Because they make products for money and not passionnate ideas they simply have to bring into the world. These "creative" industries are desperate for factory line product making, like tooth brushes on a conveyor belt.

Indie's know their work is building upon a foundation in broad daylight, unhidably. Their primary goal is bringing their vision to reality using alot of groundwork as a basis. It's great because it's a creator inspiring a creator, as purely a bonus and nothing more, this cuts down the workload of creating everything from the ground up including alot of learning processes that genuinely may be better established later. I.E. learning to draw Sonic before learning to draw your OC and giving them character/designs.

Because of this, there's an established respect between 2 creators that give indies the knowledge and skill to get further, that should then inspire the original creator to consider avenues they wouldn't otherwise.

It should be a yin yang. If you work with other foundations, you can't just pretend it's not actually there. It's broad daylight so everyone can see when you're pretending it's yours instead of theirs.

The crafting recipe the MC movie showed off? Disrespectful, it wants to entirely be it's own thing and prays you don't know anything about the foundation it built upon. It can't because it's easily the simplest idea they could've adapted but actively chose not to. To know otherwise is to move the chair out of the way of the minecraft logo they hid desperately.

Because of this, there is no inspiration, no kid is gonna find throwing rocks n sticks on a block and turning them into buckets magical, because in these cretin's infinite wisdom, that was not a worth-while foundation to build off of, but to obscure as if it'd only be mocked if seen, while theirs, not the best solution, is clearly superior regardless. That's their mentality, if they don't understand it, then it's bad, if they have no ideas, then hide it with something, anything.

Indie creators use foundations to inspire others to build off both the original and their foundations. To take what's there and express something new using it. To introduce new elements is one debatable thing, to replace? Is to say you've done better. And they undeniably haven't.

Big budget bullshit doesn't know shit from shit in art. All they know is no matter what they do, they always make back their investment. An idea you Have To Make Real? Involving Minecraft? None of those were together in the board room meeting and it's genuinely what Minecraft Always Was from Version Ruby.

It was "What can we sell as a plushie? What mobile company can make us a tie-in?" "Who would take the smallest wage and bring in the most audience? Jack Black of course! Oh and some total randos who'll take peanuts."

Everytime they harrass an employee and say they'll lose their job if they speak up, everytime they force creative to alter their vision for "marketability", everytime they denied gay or PoC time on TV, everytime they laid off thousands and gave themselves millions, they were never, proven, wrong.

A movie like this is only exposively blatant because....well there isn't another time period where this many eyes would be on an intentionally sabotaged product, and truth be told I don't think they realize the sheer audience size and variety in age and culture. At all. They really thought this was a run of the mill popular children's IP.

The industries these old fucks control have no interest in vision or art, in expression or feeling. And after years and years and no worthwhile unions, there's no where for creative spirit to prosper. And everytime something new actually makes it big, it was meant to flop, and eventually gets turned to slop.

As for indie, we've seen good work turn bad and it's always the same exact story: "I ran out of ideas. I no longer had a passionnate idea I needed out in the world. Just needed money." and then content farming.

Hollywood doesn't want passion projects. Hell no industry does. They want profitable projects, and think art is like an infinite resource of items to manufacture, like they can be the first to make a toothbrush v2, shoes v3, but with characters and a story.

As far as the people in charge of the people in charge of creative are concerned, a passion project is like a kid's drawing and only those with wealth and power can make real art, and the Minecraft Movie is what they think "Real Art" is, but Only If It's Successful.

So please. God please. Do not prove them right. This industry is never proven wrong, go out of your way to not know about this movie. Don't make videos when the piece of filth is out, don't go "Oh wow I had no idea but it turns out the MC movie is ou-" shut the fuck up.

This needs to flop, or they're right and this is Real Art, and Minecraft is actually meaningless. Not to the average public, but to writer, animator, artist, janitor and voice actor alike's Boss? They were right. There's nothing to gleam from this that other flops couldn't better teach.

Genuinely make a shitpost, say your piece(s), and move on. Be upset for sure, shit on it with friends, but try not making it anything active.

We are simply in the reactive stage, and it should end there, not evolving further one iota. No history book or wiki pages. Like it straight up doesn't exist.

Why acknowledge a piece meant to signify meaninglessness without an ounce of intention other than to essentially accrue money? It'd be like supporting AI because companies want to stop hiring artists, quite sincerely, that is what a watch on whatever stream service, or movie ticket, truly means.

Pirate it and say nothing for a month minimum I beg you.

I know everyone and their dog are talking about the Minecraft Movie trailer and all possible opinions on it have already been stated but I have a new take

This all ties back with the Studios vs Indie war that's been brewing. Because you may not think of it that way, but the buckets and buckets of minecraft animation strewn across YouTube are indie animation projects. Of course the movie was going to have to compete and get compared to Story Mode, but it was also going to get compared to Captian Sparklez, Rainimator, Squared Media, Villager News, Animation vs Minecraft, and so much more. All of these count as indie animation, though usually they're left out of the discussion.

Despite having infinitely more resources, people, and funding, studios keep fumbling again and again and again. They keep losing to tiny teams of ametures making videos on YouTube and the Minecraft Movie makes it so much more obvious.

Lumpygrab – LSP & Lemongrab, a ship I dedicated a blog to because even though they’re canon, they’re still a rarepair and a crackship – what other craziness would you expect from Adventure Time?

Second row:

Francoeur & Vlaštovka (Swallow bird in English) – a robot dictator and his harpy companion, villains of another story I have yet to write. And yes, Vlaštovka does indeed have four arms. I drew those, but was too lazy to draw her actual wings.

Zora & Akta – the first gay characters I ever made, I think. Zora was a creepypasta/demon OC who I gave overpowered abilities to, but then redesigned her because she was killing me with cringe. Akta is... not exactly a demon? Her story is in progress, but I keep rethinking what she should be, exactly. As you could probably guess, she was inspired by Chara from Undertale :)

Trirax – Trixie & Thorax, from My Little Pony, the rarepair ship I will go down with. They’d be adorable together and you can’t tell me otherwise!

Darx & Vitalia – would you believe if I told you these were Minecraft OCs? Yeah. I read a few books written in the Minecraft universe a while ago and was inspired, but I wanted to make it different. So, I wrote a story where Vitalia (the white-haired one) manages to topple over a bunch of potions that mix together and do something to her and the Enderman chasing her (Darx!). They discover that they’re slowly turning into each other’s race, she’s becoming a monster and he’s becoming human, hence the weird skin colours.

Goddess Secret & Rwakk – I made A LOT of alternate versions of Secret. She was originally a pony OC, and most of her AU versions are also ponies. In one story I was co-writing with a friend of mine, we started joking about him always writing bad endings and me always writing good and happy endings. This resulted in the creation of two gods of story-telling, influencing worlds, battling each other and playing with each other, and keeping the story-writing universe in balance. It’s not exactly a ship, but Rwakk is a dear friend of mine and he deserves a kiss 😘 Also we use these characters to cope sometimes, so 🤷‍♀️

Jabu and (the OG) Secret – two dorks from an RP filled with pirates, slavery and underage drinking, what fun! Basically Jabu (the zebra) has been serving a rich guy his whole life and never knew anything else, until Secret came with a pirate crew she joined on accident and, too empathetic for her own good, decided to show him friendship, and kindness, and a world where he didn’t have to always return favors, where he didn’t always have to listen to orders. While playing this RP and trying to get Jabu to understand as simple concepts as “this isn’t a deal, I’m just being nice, you don’t have to immediately pledge your service to me bro, chill” really challenged my writing (and also sometimes my morals, as Jabu had none).

Entrapdak – Hordak & Entrapta from She-Ra: The Princesses of Power! One of my more controversial ships because Hordak is the villain, and he’s pretty evil, and then Entrapta is the greatest example of a morally grey character and his first real friend. I really hope they end up being okay, but with the way the series is going right now, I’m slightly worried about them. Also just a note, if you ever get into the fandom and ship them, know that there are ppl arguing against this ship everywhere. It’s not worth it to join the fights. Let the ship wars be.

Papara – Chara & Papyrus from Undertale, my two faves from the game. Over time I sorta gave Chara my own headcanon of abilities and backstory and stuff, and decided that someone like them could really use someone with endless forgiveness in his heart in their life. I wrote tons of “second chance for Chara” fanfics I never finished, and I hope there’ll be more content of them.

Prie & Lavinne – OCs from a comic I’m determined to make! Everything about them keeps changing except for their designs but rest assured that their stories are magnificient! Also you don’t get to see it from this angle but Prie has three eyes, two on this side and one on the side we can’t see.

Fifth row:

Penny and Marion – the OG ship. I got into MLP and FNAF fandoms around the same time and since I’ve never before been in one, I was absolutely in love with all of it, especially the Brony community. So, I wrote a crossover fan fiction about a robot pony fighting Purple Guy! I wrote two and a half story about her, with twenty parts total, and to this day I am immensely proud of this. The fact that she somehow falls in love with the puppet of all animatronics should not be important 😅

Lemon Pancakes – Lemongrab 2 & Breakfast Princess, a magnificient ship @charliecharlo came up with (bless you for this treasure) I realized I absolutely love BP’s design (especially in normal clothes tho) and I live for the angst that has to come eventually when LG2 becomes a part of LG3.

Charlastor – Charlie Magne & Alastor form @vivziepop’s Hazbin Hotel cartoon! If anyone dares tell me a) that Al is asexual and cannot therefore have romantic relationships or b) that Charlie is canonically with Vaggie, I won’t do anything but I’ll be silently judging you from over here. Once more I call to all of you. Let the ship wars be, they’re especially aggressive in this fandom, and it hasn’t even existed for that long. That being said, I love that they’re both musical souls and I really really hope Alastor becomes genuine friends with her in canon, at least.

Osanna Gaza, 17 (on the verge of 18), She, Her, Hers. Osanna is the eldest child of Ivon Gaza (who is a fucking BITCH) and Adelina Gaza (who has never done anything wrong in her life ever). Osanna is the princess of Astoria (one of the kingdoms I created) but she’s not the heir to the throne since Astoria doesn’t practice equal primogeniture. She’s not bitter at all. Really. She has long golden blonde hair, dark blue eyes, tall, lithe stature and fair skin that tans easily (yes that’s relevant to the plot). Osanna is prone to bouts of jealousy and pettiness, especially when she doesn’t get her way. She’s headstrong and as stubborn as an ox, much to her father’s chagrin. It’s a struggle for him to get his daughter to do anything he wants. She isn’t all bad though. Osanna would do anything for her family, especially for her youngest brother, Eden, and isn’t one to balk at confrontation. Osanna is smart, resourceful, and ambitious. All she wants is to be recognized for her mind, which is her greatest strength, and she spends the majority of my book trying to get that recognition. She’s also bi as fuck 🌈🌈 I’m putting the rest under a read more bc holy fuck this got long 

Lani Neda, 17 (on the verge of 18), She, Her, Hers. Lani was orphaned at a very young age. Her parents were found mauled to death in her family home after they refused to let her leave home to attend the school meant for spellcasters secreted away in the mountains of Maras (another kingdom I created). Coincidentally, the caster who came to visit was also the one to pull her from the orphanage and take her to Magai (the school/city for casters) anyway. Totally not related at all. Lani was basically a child soldier, trained in magic, combat, and espionage, and only concerned with protecting the royal family of Maras, especially princess Mai, who’s her closest friend. Lani had short, dark, curling hair, brown skin, and eyes so brown that they appear black. She’s short but well-muscled from her training (and reliable palace meals). Not every orphan is as lucky.  Even when she's not aware of it, Lani carries herself like a soldier; back straight, firm stance and arms at her sides ready to salute or unsheathe her weapon at a moment's notice. Lani is quick on her feet, abrasive, and not the easiest person to get to know. All her life she's had her weaknesses exploited and vowed to never show weakness again. She's intuitive and relies more on instinct rather than logic. She's loyal to a fault and can be absolutely ruthless in battle, holding nothing back. Lani is brave and willing to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. She's serious and seldom jokes around with others. She hates when people don't apply themselves or give up prematurely. She always gives it her all and expects everyone else to do the same. She values hard work, tenacity, and strength. She’s also gay as fuck (for Mai and later Osanna) 🌈🌈.

