could find closure through it

if not that, then turn her back but not all the way, have her keep draconic traits that will never let her be identified as just hylian ever again, they could even give her minor amnesia and set up an implied post-game link-taking-care-of-her/restoring-her-memory thing

and link's arm should've at the very least been scarred to hell if it HAD to be "restored" i still think he should've kept rauru's arm tbh

anyway, back on topic, TotK NEVER gave me an emotional heartstring jerk the same way Midna's Lament, the credits scenes of MM, or Byrne's sacrifice all made me feel. and these moments are all in different games, spirit tracks arguably being the most lighthearted in the series

there were PLENTY of moments of AWE in TotK-- the leadup to the Wind Temple and Colgera, Rauru's sacrifice, Ganondorf's fight-- but not one single moment made me actively sad outside of dragon tear 13-- before i knew zelda would be fine

"but Cy, Midna was fine in TP so it's the same as zelda in TotK" yeah, but at the end of the game she still ends up sacrificing her connection to the light for the sake of protecting everyone she'd come to care about, plus the emotional weight of Midna's Lament was so much stronger because it was happening IN THE PRESENT. in my first playthrough, i assumed that segment was timed in some fashion which added to my stress and worry for midna, making the scene leagues more impactful

at the end of the day, there isn't one single thing that happened in TotK that was sad AND lasting. lurelin falls, but nobody's harmed and you can restore it. the four regions have mini calamities on their hands, but beating the temples reverses ALL their effects. you can argue that there is lasting effects on hyrule-- namely being chunks of sky rock plunged into the surface-- but that's not sad, it's just unfortunate

nothing in TotK REMAINS dark, and that's what bothers me the most about nintendo saying it's "the darkest in the series" because it's a bold-faced fucking lie

Seasons of Love Challenge

If you want a mini-challenge that centers on romance, story, and gameplay, then this might be the perfect challenge for you! I introduce to you, the Seasons of Love Challenge! Pair up or create four pairs and be the matchmaker and the writer of their destiny. Get indulged with their story and help them find love by the end of the season!

For each season, we have different couple that may or may not fall in love before the season ends. I recommend that you edit the in-game season length, it can be up to 7, 12, 21 or 25 days per season, depending to you. This challenge can either be rotational or generational, it’s completely up to you. 

Feel free to remove and add some more activities to the following. These are not really rules, but more like guides or checklist that you can do so that you won’t run out of ideas to do for each round, and hopefully, help progress the relationship of the each pair. 

For those who prefer slow-burn romance (like me!) there’s a Slowburn Romance Edition by the end with some set of rules, be sure to check that out! This is supposedly a personal challenge for my game, but I thought it would be nice to share it with the community. trope:  enemies to lovers

backstory:

 - sim A is demoted from her work because of her hotheaded nature, and was assigned in this town where her grandparents/(or) sister live. She absolutely hates that, she wants to go up the ladder and build her name, but how can she do that now that she's demoted and stuck in this town?

 - sim B is carefree and enigmatic, living his life to the fullest. He used to get sick a lot when he was a child and now that he's a teen and rarely gets sick anymore, he wants to break free from those restrictions and do the things he hasn't done in his childhood. 

how things started:

  ~ Just few days before his birthday, sim B is feeling rebellious and wants to spend the best of his teenage days, even if that means breaking the curfew. So, he stayed out late with his friends to party and even went to the beach and lit some fireworks just before he go home. But, on his way home, the police patrol saw him! He knew he's so screwed, but what can he do? He plead with the cop, which happens to be Sim A, but she don't take any of his bullshit. Which eventually leads to some misunderstanding, fight and disliking each other. Guess the last of his teenage day is remarkable afterall, especially if you're being escorted back to your house in police car. 

  ~ If things aren't already worst as they are, he, unfortunately, bumped with the same cop again when she joined the surfing/scuba diving club. Oh well, guess they have to see each other a lot now. Will this be the perfect summer as he imagined, or will it be totally ruined because of that one hot-headed cop?

