mike shook his head, re-reading the sequence of numbers written in small, practised handwriting. a small smile pulled at his lips. despite having already memorized the number and how to spell your name, he kept glancing down at the slip of paper and running his thumb over the now-smudging pen ink.

with abby already asleep, mike debates if he should call or not. he doesn’t want to wake abby, but he really wants nothing more than to keep talking with the woman that (quite literally) fell into his arms.

mike exhaled. as long as he was quiet he supposed he could stay up and talk to her- y/n. y/n l/n.

slowly mike dialed her phone number; already imagining her voice from the other line.

the line didn’t ring twice before she picked up. “hello?” she answered, her voice having that smile that mike swears made the sun shine a little brighter.

“uh, hi. this- this is y/n, right? it’s-“ mike started, tripping over his words.

“mike! mike schmidt from the mall, yeah?”

another smile: wider this time though. mike beamed. “yeah, that’s me. mike from the mall.”

——👾; 6 hours earlier

the world was spinning, blurring. y/n cursed herself once again for her forgetfulness- she had a tendency to completely ignore her health until something like this happens.

y/n’s blood sugar was extremely low. she knew she needed something fast acting: juice, fruit snacks, soda… a slushie even. but with the way y/n could function, ordering something for herself would be out of the question.

maybe walking blindly into someone will help, was y/n’s rationale. so she carefully walked the best she could to someone, occasionally slamming into a bench or counter.

y/n’s head was spinning. she cursed her pancreas for failing to do it’s one and only job.

"oh dear lord," y/n mumbled. her legs struggled to keep her upright, let alone get her anywhere. her vision was fuzzy and the edges faded in and out, black dots swimming in her line of sight. y/n cursed herself- yet again- for being as careless as she was.

getting a few weird stares and several people backing away from y/n, someone finally approached her.

"are you drunk?" a blob- man?- asked . "ma'am, consumption of alcohol and being under the influence is not permitted inside of the mall, so i'm going to have to-"

"nononono, ‘m notdrunk…" y/n's words were sloppy and rushed. Hoping and praying he believed her, she wobbled a little bit on her feet.

Her body was trembling from the adrenaline and her legs desperately threatened to come out from underneath her. "im… diabetic," she paused, swallowing. "imhaving a hypoglycemia episode." sweat trickled down the back of her neck, making her wince at the feeling. "i need… i need food, like, now, beforeipassout, andgo intoa coma" y/n took a deep breath.

the man looked around. y/n was getting weaker by the second. her legs still felt like toothpicks and jello, with nothing left to support her. "i need… i need to sit…” y/n tried to stay on her feet, but her legs went slack and she was suddenly falling.

An arm wrapped around her waist. “No,” he mumbled quietly. “You gotta show me what to get you.” The man asked. He hoisted y/n in the air, shifting her weight and carrying her bridal style to the food court. “Alright… we got… pretzels, pizza, slushies, popcor-“

"slushies." y/n answered, a barely audible sound.

he nodded.

the man cut in front of the small line at a vendor and carefully set her in a chair. "i need two red slushies, the biggest size you have. please." he pulls out his wallet and slams a few crumpled dollar bills on the counter.

the worker stared at him for a second. "mike, you work here but you have to go to the back of the li-" the woman started.

"I’m sorry, Wendy but it's a medical emergency, she's diabetic and is really close to going into a coma, so im gonna need you to hurry,” mike rushed out, sneaking a glance back at y/n. She was pale and very clammy. It was obvious that she’d pass out soon.

Wendy followed Mike’s gaze and swallowed nervously. Then she turned on her heels and got to work.

y/n had her head in her arms, resting it on the table. she felt like shit. I wish i knew his name, she thought to herself. heat flashed through her body and her hands shook furiously, she felt like she had just run a marathon but hadn't moved an inch. she tried to distract herself from how horrible she felt, what had she done to get this low? Ah that's right. she had overcorrected for a stubborn high, then guess the amount of insulin for a giant drink, which she then proceeded to spill. Shit! she hadn't eaten anything to make up for the insulin she had given.

the man came back with two huge red slushies and says: “please drink this." he sets one down in front of her, and y/n pulls it towards herself and takes a sip.

mike- focused on making sure that the woman was alright- finally registered the whispers and snickers of passerby.

