cannot stop thinking about them so here’s some atsulucy headcanons <3

Atsushi will always scope out the toy section of thrift or second-hand stores for dolls and such for Lucy. at first, he always got her the prettiest doll he could find. but then he invited her to come along with him one time and saw her immediately gravitate towards the ugliest and wackiest looking doll there was, and ever since that’s the kind of doll he’s gifted her

in a similar vein, Atsushi tries his best to spoil her the same way he spoils Kyouka. he can’t afford anything fancy, but he’ll always pick her up some candy or a fun drink when she’s feeling down, and she’s got a little kitty keychain from him that she absolutely adores

Atsushi introduced Lucy to chazuke, and in turn Lucy introduced him to a lot of American and Canadian foods, like hashbrowns, poutine, and bannock.

Lucy picks up so many shifts at the café that she’s damn near working a 9-5. the only one to ask her why was Kunikida, and she immediately went red and demanded he never speak about it again. he didn’t need any more than that to get his answer.

the manager of Café Uzumaki is very very protective of Lucy, and is extremely happy that of all the guys out there, she met Atsushi.

that being said, Atsushi is a decently dense idiot sometimes, bless him, so he’s entirely oblivious to the incredibly obvious hints that Lucy constantly drops (aka defending him against actual terrorism accusations.) both the rest of the café staff and detectives have to watch in agony as Atsushi’s carries on about his day, completely unaware of how fat a crush Lucy’s got on him.

Atsushi’s venting about how he totally doesn’t have a chance with her romantically, meanwhile Jun’ichirō is white-knuckling the desk trying not to call him a fucking moron.

their confessions would definitely be incredibly awkward ngl. neither are the best with words, and Lucy tends to get a bit too brash when being vulnerable. so it’d probably be one of those sorta angry confessions followed by Atsushi going “?? wait you have a crush on me too???? why didn’t you tell me sooner!!! ( ^ω^ )”

it’s not Atsushi isn’t competent. he’s just not exactly used to romantic relationships, and there’s also a big difference in Japanese and American/Canadian courting culture, for lack of better terminology.

i feel like Lucy would try to better her relationship with Kyouka as well, but only through doing things like making sure her usual order is ready by the time she and Atsushi come downstairs for their break. tragically this woman can’t do anything with proper subtly so instead she places her drink down with a bit too much force and then asks Atsushi his order with maybe a bit too much aggression.

Lucy learns how to make the pastries and sweets and drinks that Atsushi loves really well, so that she can be the one making his orders one day.

they would absolutely have dates in parks and gardens and such. little picnics that end up with wildflowers weaved into Lucy’s braids. lounging under shady trees with Atsushi’s head in her lap. absolute saps, the two of them

in conclusion i love the two of them dearly and i have not stopped thinking about them for a damn long time

The distant sound of waves, and bubbling foam with every splash that lapped against the shore. It flowed against your ankles, dragging the sand with it. Warm.

You tilt your gaze up, and catch sight of the white clouds, only floating lazily above. It felt like a summer trance, where the sun was too bright, and skin too sweaty. Maybe for a moment, you could pretend you were somewhere else.

But before you could even close your eyes, the voice of a familiar captain slips through your sweet daydream.

"[name]!" Ryusui calls out, trudging through the border that fades from grass to sand. Surprised, you snap out of it, acknowledging him back politely.

"Ryu. Hi," you mutter, staring back at the sea. "I thought you were busy with the ship."

The blond hums, slowing his pace. "I was, but I also came to check on you," he places a hand over his peaked cap. "I was wondering where our favorite singer went."

You shoot him a weak smile. "Just taking a break from the others. You know how I am."

He huffs, amused as he stops by your side, enjoying the view. "Some of them are quite the character, aren't they? I think I can still hear Taiju's battle cry from here."

"Like," you snort, "like you aren't as loud."

"True. I am. Does it bother you?" He grins.

"No, no. Of course not," you shake your head, smile turning shy. "I don't really mind if it's you."