Aidan Aterra, 18, He, Him, His. Aidan, like Lani, is also an orphan, except he never knew his parents. His caretaker at the orphanage, Dame Mara Finch, or Dead-Eyes as the children called her behind her back for her pale grey eyes, said that he had been left out on the porch of the Foxbrook orphanage in the middle of one the worst blizzards Iskald (another kingdom) had ever seen. His lips had been bluer than death, his skin cold to the touch. She told him that she had contemplated leaving him outside and letting nature continue to run its course but as soon as she had turned around to close the door, the most ghastly wail had burst forth from his lips. He grew up in the orphanage constantly being reminded of her kindness and her generosity, even when he went to bed without supper, or was forced to sleep in the manor’s old dungeons when he misbehaved. When Aidan was ten, he had decided enough was enough and that he was going to run away from the orphanage, making it as far as to the marketplace of their town. Aidan tried to pickpocket a mercenary and ended up following him home instead. The mercenary, and his mercenary company, the Fox Claws, took him in and Aidan was raised in their life of killing, thieving, and the occasional case of vigilante justice. Normally, Aidan is a fun-loving and spontaneous boy who isn’t one to shy away from a party or conversation (only with people he’s let in).  He’s also observant, a trait that has saved his life more times than he can count. However, in extreme situations of distress, such as his childhood at the orphanage and his life after Asher’s disappearance, Aidan withdraws on himself. He’s more prone to risky behavior and uncaring about his wellbeing. He feels a growing numbness inside of his chest and wonders why he should even bother doing anything at all. He also experiences intense regret and self-loathing. He’ll never tell anyone though. Lord knows Dead-Eyes didn’t like criers. All Aidan’s life, he's been met with derision and prejudice due to him being an orphan and likely a bastard. His personality is a result of that. He's sarcastic. Evasive. Shuttered. He puts on a devil-may-care facade to keep others out. Although he can be selfless and kind around children, Aidan is usually self-concerned. He rarely thinks about the consequences of his actions. Some view him as brave for all of the dangerous situations he welcomes with open hands. Others think he's just plain stupid and has a death wish. Aidan always likes to jape that it's a little bit of both. Aidan has black hair that touches the tips of his ears, and strange eyes for an Iskali, who all typically have blue or gray eyes. Aidan's eyes are hazel. Not quite brown. Not quite green. That paired with the olive cast to his skin tone makes him an outsider among the Iskali. After the disappearance and suspected death of his best friend and partner in crime, for which he is the main suspect, all Aidan wants to die is fuck off from the main continent and drink his way into an early grave so he can be with his best friend, Asher, again. He’s also pan as fuck 🌈🌈

Kali Sylva, 16, She, Her, Hers. Kali is the daughter of Alwin Sylva and Tiatha Meimri, and the crown princess of Dererra (another kingdom. you get the idea). Kali is also the sole heir to the throne, due to her being the only child of Alwin and Tiatha. Her very existence is a bit controversial, at least in Dererra. Dererrans are extremely traditional (read: pretentious, prejudiced fucks) and expected for Alwin to marry a Dererran noblewoman. Instead, he married Tiatha, a Khosagho (another kingdom) native. Princess Kali Sylva is a walking contradiction. Quiet, yet opinionated. Shy, yet brave. Sweet, yet fierce. Kali has little confidence in herself and often thinks the worst of others—mainly because they assume the worst of her. Half-breed, they call her. Part Dererran, part Khosaghi. Kali is straightforward and doesn’t much care for silver-tongued folk. She likes to keep to herself and more often than not, prefers the company of animals over humans. She struggles with being from two different worlds and doesn’t feel as if she belongs anywhere. Around friends, Kali can let loose and be herself, and even be playful. With strangers, Kali is reserved and keeps to herself in fear of being reprimanded. Kali is prone to reading into something too much and jumping to conclusions. The only time she feels at peace with herself is when she’s in woodlands of her home with her bow in her hands. Part of her feels as if she doesn’t deserve the throne due to the years of scorn and derision she’s been faced with from other Dererrans. Kali has jet black hair, done in one of the traditional Khosaghi styles, with it being in long, uniform braids. She has smooth dark brown skin, and her father’s bright green eyes. Kali has broad shoulders and strong arms from years of firing a bow and elegant, high cheekbones. 

Cyd Pollock, 15 going on 16, He, Him, His. Cyd is the son of Myra, an innkeeper, and Cyrus Pollock, privateer turned full-blown pirate. For nine years of his life, Cyd never knew his father. It was just him, his mother, and their roadside inn, The Dirty Wolf, and that was all they needed. Everything was fine until a wave of influenza swept through western Masae and his mother, Myra, had fallen ill. Two weeks later, she passed away. Cyd was only nine. His father showed up a week later, stricken by grief, he took in his only son and raised him in the company of pirates, thieves, and murderers. Ever since then, Cyd has had to watch his back. He never knew what his father was like before the death of his mother. He’s only ever known a hard man who was impossible to please. The slightest toe out of line, and Cyd was subjected to cruel and unusual punishment. He learned to keep his mouth shut, don’t ask questions about his father’s “business” and to keep to himself. Cyd keeps to himself. As long as he asks no questions, as long as he doesn’t mouth off, he’s safe. Sometimes in particularly emotional moments he loses control and has a slip of the tongue; a witty comment here, a sarcastic barb there, and he takes the consequences every time. Cyd is very insecure and can’t help but care what people think about him, especially his father and his pirate crew. He hates how much he craves their approval but relishes the rare moments where he’s bestowed with praise. He’s smart though. Smarter than people give him credit. All the years he’s sat in silence, he’s picked up a few tricks from those around him. When he puts his mind to it, he can complete any task with accuracy and fervor. Cyd has wavy sandy hair that falls into his dark brown eyes. Cyd has fair skin and his body is speckled with freckles from spending hours upon hours out in the sun. He has rough, calloused hands from years of pulling and tying sailing ropes and hauling heavy cargo. He has many scars, most along his hands and wrist, although there is one particular scar below his bottom lip from where he had gotten a fish hook stuck in his face as a child. Cyd is relatively short, standing at about 5’9. He hasn’t yet hit his growth spurt. The last vestiges of youth are starting to fade though. The baby fat in his face is starting to melt away and revealing the shadow of a strong jaw.

So I’ve been meaning to post more images of my OCs, as I’ve made them in The Sims 4. So under the cut here is exactly that, sans the majority of my vampire OCs and a couple of others that I don’t write about or RP that often. Their names and a little info about them are above their pictures. :3

Myarel, aka my first ever OC. My grouchy demon boy. Has 5 siblings and a ton of cousins. His adoptive parent is his wife’s grandmother, Rowan. Externally grumpy, internally sweet. He and his siblings are Shadow demons.

Colton, a shy cyborg cutie. Is dating Myarel’s youngest sister Keida. Doesn’t like talking about his dad all that much. His right arm from the elbow down and his legs from his knees to about the soles of his feet are metal. His right eye has a small red dot in the pupil that grows when he experiences negative emotions.

Lyn, a blind, polyamorous Southern gentleman. Flirty and independent, and will whack you with his cane if you do something he doesn’t like. Lives with his three lovers on his farm. His father was a fairy, and his mother was a Shadow Demon. He has wings, but rarely exposes them, and can do a bit of magic.

Isaac, a gay former pirate. Prankster, makes stupid jokes, and can often be irritating, but still a sweetie. Adores his boyfriend. Helps Lyn out on his farm, and still loves the sea, though the land will be his home from now on.

Vi, a vampiress. Myarel’s wife and mother of their triplets. Is often told she looks like her grandmother. Adores her family, and acts as an older sister to her younger cousins.

Rose, Vi and Myarel’s daughter. A total Daddy’s girl, and the oldest of the triplets. (She and her siblings are shown here as teenagers, around 14.)

Viktor, Vi and Myarel’s son. Very close to his mom, and the youngest of the triplets.

Axel, Vi and Myarel’s son. As the middle child, he loves to mess with his siblings and parents alike, but he’s still sweet.

Dormir, one of Lyn’s lovers. A vampire who was born with double fangs, giving him a slight lisp. Is protective of his little sister.

Estrella, a mermaid. She’s engaged to Tiburón, and is another of Lyn’s lovers, as well as the mother of the quartet’s children.

Tiburón, a merman. Engaged to Estrella since they were young. Is mute, and speaks through sign language.

Aria, a young vampire, shown here as a teenager. Dormir’s younger sister, and admirer of everything he does.

Esteban, Estrella and Tiburón’s son. Oldest of his siblings, protective over them and Aria alike. (He and his siblings are shown as teenagers here.)

Angelita, daughter of Dormir and Estrella. The middle child of her siblings, she adores all of her parents, and especially adores her aunt Aria, who is more like a sister to her.

Cristobal, son of Estrella and Lyn. Shares his father’s eye color, but not his blindness. The youngest of his siblings, very close to his father.

Erika, Isaac’s older sister. Is kind of a social media celebrity, but she doesn’t care about fame as much as she cares about her brother and father.

Xalia, Myarel’s oldest sister. Likes bright colors, and is sometimes snappy, but cares more about her siblings than anything else.

Zukari, the middle child in Myarel’s family. Quiet, kind of shy, and bad at talking to people. More open around his family than around strangers.

Keida, Colton’s girlfriend and one of the two second-youngest kids in her family. She and Kikaru are twins. She’s more confident than both her brother and her boyfriend and makes them be social.

Kikaru, Keida’s twin and one of the second-youngest kids in his family. Doesn’t enjoy being social, but as he and his sister are usually together, he’s better than he used to be.

Zexion, the youngest child of Myarel’s family. Prefers spending time birdwatching rather than making friends, but is always joined by someone else in his room eventually.

Hexxian, Myarel’s oldest cousin. His nickname is Hexx. He was one of a set of quadruplets, but his sisters died in utero. The spirits of his sisters matured with him, and he’s always had their guidance. Married to Opal. His mother is a Shadow Demon, and his father is a warlock.

Opal, a rare Prism fairy, Hexx’s wife, and Lyn’s former guardian. Kind-hearted and soft-spoken, but not as delicate as she seems. Has helped Lyn glamour part of his farm so he can keep magical creatures in it.

Tarja, Myarel’s cousin. The oldest of her siblings. In the band she and her brothers made together, she plays bass and provides vocals. Genderfluid, mostly presents as female and accepts he/she/they pronouns. As a shapeshifter, she can take any form she wishes, though her eyes stay the same. She and her brothers are Shadow demons.

Xandon, nicknamed Xan. Oldest of Tarja’s brothers. Quiet and bookish. Plays piano and synthesizer for his family’s band.

Nexxan, nicknamed Nexx. The middle child in his family. Hyperactive, funny, and always full of energy. Plays drums in his family’s band.

