Do you ever wonder who named the cat twins, “Aym” and “Baal?” Did Forneus name them or was it The One Who Waits? If the latter, imagine after the reunion, Forneus wistfully thinking about the names she planned to give her infant sons, but now she has to adapt to calling them the names Narinder gifted them because they’ve been called those names nearly their whole lives and it just wouldn’t feel right to change them now. (I’m strongly leaning towards Narinder naming them considering where the names Aym and Baal come from and their meanings…) The nostalgic and melancholic feeling of what might have been…

I wrote a monologue at 3am a few days ago for 19th Century AU so it might not make sense but I think it sounds cool

Narinder: Damn you, you who have plagued my thoughts since the day we met! My mind has been a tempest not unlike the days leading to my exile—were I a less intelligent man, I would think myself [as bewitched as the others who pursued you, and taken my chances]. But I know myself to be a fool, with the selfsame sentiments a fool [in love] has.

You stand at the eye of this tempest, damned woman, and my foolishness persuaded me to bear the brunt of the storm for but a glimpse of your attention. You are the [Helen of Troy], for whom I would call upon the Old Gods if it meant keeping you by my side.

Yet you spurn me. I suppose I deserve such a punishment for all that transpired. Yet a part of me wishes for your affection, even for just a moment. You must think me no different than those suitors of yours. Know that despite my desires, I am no less deserving of you than the rest. If anything, I do not deserve you at all.

I am a damned selfish man, and you never let my wealth blind you to that fact. For that, I have bared my soul to you alone and given you my heart—You have me at your mercy, Allani. Do as you wish, and I shall not protest.

Allani: If you want to wax poetic about your affection, perhaps you should write a letter I could ignore instead.

I really like how Aym and Baal wear the same type of veil as The One Who Waits. Did TOWW dress them up? Or did they choose to wear it themselves? Kinda fun to think about.

Inspired by @theskyiscorn's comment on the Shakespearean monologue lol thank you. Don't mind its quality it was spur of the moment a few days back

Allani: Look at you, so different from the man I rebuked the day we met! You're nothing more than a smitten schoolboy, pining for his object of affection! [You mock me with these honeyed words of yours. I find it pathetic to see you stoop down to such levels.] But I must thank you, however, for the kindling that fuels my fireplace.

Narinder: Do not deny those letters you keep hidden under your books, or pillows, or —

Allani: What? I've done no such thing! You delude yourself if you think I return your affections, for you have made a mockery of yourself, loathsome, pathetic Prince. Hmf! (letter falls out of her pocket as she turns)

Narinder: (picks up the letter and reads it, lips curling into a smirk) Then, pray tell, Miss Allani, why do you keep one of my letters on your person if you find them so vile? I thought this was nothing better than kindling?

Allani: (screams and punches Narinder in the face)
