Story

The main character, Mei Ayatsuki, an ordinary high-school girl, is transported back in time to the Meiji era by the self-proclaimed magician Charlie, whom she meets on the night of a red full moon. It was a slightly mysterious Meiji period “Tokyo” where the existence of Mononoke was recognized. With Charlie’s guidance, she arrived at the Rokumeikan. The protagonist sneaks into the party and is met by historical figures such as Ougai Mori, Syunso Hishida, Otojiro Kawakami, Kyoka Izumi, Gori Fujita, Yakumo Koizumi, and Tosuke Iwasaki. Through her interaction with them, the protagonist realizes that she is a “Tamayori” and has a highly prized ability in the Meiji period that allows her to see Mononoke. Having ability changes her relationship with them… In this unfamiliar time, love affairs grow as she comes into contact with good-looking men during her daily life. Will the protagonist be able to return to her original time or…? Does love transcend time and space? How does it end?

Ok ok I'm gonna infodump to you about my Ao Ashi OC now cause..... there's no one I can talk to about my silly lil guy😔😔😔

His name is Tosuke Hayama and he's a childhood friend of Enshin cause they grew up in the same neighbourhood (but went to different schools)

Tosuke got into Tokyo Esperion the same year as Ashito and he immediately became a MENACE to everyone around him. His love language is biting but he also bites when he's annoyed. Usually people can tell the difference if it's an affectionate or annoyed bite.

But when he bites Akutsu LMFAO no one can tell the intentions. Tosuke's favourite hobby is to see how much he can get on Akutsu's nerves.

The rest of the team keeps a list on which they count the amount of times Tosuke has bitten Akutsu (the record was 20 in one week)

Akutsu threatens to rip out his teeth but...........Tosuke is just a silly guy

I am interested in how Bro managed to bite AKUTSU once, LET ALONE 20 TIMES IN 1 WEEK

That seems IMPOSSIBLE, THERE HAS TO BE A REWARD FOR THAT OML.

And kudos to Tosuke for biting him as a first-year(when did he manage to get in team A? Or did he ever get in?).

Akutsu was a text-book middle school BULLY to Ashito, so It's just impossible for me to not think of Tosuke as a prodigy that got to team A before everyone else did and somehow bit akutsu,... that's an achievement.

Also, I'm really interested as to what you think about Damian Kant???? Everyone on reddit(I wanted Ao Ashi content so bad that I had to stoop THAT low☹️) seems to be excited about his football talents and stuff, but what about his character? Bro had one of the most interesting and mysterious character introduction ever!! And he is traumatized??!?!?! Someone is cooking!!

Her name is Revenge.

Revenge is an onryō, a vengeful spirit of Japanese folklore. Her long flowing black hair and pale face match the traditional depiction perfectly, though her dress is a dark bluish-gray rather than the traditional white burial kimono that onryō are usually depicted in.

The bones(?) in her hair led me to a story from the Konjaku Monogatarishū, a collection of folktales. The story is titled "How a Man’s Wife Became a Vengeful Spirit and How Her Malignity was diverted by a Master of Divination", which I assume is more succinct in the original Japanese. It's a story about a woman who is abandoned by her husband and dies in their home, but remains as an onryō, with her long black hair continuing to grow, and her skeleton remaining whole. Eventually the husband is forced to return to deal with his dead wife, and he grabs her hair and rides her around the countryside like a horse until she collapses to dust in the morning.

Wild stuff, though I believe Revenge here is meant to be a more general depiction of an onryō than a specific character. The lack of a white burial kimono is throwing me off, but it may be that these figures are sold to a largely Western audience who associate black as the color of death and mourning, so that's what they went with. She does have a very Western-looking gravestone behind her back, amid the pile of skulls, which I think is jarring as well. I don't actually know what the target audience of these kinds of figures are though, so I could be completely wrong.

I also wanted to mention the most famous onryō, because if you've ever seen this image:

then you need to know that this is Oiwa, perhaps the archetypal onryō, from an 1825 kabuki play called Yotsuya Kaidan, which has been adapted countless times. Basically, through a series of betrayals and deceptions, the samurai's wife Oiwa is scarred and mutilated and dies trying to kill her deceiving husband, coming back again as a wrathful spirit who torments him and tricks him into committing more murders. For a reason I'm not totally sure of this very famous painting of her depicts her as a broken paper lantern spirit, notably with a distorted face and eyes from her scarring.