Vixaine, nicknamed Vix. Second-youngest in his family. Unlucky in love, but believes he’ll find the one someday. Provides lead vocals in his family’s band, and can also play guitar.

Mizane, nicknamed Zane. The youngest in his family. Shy, sensitive, and very attached to his sister. Very rarely sings, but he can. Taught himself to play guitar, and plays it in his family’s band.

Draiman, Myarel’s cousin. Goofy and outgoing, always looking for ways to bug Myarel, but genuinely cares about him. Oldest of his siblings, first to move out of his family’s home. He and his siblings are Shadow demon/ Water demon hybrids.

Liberty, Draiman’s oldest sister and second-oldest in her family. Independent and always creating her own fashion trends. Can’t wait to move out.

Quill, Draiman’s brother. A bit lazy, but mostly just laid-back. Doesn’t worry about anything, even school, but still gets good grades.

Ingrid, Draiman’s youngest sister. Optimistic and outgoing, and always looking forward to tomorrow.

Rowan, a vampiress. Adoptive mother of Colton and Myarel, grandmother of Violet, and great-grandmother to Vi and Myarel’s triplets. She considers herself the mother of anyone who needs one. Youngest of her 12 siblings, and one of the two who survived. Kind and cares for her family.

Everett, aka my self-insert. Isaac’s boyfriend and Rowan’s grandson. Transgender and gay. Is the only one who can successfully play pranks on Isaac without him suspecting anything. Outgoing and always looks out for his twin brother. He and his brother are half vampire and half shapeshifter, and he can shapeshift into a white Cheetah.

Ethan, Everett’s twin and Xan’s boyfriend. Quiet, shy, and mostly scared of new people, but his brother drags him along when he feels he needs to meet people. Despite his shyness, he’s still sweet as can be. Can only shapeshift halfway into a white Cheetah, meaning he has all the characteristics of the Cheetah, but not the body.

Hickory, a shapeshifter that can turn into a Barn Owl, shown here in human form. Is often Rowan’s companion, though she doesn’t know he’s a shapeshifter and thinks he’s a normal owl. Is around 15 years old in human form. Knows he’ll have to come clean to Rowan eventually.

Jolene, nicknamed Buttercup. A Fire demon/succubus hybrid who abstains from using her seduction. Wears her mask to hide facial scars. Zukari is her boyfriend, and she loves him dearly. Also loves her two adopted siblings, Ren and Selene. Mistrustful of most people, but can come around eventually.

Selene, nicknamed Twitch. A Lightning demon/succubus hybrid who hasn’t used her seduction once in her life-- she’s terrible at it, it turns out. Nexx is her boyfriend, the only one who can keep up with her motormouth. Loves making new friends, very hyperactive.

Ren, nicknamed River. A Water demon/incubus hybrid, great at seduction but more content to make friends the normal way. Doesn’t talk much, but is willing to make friends. Despite being the same age as his sisters, he’s extremely protective over them.

Chris, a ghost. Was murdered, though he doesn’t remember who did it. He still has the scars on his chest, but he really isn’t looking for his killer. He’s just happy spending his days with his husband, Paul. Very mischievous, but only toward people he knows.

Paul, a ghost. When he met Chris he was alive, but he won’t disclose his manner of death to anyone, not even his husband. Is a DJ, and is super friendly despite his tendency to scare people who are unprepared.

Chimaera, a humanoid Chimera (lion/goat/snake), seen in a form closest to their normal one. Gender-neutral, will accept any pronouns but prefers they/them. It’s unclear if they choose not to speak, or if they just can’t. Shy and rarely wants to be around people, though they’re comfortable around Lyn.

Dee, a werewolf. She was born as a werewolf rather than turned into one, and as such she can become a wolf at will. Outgoing and loves to meet new people, and of course, loves sparkly things.

Wisteria, a Nature fairy. Lives with Draiman, though the two are just friends. Always surrounded by butterflies, and where her bare feet tread, flowers spring up. Rarely shows her wings to anyone. Is comfortable around people, but is more comfortable around nature.

Amelia, currently a zombie, formerly a shapeshifter who can become a Barn Owl-- and Wisteria’s younger sister. Doesn’t remember her real name, but people who’ve met her gave her the name Amelia. Very shy, and can hardly speak as her voice is raspy. Her cause of death is unclear, but she’s not decaying. Loves animals and doesn’t like killing anything or anyone.

Emily, Amelia’s girlfriend and the daughter of two gay men. She’s outspoken and takes no shit from anyone. Is very strong, and can lift her tiny girlfriend above her head. Thought zombies were all mindless until she met Amelia. Hopes to find a cure one day.

Erin, a dragon shapeshifter and distant cousin to Ethan and Everett. Reclusive, as his temper is not something he likes to show people due to his inability to control his shapeshifting when he’s angry. Is very close to Dementia, who has become his assistant and companion over the years.

Dementia, a Mist demon. She feels a connection to Myarel, though why she feels it is unknown. Has grown close to Erin, helping calm him down when his temper flares and coaxing him out of his dragon form. Hopes to be able to approach Myarel someday, but for now is content helping Erin.

Journey, aka my newest OC. A deer-inspired ball-jointed doll given life by Erin. Is quiet as she doesn’t know how to speak yet, but is also very stubborn. Assists Erin and Dementia when she can, but is independent and longs to explore the world.

1. What is your favorite fandom to write for? hahaaa it’s 95% Penumbra Podcast. I don’t know why this podcast is what made me such an enthusiastic fic writer but I am so grateful for it. 

2. What is your most “hot take” of a headcanon? Well I wrote a whole fic around the fact that Peter Nureyev thinks he was at fault for Juno walking out on him, but that’s not really controversial? 

Since Game of Thrones was big so recently, a few of my thoughts

(But addendum: good foreshadowing does not excuse bad writing and there is a ton of like, symbolism and gender and race issues and stuff to unpack with all of that.) 

Sansa should have married Podrick and Gendry should have left his title for Arya. Sorry, women deserve to be loved and adored and supported while they play the game. 

All of the Starks going off separately is bad, actually 

Tyrion should have died (This may be my hottest take) 

3. Is there a trope you just can’t stand? None of these are hot takes and some have fallen out of fashion but 

fics where every conceivable background character is paired up with another character who they haven’t even met

4. In what writing area or style would you most like to improve? Right now it’s outlining/plotting and setting up reveals better

5. What’s an AU you’d like to write but haven’t, and why haven’t you written it? I have a half finished Beauty and the Beast AU but now that I’m working on an original adaptation I may never finish it. 

6. Describe an OC you created for a fic in five sentences or less. Okay I’m going to totally cheat, but I’m still very proud of Alcyon Sultano, one of Peter’s alter egos in I Masquerade. He’s all of Peter’s sharp edges with none of the wonder or optimism, and he’s scary as heck. 

7. What is your best writing tip? If you’re writer’s blocked, do the dishes. You’ll probably find a solution once you’re away from the computer and other distractions, and if not, at least you have clean dishes. 

8. Name a writer who has influenced your writing style, and how. Maggie Stiefvater taught me how to slow down and actually describe things, and also to sometimes just tell instead of showing. My style changed so much after reading the Raven Boys.

9. Which character do you wish you wrote more about, and why don’t you? Fandom: I miss the Saiyuki fandom, but I’ve only got so many hours in the day to read fic Original: I love Ben, my practical little witch boy, but I have so much trouble making him work with my current plot

10. How do you deal with writer’s block? See my above dishes tip. Also writeordie.com on kamikaze mode. 

If it’s not because of general distractions/tiredness, I try to figure out where my story went wrong. I have a sit and think about wild what ifs, because usually I’m missing a solution that will make the story more interesting. 

11. If you wrote a story that was a fusion of two separate fandoms, which would they be? I already wrote a Persuasion/Penumbra fic. Hmmm I would happily write a Pirates fusion with anything else.

Masterpost of Padfoot’s OCs

This is long because I have a LOT of pets... So I’m gonna put it under a read more. Including their current customizations/any artwork associated with them. Going to group them by character storyline, starting with my one-offs. AKA not really developed characters set by themselves or with one or two other pets.

Stand Alones/No Real Character Development/Need to work on:

Amethystira aka Sis. Affectionately called my Queen of Bones. Sis was adopted as a baby xweetok and started being trained for the BD back when the obelisk was starting to be whispered about. She had a character along with some other baby pets I had but I scrapped them all but hers, adopted out the three other babies and morphed her into a pirate draik. Then I was sick of looking at her as a pirate draik so I painted her green. Then I realized I didn’t actually like draiks so I started zapping. Then the lab decreased a few of her stats. I didn't want to waste NP so I started fucking around in DTI and customized a Transparent Blum and decided I needed her. She’s also my booktastic books pet and will eventually be my gourmet pet. She doesn’t have an actual character yet, unfortunately.

Alaeri. I got Alaeri from Happy Zappers (idk if they even exist anymore, but they were like ZYDP) on April 4th 2013. I really love chocolate pets. Back when Neoschool was a thing here on the Neotag, Alaeri was a small part of it, but she doesn’t really have a character. Just that she’s a laid-back, outdoorsy lesbian. That’s literally it.

Efflie. I created Efflie 5 years ago and used an FFQ on her. I love aishas, I love chocolate pets. Her homepage is also home to the UC Trading Guide /~Efflie. She’s Alaeri’s girlfriend. But she’s more uptight and prissy. And that’s about it for her character.

Axella. I created a custom for a halloween guild challenge and fell so in love with it, I had to create her. I adopted Axella recently after seeing him UFA and shot off a quick NM app. He needs a gender change which I’m too lazy to send him to another account rn, but he’ll get it. Aside from that, no character at all.

Oracle Story Line

Oracle is being totally reworked right now. It was originally a storyline that I worked on with my friend Jezza who had a place called New Earth with her OCs. Oracle was founded by New Earth scientists on a planet far-yet sorta close by- and terraformed. Things went south in New Earth and all communication was cut off from Oracle. Oracle flourished for a quite some time and then had a crash in their stock market which prompted a civil war. When the dust cleared, Oracle was seized by the four remaining wealthiest families who promised to rebuild Oracle into her former glory. Unfortunately, they did not and they split Oracle into four quadrants to be headed by each family. Ravaged by the civil war and now basically a dictatorship with each quadrant ruled by a family, a rebellion begins to form by a group of the citizens, held up by two idealistic young adults. After nearly 30 years of fighting what seems to be a losing battle, these two adults are captured, tried for crimes against the land and executed. Their only child, a daughter who ran away in her teen years, is now called upon by the remaining rebels to become the new face of the resistance and give hope to the remaining members.

I’m reworking this with some friends to be set in a Neopian-centric land. I think what we’re going to do is make Oracle a province of Moltara, since it’s a steampunk post apocalyptic setting, and we’ll work in the Oracle lore with Neopia lore.

Drisit. I’ve had Drisit for longer than my 6 year old daughter has been alive. When I was pregnant with Lily, I got REALLY back into Neopets. I used to frequent the gifting boards back then (they were a lot different than they are now) and at the time, I really liked white xweetoks. So a user, who’s UN I still remember, gifted me Drisit. (I was able to later repay her by gifting her a female rb draik) Drisit is the pet that inspired me to create neo OCs and start doing art of my pets.

