bear with me but the tlh trio being antagonists would have been leagues more compelling. especially over the canonical unfinished arcs they received by the end of the series.

piper being capable of having it all and getting anything she wants but unable to understand why she cannot receive the exact kind of love she’s always craved hence having to force people to give it to her. piper has arguably the most evil-coded power of them all: she can force people to do things they’re unwilling to do. even the gods are not exempt from this. to have that much power and not be corrupted by the ease the world affords her as a neglected child ... piper having to satiate her simultaneous desire and abhorrence of love with her ability to demand it by force.

leo canonically being a failed experimental homebrewed hero by hera (watching over for him as a baby, leaving snakes in his cradle a la hercules, overall obsession about him she never even had for jason, who had been offered to her) and having his mother die in conjunction with the narrative he was being forced into by an ancient force planning around his future. which is akin to a chosen one origin story but flipped on its head because canonically by book 1 leo has little heroic empathy and nobleness that percy holds and holds in his heart every grudge against every single person who has ever slighted him. can name them all. hates humanity and prefers his machinery. and has a negative view on the world that never cared for him. because why should he care when the only one who’s ever cared about him burned in his own flames.

jason, little obedient child soldier who does everything he’s told because it’s all he’s been taught. he’s charismatic in leading but not because it comes naturally. everyone who has ever admired him adored what he’s built his character to be like. jason has no real sense of self + no desire to find it because what is the point when that’s not what this world needs from him. and so badly he needs to be needed. piper in moa met hercules, vain and selfish and bringing everyone down with him and thought: “A hero couldn't control the gods, but he should be able to control himself. Jason would never be like that.” because jason is control incarnate. and he can control himself until he can’t. until he realizes he’s owed the the world enough. and the world owes him now.

Listen, I am an extremely sex positive person and there is little I like more than a good old fashioned "idiots fuck around and fall in love" smut fic, but I feel like there just isn't enough exploration of Astarion falling in love through feeding on Tav. Like, seriously, the man has been subsisting on rats and insects for two hundred years, and the first person he ever feeds on just...lets him do it? Willingly? I mean it's not exactly a surprise that Tav has to practically throw him off to get him to stop - it's not just that their blood is the best meal he's ever had, but he's never bitten anything with the intent to let it live before.

And then it has to go off the rails so fast for him if Tav lets him do it again. This man who has had everything stripped from him for so long now having this person who's willing to actually give him part of themselves to keep him fed and happy. Like, he outright tells you this is a gift you're giving him, one he surely did not expect to ever receive again, but now he's watching them stagger off to the healers in the morning for a lesser restoration before they even bother to stop at the fire for a cup of coffee, and all he can do is marvel at the sheer novelty of the situation, because to examine it closer, to really think about someone being selfless enough to give him what he needs for no other reason than that he needs it might send him into a spiral of paranoia.

And then for that to become habit. Coming to their bedroll as quietly as he can, learning to gentle his bite to something less feral, something more easily controlled. It's slower this way, careful and measured to make sure they don't wake, and he's sinking a little more into that embrace every night.

Also one reason Bauhauzzo really speaks to me is how he takes in the beauty of the world. Of being alive. Not just natural beauty like sunsets and sunrises, but the beauty of human effort and interaction.

I get choked up all the time thinking of ancient manuscripts with cat pawprints on them, graves someone 400 years ago made for their faithful dog, stick figures with far too many fingers made by bored kids centuries past.

Humans have always been and will always be humans, and there are dark sides to that, but it's not all doom and heartache. Bauhauzzo talks about authoritarian-worshipping goosesteppers, but he also talks about the joys of innovation. He fondly remembers Cobigail's acts of fun and kindness alongside her pranks. He waxes poetic about how someone went to all the effort of breeding a blue rose, a thing that does not exist in nature. He remembers the light of the flames of war on the water in the same paragraph as he remembers the scent of a loved one's home-cooked meal.

I've said it before but what makes him such an excellent God of Memory and History is that he understands the past, he remembers it, but he doesn't live in it.

I haven't gotten all his anecdotes yet, but I did get the one about the Spire, and I think it's really characteristic of him. He remembers its lifetime fondly - he asks you to kiss the doorway. But he doesn't say, "everything is ruined forever until it is restored to its former glory". I don't think he'd be opposed to its restoration, necessarily (depending on the why of it, given how BuzzHuzz goes), but he acknowledges the movement of time and accepts the present, while still maintaining a fondness for the past. The Spire conversation opens with him talking about loving one's home, and I think the reference to Marie Kondo's system of Sparking Joy is deliberate. Keep what brings you joy, but you don't have to hold on to things just because they were once important to you.

