apparently the jjk we know now was not the jjk gege had in mind before chapter 1, and this...this makes a lot of sense actually (context: here, and also this is one of the first drafts).

I'm sorry but it is extremely funny to me that Nene5 basically goes "fuck the power of friendship when you got the grindset" and nobody is talking about it.
This is mostly a joke because ik that's not really what the event is about but like it is so funny to have Nene being told to "not have compassion" like DAMN.

can we have more random lore drop
My life hasn't been all that interesting lol, a lot of my "lore" is more depressing than anything else lmao
But uh... I was stung by a jellyfish as a kid? I almost went to an art school in California for character design/concept art when I was like 18? As a kid I was such a nerd that I read encyclopedias for fun?

Can I ask what went wrong with your first agent? A lot of debut authors have been leaving their agents and I'm eyeballing the pub industry so hard rn
ultimately, she was the right agent for dead girls don’t say sorry, but not the right fit for… everything else i write.

“For Now,” Phases of the Moon Knight (Vol. 1/2024), #4.
Writer: Fabian Nicieza; Penciler and Inker: Moisés Hidalgo; Colorist: Fer Sifuentes-Sujo; Letterer: Cory Petit
#Marvel#Marvel comics#Phases of the Moon Knight#Moon Knight comics#latest release#Moon Knight#Nakia Hunam#coming out swinging criticizing both the bourgeoisie AND populism is a bold choice#but gosh there’s just a lot of biting commentary here in general of both colonialism and the colonized#I refuse to dig and see what kind of wild takes people are making about this story but I can bet it’s made people uncomfortable#probably raised questions of who gets to make such criticism#because yeah we can all agree that colonial kidnapping of great artifacts is a travesty#cough cough the British Museum being the most infamous offender cough cough cough#but I have seen (not saying I endorse it) push back saying that by painting colonial powers as solely swooping in#and stealing artifacts negates the active role some members of the colonized population had in the industry#which some people feel is patronizing and creates an over-simplified view of history#other people still will push back against THAT by saying the economic power imbalance between colonized#and colonizer inevitably leads to the latter taking advantage of the former including in the archeological industry#I’ve seen some parallels with the environmental question#a colonizing power will come in and raze the land/extract wealth in minerals and ancient treasures#then a century later turn around criticize formerly colonized countries for clearing land for farming or trafficking artifacts#with some representatives of the latter saying «you ruined us now it’s our turn to try and do what we can to develop»#there’s also something there about formerly colonized countries with rich histories losing irreplaceable goods due to political instability#with a history of colonization not being able to be discounted as a major contributor to that instability#anyway it’s a tough topic and as per always please take my ramblings with the biggest grain of salt you’ve ever seen#what I do know is I would love for Nakia and Layla and Marlene (maybe even the Moon Knight What If..? version?) to have tea together

i turned in my two weeks recently and the boss lectured me today while i was. drafting a guide to help whoever replaces me. and then he implied i wouldn’t be welcome back to work in the future. and yesterday my manager told me she’d love to have me back if my new job doesn’t work out.
also he’s gonna talk to my new boss about me and how he doesn’t want my boss to hire people from his store without asking him. which is like. dude the reason i didn’t tell you when i was applying was because i didn’t want to get fired before i knew i had a job lined up. so like. not only would i not be welcomed back, but my new boss might decide it’s too much trouble to hire me and might rescind his offer.

I had some suck-ass shoestring fries last night and I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to make them more palatable instead of becoming chicken food.
And guess who just found a hunk of knock-off Velveeta in the fridge?!?!
Oh yeah, we're going for cheese fries.

I just saw a whole tiktok thread about the P Diddy lawsuit, and I am shocked and concerned. What do you think of this? I don't want to think of this, but at the same time I ca't help being afraid now.
TRIGGER WARNING (talk about abuse in the music industry). Seriously.. don't read if you are easily triggered by this.
Hi anon! This is a terrible topic isn't it? I wish I could say I was surprised, but after Epstein and Weinstein, something like this does not surprise me at all. I've been reading and watching stuff like this about the entertiainment business for years.. it's terrible... and it's abuot time certain people get exposed for what they are. I think this is going to be huge and I think/hope this is only the beginning.
It all comes back to money and power. And the entertainment business is full of that. Young people with dreams of being famous often pay a high price. There's many people who take advantage of those young people with dreams. Blackmail, abuse, forced substance abuse.. it's tales as old as the industry themselves. There's plenty of artists who have spoken up about the abuse they suffered (from their labels, from management, from producers, from other celebs)... it happens everywhere.
It pains me to think of BTS members in this context, but I have often. It's no use to act as if the Kpop industry is different from the western music industry. It is not. The amount of s***cides is high. There is probably a reason for that. I wish I was able to say with certainty that the boys were always safe, but I cannot. I think they're fine now.. but I cannot be sure about how things have been in the past, when they were younger and probably unprotected. I can only hope that the extent of their troubles was that they were overworked.. and that might actually be true. We just don't know. What does give me some sort of hope.. is that there were seven of them, and they are really close... and the Hyungs are protective and smart.
It is important to talk about these things. Which is why I do so now. Because this has to stop. It ruins peoples lives and when no-one ever talks about this it will only keep on happening.