Drisit is the daughter of the fallen rebel leaders. As a child, she was trained in fighting by her father and in advanced military tactics by her mother. They groomed her essentially to take over the rebellion when she was old enough. Resisting their demands, Drisit ran away at sixteen years old. She survived on the streets, but just barely. For the poor, Oracle is a very hard place to live. But it gave her street smarts, sharpened her reaction time and many other things. After hearing of her parents death, Drisit returns to her childhood home to find it vacant. After a few days of staying there, mourning, the rebels made contact with her, asking her to return, to be the new face of the rebellion. Conflicted about it, Drisit does return and quickly finds herself as the head of the rebellion.

Symblor. I adopted Symblor from an UFQA board. She’s getting a complete customization overhaul. Depending on how the steampunk aisha looks, she may get that or she may just be painted silver. 

Symblor is Drisit’s right hand woman. She was sold by her parents to a group of bandits at a young age for drug money. After being put through many many horrors she was found by Drisit’s father near death. Drisit’s father was able to essentially keep her alive by turning her into a cyborg. The government that rules Oracle has outlawed cybernetic enhancements so it’s very hard for her to find replacement parts when her rudimentary parts given by Drisit’s father start to fail. She’s terrified of being caught, tried for treason and executed, so she’s mostly behind the scenes. Very intelligent and cunning, Symblor devises most of the rebel attacks/missions. She’s the one who contacted Drisit after her parents death and the two became quick friends. She’s a few years younger than Drisit.

V5S aka V. V was another UFQA acquisition. I love chocolate pets a lot. They’re fun to draw :3

V was an orphan found as a young child by an elderly couple who owned a bakery in Oracle. The bakery was passed down through the family and was once very prosperous many many years ago. Now, however, it is quite run down although V still provides treats when she can through illicit means (stealing stuff so she doesn’t always sell stale bread lawls) V is quite the risk taker and mostly uses her bakery as a front for the rebels to have meetings in her basement. She’s also the one in contact with Ave’s palace being the go between with Ave and Drisit (more on Ave later). She’s also skilled in medicine and often patches up the rebels after a skirmish. Her character needs much development however.

messr_m00ny aka Moony. I created Moony before the conversions. He was always destined to be a werelupe like his namesake, Remus Lupin. I took a hiatus before conversions and came back and unfortunately, had not painted him before then. Eventually I just sucked it up, despite preferring the UC version and made him into the werelupe he was always meant to be.

Moony is one half of a bandit duo. He’s the talkative, charming one. Growing up on the outskirts near the roughest part of Oracle, he had to steal and conive to survive. Although he has a way with the ladies, often seducing them for information, he is indeed very gay. Depending on how steampunk lupes look, he may get a repaint. Unsure.

Trelm was a stuck pet. I adopted him and painted him Stealthy myself. He’s the second half of the bandit duo and Moony partner, both in crime and romantically.

Trelm used to be a wisecracking, never serious, always jolly type. Despite having it hard growing up, he tried to hold onto a positive outlook. He and Moony found each other as young teens, orphans who grew up on the streets of Oracle. The two were always out for adventure, getting into scraps and fights, stealing, all sorts of illicit things to survive. And they were fairly good at it as well.

Until they met with the wrong group of raiders. After a fight that they nearly lost, Trelm had his throat cut and vocal chords severed. With some quick thinking, Moony got his partner to the bakery he had heard of where the  owner was able to save lives. After this, Moony decided for the two of them they were done with their banditry ways and were talked into joining the rebels by V. Trelm is now mute. He’s petpage also hosts the UC/BD trading guide, /~Trelm.

Iramkayim aka Iram. Iram is a funny story. A long long time ago, I came up with a character set in Oracle for an UC Grey Lupe that I was applying for. The owner eventually disappeared and I still stalked the Lupe for years. I saw him on a new account and apparently, the old owner had returned and traded at some point. Into a permanent home *sad face*

So a few months ago, I happened across a user adopting out their UCs. It was the lupes owner! He wasn't one of the ones that were UFA but I mailed the owner and told her I had applied for him and was wondering if she would be willing to trade. Instead, she offered to let me adopt! I was over the fucking moon. I had loved and watched this lupe afar for six or seven years.

Well. Long story short, he was from a compromised account, TNT reversed the adoption and the real owner got him back. Which is bittersweet. I’m glad she got her accounts/pets back, but he was once again in a permanent home.

So I started rethinking things. The character I made was very tragic, which is why I wanted an UC Grey Lupe. They are sad. But then, after thinking about it, while his character is tragic he’s ready to fight. Mostly because of revenge. So I decided on an UC Mutant Lupe cos they’re designs are fucking awesome.

So meet Lieutenant Iram Kayim. Iram grew up in the worst place of Oracle with poor excuses for parents. He fought throughout his life, always in some sort of trouble and as he got older, spending nights in jail. He was ruthless. Catching the eyes of some government officials, he was eventually drafted into their military. Quickly rising through the ranks, eventually, Iram becomes one of the inner circles most trust, often tasked with dangerous and immoral tasks.

Until he meets a young woman, the daughter of a man in the government. Iram falls in love with her, who softens his heart and makes him rethink his cruel ways. Eventually, they have a child, a daughter. Unbeknownst to Iram, his wife is secretly involved with the rebellion, a close confidante to Drisit and before her, her parents. She is able to give them information she learns through her father and Iram. One night she sneaks off to be a part of a raid, her daughter following closely behind her. She dies and Drisit finds Brenna, their daughter, crying over her mother's body. Trying to escape with Brenna in her arms, the two are shot and Brenna dies. Iram finds out the next day at work and immediately goes into a rage, and after inflicting some damage on one of his coworkers, quits his job.

He begins to drink his life away, living in the house, haunted by the ghosts of his wife and daughter until one day, Drisit shows up and offers him a proposal he can't refuse. Fueled by revenge, Iram becomes a soldier for the rebellion and eventually, he and Drisit fall in love.

CountessAvenge aka Countess Avenge aka The Countess aka Ave. Ave was my longest goal on Neo. It took me many years of trading to finally achieve her.

Ave is the daughter of one of the four families. She grew up not knowing the plight of the Oracle people. In fact, the only time she ever ventured beyond the castle gates was the day of her wedding. She was entered into a prearranged marriage to the leader of one of the four families. After the wedding took place in Ave’s castle, she journyed by carriage to her husbands palace and her heart broke at seeing her fellow citizens as she traveled across the land.

Once she reached her destination, Ave vowed to somehow, someway, change circumstances for her citizens. End their poverty stricken lives and give them and their children a future. Little did she know her new husband was a cruel man who delighted in his power. Growing depressed, Ave thought of ending her life since, as far as she could tell, she would not be able to help her people. Until she meets V, who is delivering some baked goods to the castle once a month. After talking in secret, V convinces Ave to supply the rebels with invaulable information.

Ave is the reason I am reworking Oracles storyline to be included in Neopia. Eventually, she meets Elle. Elle is the character my friend Coral has for an UC RG Kyrii she hopes to own one day. The two fall in love and carry out a secret relationship. Since the story is being reworked, I don’t have much info on the two yet, but they are hands down my OTP.

Twins of Shenkuu (and other characters)

These characters are based in Neopia and are RP’d with two of my friends and their characters. We’re working on getting a hub up at some point. There are actually two character groups involved in this, the Twins being the first.

Juni_Kava aka Juni. Juni was the crown princess of Shenkuu. Her father is Princess Lunara’s brother. We’re still working on the lore. She’s the only daughter with six brothers, one being her twin. Chase is the stand-in name for her twin, an UC Fae Wocky that my friend Gromit hopes to have one day.

Juni was born with a magical ability to influence air/mist. She was in line for the crown, along with her twin. Juni always followed her parents instructions, excelling at anything she tried. It was always thought she would become the next Queen. 

Until one day she is approached by the Moon Pheonix, a legendary creature that many stories were told of. However, everyone chalks the Moon Pheonix up to just that, a legend. Kyukuon (an UC Fae Pteri owned by my friend Coral) is the Moon Pheonix, charged with being a protector of sorts. It seems the Guardian of Shenkuu, another creature thought to be that of legend, is dying and Kyu has been tasked with finding the next Guardian. Unbeknownst to the twins, they have been observed in secret for quite some time by Jo, (UC Fae Xwee owned by Gromit) who is Kyu’s apprentice. When the time comes, Kyu makes contact with Juni and explains the situation to her, explaining that she is destined to be the next guardian. Fashioning a secret gateway between realms that will connect Juni to the castle and her family, Kyu convinces Juni to come with her to begin her training, leaving her brothers to vy between themselves for the throne.

AdaWong aka Ada. For generations, Ada’s family is one of the families tasked with protecting the Queen and King of Shenkuu, along with their descendants. Her mother and father are the current guards to the King and Queen and Ada was born at the same time as Juni. Growing up as best friends, Ada’s destiny was always been that she would become Juni’s protector. Eventually being sent off in her teenage years to begin her training, to a very very secret place, Ada and Juni are devastated to be separated. Secretly, they were in love but knew they could never be together due to Juni’s responsibility to the throne and the inevitable marriage and children she would eventually be expected to produce.

When Ada returns to the palace, she finds her friend gone and must make the decision, should she stay and become the protector of whichever brother inherits the throne, or follow her true love into an unknown adventure. Ada’s character has much to be worked on, but I think it’s a no-brainer what she chooses to do.

KittyRTM aka Katrina Rose aka Kitty. Kitty was born into a well-respected, but slightly lesser noble family. The family was known worldwide for providing some of the best produce from Faerieland, but they were most famous for their position in working alongside and assisting Queen Fyora. They were growing strong in Faerieland and were accumulating power through both their high ranking position with Fyora, and their thriving industry, but when Faire's father unexpectedly passed, things changed for the worse for Kitty and her family. Faire's mother had to sell their many farms to keep the pride of the family, the High Garden Estate, secure within the family.

There is quite a lot going on with Kitty’s family and it’s waaay to much to type up here. But if you’d like to know more, I’m currently in the process of changing my former project page for an UC Fae Aisha into her actual character page located on /~KittyRTM. I am very much in love with her character.

The Supernaturals

These pets also cross over into the Twins storyline and are RP’d with Coral and Gromit. They arent as prominent as the above characters and are also their own stand alone group. Many of them need character development.

Stariea aka Star. Star was an apprentice of Sophie the Swamp Witch when she was young and also worked for a time under Jhudora. She ties into the above characters through Sil and Jess (an UC Dari Eyrie and an UC Dari Lupe) that are owned by my friend Coral. 

Star is an exceptionally talented sorceress. She is feared by many, but instead of actually being malicious, she’s moreso out for herself than anyone else. After leaving Jhudora due to a disagreement, Star greatly dislikes the dark faerie and will do whatever she can to disrupt or irritate her. She still has a good working relationship with Sophie, however. Star is accompanied by Bonnie and Clyde, her bearclops. Bonnie was a meowclops and Clyde was a bearog. After an experiment gone wrong, they were fused together. They’re about the size of Jhudora’s pets, Daisy and Sarah. 

She is also accompanied by Bernard, a swamp ghoul she picked up on her travels. Bernard is not his real name, Star doesn’t know it. Although she treats him as a lowly assistant, he is quite terrifying in his own right, but he sticks with Star because she’s one of the few he’s crossed paths with that doesn’t run screaming from him on sight.

Falxo is a necromancer who was captured by Jhudora with the hopes that she would learn his magic. Disfigured due to her many experiments, since he wouldn’t just give up the information, Falxo and Star became close when she worked under Jhudora and Falxo was her prisoner. In fact, Falxo (alone with Sil and Jess, although Star doesn’t like Jess) was the reason Star rebelled against her teacher. Helping the three escape, Falxo opted to stay with Star. He’s somewhat silent and keeps to himself. The two are in a relationship and enjoy learning from one another. His character needs to be worked on as well.

