My other grip with the MK8DX Booster Pass is that there is NO Super Mario Odyssey inspired tracks, characters, or karts!
There should be a track based on every kingdom, there should be kart bodies based on the Odyssey, Jaxi, Mechawiggler, and Sherm. They should let me play as Cappy, Glydon, a New Donker, one of those snail guys, a Tostarenans, Talkatoo, one of the fork men, one of the robots from the wooded kingdom, a Shiverian, a Pokio, an Uproot, a Tropical Wiggler. They should let me play as the little UFO that looks like Torkdrift and acts like a bird in the Moon Kingdom.

This is my dream.
#Mario Kart#One of the cups is called the Moon cup and is based on a power moon but that's IT!#Actually that's not true; Pauline pulls out a microphone in some of her trick animations which references her work as a jazz signer in SMO!

"Mario, Look Out!" Peach shouts as Mario 'Jumps' over the laser rings.
"Hey, it's using those Bricks as a generator for it's shield! Let's smash them!" Cappy exclaimed as Mario does just that, knocking Torkdrift upside down!
A Wedding Crashing Odyssey
@smashingveteransandnewcomers
Today's story starts off like a lot of others in the Mushroom Kingdom. It was a peaceful day and the citizens were enjoying the weather and even chatting amongst each other. Though for the Mario Bros., they were just hanging out with their good friend from the Cosmos Kingdom, Brandon Astral. As Brandon was telling the bros about his latest adventure with his friends from Mobius, where they had to basically put together a planet sized puzzle to defeat an ancient dark deity
"Mamma Mia, that sounds absolutely crazy" Luigi said
"No kidding. I mean I heard of shaking the planet to its core, but not busting it open into seven pieces... But despite the whole incident and even having to get used to being a girl for most of that adventure, it was really fun to explore the planet in its entirety! It makes me want to do the same in our world someday" Brandon said

Played Mario Odyssey and beat it today. Decided that the mini bosses deserve some love too. Starting with the UFO alien looking thing that started it all, Torkdrift. I like to call her Teevee
Evil alien robot, botloved,,

Name: UFO? Little UFO? Baby UFO? I will call it Baby UFO
Debut: Super Mario Odyssey
Whoever decided these should be called Baby UFOs, they were right! This thing is an absolute baby that I’d like to cradle in my arms and protect. Yes, these may have previously been mentioned in our Yoofoe post, but I have decided they deserve an entire post. I love them!
Baby UFO is a little baby version of Torkdrift, the boss of Steam Gardens, but I must say, quite a bit cuter. A smaler, more compact design is bound to be cuter than the alternative, and WOW! ONE eyestalk! You NEVER see just one eyestalk! It’s phenomenal! Innovative! It inspires us all to be better people.
What are you looking at, Baby UFO? Examining the world with an intact sense of childhood wonder? Probably. Another neat thing about Baby UFO is that they contain flowers, which Torkdrift seeks to collect above all else... maybe they’re powered by the flowers, and Torkdrift is just trying to help its babies! Or... make babies. Not like THAT! The way a robot would! By assembling a baby from baby blueprints.
Oh! Now it’s looking at me! I need to make a good impression! Not so good that it thinks I’m its mother, since I am unfit, being a biped, but good enough that it would not feel threatened. To avoid threatening the baby, I will reassure it that I will NOT make any attempt to throw my hat at it in hopes of getting a Power Moon, like a certain someone might. That someone shall remain nameless for anonymity.
Ultimately, I think Baby UFO’s design is fascinating to analyze. Regular Torkdrift has a pretty great design, I dig it. But Baby UFO’s design secures it a spot on my Best Ever Characters list, alongside the likes of Pooka and Plugg! It’s all thanks to it being more simple and cute, and it may ultimately be “just” a simplified version of Torkdrift, but it shines so much on its own to me. I love this baby UFO.

For that post with the Haven from Advent of Ascension, what shader did you use? I'm looking for one that has the foliage-waving effect that's compatible with the modded foliage
I used Ziipzaaps Shaders V2 for version 1.7.10 of MC! However, it isn’t, like, automatically compatible with mods like AoA, I had to manually edit the shaderpack’s ‘gbuffers_terrain.vsh’ file and add the leaves and flowers/grass IDs for them to wave like vanilla foliage does. BUT technically it can be compatible, so there ya go ^^”

“DO NOT MESS WITH ME BIPED” is the best line of dialogue in all of Super Mario Odyssey and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

In Super Mario Odyssey, before the fight against Torkdrift in the Wooded Kingdom begins, Torkdrift is busy vacuuming up flowers and is not paying attention to Mario until Mario attacks him, which starts the battle.
If during this time, Mario throws Cappy onto the tip of the metal part of Torkdrift, it is revealed that holding Cappy there for a few seconds will produce a Heart item.

During the battle against Torkdrift in Super Mario Odyssey, a rare visual glitch may occur whereby many objects will be rendered as completely black for a few frames, leaving only the particle effects and shaders visible around them.
Top: the screen as it appears one frame before the glitch, displaying the scene normally. Bottom: the screen as it appears during the glitch.

I'd like to request a selfcare for Torkdrift from Mario Odyssey. After Mario... completely wrecked me, the wooded kingdom residents repaired and reprogrammed me to protect the flowers instead of steal them. I like stim stuff, things in of course white and grey but also the color that the residents were, things that are... robot-themed? And, of course, flowers! I would prefer no bath things and nothing edible, please.
Just posted! Have a bodacious day and remember to take care of yourself.

Name: Spindrift
Debut: Super Mario 64
Hey! Remember that post about Choppa(h) that we made a couple months ago? Well, I sure hope you liked it! And I hope you like the concept of “non-distinct plant creature with vertical helicopter blades” because... there’s a whole bunch of them! Starting with Spindrift here.
Spindrift is... An orb? With a flower head? If you bounce on them you get to do a spin-jump, which is... pretty cool, I guess. Spindrifts never reappeared beyond the DS remake, but they were in a beta screenshot for New Super Mario Bros., not to mention...

Name: Torkdrift
Debut: Super Mario Odyssey
Hey! Did you know that Torkdrift is a mechanical Spindrift?! I sure didn’t, until I was researching this post! Its Japanese name is Mekafuwafuwa-san, with Fuwafuwa-san being Spindrift’s name... so, Mecha Spindrift!
Really though, can you blame me? It doesn’t look like a Spindrift at all! Even so, it’s quite weird in its own right... Like, some kind of flower-based UFO? And do my eyes deceive me... are those eyestalks? Hooray! You just can’t go wrong by giving anything eyestalks. Anyway, you find Torkdrift in the Steam Gardens area, where he’s sucking up all the flowers for Bowser’s wedding. Their whole boss fight is based around smashing their glass container with an Uproot... once you confront them, they’ll get mad and say, in classic robot all-caps:
“FLOWERS FLOWERS FLOWERS. MUST HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS. DO NOT MESS WITH ME, BIPED.”
Which is the first time I’ve seen biped used as an insult. It... kind of hurts, honestly.