I'll throw in a link to the ghost story of Okiku as well because it's sad as hell and another example of an iconic onryō, though this one is more sorrowful.

Sento reacts to being shedded on by pets

Well... the only pet in his home is a Flemish giant rabbit, Tosuke, and though Fuyumi is pretty good in maintaining his fur with regular grooming he does shed a fair amount as well. So he does get covered in bunny fuzz every once in a while... though since Tosuke also knows how to swordfight with a screwdriver, he knows better than to complain lol

My Ao Ashi OC Tosuke :3 his favourite thing to do it biting people (especially Akutsu)

One of my favorite examples of Soma showcasing his ADHD side is when he tries to convince Megishima to join his cause.

He hyperfixates on his dishes that he forgoes breaks and ignores the signs of his body untill he passes out.

I guess I should also add this one as well, where he passes out from several all nighters from preparing for the Autumn Elections.

• So who’s plan was it to go to the Bowling Alley again? Of course it was Rindou. Who else would it be? OF COURSE IT WAS RINDOU. She goes inside the Elite Ten meeting room and shouts out “GUESS WHAT WE’RE DOING NEXT SATURDAY”

• ^^^^ Elite Ten members making a guess while holding up whiteboards that Rindou gave them to write their guesses on. They were all wrong. They guessed different countries. Etsuya thought it was Europe. THE WHOLE FUCKING EUROPE. Terunori thought it was China. Satoshi guessed Japan.YOU ARE IN JAPAN, SATOSHI. Nene guessed Greece. Erina guessed France. Eishi also guessed France. Momo guessed Disneyland. Not a country but it’s HER country. Megishima guessed India. SOMEI WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE VISITING ATLANTIS??????????

• Rindou told them to think more simply. They guessed wrong again. Somei, place your swordfight with neptune whiteboard dOWN. Momo thinks it isn’t cute. Momo, we really are not going to Disneyland. ETSUYA WE ARE MOST DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO THE BANK.

• Rindou finally tells them. THEY ARE GOING BOWLING. No one is excited about this. Why are they going bowling? 

• Eishi turns to Momo. Can she even lift up the bowling ball? Etsuya turns to Terunori. Can this shrimp even carry a bowling ball? Terunori turns to Etsuya. Does Etsuya have a bowling ball as a piggy bank? Erina turns to Megishima. This man can probably roll 5 bowling balls with a flick of a finger.

• Anyway without any rejection [or Rindou not allowing any rejections] they go for bowling at Saturday.

• Chaotic as heck. Even more chaotic than expected. Just like what Rindou wanted.

• Erina does not know how to hold a bowling ball. She could never get a strike. She has finally came to her terms- bowling fucking sucks.

• Etsuya disagrees with her and he somehow gETS 8 PINS DOWN? HE KNOWS HOW TO BOWL?? BOWLING AIN’T A RICH SPORT, THIS AIN’T GOLF!

• He tells Erina how to bowl and Erina is not having it. She will never touch that sport again.

• Terunori attempts and he is actually good at it. He was able to get a spare. He shows off to Etsuya. He almost throws a bowling ball at him. Etsuya wanted to drop it on his head.

• Terunori: WHATCHA GONNA DO, RICH BITCH?

• Etsuya: I’LL MAKE YOU THE FUCKING BOWLING BALL [thank you @yourmoontothenightsky]

• Satoshi stops the fight by getting the two bowling bowls and gets twO FUCKING STRIKES AT THE SAME TIME.

• Everyone pauses and he laughs and says it’s for youth.

• That wasn’t just fucking youth, he was probably possessed by a god.

• Somei: Neptune.

• Momo: No

• Nene attempts, she was able to get some pins down. Irritated by Satoshi’s win, she never stops until she gets a strike. It takes her 5 games. Everyon played along because she was upset. Once she got a strike, she isn’t playing it again.

• Somei gets a strike and says it was for the fishes.

• Momo makes Somei bowl for her, he gets another strike. It was not for the fishes apparently, it was for her.

• Megishima refuses to play because he wants to watch over the kids.

• Rindou complains about not getting a strike, but once she does, she dances in front of Erina and Nene.

• They are not happy.

• Eishi never got a strike but he was okay with it. Once he looked back, he saw a bowling ball crash a window.

• Okay, no, he never wants to come back.