Morovo aka Oro. Oro is akin to a crossroads demon. She’s able to make deals, promising fame and fortune to those that summon her. All she asks in return is something very simple, their soul. She meets Star when she’s summoned during an experiment Star and Falxo are attempting. Her character also needs heavy work.

Solariasae aka Solar. Solar is a young, clumsy witch who hounds Star to take her on as an apprentice. Her character will most likely be further developed based on what happens after The Wraith Resurgance. 

tocanini aka Toci. Toci is a druid who strives to protect all life. That’s literally all I have for her. Sorry Toci. We’ll work on you, I promise.

Spiritox aka Spirit. Yea Idk about him. He’s bad. But that’s all I got. Does magic. Or something. 

Liliaise aka Lili. She summons stuff. Idk anything else. Just that shes gonna be involved with all the above pets. 

Ryzzal and his partner Trikil (more on her next) are also tied into the Twins and Supernaturals through my friend coral’s pirate eyrie, Izi. Ryzzal ran away at a young age from his fathers home due to fear. He’s biologically male but is nonbinary. Fearing his father would find out, Ry left home. Eventually he ends up on Krawk Island, securing a job as a wench that serves the Food Club. He’s the prettiest girl in the room and has a slight fear of being found out to be male, but is generally accepted. Flirting around with the pirates, Ry loves his life. He still needs much development and I’ve never had a nonbinary character, so please don’t crucify me if I write him wrong. I’m always looking to learn more and happy to take critiques and suggestions!

Trikil aka Trikky aka Trik. Trik is an adventurous pirate who is always on the lookout for new treasure and adventure. She’s a regular on Krawk Island, especially since she met her partner Ryzzal, after frequenting the Food Club for fun and drinks. Although she isn’t always around, she has come to call Krawk Island home and looks foward to returning just as much as she looks forward to engaging on her next adventure. Sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. Her character also needs work.

The Space Explorers

These two are completely on their own, not touching any of my other pets. I do have a slight work around with @grobleen’s character, Cregan and some interaction with my friend Shanna’s space based pets. If you have spaced based pets, get at me! I’d love to expand this to include your pets as well!

Nirohean aka Niro. Niro is a fun loving bounty huntress. She can either be found bebopping around space looking for her next bounty, or stopping in on a nearby planet looking for the next party. She’s talented at her job, but loves having fun as well. She takes bounties that are interesting to her and isn’t ALWAYS on the side of the law, although she tries to be. She’s accompanied by her childhood best friend and pilot, Criliu and her Mechanized Laboratory Assistant Ridgewell that Criliu built for her. Ridgewell is a mixture between Portal 2s Wheatley and Fallout 4′s Cogsworth.

Criliu aka Cri. Cri is Niro’s best friend and pilots her ship. He’s a huge tech nerd and helps Niro with her bounties often by hacking into things and getting her information that other bounty hunters aren’t privy to. While Niro is an extrovert, Cri prefers to be alone with his ship and his gadgets. He’s secretly in love with Niro, but doesn’t know how to tell her.

Exhales Whew. That’s a lot of OCs. A lot of them need a lot of work. But I’m always open to friendships/relationships with other people’s OCs. Feel free to ask questions or whatever else with any of these babs!

Ava is eight and her life revolves around Ben, her older brother, since her parents are both very bad at taking care of their children (they’ve got their reasons, still doesn’t help anyone though). Now Ben is gone, though, and Ava has no idea how to cope with that. Ava is afraid of the darkness and the monsters it holds, and she loves the family cat Amber with all her heart. I have a lot of plans for her ;)

Benjamin Alec “Ben” Nichols

Ben is twelve and the whole reason why his family hasn’t broken apart yet. He didn’t really have much of a childhood because he instead takes care of his sister, depressed father, and science-obsessed mother all the while excelling in school because he thinks that people expect that of him. And now he’s dying, more or less. Basically, he just needs a break.

She’s fifty-seven and has given up on life after losing both her lover and her son. The only thing that#s keeping her going is taking care of the city’s abandoned pets and the carrier pigeons. She moved to Merreadon some twenty years ago. Before that she spent most of her life as a pirate queen fighting the very empire she now lives in (and despises, more and more). She sort of adopts both Ava and Ben halfway through the story.

Fiyare is probably five hundred years old, or older. She was once human before becoming a Guardian. She’s assigned to the Nichols family, and kind of failing at protecting them. It’s not really her fault, but she still feels like it is.

A Natah (godlike being in the destruction category); God of Death, basically. They protects the Fallen and makes sure that they find their way. They’re on the nonbinary spectrum and prefer they/them/their or she/her. Ava can channel their powers. They basically helped raise Iuri even though they never asked for it, Iuri just chose them.  Azrare doesn’t understand what Iuri likes about them so much but since they loves Iuri (in the family sort of way... or is it?) they don’t question it. Azrae spent thousands of years in perpetual loneliness, not even really realizing that they were lonely, until Iuri decided to be adopted by them. And that was that.

Nobody understands why she chose Azrae of all people, the gloomiest gloom to ever gloom. But since they’re both happy that’s all that matters. Ava can channel her powers.

He’s the leader of the Nanaël but has sort of given up in reent years since every child he’s chosen during the last 300 years was either taken or killed by the Asim (the sort of magic-users). Ben can channel his powers, and he only chose Ben because Fiyare told him so and he trusts her.

A Natah (Destruction), Lady of Chaos. She strongly dislikes being forced into roles she hasn’t chosen herself. She’s also completely bonkers and wants to destroy the universe. Ben can channel her powers. She’s been imprisoned since she brought on the last apocalypse. She’s not quite as imprisoned as everyone seems to think she is but she is still in there and hasn’t yet found out how to escape. Alasayr is her right-hand-man because she’s not powerful enough to contact her other friends allies.

He’s the Mist Rider, a mythical demon slayer. He’s very old, not quite six hundred years old (since the story takes place over a couple of years I’ll leave it at that). He hates his brother with all his soul, hates the demons, loves his dead little sister more than anything else, feels responsible for everything and loves Lirhin, his adoptive daughter, the way any father would. He does a lot of wonderful things but just as many horrible ones, for reasons only he himself knows. I’ve carried him around for roughly three years before I started writing firewings. He’s my problematic son and I love him.

Adoptive daughter of Ilien. Her parents are dead and Ilien saved her. She’s very rebellious, makes a lot of mistakes, rights many wrongs and is overall a very active person. I love her as much as I love Ilien, but I can’t talk too much about her because most of it is the story anyways.

Jouka

Oh, Jouka, my boy! I’d almost forgotten you… damnit, now I want to write firewings again. Jouka is basically the most trustworthy, calm, amazing person ever, and he’s chosen problematic fav Lirhin as his project. He can also heal. Of course, he has his demons, too, but who doesn’t? Definitely a cinnamon roll :D

Alienor

Oh, Alienor… She’s Jouka’s younger sister and can talk to animals, she’s also really good with languages and runes and so on.

From timid girl to badass warrior rebel queen… I love her. She lost her mother and older sister when she was very young, and after finding out about a few things runs away to find herself a better home. Also she hates Lirhin very passionately. She’s a very tough from the outside and it might take years to get close to her but once you’re there she’s totally a softie. She doesn’t care if you like her and she’s mean to everybody, get used to it. If you’re her friend she’ll protect you from everyone, though. She’s also very bi.

He has the problem that everyone around him manipulates him, and that he’s probably not strong enough to withstand all of them because if everyone does it that’s pretty hard. He also has the problem that he’ll never be as good as his sister, at least not in the eyes of his master, whom he tries to please always and in any way possible. Too bad if you don’t even really know who your master actually is.

Skye/Lucifer (I’ll change her name when I get back to this writing project… at first the story took place on earth, when it was only Lucifer. Now that it’s another world entirely her name makes little sense.)

Lucifer Reborn, only she has no idea. She’s sixteen, typical teenage rebellion phase, sassy, aggressive, quickly angered, impulsive and sometimes even manipulative – but at the same time incredibly kind, and generous if she thinks you deserve it. Only problem: She’s the daughter of two preachers whose church is based on the vilification of Lucifer, and she’s spent most of her life knowing that something is deeply wrong with her but has no idea what. So, basically everyone who hates Lucifer knows who she is, why she has no idea at all, just very bad self esteem and a cynical personality. She’s aro-ace.

Meera

Skye’s mother. She just wants her daughter’s best and has no idea (how could she) what she’s actually doing to her. She’s kind of bad at letting go and accepting that Skye has to find her own path. She’s also one of the leaders of the rebellion, but not the mind – she’s the heart, the one who keeps everyone human, who’ll have to make sure that this rebellion doesn’t end up making everything worse than it was before.

My baby… he’s the psychic, the dream-boy, the only one who can save Alun – the only one who can save God. Only problem: He’s the shyest person that has ever been and is so deeply afraid of people that it’ll take everything he has to do this. He��s also very broken, deep down, lived in an orphanage most of his life and is currently the apprentice to a cartographer because he’s excellent at drawing and memorizing things. He has to learn that he can be the active one for once, too, not just let everything happening to him without putting up any sort of resistance. He’ll find a lot of great friends really soon though.

Skye’s childhood friend, and, like his name says, he sometimes thinks that he’s just Skye’s echo, too. He spends most of his time protecting Skye from her (often bad) choices and standing by her side. Only, he has to realize that he’s his own person, too, and that he deserves happiness as well. He quickly finds the perfect best friend in Okazaki thought!

Harmony

He’s a war leader. Great name for a war leader, right? Only, the name is kind of fitting, because while Harmony is an excellent warrior he also has so much heart. He might be the only one who can save Rayden from himself, and thousands of lives. He has a very dark secret, and he’s very gay. He’s the knight in shining armour, basically, the saviour, the hero with a heart of gold.

Rayden

Rayden is the Emperor’s only surviving son and heir to the throne. He’s also really, really horrible, but he wasn’t always that way. He’s a monster and he knows it, and he knows that his choices and those of his father led him here. He thinks that he’s irredeemable and maybe would be in the eyes of everyone else. Only, there’s also Harmony, and Harmony believes in him.

Willow

Willow is in her eighties or so, the Healer from Skye’s home village. She raised Meera, Skye’s mother, and is basically the only one (apart from maybe Echo) that Skye trusts completely, with everything. She helps Meera, and Skye, and is generally incredibly generous and warm and calming and helpful. She’s also very broken, deep down.

Icarus

He chose the name himself after feeling like he didn’t deserve his old one. The most broken of them all, incredibly old, immortal, and the only one whose mind didn’t break completely during Lucifer’s torture. He takes care of her other victims, and he hates lucifer with a burning passion for what she did to them, and to him. He’s the only one with a sense of self. He’s waited for Lucifer’s return since a few thousand years, but now that she’s back he has to see that Skye isn’t Lucifer. That she any help she can get, especially since every single one of Lucifer’s enemies knows who she is, while she doesn’t. The only way to find release for himself and for the Others is to help Skye save herself, after all.

Roughly 250 years old. Mischievous, playful, always up for a prank. He needs to realize that sometimes you need to take responsibility to achieve anything in life. He might need to help Lucifer, and Cassandra.

Cassandra

Lucifer’s childhood friend. Roughly two and a half million years old. She’s the one who has to re-unite the Icari and the Oresh (similar to angels/demons) before they tear each other apart in the worst war the world has ever seen. She needs to realize that she has to do that, not Lucifer, even if she’s still very nostalgic. She’ll never forgive herself for not saving Lucifer, even though she really tried. Hard. She’s also bi. 