“Come with me," he murmurs. Mike gently grasps her again, handing her the second slushie. "Hold on to those for me, please.” Mike carries her into a small, office-looking room. He carefully sets y/n down against a wall, and he sinks down the wall beside her. Mike holds his hand out for his slushie and waits until y/n hands it to him.

"Uh… wait, i think that's the one i drank out of." She took the drink out of his hands and placed the other one in it. "No, actually this is the one i didn't drink out of. Here switch me again."

"Please just drink the slushie," he sighed.

After about 10 minuets y/n’s blood sugar started to come back up. it was hovering in the 40-50 range which was better than what it had been but still way too low for y/n to drive home. “Hey can you check something for me?" she asked, her vision still a little swirly and her hands still shaking.

Now y/n was able to read Mike’s nametag- which thankfully had a large font. “Hi Mike,” she added with a smile.

Mike smiled back at her, eyes softening slightly at her smile- it lit up her face. “What do you need me to do? Oh and, uh, what’s your name?”

"My name is y/n, but I need you to check something on my insulin pump, my vision is still a little...weird." She motioned towards her eyes. Unable to see small things with her current impaired eyesight, it would be quite a struggle to do it herself. She pulled out the small device. Turning it on she opened it up and turned the screen towards him. "That really little number down at the bottom."

Mike takes the device and squints at the tiny numbers. "It says... 10.7 u. Is that good or bad?" he blinks.

"Oh my god,” y/n groaned. “The one time i decide to pre-bolus, this happens. 10.7 units of unnecessary insulin. Sorry for interrupting and everything. I really should've been better about it." y/n shook her head.

"Hey as long as you're okay then it's totally fine. We can spend as long as you need to in here. I don't really have anywhere i need to be and this is a lot more eventful than what I normally do anyway… I’m not really complaining." Mike glances at his watch.

After a while of waiting and periodic finger pokes y/n's blood sugar returned to a safe enough number to drive home. They had sat talking to each other the entire time. y/n learned about Abby and about Garrett, and how his mom died and dad left.

"Well, I should get going. Thank you so much for everything, Mike." y/n smiles and smiles at him. A smile that just… lights up her face. Her eyes crinkle and a dimple appeared on her right cheek. Mike swears he almost swoons- he’s never had a (pretty) girl look at him like that.

Before she gets up, y/n tilts Mike’s head towards her and she places a delicate kiss on his cheek.

Mike swallows. He knows he’s probably overthinking it, just a simple thank you he reasons. So why did y/n’s eyes dart to his lips before getting up and heading for the door?

y/n has her stuff packed up before Mike realizes it. He watches her pick up her empty cup and toss it into the trash can. But before she leaves-

"Can I- uh," Mike stops y/n, voice breathless. "Is there any chance i can get your phone number? Just, uhm, in case you....y-know... need something again."

So Mike watches y/n write down her name and telephone number on a piece of paper. He watches the way a flush appeared on the apples of her cheeks. Mike watches her offer the paper to him and delights in the way she smiles again. But this time her smile is more bashful, more shy. Mike thinks it’s adorable.

“Thank you,” Mike murmurs, taking the paper. Her fingers brushed his and the flush darkens.

“I should be thanking you, Mike,” y/n says.

Mike can’t think of what to say next. He just stands there, falling further and further into y/n’s eyes. Slowly, cautiously, Mike reaches a hand out to y/n’s waist. She closes the space between them, letting herself be pulled into Mike’s arms.

Her hands wrap around Mike’s back in an embrace, but still looking at him, waiting for his next move.

“Mike?”

“Hm?”

“Are you gonna kiss me, or what?”