  ~ Sim A was surprise to see Sim B again. He always wanted to make up and be friends with her again, but he always felt shy and small when he sees her with her new set of friend and popular boyfriend. Now that she's back, will he finally have the courage to talk to her again?

But things took a drastic change when Sim B suddenly disappeared when his father died, leaving him to live with his mother in France, leaving sim B behind. Sim B never expected this, she never expected to bear a child with Sim A as well. She can't seem to find him anymore, but still, she decided that she will raise this child. 

  ~ Years later, Sim B discovered that their child was sick and only had a few months left. Pile with grief, the kid is constantly looking for his/her father as well. Why exactly does HotD feel the need to ignore that Rhaenyra, Rhaenys, Laena, Baela, and Rhaena already had characterizations that are not only tied to their actions, but also manage to distinguish them from each other while also linking them to one another?

The "boring" and "dry" source material managed to give us five related women who expressed a "Targaryen woman's strength" and agency in five unique (but still related) ways. And HotD thinks it's somehow an improvement to insist that actually, no, they're all just (by circumstance) variations of a "generic targ girl" template.

The same people who removed Jace's accomplishments, which in turn were a statement about Rhaenyra, and filled in the characterization void they left by portraying him as a mini-Daemon moreso than Baela, because Baela can't be her mini-Daemon book!self because that suggests a good relationship and Daemon needs to have as many of his good qualities removed as possible and as many new crimes invented as possible, including one that necessitates stripping Laena of her characterization, in order to service an invented "redemption arc" that will be used to justify removing Rhaena's characterization for a nonsensical dragon conflict that consumes her whole identity to the point that she ends up merged with another character she has nothing in common with.

You can't change core traits of characters from a book like Fire & Blood. The fact that the characters feel so "utilitarian" might make it feel like you can. But the fact that they're utilitarian means that all those (interconnected) traits are there for a reason because all their (interconnected) actions are driven by those traits.

And yet something tells me these writers are going to try to make a statement about "hubris."

If Condal or Hess said this, flame them. If you can't design a person from the role given in the original work, you shouldn't be a creative writer. I really hate that you might be right about the hubris. Like, why the blacks? So do the Starks have hubris for having pride in their house or loving their family? No, so why the Targs and esp the blacks? Though they revealed themselves to be as close to Targ antis as they can get from all their marketing-focused internet search for how the general fandom regards the Targs and their narrative roles.

Part of the reason why they might think of these characters having no real distinct personalities is that they've never really adjusted to reading the book and picking up on characters from the mix of setting, actions, and words. The lack of PoVs triggers a certain wrong kind of detachment.

OOhhh there are so many different ideas to explore when dragons are a thing

If its in a modern world is there still technology involved in the racing if the drivers are using dragons instead of cars? the dragons wouldn't have wheels to change in pitstops and such. does each drive get just one dragon or do they get a new one every year like how the car changes i can imagine each team having their own dragon nursery / ranch kind of thing and over time the dragons would start to look different because different teams would be breeding for different traits

If drives just have the same dragon for life then transferring teams must be more complicated

If its in a more medieval world though, then i think it would probably be a lifelong bond with one dragon

The teams could be different kingdoms, maybe the team principles are king who hire the drivers to protect their kingdoms for some reason? The teams could also just be dragonriding guilds though. Maybe the races are meant to show off a guilds/kingdoms power and skill?

In both worlds would dragons be a common thing or something rare and specialized for racing. i can totally imagine a farmer in the medieval version using a dragon to plow a field or miniature dragons being a popular pet in the modern world.

Modern world:

Pls dragons being quite common and used foe various things, like transport and work but also now a lot for sports as cars and machines are more common. A dragon can have great racing abilities but they also need the perfect rider to bring it out in them? Like they might be the best bred dragons literally made for speed, but with the wrong rider they will never win!