Kieran

M// OC RP (Read my dumb gay post)

Hi! I’m Jonesy (or JJ) and I’m on break from uni so I have a lot of time on my hands to-- lel jk, I’m grown. Anyhoo. I’m in my late 20’s and am looking for M// literate (advanced) rp partners, ages 25+ please. I do not fade to black or avoid mature themes. My writing style has a casual feel to it, but I use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and I prefer that you have a good grasp on this, as well. I write third person paragraph style, and am looking for someone who likes world building and writing three dimensional characters. You know what I mean. If our characters walk into a town, I want to know who else is there, how the buildings are painted, what the air smells like. Take me to it. Paint me a worrrrrrddd pictuuuuureeee. If your character has a Maserati, I want to know how he treats it, how he drives it, and if he has that kind of money, why on EARTH would a Maserati be his car of choice?

  So what I have is a bunch of ideas for weird couples, some with loose plots, others with none at all. I’m looking for someone to plot with. Even if none of these characters take your fancy, or the stories, but it looks like we think along the same lines and might get a whole new story with new characters together, contact me anyway. I only bite if you have dumb ideas. (Hard.)

  Characters/Plots:

  Made for one another:

Could fall under sci fi, apocalyptical, dystopian, adventure, hell it could fall under all of them. I have a really loose idea for this one. Two characters are genetically made for one another. Not romantically, but as in two parts that make up a whole. Both are genetically engineered to do something different, but both of their abilities need to be combined for whatever final outcome to happen. (The outcome being what they were created for.) Reasoning behind this was that maybe one person having both abilities, or the one ability that the both of them make up, would overload their system and kill them. Or significantly harm them in some way. Thus, two genetically engineered people were created.

The loose plot I had for this was that maybe one character has escaped the facility that created them. (Escaped a long time ago, perhaps.) This facility has some major unethical and downright inhumane practices (like lab growing people.) Character A. we’ll call him, decides to destroy the place, maybe from the inside out. (Perhaps he’s some kind of mercenary or rogue whatnot, living his life in secrecy so no one from said facility finds him, blah blah.) Ever see Alien Resurrection? With that scene where Ripley goes into the lab and finds all the failed experiments?.... No? Just me? Okay. Anyway, so while Character A. is torching the place, he finds Character B, who is the only experiment alive. He can’t just leave him there to die, so he takes him with him. That’s how they meet, but I don’t have much else for a plot for this story, other than that I see Character A as being kind of an asshole so they struggle a lot and much later they discover they’re literally made for one another.

  Mad Max:

This would be sort of based on the Mad Max world (as in the 2015 movie, even though I do so love the originals) though not using any of the characters, places, or… you know, anything. The world is a wasteland, but it’s not oil/gasoline that’s the hot commodity, it’s water. The wasteland is filled with different tribes, none of them very nice unless you belong to one of them. This pairing would be a character that’s kind of like Max, a lone wolf who belongs to no tribe and wanders, and…. I dunno, I guess he would be a POW? He’s a warrior from another tribe that was captured. Character A stops (cautiously) in one of the territories to trade for water and supplies. Character B is pretty roughed up and knows he’ll eventually end up dying if he doesn’t get away somehow, so his main objective is to get Character A to trade for him. Obviously, this eventually happens. Character A discovers that Character B has something that would be useful to him (maybe it’s just knowledge of mechanics and whatnot) so he ends up trading for him. Plot twist! They end up HATING one another. And maybe Character A finds out that Character B was lying all along and can’t really do the thing Character A traded him for, however now they’re stuck together, because they’re crossing the wasteland.

  Space Pirates (Totally not nerdy AT ALL.)

I have a space captain. He’s an alien. He has a super cool space ship and a super cool crew. His species is rarely seen in this part of the galaxy, usually they are a very secretive race living in deep, deep space, that remain secluded, however Janka has been exiled, and now creates a lot of havoc and headaches for anyone he encounters. I have a real old descrip of him from… jesus, like 2010 that I haven’t updated, but I’ll send it if he sounds interesting! Anyway, he’s a sarcastic, lazy sh*tface, kinda pretty gross without meaning to be, but he’s a real loveable character. Likes blowing things up. Kind of clumsy, which isn’t the best thing for someone who’s built like he is. He’s well known in space ports all over, so he sticks to the real shady ones, where he’s somewhat popular. This character comes with an entire crew, and bonus interesting genitalia. He really needs someone to take care of him (emotionally.) Very hard headed when it comes to relationships (“What? No, I didn’t get you anything for your birthday. You said not to get you anything.”) but when he falls for someone, he falls hard.

  Steampunk Whathaveyou:

Ashby Thornton Foster is a real strange creature. Not just because he’s very proper and likes to keep a position as the head butler in a household even though he probably has enough resources to never have to work ever. He’s tall, painfully handsome, with round antique glasses, and auburn hair. Sharp tongue, but can be a little daffy if you catch him off guard. He collects frightening tea pots, has been learning how to cook for 9 billion years but his chicken stew will probably send you to the can for the rest of the night, is excellent with mechanics and spends a lot of his free time tinkering, and has read almost every book ever written but can’t remember what happened in the last chapter of the one he’s currently working on. I should mention that this character is not human. He is a specific species of being that I created myself. I’ll go into it if you’re interested, but the basics are that he has handsomely jagged teeth, large amber eyes, and claw like nails that often lead him to be mistaken as a vampire, however when he shifts out of his human form, he looks more like a sphynx cat and a lady got together. That sounds awful, but he’s actually quite exquisite. (NOT a furry. He just looks a tad strange and has interesting legs.) Ashby is very sweet natured but runs a strict household. He is well respected and well loved. This character comes with an identical twin (Molocai, who prob won’t appear) and a Soul Eater character, who sets up camp in whatever town he settles in due to being promised his soul whenever he shuffles off his mortal coil. They’re best friends. (It’s a long story.)

My oc Mohogany with Nya, they are my actual first ship because I didn't had any interest on other ships. While Nya is a jock and extrovert, Mohogany is a lazy goth who likes to nap a lot and get less interactions with people. They like to go on mission or talking about their interests or gossip about people. They are really affectionate towards each other and like raising a little sister Felicity, a neglected child with angry issues.

Her name is Mohogany and she is half oni. A total mess but a precise fighter, she didn't know who she was and when she meet Nya during the pilot, while she was captured by the skullkins, she had her first friend. Being nice to Nya during the captivity, made her think that maybe Mohogany could be good somehow. Nya started to follow her and they help saving a village by a serpentine attack and then take care of Lloyd when the ninja where in mission. When Nya became the Samurai, Mohogany took care of the stuff and cheering her a lot over being her own hero. While Nya made Mohogany see that there was more meaning than being a weapon, Mohogany made Nya see her value. During season 2 they ar always like make fun of the ninja and save them at the last moment. Was really heartbreaking for Mohogany to see her friend being taken over Overlord, who we know that it has similar power to her(in my au overlord is an ancient weapon of the oni and has the power to annihilate and absorb powers). In season 3 Nya started to have feeling for her and this made her uncomfortable because she really liked Jay, but she was confused. She open up to Cole, who is gay, and Jay saw this as Cole being in love with her(that stupid machine thing never happened or it was set to platonic soulmate). In season 4 Mohogany dissappear and she was working with Chen to discover her past because it seems to have some info, then they fight angaist the serpentine war as a trip together with Felicity(another oc of mine); she discover then that she was a war criminal. Season 5,while Ronin in seems more chill with Nya's training, Mohogany trains with her, then she join the ninja to save them in the cave, where Morro tell her that she was an awful person; before the battle Mohogany then tell to Nya that even she has powers, is the person that makes the difference(they hold hand). Season 6, after Morro's reveals, she join the pirate to use Nadakhan' wishes to know more, but then she got awful visions and decide to wish it all way(and you know what happen); when Nya die, she understand her feelings for her and actually the one to make the wish. In season 7 she seems to understand that is what now that matters and not where she comes from, but when the Time Twins reavel some bad truth, she closed herself. Mistake, her mother, incite her to fight them and save Nya and she does. But when she gets the time blades, they get stolen by Felicity who want to use them to change the past. So they are taken again by the Time Twins and Acronix use them go back in the past, use his new phone to shoot past Mohogany killing some elemental children. Mohogany fought the Anarchy war, that was before the serpentine war, and after she was deadly wounded, she used her oni power to sleep and recover, by turning into a child(The reason thebonibonly attacked ninjago in season 10 could be they were asleep I guess). This brings the ninjago citizens to help the twins without being forced. Everything goes the same, but Mohogany go help them, first by using the blade to cure Wu(but he become younger) and then stop ultimately the twins by absorbing their powers and destroy the time portal that were creating paradox(like making zane dead, poor guy). Nya understand that she should have confessed and she loved her too and crying over Mohogany s body: she will always remember her as her hero and Jay respect that by always rember the best moment of them. I always imagined her to die, but if she lived, they would be probably a power couple and maybe in a Polyamorous relationship with Jay(I like Jaya a bit too even if they fucking killed it)

Volstovic Cycle OCs ctd.- Adamo spouses

As mentioned here, it is mine and @toaslanscountry‘s hc that adamo and laure have 9 kids, with their 9 kids come a combined total of 11 people commonly known as “the spouses” aka the people the kids are married to. And without further adieu here they all are below the cut because its looooooooooooooong

1. Rory’s wife Emmeline- Emmeline was originally only known as “neighbor girl” because Emmeline lived a ways up the road from the Greylace Estate. Not within spitting distance, but close enough that they’re houses could be seen from the windows of the other. Emmeline’s parents were semi-rich snobs who were obsessed with propriety and raising Emmeline up to be the perfect wife for a noble, to the point that they would use violence to abuse her into submission. Unfortunately for them, Emmeline is a giant repressed lesbian and she happened to live down the road from Rory, an openly gay butch woman who spent years being run off by nobles whose precious daughters she was caught fingering. Emmeline and Rory hid their relationship for years, but eventually were caught by Emmeline’s parents. Em was locked in her room like Rapunzel in a tower until she could be married off,  but Em managed to sneak out and run to the Greylace estate where she and Rory begged Rook, Rory’s godfather to marry them before her parents found out she was gone

2. Jean’s wife Nina- Nina is a sex worker in Molly with a toddler daughter who for a time was left in the care of the children’s home Jean ran in Mollyedge because Nina was too poor to care for her. Eventually however, Nina saved up enough money to get her daughter back and it was then that she met Jean. Jean thought she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, and gave zero fucks about the fact that she was a sex worker. They eventually married and Jean legally adopted Nina’s daughter the same day.

3. Ivy’s “””wife””” friend with benefits Sophie- as mentioned in the previous post, Ivy is aromantic, but he has a long-term sexual relationship with his best friend Sophie, another sex worker and the godmother of Nina’s daughter. They met through Nina and Jean’s relationship and Ivy first began seeing her as a client not long after. Eventually they became good friends, then roommates, and eventually they married legally for technicalities only. That way they wouldn’t be separated by life in Mollyedge and Sophie could have the financial benefits of being married to Ivy. They never become romanitc. Ever. The end.

4. Vera’s wife- Vera met her wife while giving aid in a warzone. Her wife was a refugee who knew no Volstovic, and Vera didn’t know any of her language either. Vera ended up saving this mysterious woman from gross misconduct on behalf of some Volstovic soldiers, and decided to personally guard her until further notice. Despite the language barrier the two had obvious chemistry and grew very close. Eventually, when the area became particularly dangerous again, Vera married the woman she was already beginning to fall for in order to give her safe passage as an immigrant into Volstov away from the fighting. 

