posting this here since idk if popdesignvent is active and idk where else to talk about this and it's been eating at me since I saw it, but Lymerrikk used to be an aro/ace exclusionist? I never knew and seeing there apology tucked away on deviantart (which is purely by chance, I dont check dA often) and unknowingly supporting that behavior for years makes me sick as a aro/ace. they say they've changed but I dont think I want to continue to support them going forward but I still like their art 😥

never liked the whole “sonas have to be exactly like you” idea

I don’t think its good idea to have a black sona when you’re white but saying your sona needs to be exactly like you is just wrong? people present themselves in different ways and it’s not really up to anyone but them to dictate what should or shouldn’t be a character to represent them .

I call a lot of my characters sonas even if they have varying personalties. Hell, some of them aren’t like me at all personality or design wise but who gives a shit really. They’re my sonas if I say so and anyone who tries to argue “b-but the definition of sona is—“ can fuck right off

it always pmo when people say how "we need more weird queers" (which is absolutely true!) but then, in the same post, say "but people piss themselves over lesboys!" as if a "lesboy" isn't just a straight man who's pissy about not being able to use a label that isn't meant for him (by definition, a lesbian is a non-man who loves non-men. in no way does this mean a transgender man, cis man, demiboy, or any form or male-identifying person can be a lesbian). he/him lesbians? for sure! pronouns aren't the same as gender! but if you deadass identify as a man in any way (not including genderfluid or nonbinary) then you're not a lesbian.

I don't have a horse in this race but whenever I see vivid post ANYWHERE one of those PSA-ers always comments about it in the same thread. I don't think supposed character theft -- most of those "stolen" horses just look like real horse breeds to me and you can't claim breeds as your own, though one is pretty sus -- is worth the years of stalking that's been going on. It's creepy and weird and I'm starting to feel pretty bad for vivid, all things considered.

this actually goes the other way too. as someone who does commissions and adopts, it makes me so uncomfy when my clients try to act like they're my friend just because they've commed me a lot or bought more than one adopt from me before;; it feels parasocial, like, i don't know you so why are you dming me every other day when the only time we talked before was me doing work for you...

both clients and creators should have professional relationships, none of that weird trying to be friends crap as some way to get something from the other (whether it be money or free stuff). -🃏

Character Theft / Disrespecting Blacklist

Person: https://x.com/APastafarian Reason: Within the last 3 days, someone let me know via Discord that a rando on Twitter was stealing my personal OCs and claiming them as theirs, and also using one of my free to use linearts to fill in someone else's characters - which owner of said characters is also on my blacklist for 7 years of art theft and harassment. On top of them claiming my OCs as theirs, they decided to either draw or trace them in said blacklisted person's art style, which is a hard NO, and their icon/banner is a combination of my sona and the BL'd dude's sona. Their display name at the time was a trap-phrase of a racial slur. In quick rundown, people blacklisted by me are in no way allowed to receive any form of art from me, nor can they receive fill-ins/designs of my things from others. The blacklisted person and the reason why can be found #1 on this list

After I made this post on DeviantArt, which miraculously they knew to look, they used the lineart again to draw another one of the blacklisted person's characters in spite of me no longer allowing my bases on Twitter. My lineart can be found here.

After I sent a successful DMCA on one of their posts, they privated their Twitter account, changed their display name to my name that was in the DMCA email (but left out the T), and then said they moved to Tumblr as a means of hiding from me.

I unfortunately have to avoid directly posting any unblurred screenshots that aren't mine, because I know this person will try and attack me with false copyright claims. A video of their whole page can be found HERE [LINK]. There's no use trying to contact them, because this is entirely intentional, and my server suspects they are either an alt of the blacklisted person, or associated in some way.

I hate seeing "USER IS A PEDOPHILE!" PSAs in the forums and then having to make a guess on whether the user in question is ACTUALLY a pedophile trying to groom minors or if the OP just got upset because the user ships an OC who's 19 with an OC who's 17, or the user ships two adults but one is short or has a flat chest so that makes them "minor-coded", or something equally as dumb.

And 9 times out of 10, it's the latter. It REALLY waters down these terms and makes actual victims of grooming and similar get ignored because people just assume it's another one of these incidents. I hate it.