Mike leans down and presses his lips to y/n’s, tasting the flavor of the slushie on her lips. He feels y/n sigh against his lips, like she wanted him as much as he wanted her.

All too soon, y/n pulled away. “You should get back to work,” she whispers.

“Yeah,” Mike whisperes back.

“Call me, Mike.”

“I will,” he murmurs, lips still tender from their kiss.

——👾; present time

“I’m free this weekend- if, y’know, you want to go get dinner or something. Abby can come too if you want,” y/n says over the phone.

In all honesty, Mike’s surprised y/n remembers Abby, even though they only talked about six hours ago. “Sure! Where do you-“ Mike swallows, “where do you want to go?” He doesn’t want to go anywhere too expensive even though he wish he could. He just couldn’t afford that.

“I’m okay with anything, homestly. Abby can pick if she comes.”

Mike smiles. “I’ll talk to her about it.” He knows Abby would say yes.

The phone crackles as the two fall into momentary silence.

“I’m glad you called,” y/n admits.

”I’m glad I called, too,” Mike replies.

He doesn’t remember the last time he’d felt this happy. In fact, Mike doesn’t think he’s ever been this happy. Ever. So as he sat there, talking to y/n, Mike told himself that she was good. Good for him, for Abby. This had to be the start of something better; a change in his life, perhaps.

Even later, when Mike was getting ready to sleep, he fell asleep thinking of her.

Rating Dreamcatcher's "JUSTICE" Stage Outfits (Siyeon on hiatus)

As the heading says, Siyeon has been on hiatus since DC dropped their 10th mini-album "VirtuouS" on July 10, & the girls' goodbye stage was July 20 with Music Core. Two major reasons for their short promo period are SIyeon's hiatus (meaning the other girls become more fatigued) & the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics (meaning most major shows will be canceled). Since the girls couldn't earn any wins during this short period, I decided to offer my input on their stage outfits! Thankfully, SIyeon was able to record these two performances (1theK + it's Live) with the others before going on hiatus. Her vocals (HIGH NOTES) are no joke!

M! Countdown 2024-07-11 (generalized black & white theme)

JiU: Our lovely leader looks great! I would've straightened the bottom edge of her halter top (instead of the diamond-shaped cut right now). The black slit skirt accessory should be optional, IMO.

SuA: I think she's worn this outfit several times for other comeback stages as well as in other event appearances. It's definitely comfortable since SuA's the main dancer.

Handong: Everything looked great except for her sweater (especially since she had the hood on). It looked a bit weird when combined with her inner crop top & black shorts.

Yoohyeon: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her little black dress with long black gloves & black boots. Her half ponytail is on point too!

Dami: She looks like a gangster that you should never mess with (referring to the whole virtuous/justice theme).

Gahyun: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her long black hair with straight bangs & monochrome school-girl-esque dress outfit. Gahyun looks like she came straight out of some anime/manga!

JiU: This rancher-themed outfit looks cute on her! (that's all I can think of)

SuA: OMG her hair is in a bun! I like the coloring of her one-piece dress & how the layered skirt portion is very flowy (very much suits her as the main dancer).

Handong: Her half-tied hair, choker collar, & tank top are all so gorgeous! But what are those pants...?

Yoohyeon: Sorry, but I'm not a fan of the untied permed hair & the layers of fur on the shin portion of her pants...

Dami: Some give the stylist a rise/bonus for assigning that sparkly black vest to Dami! But why do the pants make me think of pajamas/sleepwear???

Gahyun: This is her first "JUSTICE" stage with blonde hair! Gahyun's outfit makes her look cute too! Although I wish it was a one-piece dress instead of a separate top + skirt…

JiU: This is the famous stage where JiU wears a translucent white shirt with a black tie & only the top 2-3 buttons attached (black crop top underneath), which means you can see her torso when she dances vigorously. All that plus her black shorts, black shoes, & stockings are just… I'M DEAD.

