What did Nico H do to Barky??

This is specifically referring to an incident on Dec 17 2022 where Nico and Sasha were lining up for a face-off where Nico crosschecked his knee in the first period and subsequently Sasha would not start the second and would not come back to finish the game at all.

He would miss 3 games and end up playing again on Dec 29 2022, this was also after the time he came back from pneumonia so he hadn't already played in like 2 weeks so to see him out again wasn't exactly great news which only spurred on what some might call an excessive reaction, not to mention the whole "Dont hurt our Captain!"-ness of it all. Also Matthew was out with illness the game before against the Penguins and had just come back for the game against Jersey and it just felt like the team was always down a couple players due to illness or injury so to have your Captain out AGAIN made this game way chippier than it would've been for perhaps any other team.

Naturally the kitties did not take kindly to what they saw as a dirty play (despite later on Sasha reassuring media he didn't think Nico did it on purpose or that he's a dirty player) and checked him every chance they got, and then the next matchup after that.

And well, if you noticed since then kitties have specifically targetted Nico and have played him a lot harder than other Devs (because he's a great 2-way player you HAVE to play him harder but sometimes you can't help but think if theres something of a grudge there) which is why he ends up in a lot more scrums against us and I'm afraid Matthew seems to have the biggest grudge against him lol Ekky's definitely tied for like 2nd with the way he's always roughing up Devs doesnt specifically have to be Nico just /a/ Dev and it's been 2 years

An off-duty Toronto police officer was slammed with nearly half a dozen charges after he allegedly crashed into another vehicle, fled from police, and refused to provide a breath sample in downtown Toronto. 

The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 3:45 a.m., when the off-duty officer was driving his own vehicle in the area of Shuter Street and Parliament Street. 

According to police, the officer allegedly struck a parked vehicle on Shuter Street before fleeing and continuing to drive southbound on Parliament Street. 

Although police did manage to locate the vehicle, the driver didn't immediately stop for police. The driver was eventually pulled over at King Street and Sumach Street. [...]

Page 3. --- 20 Per Cent. in Texas "Pen" Have Use of One Eye Only ---- EFFECT OF MOVIES ---- Would Keep Child Out of School Until Seven Years Old ---- Dr. Henry Aronsfeld of Houston, Tex., now attending the 37th annual congress of the American Optometrio association at the Royal York, has made a survey of inmates in the Texas state penitentiary, which has led him to the conclusion that poor eyesight is an important cause of criminality in many cases. In the Texas "pen" he found that 20 per cent. of the prisoners had the use of only one eye, the other being damaged in accident or badly impaired in vision.

Dr. Aronsfeld explained that many persons, being unable to find legitimate employment on account of defective sight, were driven to under world activities.

"In one case," related the optometrist, "an incorrigible prisoner had his eyesight corrected and no longer was intractable."

Asked whether movies hurt the eyes, Dr. Aronsfeld replied, "If they do, it is the fault of the eyes and not the movies. The rapid change of depth and perspective in pictures had no effect on the normally developed eyes."

The optometrist also maintained that cross-eyes, not caused by accident or disease, might be corrected by proper glasses.

Last year Dr. Jaques flew over 12.000 miles on visual survey work among school children of eleven states, and this wide experience has led him to some interesting conclusions. For example, he doesn't believe that babies are actually able to recognize their mothers until they are six months old. "The eyes are small and un developed, so much so that the eye is unable to focus. The baby will smile at some shining object dangled before its eyes, but it cannot envision detail. The mother is just a vague shimmering figure, despite the baby's smiles.

May Cause Delinquency Dr. Jaques contended that sending a child to school before he could properly co-ordinate his two eyes often led to humiliation and loss of confidence, which in turn frequently raised problems of juvenile delinquency. "Under present practice," he said, "the child is allowed to attend school until glasses are absolutely necessary. Were attention to the eyes sought earlier, glasses might not have been needed."

Premier Ramsay MacDonald will likely lose his eyesight unless he takes the advice of Dr. Duke Elders physician to the Prince of Wales, and goes away for a month's rest, in the opinion of L. A. Swann, London, Eng., optometrist, who explained that the British prime minister was suffering from an eye disease of une known origin known as glaucoma.

Mr. Swann also pointed out that proportionately more glasses are worn in England than in Canada owing to the large amount of rheumatism brought on by English fog and rain.

Urges Tests For Drivers The adoption of the present standards of the tests conducted for the research department of the American Optometrical Association would be of inestimable value in decreasing the present enormous loss of life in automobile accidents.

Such is the belief of Dr. Edwin He Silver of Washington, D.C., chair man of the motor vision committee of the A.Ο.Α., which he expressed following the presentation of his report to the 37th annual convention of that body at the Royal York yesterday. Dr. Silver's report pointed out that in the past year motor accidents de creased for the first time in motoring history and high hopes were held for the future, but this year's statistics indicate a higher death rate than ever before.

Dr. Silver urges that a member of the motor vision committee be placed in each state capital, to be responsible for a state motor vision com mission, with members in each city With such an organization he believes that the necessity for safety vision for all motorists would be impressed on the public, as well as on all traffic officials.