5. Natalia’s husband- Natalia and the Prince of Volstov grew close out of pure accident. He was autistic, though at the time, the word “autism” wasn’t in fashion, and he was panicking and overstimulated in the midst of a royal ball. Natalia stumbled upon him and having grown up around PTSD ridden veterans mistook his anxiety attack to some sort of post traumatic episode, so she sat down and calmed him with basic kindness and understanding. He had never experienced such a kindness and became quite attached. They fell in love, and courted for some time, before he proposed. Natalia initially rejected the offer out of fear of ruining the prince’s reputation with her skin color, but was heartbroken and changed her mind not a half hour later

6. Niall’s husband- Niall specialized in capturing unusual bodies in art, only accepting models with scars, disfigurement or obesity. He was tired of drawing porcelain, flawless, mannequins, but he’d never been so enamored with anyone than when he was sent to fetch a sack of coffee from the general store a block aways from Luvanders shop. The store was family owned, and the cashier run by a shop boy, who measured up at 6′10″ and hundred and hundreds of pounds. He was gorgeous but he thought he was repulsive and Niall made him feel otherwise.

7. Lauren’s 1st husband Lindsey- Lindsey was a thief living out of the remains of a long burned church in Mollyedge. One day as he ran from the cops with loot, he accidentally slammed a girl with crutches, Lauren, to the ground. Her brother Jean who was walking with her, enraged by the disrespect given to his obviously disabled sister, chased him down and caught him. Upon realizing that Lindsey was on the run from the Wolves and likely a punishment that outweighed the crime, Jean gave him a place in the children’s home seeing as Lindsey was only 16 at the time. Lauren visited him every day, and soon became his most trusted companion. She became the first person to know that he’d been born a girl, and his first love.

8. Lauren’s 2nd husband Viktor- Years after Lauren and Lindsey met, Lindsey had been preparing to propose to Lauren when a tall dark and handsome man named Viktor dropped into her lap. He was a bastard of a noble white father and a black indentured servant mother, disowned for the shame he brought to them and forbidden to see his mother, he was heartbroken when Lauren offered him a place to stay. Lauren was polyamorous and Viktor had nothing to lose, so he Lauren and Lindsey formed a triad relationship, despite the uneasy start he and Lindsey initially began with. He was Lindsey’s best man when Lauren and Lindsey said their “I Do’s”

9. Lauren’s wife Zaaira- One day Viktor came home one day to find that Lauren and Lindsey were both pregnant and the babies were both his. It was pure accident and luck, but there was no denying it. Lindsey adamantly refused to go to the doctor, even when he started spotting. Given this predicament, the news of Lindsey’s pregnancy reached Karakhum, carried by Malahide, Ana’s mentor of a sort. Kalim remembered his friend Mollyrat Rook, and eagerly sent his tribe’s best midwife, a woman named Zaaira, to help knowing that she would be sensitive to Lindsey’s unique situation of being a trans man having a baby. She as sweet and full of light, and by the time the babies were ready to come into the world, Lindsey, Lauren, and Viktor couldn’t imagine life without her.

10. Mags’s husband, Cpt. North Thorne- North Thorne came to Ghislain’s ship as a runaway youth, only 6 or 7 and already wanted for capital murder. He had been sold to a mob as payment for his father’s gambling debt, and he killed those who kept him captive. Ghislain sheltered him and raised him up to be his First Mate. After Ghislain died after a mortal injury in a raid on a trading schooner, North inherited his ship, Chastity’s Revenge. In his time as a youth on a pirate ship, North had seen Ghislain’s infamous godson, Mags Adamo, in passing, and when he met Mags again after Ghislain died, North was disgusted to see that Mags had become a Naval captain and a spymaster at that, in effect betraying his godfather’s memory. North seduced Mags with the intent of interrogating him or taking him captive, but Mags explained with a knife to his throat that it was a misunderstanding, that Ghislain had known about his role as a spy and approved. North let him go, and the two began a cat and mouse game of rivaling fuckbuddies before it grew into much much more

11. Ana’s husband- Ana wasn’t necessarily held back from dating because she was trans, but she was cautious nonetheless. Her intimate escapades were primarily limited to casual hookups and short flings, until she was in her late 30s, early 40s and Inglory’s airwoman in the 3rd Wave. Her husband was a goofy fellow airman, who rode a dragon of Natalia’s creation. They began as best friends and suddenly, when he saw her dressed for a ball in a sparkly blue dress meant to look like the night sky, he realized he wanted to be more than friends. He already knew she was trans and was completely supportive, so she was able to trust him full stop and if nothing else, she liked that for once there was a man in her life who was taller than her and who liked her family as much as she did. Though Laure and Adamo had both passed on by the time they married, they said their vows in front of the statues of all the Airmen who prededed them, so Laure and Adamo were truly there to see their last daughter wed after all

Harlei: After month of living off of cup noodles, anything even mildly fancier than that, chicken flavored anything is good. There are only three vegetables she even eats

Jack: Ham and pineapple and ham pizza, hate him for that if you must he likes the sweet and salty combo and pizza is great food for hangovers, not to mention that he just likes greasy food. He’s a little chubby because of this. He’s not too fond of fish or other seafood, even less after getting it on with Mirad

Nayden: Berries fresh from the forest, what he dislikes is food gone bad really, he’ll eat anything

Anze: good ol’ steak, and while he doesn’t have the luxury of being picky he’ll avoid eating too sweet

16 What does your OC smell like?

Harlei: like any expensive perfume she’s stolen, most often very floral with spice in it

Jack: two weeks old booze and motor oil. Or after a shower, love, he smells like love

Nayden: Smoke and pine, he lives in the woods and just has that as his natural scent as well, it’s quite magical

Anze: Whatever oil he uses to keep his armor shiny, smells like stress and sexual frustration

18 What are your OC’s greatest fears? Weaknesses? Strengths?

Harlei: She’s quite fearless, her weakness would be being overly confident and overestimating her own abilities, also has her jealous streak and the need to overplay anyone. Her strengths would be her confidence and her ability to think fast 

Jack: His fear is getting abandoned again, all the people he loves jst disappearing. His weakness, having no confidence or physical strength. He’s a very caring and loving person with a sense of humor, that counts as a plus yes?

Nayden: His family dying, his cousins, children, wife, his ultimate fear. he’s bit naive and too much go with the flow. although go with the flow is a good thing as well, he’s caring and he’s a real bro, best bro you could hope for

Anze: Being a disappointment for everyone, blame Andrei for this deeply rooted fear. He’s bit paranoid and very, very sleep deprived. He’s physically and mentally strong, loyal af, and very decisive

26 Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact and why?

Harlei: Hazel is very important for her, they grew up together, made their first gig together, worked together, support each other with their romantic relationships. And of course her parents are important to her too. Roben only had a bit of an impact on her, even though they never got to know each other before he was poisoned, he got her thinking.

Jack: Ellen is the most important thing for him, his brother long gone and her being the only remaining person from his family. He treasures her. I still don’t have that many characters i can think of someone only having a small impact on him ._.

Nayden: Apart from the obvious ones: Sharni and their kids, Lucas, he’s been around longer than any others from his little gang, and they grew a strong bond, sadly Lucas outlived Nayden by many years. He doens’t want to consider everyone the least important, just less impact on him, one of those people i even have manes for are Peter and Yvette, he was very inspired by them truly.

Anze: Nics was the One, it just clicked. First one outside the military or his family that was very meaningful to him. Maya wasn’t that important to him, but hearing about her death got him thinking about his own values and the situation with riedians in general

27 What kind of childhood did your character have?

Harlei: Not too traumatic, if something happened, it was her fault, but her parents tried, my god did they try.

Jack: Brotherly fights with Samuel in everything, and then staying in his smart brother’s shadow when he got to highly respected collage and he ended up a mechanic on a pirate ship at the age of 18

Nayden: He felt like an outsider most of the time, but he loved his aunt and uncle and they loved him back. And honestly, losing his uncle hurt him as much as it did for his cousins

Anze: Constant physical and mental beating, his dad wanting him to be like himself, his mother gone and all that. Andrei’s traits stuck to him for a long while and i think it’s fair to say he has PTSD, he didn’t get to be a child like his sister did

30 Do they want to get married? Why or why not? Would they ever want kids? Do they have kids? Why?

Harlei: Married? The thought has occurred to her but at that point it was too early, or too late. Kids? She can’t have her own and wouldn’t see the point in adopting since she’s not too fond of kids to begin with

Jack: After getting out of jail he would think about getting married, to whom though? No one loved him. After meeting and getting to know Mirad the thought came back, he’s just too unsure of himself to ask the question himself though, and his age might affect that as well, since he thought getting married is for young, and still feel bit unlovable at times

Nayden: Settling down with kids was one of his most wanted things. His life kept him from actually actively searching for a partner, but then Sharni came, and they got close, and they were really close of just settling down until Anze came through the door “hold a fucking moment! i mma make u a king” and there they go again. He has total four kids and three grandchildren he got to see

Anze: Since his parent’s marriage didn’t go so well most of the time he thaught it was a waste of time and energy, so were kids. And he knew he was gay from quite young age too, so he just accepted he’ll never have kids. He was very close to marrying Nics, but then one thing led to another and he lost his arm and rest is history

34 What social groups and activities does your character attend? What role do they like to play? What role do they actually play, usually?

Harlei: You can find her from anywhere where the criminals gather, she likes playing a snarky btich, wrapping others around her fingers. Most of the time she’s just an attention whore among others

Jack: The bar, usually at the front desk too, near the bartender, just chatting and trying to be cheery, but when taken too much he starts getting very emotional while trying to offer others emotional support

Nayden: Whatever gathering he must attend, he likes being in the middle of it all so his socially anxious friends don’t have to, he likes chit chatting and is just charming

Anze: Everything a military leader has to, so.. every sophisticated ball ever. He rather stands at the edge and drink some wine but he has a lot of guests to see him and has to chat with them, keeps his polite exterior to some degree, gets tired halfway through and just hits up the ambassadors to let him leave

44 How does your character react/ accept criticism?

Harlei: ‘ok bitch how bout ya do this instead, trust me on my methods or fuck off’ so… badly i guess

Jack: just nods and tried better next time, if he even dares to try

Nayden: Quite well, it’s part of life yes? Improve yourself

Anze: noted… but will think of ways to improve, will consider your suggestions if they make any sense

Fear TWD - New Rant!

