throwback to the time I first opened the grunt household and within MINUTES tank and ripp were beating the shit out of each other

I didn't realize anything was going on at first because Buzz and Buck were playing catch or something outside and I was like "aww that's so sweet". And then out of nowhere they both just dropped it to go stare at the boys and hide, respectively. Nice going, jackasses, he was actually being a decent father for a second and you distracted him by trying to cave each other's skulls in.

Anyway Ripp won somehow which I really wasn't expecting but then he broke down crying on the lawn anyway so idk what happened. Next few days were spent trying to keep them away from each other so they didn't break each other's necks and they both started spiralling. Ripp snuck out with Ophelia and came home in a cop car at like 4am on a school night. Tank's fun need was never full no matter what I did with him. Neither of them would do their homework. Nobody in the house would make dinner. General Buzz was just never home and when he was he was yelling at people or reading alone in his room.

Buck brought home a friend from school (and played tag in the house with her, which I feel like Buzz wouldn't have appreciated, were he not at work still because I accidentally got him demoted the first day 💀) and I thought "oh yeah friends exist" and I invited some people over in a desperate attempt to fix the older siblings. Ripp WAS chilling with Ophelia and Johnny until Tank showed up out of fucking nowhere to go kick the shit out of Johnny. He cried on the lawn too and left (sorry bro). I lost Ophelia for like 4 in game hours, turns out she was just standing in the upstairs bathroom the entire time, completely oblivious to the gladiator brawls that were going on outside.

These fellas are nuts, they keep rolling really depressing wants. Buck just wants to play with his father. Ripp keeps begging me to get him an mp3 player for some reason. Tank got so fucked up and miserable all he wanted was a ham sandwich. One of his fears was having a bad relationship with his father. The others were about Buzz dying. Buck got obsessed with the fish in the living room as some kind of weird coping mechanism. I don't think there's anything even in there, he might just be staring wistfully at the glass. Everything in the house is gross. Everyone hates each other. Ripp's always tired and Tank is always bored and Buck is always eating leftovers off the counter and it's just horrible honestly. I haven't seen a more dysfunctional household since the Curious brothers kept leaving their babies outside in the rain.

i love gourmand i promise. they're just,, so bad to play as... im not patient enough to play them at all let alone replay the whole campaign 💔 i would probably enjoy their story more if i did but i just cant bring myself to i’m sorry

btw for hunter, monk, and survivor i am only talking about vanilla. i don't care for playing them with mods (often at least). also the outer expanse endings would go in the good tier if they were on here. they're cool just nowhere near as good as the ascension endings

i would've made another list for my character ranking,, however i love all of the characters too much. it would just be two tiers with survivor and spearmaster on top and everyone else second lmao.

i want to make it absolutely clear that im not speaking from an 'i'm edgy and purposefully being dismissive of emotional story beats' perspective. believe me most of the time i have a hard time forcing myself to select dialogue options that might hurt the feelings of a fictional character that doesn't actually exist; stoic I am not.

it's just that there is literally no fucking reason that I have to be emotionally invested in a single one of the characters in SMT V and the story does not, apparently, realize that. it thinks it has me absolutely drowning in the pathos of it all when some shit happens to some clown ive seen on screen for 2 minutes and heard from for 2 seconds, not realizing that it is at best a mild irritant and at worst causing me to actively avoid progressing at times because my eyes are tired and I don't want to strain them further with eyerolling of the degree that the narrative warrants

animal crossing new horizons isn’t a bad game because people played it too much during quarantine and expected more from it than they should’ve, it’s a bad game because it’s a half assed animal crossing game that doesn’t have nearly the charm, items and ability to build relationships with your villagers that the other games do.

and the fact that they’re done updating it means this is all we get. we waited so long for another animal crossing game and they released one that wasn’t finished upon launch and still isn’t finished to this day. that’s why it’s a bad game.
