top 9 of 2019

i got married this year.

that’s something i didn’t know i’d be doing back in 2009 on the eve of my next decade of existence, but it’s something that i’m still so excited about and i can’t wait to see what the 2020′s hold for me and my wife.

i also lost my grandfather very unexpectedly earlier this year. it’s been weird to experience the holidays without him by my grandmother’s side and even thinking about setting off fireworks tomorrow night and eating collared greens on the 1st is something i’ve been avoiding altogether. i thought --- maybe, perhaps, definitely --- that i knew what death was and what that specific kind of bittersweet melancholy that comes from not being able to talk to them, just one last time, just to hear their voice feels like, but then it was christmas day and my grandmother was giving everyone a teddy bear with the outside material made from his favorite shirts and it’s a reminder that this year has tested me, challenged me, brought me to my knees in tears, and utterly astounded me with the beauty and wonderment that can only come from looking my wife in the eyes and knowing that i have someone and she has me.

it’s a recollection of how this decade has transformed me from an even more baby faced teen boy into a 26 year old married man and that there’s still so much more to be done and to be seen; so much music to listen to and sing along with, so many more hot chocolates to drink and cream cheese pound cake to eat, and so much more time to love on my wife and hold on to her and the rest of my family because life is not promised and should not be taken for granted.

so, this is what i plan for the new year and beyond; to the seconds that turn into months that turn into years that turn into the countdown of “1, 2, 3″ to 2030:

get as close to being debt-free as possible

work on being and staying healthier

remember the buddy system and that even if me and ashlee are having an argument that we still love each other so damn much

move into a house (and/or onto family property)

have and raise a child (with lots of love)

“finish” my physical and legal transition insofar as one can actually complete that sort of process tbqh

get back into using photoshop and coding

get and stay in therapy smh

help my family and friends in whatever way that i can, especially if i can ever give back to my parents for all of the assistance that they’ve given me over the years

write more frequently

that’s about all i have as it’s getting late, but i hope you have all had a fantastic holiday season and that you have a joyous, bright, and successfully happy new year and entire decade starting from 2020 forward!

Joining the bandwagon because I was curious and HOLY MOLY YOU ABSOLUTE DARLINGS! This year has been a big roller coaster of ups and downs but the biggest thing I gained was love and growth. I pretty much doubled the amount of likes and gained several thousand new followers and quite a few new friends. I started live-streaming for the first time this year and even had one drawing go viral. I cannot WAIT to see what we can do together next. Top nine for 2019. This is my first full year on Instagram and it has been an amazing experience to publish my work and to see all of the beautiful work by other IG artists.
