Anti public defender sentiment NOW of all times has GOT to be a psyop and I’m not being hyperbolic
#one thing I have never understood about this dumb dumb mindset:#I assume the people advocating for it want guilty people in jail/prison#and they want them to stay there#one obvious way to help ensure that outcome is a robust defense#because that decreases the possibility of appeal/overturn/etc. resulting from inadequate defense#if you're found guilty after receiving a good defense it's more likely to stick#so these dummies should actually be advocating for quality legal defense#but instead they're out there carrying on about someone else getting something they think is undeserved#which is of course the true rallying cry of the conservative idiot