SuA: Everything is white except part of the crop top… or is that a sports bra? Anyway, today is SuA's turn to be the virtuous gangster of justice!

Handong: This is the first ENTIRE stage outfit that I like! (again, I would've preferred a one-piece over a separate tank top + skirt) Handong's permed periwinkle hair looks great too!

Yoohyeon: EXCUSE ME?! Wavy ginger hair with bangs?! Black-rimmed glasses?! Basically all black?! I'M DEAD AGAIN.

Dami: I'm not saying that her outfit is totally bad, but I can't help but laugh when I see shorter pants (they end at her shins) with her multi-layered cropped shirt.

Gahyun: Good lord… White long-sleeve blouse + short black pencil skirt + STRAIGHT BLACK HAIR WITH BANGS = MY 3RD DEATH OF THE DAY

JiU: Everything is white today except for brown boots & black rosary. That long trench coat looks AMAZING. Thankfully it didn't impede her dancing!

SuA: Looking great in general! Things that stood out were the black fringe on her top, double black belts, & also the slit skirt design.

Handong: This is my favorite outfit by far! I love how the long brown skirt separates at her left thigh to show the black layer underneath. AND DO YOU SEE THAT BUTTERFLY BELT?!

Yoohyeon: I like the multi-layer design of her long-sleeved crop top (including the straps across her torso), but the pants looked kind of messy.

Dami: Today is her turn to be a rancher! That long-sleeve shirt with all the black designs makes Dami look like she has several tattoos (pretty cool).

Gahyun: Her outfit today is rather simple compared to others (just a tank top & a skirt), but I love the red/pink highlights underneath her blonde hair.

SuA: I love her flowy gray skirt! My only suggestion is to make her gray sleeveless top a bit longer, because the edge of her off-white blouse looks a bit messy.

Handong: I love her high ponytail & bespectacled look! Her gray outfit looks nice too!

Yoohyeon: Something about her ginger hair today makes her aura completely new & different from the previous stages… Anyway, everything looks great… Maybe make the slit on her tank top a bit shorter?

Dami: I like this outfit way better than the one from Music Core 2024-07-13. Give the stylist a raise/bonus for the upgrade!

Gahyun: LONG BLACK HAIR WITH BANGS AGAIN! My only suggestion is to make her black crop top longer so that the white top can be longer (right now, the white part looks really weird).

SuA: I'm just a bit confused about the purpose of the black fabric across her chest (shirt is white & pants are black). I think SuA would've looked great anyway without it.

Handong: School uniform jacket?! Sports bra underneath?! Flowy black skirt?! Handong is your all-rounder head prefect & girls' sports captain here! (I have no idea what I just said)

Yoohyeon: Never knew I needed to see Yoohyeon with ginger braids & GLASSES again. She looks like a cheerleader!

Dami: Is this her first stage wearing any kind of skirt?! AMAZING! Now it's Dami's turn to look like a schoolgirl… also one that could be the gang leader (forgive me for saying this).

Gahyun: Her hair looks more silver or periwinkle now (sorry bad lighting). Either way, her golf outfit is cute too!

Handong: That oversized black leather jacket actually looks good on her! Today's super straight periwinkle hair makes Handong look even more like an ice princess.

Yoohyeon: OMG the stylist who clipped that black bow into her hair deserves bubble tea for life! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this little gray dress look… But the stockings look really odd. I would've assigned plain ones that have no designs.

Dami: Back to pants again but THAT PONYTAIL changes everything! Look at Dami showing off her oversized gray blazer like she doesn't care!

Gahyun: Speaking of her golf outfit from the day before… Today's outfit looks like another very casual golf outfit & makes her look cute again! That necklace & her wavy hair (too many colors to identify) look great too!

Yoohyeon: Braided buns?! The stylists went all out for the goodbye stage! The top looks great, but the skirt looked a bit weird with only a small patch of blue against black (like it's missing something).

Dami: That single-sleeved jacket with long fabric trails is also just out of this world. Speechless again.

