Sometimes, I think of Viviane and how great of a hand she got dealt in life (especially by Prythian standards).

She has a great personality, is a perfect ten on the looks scale, and has brains and extremely strong leadership capability. An ability which, by the way, she has continuously been able to demonstrate throughout her life.

She already knew her (now) mate and husband and grew up with him. They were already close (if not best) friends. She didn't know he was in love with her, just that he did love her in some capacity.

She didn't have to bear the weight of a mating bond she never asked for. Kallias told her he loved her and entrusted her to rule in his stead. He saw her capability, her sharp mind, and respected her as a leader beyond a female he loved. He trusted her to protect their people and keep them together. She did.

Viviane chose Kallias entirely on her own. She kissed him and decided to become his wife. There was no deciding factor that went into it other than her love for him and his for her, and it was a marriage they both chose. A bond (lowercase b) they chose.

Then, the bond snaps when she's getting her world rocked by Hot Frosty her best friend on their wedding night and she's already having a great time and is completely in love with him? Even the universe decided it couldn't top what they had.

There's nothing fake about them: no gimmicks, and no image they're trying to portray. She teases him/pokes him/elbows right in front of the other High Lords and all he can do is gaze at her lovingly and smirk while her rundown of their relationship leaves Thesan choking on his wine.

She is very obviously included in all the key conversations about the ruling of their court. She isn't "only" (and I hate that term because it suggests a negative meaning when this isn't) Kallias's wife and mate: she is his equal in terms of that leadership. She is for all intents and purposes Winter's queen. Those little looks they exchanged with each other and the perfect synchronization at which they react to and address conflicts when things get tense? This isn't the first time. They've had these conversations together.

Now they're expecting the most beautiful little snow angel in all of Prythian, and they're going to be incredible parents. That's going to be one lucky little snowball.

I've been a fan of Viviane from the minute she was introduced. All this to say, I'm extremely happy for her.
