Hong Kong is known for their iconic taxis in green, red and blue. The iconic model, Toyota Crown Comfort is the fixed car for taxis and is heavily associated with Hong Kong taxis since 1974.

99% of Hong Kong's taxi drivers use this model, however in 2017, Toyota discontinued the production of the Toyota Comfort. In replacement, the Toyota JPN comfort Hybrid and Ford Transit Connects taxis have started to be used more commonly.

This may seem like a minor issue to many, but to Hong Kong people the iconic Toyota Crown Comfort is what will always be associated with Taxis. It feels like just another thing that is reducing Hong Kong's culture.

went with my parents to toyota north hollywood with the intention of test driving a corolla cross hybrid - they are looking to replace their 2003 highlander. my parents had purchased the highlander in 2003, a lexus sedan in 2013, so it *made sense* to purchase another car in 2023 lol. instead, we walked out purchasing a gas rav4. it was a 5 hour process, and i left early because i had I&I's wedding to attend. it's a cute panda color car but i haven't had the chance to drive it yet. there was a lot of negotiating on the price; they would not waiver on the markups and we ended up purchasing the car for about 11% over sticker price. i didn't get a chance to do much research before the car buying process and it seemed my dad just wanted to get the process over with because i was in town. so, we got an OK price - not the best but wasn't overly ripped off either

weekly entry 20/10

I want to start documenting my life as a junior doctor weekly so that one day I can look back and say I made it. This week has been hectic and tough, but there's a blessing along the way. I have been told that I am involved in a datix for a mistake back in August. Although my consultants reassured me that I don't have to worry as this wont affect my progression it is something that I reflect deeply and not wanting to do the same mistake again. I cried hard when I first got the email but then I come to my sense as I can only be a better doctor moving forward.

This week is my on call week but I'm blessed that I got to buddied up with a clinical fellow, M and she is so lovely. I am always always so anxious with on call as I am nowhere near the confidence level I'd like to be at but she always tell me that I'm doing the right thing I just need to improve with implying my plans. I think that's the push I needed.

I've also been car hunting and finally put an offer for a Toyota hybrid car, hopefully it goes through. Otherwise I have to opt for a dodgy car from a garage lol.

After getting datix-ed the one thing that I'm still trying to wrap my head around is that I am going to make so much more mistakes from this point onwards until I become a specialist as we are all humans and not robots. But I struggle with dealing with it and it affects my confidence so I just have to move on if I ever make one again.

I am of course so grateful that I have H supporting me and reassuring me always, honestly don't know what i would do or function without him. My mom, is also my biggest source of support eventhough she's on the ohter side of the world.

I came across so many unfortunate events ie patients that make me so grateful (always am but took a step back to thank God for the good health). When I am worrying about something and then hearing and listening to all these stories my problems are really minuscule compared to what some people go through.

Just sitting on the dining table now looking over etihad stadium in this very wet weather. Few years ago this is the stage of life that I've been praying for, I've had so many setbacks but I never gave up and I don't think I should give up now. I am living my dream, I just have to stay focus, move on and take one step at a time. God knows how hard I've worked for this and I know He is watching and wanting me to give and try my best in order for me to get where I want to be in life.

Trying to stay positive when everything is going against me. I guess I just have to trust the process.