Gahyun: I get what the stylists were trying to achieve with the see-through lace tank top, but I would've added sparkles &/or other shiny objects to make the front design stand out more. Black on black is difficult to see from certain angles.

shoutout to all the ppl on main who gave me song suggestions for this; not knowing what it was for

and also magik for talking me into crushcrushcrush. i got so fuckored by it even tho this is supposed to be the angst-free playlist lol. i THOUGHT about putting misery business in here but while very funny as a concept i couldn't quite abide by the lyrics. i just couldn't... (too romance-focused, not even fitting at all, though very fun to imagine him and kairi singing together in [gesturing] the future or whatever. tho i wonder if kairi shared music with him while they were regularly meeting on the beach. honestly no way she didn't? fun little bonus scene...)

i put the demi lovato song in here because 1) it worked 2) shad would unironically listen to it. and think it rules. one of my longest-standing canons about his music taste that is he is a sucker for female vocals. i had to! i simply did!!!

i bitched about the og mix being 8 songs of which 3 were instrumental . and then kept 2 of the 3 instrumentals. look! i couldn't not keep the doopliss theme remix! okay!! first of all its JUST SO!!! ITS SO!!! second of all i needed something to help me transition into confident, which i refused to cut

other than the instrumentals i only preserved 2 other songs from the og mix - tho half a mix is pretty solid, i guess. still felt like i was scrambling for a hot minute tho.

the four i cut were:

1) the third instrumental (which was fine but that's SO MANY instrumentals, and also it was ONLY fine)

2) the only possible interpretation of it was his crush on kairi being Weird - even if i tried to reframe it as about sora it'd still kinda be weird. ITS HONESTLY EXTREMELY PINING. WHICH ISN'T INCORRECT BUT IS LIKE. THE WRONG TIMELINE FOR THIS MIX. BAD NEWS THE LYRICS DID FUCKOR ME THO

3) angst, in the mix i didn't want to have angst ((or at least to not swing away from being mostly uptempo and SOUND confident, even if there's layers of angst underneath))

4) ANGST THAT WASN'T EVEN LIKE ACCURATE TO HIM AS A CHARACTER. I HAD TWO OTHER BETTER-FITTING MCR SONGS I COULD HAVE - AND DID ELSEWHERE!! - USE FOR HIM SO. WHY DID I GO WITH THAT ONE? HELLO???? TO WHAT END???

spanish doll

spanish doll is one of the oldest songs for Cruz, and it's kind of evolved with them. it started out as a song for Ambition: Nemesis; their murdered innocent; their younger brother, Anacleto. ive diverged from the canon Nemesis plot for them somewhat but it's just added another layer onto this that has some delicious implications. and I love you still no matter how our story will unfold

beautiful & bad

there's no particular order here; most songs are put next to each other because they sound good and not for thematic reasons. this one i put specifically because it was a jarring difference in both sound and theme; the disconnect between the sweet nostalgia of spanish doll and the hypocritical thing Cruz has become.

Don’t Get Me Wrong: Review of Herbert

 Herbert: This will be an honest opinion of the new album by Ab-Soul. 

 Herbert was very difficult to get through on the first listen. I will not sugar coat anything at all. It was not what I expected. To be honest, I did not know what to expect. Trying to go into an album without expectations is hard especially as someone like myself who roots for those in this arena. Having been gone for well over 5 years, the ideas stampeding through my mind were all over the place. 

 As in any profession, time off is needed to let the creative juices flow. It can be a good resolution or a situation that just adds more pressure. On my first listen, I was probably like most people. Unsure of how I wanted to hear the beats coming through my headphones. So like with every album that I delve into, I make sure the room is dimly lit, all electronics are off, and I set the mood with the album playing. 

