Too lazy to redo these posts so yea reblog is enough

(updates on the knife and the coat + future plans)

So here's the knife fully done, with rivets (hammered nails) holding it together

The coat locket thing (I used a plastic headband which I sandpapered, painted gold and added little hooks )

The coats pattern (I used frisket and white acrylic)

Lil quipus I made with wool for the suit

And for the rest;

-tomorrow I'll work on the odradek with my stepdad

-i started sculpting a mask using whitemorph plastic but it's really hard so I'll see if I can use a mold or something

-i have an idea for the armour, based on a belt + suspenders, I'll put fabric around some polystyrene/foam and it should work fine

-idk how to make Amélies necklace :(

-idk if I'll make a tutorial for the Odradek bc it'll be a bit complicated so I'll just send some pictures of the process if it works out

So I made Higgs' cloak by hand :)

I looked on the web for long and never found any guide do I thought I'd make it myself

I'm going to make a full cosplay of Higgs but I'll update this post or reblog it as it goes :3c

Anyways here's how I proceeded for the cloak

So first of all : I didn't use the model from the game because it would've been to hard to remake and probably wouldn't work ;

Here's the in-game shape

It's basically a square of fabric that is held back by his Odradek, you can guess with how the hood is part of the cape

And here's my edited version

Im not an experienced cosplayer or sewer so I went for something that wouldn't move too much, by separating the hood and the cape (and made the two points symmetrical because I thought it was prettier )

In total I paid 45€ for all the fabric I used :

2×2 metres of duchess satin for the outside (it has a nice reflection effect and it's solid enough it's great!!!)

2×2 metres of simple cotton fabric for the lining

And 0.05×15 metres of golden ribbon

So first of all I made a pattern our of newspapers and adhesive tape;

I wanted it whole in order to try it on on my shoulder but half is probably enough

Measurements were 120cm for the horizontal length and for the vertical it depends on your height and how you want it (mine is 130cm and goes down to below my knees, I'm 175cm tall)

I cut the main fabric (duchess satin) to try it on and adjust as needed

Then I cut the hood shape in the main fabric (it's easy to find patterns online if you want a specific shape )

Sew both hood sides together only for the back and top of the head !!

Hi YES i'd love to see ur ver of law! ((And if i werent shy af id also love to share mine (prob might just slide into ur dms w this one c.c))) If it happens it's gna be pretty underwhelming tho. my plan so far is zou-time law (sans kikoku) bc i think it's the only outfit i can try to pull off ahhh, if even that.

So im currently looking around the secondhands for a white baseball cap (it's so hard to find one without some text on it? Jfc. But ye gna put spots on it w a marker); a black dressshirt; jeans that i might also paint with spots but tbh im too scared ill ruin em (and i only have one pair of blue jeans xD i wear black usually); +plus i'll buy some facepaint n do the tattoos!!; The only one thing i actually have so far at the ready is a black wig, purely by chance. Idk if ill manage the rest in time ahhh.

Whats funny is that im gna be at that con for around 3-4hours tops, and my only motivation to do law is because i wanna let ppl know that i wanna talk ab him asffghjjkl (tho i might be too awkward to actually hold a convo lmao thatll be funny. In and out.). My whole idea w going to that con started actually PURELY bc im deeply hiperfixated w law rn (and by 'right now' i mean 'for the last two months', ever since i read the most recent spoiler regarding him n drowned in the fandom again ahah), and im having a very minimal outlet socially ahh. The next anime-related con i could attend would be in winter.. i dont wanna wait that long..

bestie there's no such thing as underwhelming cosplay!! it's either you do or you don't and if you do? you already deserve a star bc at least you tried! ⭐ I know how some people are very particular and want it to follow their character design to a perfect t but you also need to consider time and resources for it. some people can afford to buy expensive props while others have to make it from scratch and I think that's the fun part of cosplaying that is lost these days. you have to get crafty ^-^

ashjkl also mildly related to this I love watching hijabi cosplayers getting creative with their costumes whilst covering themselves properly. I think I'm gonna take a leaf out of their book and wear my yellow blouse and make it a modest version of law so I don't have to draw all over my chest lol. I recently cut my hair to a short wolf cut and it's naturally black so that part is settled too :] don't paint on your jeans, though!! it's pretty risky. maybe buy a black cloth duct tape and cut it into small round shapes and paste it on? that's what I'm planning to do to my jeans too hehe

and I feel you on wanting to talk about your fav character with other people!! honestly I can't shut up about luffy even for a second. I went to a concert with another tumblr mutual recently and one piece was all I talked about lol. but since I'm a big lawlu believer I can't help but love torao too 💛

👾 - Fave villain? - Katakuri! I think he’s adorable and the similarities to Luffy are so interesting, I hope we get to see him again (also I want to cosplay him…). Though I think Kaido might be a contender, I can’t wait to know more about him as Wano goes on. 

😭 - Saddest scene? - God, how to choose only one? Both Sanji and Torao’s backstories are a nonstop pain train, Torao’s especially left me depressed for a couple of days when I saw it in the anime so I’m gonna have to go with that I think. Also there’s a reason why I don’t post much of Ace and that reason is that thinking about him at all hurts me.  

⏰ - How long have you been into One Piece? - I got into it when I was 15 because I heard about the notorious 4kids dub and saw a video going into the differences and how badly they fucked it up. I started watching the anime first and fell head over heels with it. I fell out around the time Fishman Island was airing and I lost interest in it for about 6 years, then I saw SuperEyepatchWolf’s videos on the series recently and remembered how good it all was. Now I’m in it til the end X  

👂 - Favorite quote? - “When the world shoves you around, you just gotta stand up and shove back.” - Zoro. I don’t remember when he said it, but it’s really cool. Also “No-one is born to be alone” really hit me hard. And it’s not particularly inspiration but Sanji’s “Guess he didn’t want dessert.” sends me fucking rolling every time.