I think riders would always have the same dragons, but it's complicated because some drivers own their own dragon and eill therefore move teams as a pair, and others will have to say goodbye to their dragon when they move teams which is heartbreaking... it's probably very rare that a new driver is found for a team owned dragon! I can imagine the dragons acting up so much when their comfort person is taken from them🥹

Teams having their own dragon nurseries and wannabe drivers get to meet young dragons to see if there is a match! And if they have the money, they can buy the ownership of the dragon but tend to stay with the team the dragon is from because they understand the needs best.

For sure mini dragons are popular pets and maybe people like Charles or max havea mini dragon too and it makes their racing dragon a little jealous sometimes ekskk

Medieval:

Pls the kingdoms starting the races ro see which kingdom is best! It's better to race instead of raging war so it's good, and it's fun too! Dragons are wild, not bred, and racers are those lucky enough to meet and find a dragon and start a friendship instead of being eaten lol! Some bonds are more forced but the most successful bonds are when the dragon decides "yeah this one is mine this human is cute'

i think your idea that viserys named naerys after rhaenyra it's so sweet, i'm crying it rare seeing such lovely post in this fandom especially about viserys since for some reason people say he hated his mother

People only think Voserys hated his mother bc they have poor critical thinking skills. He and Aegon mourned her their whole lives. She loved them and raised them to be phenomenal princes and kings. I don't particularly like Viserys II but I can't deny he's effective.

As for other similar headcanons... hmmm....

I think Rhaenyra and Daemon would've had more kids if they'd been able- and girls would've been names Visenya, Alyssa, and Aemma.

I think Rhaenyra specifically.picked Mornong's egg for Rhaena because the lovely pink and strong black made her think of her stepdaughter.

I think that while Baela and Rhaena obviously love and miss their mother and carry many of her traits, I think that while Baela is Daemon's mini-me, Rhaena is Rhaenyras. I've had that hc since the book- and in the show, Rhaena often matches her dresses to Rhaenyras, and from what we've seen of her in s2 she's started styling her hair similarly to how Rhaenyra did at her age, and appears to be wearing Rhaenyras gold necklace from her wedding (or a very similar one!)

Rhaena had six daughters with her second husband and I firmly believe that while Baela named her daughter Laena, Rhaena defied political niceties, and named one daughter Rhaenyra. And perhaps another daughter was named a feminine version of Lucerys- to honor her first betrothed, who she clearly had a good relationship with.

I think that Luke and Rhaena would have made a fantastic Lord and Lady of the Tides- and Baela and Jace would've been among the best rulers Westeros ever had.

I also will die on the hill that if she hadn't been so deeply sabotaged and destroyed by grief and betrayal, Rhaenyra would've been a solidly good queen.

I think that Cregan, Jace, and Baela would've been the OT3 to end all OT3s and I honestly think Cregan mightve considered staying south to be Jace's hand, if things had played out differently.

I definitely think Aegon3 wanted to name his sons for the brothers he lost, but was pressured out of it due to the political unrest. And honestly, sadly, I do think Viserys would've been the one to dissuade him, and that likely would've deeply damaged their relationship

I headcanon that every time Rhaenyra had a child, Syrax laid a clutch- their bond is shown to be so deep to the point that they share paim, and Rhaenyra shows a deep love and respect for Syrax. Honestly all of team Black show their dragons a lot of love and respect- unlike team Green who sort of just use their dragons as tools of war and naught else.

I think if things hadn't ended how they did, Aegon 3 would've claimed Grey Ghost. Their personalities suit one another so well! Rhaenyra would've been so proud, and Daemon would've helped him every step of the way. (Side note, @spreta-invidia wrote the Best aegon3 fic quite literally ever, and he and Grey Ghost... 👀 anyways you should read the fic)

Idk I have a lot of Targaryen headcanons, particularly for Rhaenyra and her family bc they're my favorites of House Targaryen.