 Message In a Bottle and No Report Card definitely set the tone for the rest of the album, yet I had my suspicions. I heard glimpses of real rap on the tracks, the delivery was point and the idea of crushing every beat seemed intact. I came in with full judgement just off the fact Hollandaise was included. So again on this first listen, I was judging before listening. You see, knowing that this song was released as a single awhile back tends to throw my mind off. I try my best to not listen to anything before an album drops unless it is a specific mixtape or it is a single that will not be included. I don’t want to be blinded by the idea of what this single sounds like in contrast to what the whole other album sounds like.  Does it really flow with the rest of the album, is it cohesive, is it disjointed, does it fit the picture or narrative that is important or even prevalent at the moment? I don’t have the answers to theses questions! (I had to Justin Hunte, TCM) To say the least, the first listen through was completely biased. So I had to run it back, a few times to be honest. It was not until my mind was completely clear that I was able to feel the depth of his words, feel the gravity in which he spoke. Or realize how beautiful Fallacy was after the fourth listen. Yes, Four listens, I am ashamed of myself. 

 I found myself upset at the beat selection and the idea that the album was full of punchlines. Don’t get me wrong, as a Social Worker I try to be reflective and understanding, as a Hip Hop Enthusiast and Bronx Native, I want to cut ass on the best of them and the most opportune time to do that is with a witty punchline. You either take a headshot or cut them down at the knees. Ab-Soul has a propensity for punchlines. Yet I was very sure that the album had too many of them and not too many well crafted songs. The beats just seemed to not match his tone my first run through. He seemed to be a science professor with a blackboard just filled with chalk that did not make sense to anyone else but himself. I was conflicted with what I wanted and what I needed. Then again after the second run through I could feel the tone and therapeutic nature permeate through the tracklist. This album was actually what I needed from Ab-Soul. 

 Once I noticed this observation, I had a few real standouts: Moonshooter, It Be Like That, Go Off, Goodman and Gotta Rap. I don’t what it is but something about a DJ Premier beat just gets my soul (no pun intended) every time. As I was getting my fill on the second through fourth listens, there was pain in his lyrics. Something that could resonate with his audience. It seemed almost therapeutic. Soul seemed to be finding his footing. Something that he had lost during the last 6 years. We mention that artist may fall off or that athletes lose a step. Well, Ab-Soul did not. It was hidden underneath pain and anguish. 

 Due to the trauma in which he faced, the death of Mac Miller and his own suicide attempt, Ab-Soul seems to be finally making music for himself and no one else. Soul isolated himself from the sounds and music around him in order to craft this album and it shows. Not trying to preach to others about conspiracy theories or teach about how the government is out to get everyone. No, this Soul is reflecting on the time away from the microphone. He is coming to grips with his losses. He is understanding his place as a person, first and foremost. The seminal outcast, he has found his place in Hip Hop. 

 Herbert really gives its listeners a glimpse into the artist. Not just his interest and hobbies but the proverbial glimpse through his lens (again, no pun intended). What you probably would have liked more was if he was a bit more descriptive and vulnerable because he does touch on the suicide attempt but it seems fleeting. He does mention the loss of loved ones but almost in a moment and you will miss it kind of fashion. In his track Do Better, Soul laments “I gotta do better, I gotta pick up the pieces and master the puzzle upon us.” Such a heavy burden placed on the shoulders of the self proclaimed God of Rap. Yet here is proving he’s got to rap. The necessity to get thoughts out in order to not be consumed by the despair that has brought his world to a halt. Weaving lyrics in order to piece together an interconnected web of thoughts. Soul shows his worth on this album. 

 Factions of industry heads and casual fans tend to stay on the fence every year critiquing this idea that the year before was a better year than the last. I am not immune from having these debates, especially with friends. It keeps people on their toes, to see if they actually heard something new and refreshing. Soul gives his listeners the chance to let their frustrations out as well. Fomf is the perfect anthem in a post pandemic world. Ab-Soul does not need your approval, this is a lyrical exercise for the many demons he is facing. Hip Hop has given him the space to rap his ass off and he shows time and time again that is what he is gonna do. 