Bauhauzzo loves and acknowledges and embodies the past, but never truly lets it hold him back. He understands that the present, and the future, are as important to History as the past. He doesn't want the world to stop, even if he feels a bit of nostalgia from time to time. He knows that's a natural feeling, and he might be a bit culpable for the BH situation, but it was never his intention. He was deliberately taken advantage of by the very people who claimed to be there to help him, and the very first thing he asks of you is to help him right this wrong.

Bauhauzzo is great.

sometimes a musical just needs to be a mismatched pair of guys who love each other and share an ambitious goal and the timid sidekick character winds up taking the lead and/or betraying the more outgoing one and they have a falling out and maybe they come back together or maybe they don’t and they are tempered by a woman who is smarter than both of them and odds are she winds up with the nerdier timid sidekick character but absolutely does not wind up with the more outgoing leading man. also there is a show or performance within the show and it backfires

Hello everyone! I got bit by the nostalgia bug from doing and seeing everyone's 2024 GPOSE Wrapped sets so I decided I wanted to throw all my own shots into a ring and make them fight for a spot in a top 10 round-up for my personal favorite shots I've taken all year. So without further ado I present to you:

Honestly any one of the four Pride themed shots could've gone on this list since I still like all of them but Lyra doesn't show up anywhere else on this list (sorry sweet bean bun) so she can be my rep for this set. This whole set was just so much fun to do!

This shot I got by pure chance since I have idle cam on and it just happened to focus on my ErenviIIe retainer standing in my yard at the perfect time of day to capture this moment. I liked it so much I had to hop into gpose and get a proper shot of it. I used this one as my desktop background for a good while.

I can't believe I made an alt to go to an Eternal Bonding and ended up falling in love with them and creating an entire backstory and lore for them yes I can. While this one didn't turn out exactly as I had imagined it in my mind, I'm still pretty happy with it.

This shot is one of my earlier ones from this year. It's also one of my simpler shots. It ends up being this high on the list despite it being less impressive than some of the ones it beat out because it's probably the shot that really kicked off my love for gposing. This is also the shot that I felt was the point-of-no-return in my own mind for them as a couple.

This was another one of those test shots that I do pretty often. I had a concept in mind going into it that I still intend to use in a future set, but this was almost just a happy accident as I meant to get a different shot at the time but I can't help staring at him face sometimes...

From ErenWoL week. I ended up really liking the mood of this shot, but also I liked that I got to include both Lumi (X'vahl's chocobo) and Flag snoozing soundly beside the fire with them as well.

This is @ambalambs boy Miko! I really just absolutely adore him and I had this idea kicking around my brain for a while before I finally asked if I could pose the shots from this set. I am so happy with how they turned out and I'm glad that Lambs trusted me with her boy! ♥

The Combat Couple AU. I like ErenviIIe best as a non-combatant, but sometimes it's fun to think of what-if situations. For instance, "What if we kissed in the shared tankbuster?" (つω⊂* )

I am still just so happy with how this turned out! I love how the colors turned out (even if this shot doesn't have the rainbow that I waited almost an hour to come back in it OTL) Posing all the pixies whisking Feyrn away, maybe to a happier storyline. (╥ ᴗ ╥)

So what could possibly beat out this shot? (╭ರ_•́)

This is my absolute favorite shot from this whole year! I love the lighting, I love the pose, I love the way they're making eye contact, I love that I finally got the hat thing to work! I'm actually still using it as my desktop background. It'll be a challenge to get a better shot in 2025, but I'm excited to see if I can!

This was the first year that I really put myself out there and delved into gposing so I'm overall pretty happy with what I've done in my first year of doing it. But since this is my first year really getting into the gposing side of the community, it's also allowed me to make friends with lots of really incredible gposers out there who are doing some crazy impressive stuff and seeing their work always serves as an inspiration to me to keep learning and doing better myself.

I'm not going to make this into a tag game, but if anyone else feels like doing a personal countdown of your own work feel free to tag me in it. I'd love to see them!

The kitchen is done & I have finally taken some pictures. Images on the left are from our initial house viewing (rows 1 & 2) or from the kichen right before we tore it out. Removing those stunted Ls on the ends of the galley has made the kitchen much better. Somehow we have more cupboard space and more floor space, which probably indicates that the original kitchen was cursed.

Long-suffering mutuals who know that yellow is not my favorite color might wonder about the yellow cabinets. We decided it was the best light-ish color that also looked good with the dark wood counters. Cream was too plain and too light (and inevitably filthy on lower cabinets), green was either too dark or too pasty, grey was dreary, brown also dreary, orange looked mental (as did red), the available blues didn't go with the stove, etc. etc. until I was like 'yes, sure, yellow OK whatever I give up.'
