This #mbstorm has kept us ALL on our toes and should help us reflect on what we are truly thankful & grateful for this #ThanksgivingWeekend 🙏 . . We stayed open last night (and will tonight too) for folks who were without power and we were happy to extend our warm place for them to be for a few hours! . . But it made us think of all the women and men working throughout the night clearing drains, restoring power and answering to the thousands of affected people! We thank you. We were on the brink of being flooded last night, but the tirelessness work of others helped us avoid that and allowed us to open our doors 8am this morning! . . . This storm also forced us to reflect on the environment and what things we can do to better the devastating effects on our eco-systems. 🌎 . . So here’s our part: Since our inception, we have only used eco-friendly take out containers, cups & cutlery! And we use compostable straws that you must request, as needed. . . . But back to our Town/City Workers: In the spirit of giving, we are also offering any Municipal Workers (in uniform) with a free large coffee (Take out) & 15% off all breakfast, lunch & dinner items (Take out) for the rest of this weekend as they continue working on keeping us all comfortable and warm! . . . 最低賃金を400円上回る「好待遇」

  2015年11月20日、国内24店舗目となる岐阜羽島倉庫店が岐阜県羽島市にオープンした。時給はポジションによって分かれ、最低でも1200円。深夜、祝日勤務になると1500円～1600円まで跳ね上がる。岐阜労働局が発表している県最低賃金は746円で、コストコの時給はその1.6倍という「好待遇」だ。

  これをうけてか、近隣に出店していたある大型チェーンストアが12月に時給を上げている。公式サイトの求人募集を見る限り、資材商品管理を担当するパート従業員の時給は11月末時点で780円、12月6日までに820円、7日に900円と徐々に上がった。岐阜県内の同一店舗で同じ業務に携わるパート従業員の時給としては、最も高くなった。日曜、祝日勤務はさらに100円上がる。県の最低賃金や市内にある他店の求人募集内容と比較すると、これでも十分高いと言えるが、コストコの時給には及ばない。

  こうした様子が12月5日頃、インターネット上で広まり、

「コストコの時給が素敵すぎ」 「すばらしい」

といった肯定的な声が多く寄せられた。中には「外資系の方が日本経済に貢献している」との指摘もあった。

  この「好待遇」ぶりは、地域に何らかの影響を及ぼしているのか。羽島市に実家があるという男性は、J-CASTニュースの取材に「羽島市に住む母から、コストコが周りの店舗の人手を奪っているという趣旨の話を聞いた」と明かす。一方で羽島商工会議所の担当者は取材に「あんまり人（手）が集まっていないと聞きますけどね」と話しており、真相は分からない。

コストコは「同一労働同一賃金」

  ���の地域は、コストコ出店でどのような影響を受けたのか。中部地方1号店のコストコ中部空港倉庫店が2013年8月にオープンした愛知県常滑市では、地域の賃金相場が底上げされたという。15年10月7日付け中日新聞電子版によると、パートの時給は10年前に中部国際空港（セントレア）ができてから上がり、コストコ出店後はコンビニなどで時給1000円が普通になった。市内の居酒屋や製造業は、求人に苦労しているようだ。

  その上で、「コストコができ、地元の中小企業の経営者が従業員の賃金や働きがいを意識するようになったのは良い点だ」という常滑商工会議所担当者の言葉を伝えている。

  コストコはアルバイトの時給に「同一労働同一賃金」を徹底させている。現在全国に展開する24店舗では、すべて同じ時給で働ける。「最低でも1200円」は全国共通というわけだ。

  一般的に、日本企業は店舗所在地によってアルバイトの時給を分ける傾向にある。求人情報誌「TOWNWORK」を発行するリクルートジョブズが15年10月20日に発表した「2015年9月 アルバイト・パート募集時平均時給調査」によると、販売・サービス系のアルバイトの時給は最も低い九州地域（798円）と最も高い首都圏（984円）の間で200円近い差がある。