 This album, Herbert, is a masterclass in homophones, which just so happens to be Ab-Soul’s specialty. He dabbles in and out of similes like a waiter dabbles in and out of a conversation. Just short enough to take the order and long enough to receive the check. Here, Ab-Soul receives the Mic Check.   7.8/10

You guys are in charge of who these pieces will be involving, but I’ve already got an idea for what is going to be in each of them, it’ll just be molded to whomever is chosen for that day.

For anyone that isn’t already aware I’m a huge Machine Gun Kelly fan and what better way to bring him into my work than by using his latest album as a milestone event. Each of the songs off of his new album has found a way to inspire a piece for me. This is an entire event of song pieces.

You’ll find the tracklist underneath the cut and each piece will quite simply be named after the song. Some of these pieces will be NSFW and some of them will contain some content that not everyone will enjoy so if you’re familiar with the songs please make sure you choose wisely. As always my writing will be x fem!Reader because that’s what I’m most comfortable doing, but any of them that I am able to I will be trying my hardest to keep GN. And I’ll obviously be tagging everything accordingly, but just some disclaimers before they come out.

Character repeats are fine, but I encourage everyone to try to pick different characters, just to spice it up a little bit since I do tend to write for the same people over and over.

“Hey babe?” Sapnap called from upstairs in the attic. “Yeah?” You left your shared bedroom going over to the ladder that was on the floor that connected the attic to the second floor. “When’d you get this record player?”

You watched as your boyfriend climbed down the ladder an abandoned record player in hand.

“Oh my god! I’ve been looking everywhere for that thing!” You exclaim taking it from him happily analyzing the item in hand as he climbs down to inspect it with you. “It was my grandmothers from the 50’s she gave it to me a little before her passing and I guess when I moved in with you three I just abandoned it in a box.”

Sap nodded, running his fingers over the top the dust evident from beside where he ran his finger. “Very old.”

A laugh left your lips about to say something before you were cut off by Karls’ scream of defeat and Quackitys’ laugh of victory. “It’s your turn to deal with that.”

Sapnap groaned watching longingly as you made your way to the bedroom to plug in the old thing.

A few moments passed as you sat on the floor, the machine in hand as you got in all of the creases and cracks making sure to clean up all the dust. “Hey baby- is that a record player!” Karl immediately fell to the floor beside you watching as you cleaned the tone arc of the dust on it.

“Who would want a record player?” Quack teased walking into the room Sap behind him as he plopped himself down on the bed.

Karl threw a nearby pillow at his head signaling the boy with the beanie to shut up. “It was a gift from my grandmother you asshole.” You rolled your eyes looking over your shoulder at him as you finished cleaning the record player up and placed it on the table underneath the tv.

“Well know what do we do we don’t have anything to play on it,” Sapnap stated as he pulled one of his hoodies over his head as it had become quite chilly in the house. “Oh we have some of those vinyls in our closet I picked up from the market once.” Karl said excitedly as he went to the closet and pulled down a brown box.

“We’re just pulling random shit from the closet? How long has that been in there?” Quackity questioned as Karl placed the box on the bed opening it to reveal at least thirty plus vinyls.

“So you just bought vinyls to buy vinyls?” you raised and eyebrow at your brown haired boyfriend as he looked through all the disc in the box.

“it was like fifteen dollars for the whole box it was a deal no one could refuse.”

“so what i’m hearing is you waisted fifteen dollars on these despite not having a record player?”

“see this is why i kept it hidden because i always get attacked for anything and everything.” you giggled placing a kiss on his cheek before a cover case in the back catches your eye.

Elvis Presley The 50 greatest hits. In big white letters on top of a bright red. “oooh.” you pluck it out from the others and turn it over to read the tracklist on the back.

“can never go wrong with a little Elvis.” you smiled at the three boys in the room as you turned around placing the record player and moving the needle on to the disc allowing it to start. The beat to heartbreak hotel filling your shared spacious bedroom.

“come on losers you have no choice but to dance with me.”