Jebus help me, I’ve been on another hate watch of Fear The Walking Dead.  Season two was on as background the last few days, and I’m sad to say that it’s just as awful as it ever was.  Let me bullet out my internal screaming.  Be advised, this is a pure hate post, so if you enjoy the show, you do NOT want to read this :)

First up, Travis’ son, even bigger jackass than he was before.  I mean it was bad enough with his teen angst emo shit while the world was still turning.  Now he’s like the shittiest OC fanfiction character you can imagine, yet, “professional” writers, are scripting his words and actions.  Season two starts and he is clearly supposed to be the “Carl” of their group, running off when he’s told to stay in one place, taunting walkers, killing people just because he now can kill people.  But oh wait, Carl was fucking TEN!  This kid’s like sixteen.  Then by episode six, literally the only ‘personalized’ trauma he’s suffered is his mom dying (and it wasn’t even a big dramatic, torn apart death, she just got bit) and he’s gone full Shane??  He’s watching Madison get attacked, and then threatening Alicia when she says she’s going to tell her mom he just stood there (shades of Shane/Dale).  And his reaction there pretty much negated the alternate theory that maybe he really did just freeze up for a second in the churchyard because now he’s actively threatening bodily harm to his step-sister.  And when Madison brings her concerns to Travis about him threatening her daughter, he starts yelling at her about how much he’s done for Nick and she’s not ‘standing by him’ now.  What?!  All she did is say this just happened, and he’s coming back with how he used to go looking for her drug addict son?  Literally, leaped over the Grand Canyon to get to that fight.  Also, Chris figuring out that everyone’s infected and they all reanimate when the die, FOUR days out into the larger Apocalypse when it took our mothership group two seasons to get there is such a cheat.  The kid didn’t earn that knowledge.  Again, it was a HUGE Grand Canyon level leap for him to suddenly just know that based on the one guy reanimating on the plane.  Given how the whole area was swarmed with the walkers and the guy was all busted up to hell, the LOGICAL assumption (based on knowledge to date) would have been that he’d been bit.  But no, he just “knows.”  Then four days later he is a complete, stone cold killer, far beyond what Shane ever became.   At least with Carl becoming a child killer (the boy in the woods) there was a serious, LONG TERM, setup for how he was becoming affected by one seriously fucked situation after another.  That was three years of the show, and a solid twelve months into the ZA.  But no, this kid, who had showed NO previous signs of ‘mental disturbance’ is now a complete sociopath.  Season 1, he’s all about trying to save Alicia when she gets attacked in the backyard, they go off and spend that day in the house trying on clothes and shit like normal teenagers, (the whole sequence was dumb, but there was nothing ‘sinister’ about it), season two starts and he’s telling Madison how she’s his mom now, and then we get to (what I’m guessing on original airing) was their back end of episodes and he’s totally fucked in the head and Travis is all, “oh I missed the signs!”  Yeah, dude, we ALL missed the fucking signs!  BECAUSE THEY WEREN’T THERE!!!!!!!!  The writers just decided, “oh, this will be a good twist!” and they just did it.  Again, like the shittiest piece of fanfiction you can imagine.

Next up, they ruined the only unequivocally solid, smart, decisive character they had from season one, the girl on the airplane who wanted to kill the infected guy before he turned.  We catch up with her post plane crash in a life raft with three other people.  One of them is fried to a crisp, has zero chance of survival because again, fried to a crisp, middle of the ocean, post civilization.  She then proceeds to kill everybody else on the raft who is perfectly healthy to keep this one kid alive who is begging her to let him die.   Then they turn her into a full blown revenge driven avenger who wants to kill Travis because STRAND, dumped her off in the middle of the ocean.  “You put us in the life raft.”  No, you dumb ass, you put YOURSELF in the life raft, he tied it onto the yacht to save you, and then some OTHER asshole set you adrift.  Zero, zero, zero, logic to justify this plot point.  

Madison.  The woman playing the Mom still can’t emote worth a fucking damn.    Resting Bitch Face is only supposed to be a thing when your face is resting. When you’re expressing, “Fear,” “Happiness,” “Rage,” “Concern,” etc., etc, your face should do other things.  Loud talking, does not emotional expression make.  And they’re trying to pretend like four days into free roaming the ZA, she’s like season five Carol, Michonne and Maggie all swirled into one.  Because you know, her experience as a high school guidance counselor definitely prepared her to be taking on a fleet of fucking PIRATES!!   These are not people with months of hardcore survival experience, they were in the locked down, protected by the fence and government, neighborhood for the entire breakdown of civilization.  Just like with Chris not earning his Psycho Shane stripes, she has not even come close to earning that degree of badassery.  And don’t even get me started on her and Strand getting trashed drunk on hard liquor and yet still taking on a full room of walkers.

Mexico. Cool idea to have a totally fresh location, and I get how somebody in the writer’s room was all tickled pink at being able to write about ‘reverse coyotes’ smuggling Americans over the border for hardcore cash, but they sort of missed a key glitch there you know, BECAUSE THE WORLD ENDED!  Like two episodes earlier we find out that everything for sure, from Vancouver (Canada!) down through San Diego, (America!) is freaking bombed to shit, and what’s left of the U.S. Coast Guard responds to all requests for assistance with, “sorry, we can’t help you, nobody’s coming,” but somehow, the Mexican Border Patrol, is still a freaking thing!   Like anyone still showing up to work week three of the ZA wouldn’t have been immediately overrun and torn to shreds. That was so stupid that I literally said aloud, “wait, what are you paying for?!”  So yeah, this reverse smuggling would have been a fun twist five weeks earlier in their world, back when governments still, ‘existed.’  *eye roll*

Strand, I had no problem with the jaded and focused on survival thing, but the cutting that raft adrift in the ocean was a serious line to cross for his personality.  Those people weren’t on the boat, they were no threat.  Towing them to the shore was the right, easy, thing to do, because even if the kid had turned, they could have cut the rope then, so basically it was one hundred percent sociopathic to do what he did.  But of course the next episode we find out his big mystery, which is literally, that he’s gay.  Like it’s the 1950s or something and seeing him kiss this rich dude who we thought was going to turn out to be a drug dealer (the way they were setting it up anyway) was going to be all shocking or something.  Then, almost INSTANTANEOUSLY, now he’s just portrayed as “normal” and “likeable” and he and Madison are buds, because now we know what his driving force was to get into Mexico . . . to find his boyfriend.  Which means now is the point where we just forget that he dumped those people in the middle of the ocean to die for absolutely no reason.  Again, perfect example of what is so wrong with the writing on this show.  They don’t know how to portray people as “real.”  They write things like a kid would write them, “oh this sounds cool,” with no forethought of whether or not it makes any SENSE.

The whole thing with the compound in Baja.  I could have gone with that as being just ‘the way things were, that the mistress of the place had just decided that this was some sort of religious resurrection and all that, except, they then explain how she poisoned the Eucharist(?!) and actively murdered an entire parish full of families for no apparent reason.  People are dropping dead left and right as it is, you didn’t need to be helping shit along.  And if you are all into the idea that this is a great spiritual shift to a new type of human existence, then off yourself first, lady!   Offing everybody else just makes you a serial killer!   Then the great twist there for me was it turned out she was just the freaking housekeeper!  I thought the lady collecting the guns at the gate was the head housekeeper, but no, the woman who is murdering and setting out decrees and slapping the shit out of Strand is just the damn housekeeper.  I thought she was the boyfriend’s mom, (shit at least had some logic to it then), but now she’s just the help!  I mean, I’m blue collar through and through myself, but fuck if I’m going to be taking post apocalyptic shit from another working class grunt.  If she’s slapping me around and telling me off, I’m going to be, “bitch, get out of my face!”  Then her death made no sense.  She’s all about just being alive and running this compound and suddenly she just disassociates and is like, “yeah, that’s cool I’ll just feed my living human body to my dead son and all of the townsfolk . . . for NO reason!”  Again, plot twist with zero prior foundation laid down in the plot.

Alicia.  I will allow that she is head and shoulders improved from season one.   If only this had been the character we met in season one, I might now have some attachment to her.  But the way it went, I just feel like she’s somebody ‘new’ and it’s kind of too little, too late to save the show based on one character who doesn’t suck.  

Nick.  Now that he’s sober, they started the season by making an effort to make him the likeable, funny one.  Though at the same time pushing WAY to hard to put “Glenn type” lines into his mouth about saving people and all that, but okay, it’s bad writing, it’s always been bad writing and it couldn’t be more obvious that they’re just trying to pull the character traits that work from TWD, and apply them to this group of people.  Like you can SEE that’s what they’re doing, almost everybody is being molded (to the point of stealing actual lines from TWD) around somebody the writers know already works.  Then with Nick though, they totally veer off course with him coming into his own in this world to take care of the family, when he promptly ABANDONS said family, ONE day after meeting the crazy ass housekeeper.  All of his loyalties shift to this woman, and when he ‘suspects’ that his mom maybe has something to do with the compound burning down (she didn’t) he’s like yeah, fuck this, I’m leaving.  He goes off, slices up a fresh walker and smears himself in gore.  Side note, his embracing of the gore thing is weird and gross.  As an emergency survival mechanism, I get it obviously, but he’s just, “yeah, this is how I live now . . . painted in the innards of a rotted corpse.”  I guess that’s sort of kind pulled from the comics with the Whisperers, but they (from my limited wiki knowledge of that group) are just supposed to be full on crazy and assimilated with the dead people.  He’s just weird about it.  Back to my main point though, if the world ends, and you’re lucky enough that your mom and sister (who you profess to love) are still alive, you don’t just walk off and leave them.  This isn’t the world where you can take off and bum around for a few weeks, come home and move back in with your family.  World’s over.  You go off and leave your family, odds are about 99% you will never see them again.  Not just for the near impossibility of ‘running into each other’ but for the fact that your group loses a person, you make the group weaker.  So to go off and just basically leave your family to die, makes you a complete shitbag.  They then off and try to make him likeable again by having him join up with this other group where he plays with the kids and makes nice with the head guy and helps out on supply runs like we’re supposed to just be all, “oh, yeah, we love Nick!”  No!  We don’t!  He abandoned his family in a foreign country, during the apocalypse.  He’s a dick.  As I say here, for the millionth time in my rant, the writers can’t write.  They just wanted to do something new (break up the group and meet new people) so rather than doing that organically, like simply having Nick and his family get ‘separated’ in the chaos of the compound burning down (duh), they just have him make this douche move.  Why?!   All that does is take a character you spent all this time trying to make sympathetic (now that he’s not an active drug user) and ruin him.  On mothership TWD, the only person who ‘voluntarily’ left his family . . . was Merle.  He was high on meth and a known, established, douche.  Him abandoning Daryl totally fit his character.  Every other time a character went off alone, they were either exiled (Carol) or they were overrun and got separated (everyone else).  That’s how you fling your characters off to have new adventures and meet new people, all on their own.  I’ll even allow in Fear that Travis leaving his family because he had to take care of sociopath Chris was “reasonable.”   He was trying to protect the others.  Nick leaving was just asinine.

Which leads to my base issue with the show, the whole show is asinine.  I’ve now finished two full seasons and I still don’t give a crap about any of these people.  And I don’t mean, God I hate everyone, I mean, I don’t care about anyone.  Somebody dies.  Shrug.  Somebody is in danger.  Shrug. There is no impact to anything that anyone does because everything is so badly written that it doesn’t feel like I’m immersed in a world.  Nothing matters.  And it sucks because it is a cool concept to explore how the shorelines would be infested with water walkers, and hear about the whole west coast going dark (another angle on the apocalypse), and to see how these reanimations are seen as ‘spiritual’ in this part of Mexico because of this hardcore Catholicism, and I even liked having whole huge swaths of the scripts in Spanish with subtitles because I liked being able to brush up on my super rusty Spanish, so it’s just so much wasted money and time to take those concepts and hand them over to a shit team of writers.  Because I think about how truly VESTED we were in the core family by the end of mothership TWD and there’s not even the faintest of comparison from that show to this one.  Not that the mothership is perfect, they drop story lines and introduce crap out of the blue occasionally without sufficient foundation, but nothing ever so egregiously (or offensively) like I’ve seen here.  And I know, if I hate it, don’t watch it.  I’m not :)  It was a background marathon, I finished.  Though I fear that in a year I’ll be back here again bitching about season three.  Til then!  Ha, ha!  :)