"Ooh, very biased, aren't you?" his tone lilts teasingly, "I must be special."

Flushing, you brush it off, hand coming up to rub at your neck. "When are you not, really," you mumble.

"Is this a confession?" Brown eyes gleam, gaze lain on you.

"Wha-" your face erupts in an embarrassed red. "Now that's just too direct!" you sputter out. Goodness. You've always loved his honesty, but it's the bane of you sometimes.

"You're very special to me too, [name]." The corner of his lips quirk, as his expression grows cheeky. "Very much so."

Blush dying down, you shake your head, "No. No, I meant it in a different way." Feeling a little ashamed, you look elsewhere from him, turning your sight back to the sea. You focus on something else, like how the warm water envelops the shore in frothy patterns.

Sand crunches as he shifts. Maybe you should've redirected the conversation to something else. The momentary silence prods at your nerves. Was he basking in the sun?

"You know I like you, right, [name]?" His voice is oddly placid, taking you by surprise. However, the compliment is quick to slide off you.

"I know, I know. The whole 'beautiful creatures' thing." Memories of his little speech come to mind, and you chuckle in humor. Eyes follow the distant sight of seagulls far into the sky.

"That's true, and I don't take back what I said," he replies, and takes a step forward. "But I desire you."

A skip of a beat. Yet, it's so easy to brush off, as you've always done. An awkward laugh bubbles out. "Ryu, I-"

"Je t'aime. Jeg elsker dig. Te amo," he steps close, taking your attention in a bold move. Grabbing your chin, he turns your face towards him. "Ik houd van je, I love you."

Finally, you get to see him in all the sun's glory. A determined gleam in his eyes, honed in on you. Any words you planned, dried out out on your tongue.

"I believe I've made myself clear," he says, oh so casually. For a moment, you stare, shocked, and speechless. Reply, reply, you need to reply, or anything- answer him!

"...I didn't know you could speak Swedish."

...Damn it.

Ryusui chuckles, letting go of your chin. "It's hot out here! How long have you been standing?" Brushing off his sleeve, he adjusts his cap.

In your mind, you're internally screaming.

Ryusui? Ryusui Nanami just professed to you. Something you hadn't even imagined in 10 years or so, if you haven't decided to actively pursue him. RYU. What did he even see in you? What pushed him to confess, TODAY?

"Come on, let's go back." he holds out his hand, so lightheartedly. The blond is so casual about this, so, so casual. How could he be after admitting his feelings?

But then again, Ryu was always this affectionate you, wasn't he? Memories flood into your mind, of every gesture, every glance. Did everything lead up to here, or was this another misunderstanding?

Looking at him, so brightly shining, you can't help but decide to let your worries, the thoughts that cling you down, let go for a minute.

"Yeah. Let's go," you mutter, taking his hand.

The sounds of the crashing waves grow distant with every step. Your chest hums, heart buzzing with a newfound warmth.

Clearing Up Misconceptions on the S5 Trailer

LEGO has never released a trailer before

I can see where this is coming from but it isn't true.

Yes, S4 was shadow dropped, the trailer and poster only came out after it was released but that doesn't go for every season.

"The Emperors Wrath" was first advertised with a literal TikTok edit, S1 and 3 both got trailers about a month before they were released in China, and the "Embrace Your Destiny" trailer was even edited to remove spoilers. 

The trailer was leaked/unofficially released

Yes, the trailer hasn't been officially released on YouTube but that's because Monkie Kid trailers are never officially uploaded to YouTube. LMK is mainly meant for a Chinese audience, therefore advertising is mostly done on Chinese social media.

Every other trailer has been released on BillBilli, Weibo, or Douyin, which is where the Season 5 trailer was dropped. These are LEGO’s official verified accounts. 

Aside from personal accounts from artists working on the show or sets. There is no official English LMK account to do promotional work or "officially release" anything.

LEGO dropped Flying Bark because they unionized

Once again, I see where people are coming from but this probably isn't true because WildBrain is also unionized. They've been unionized longer than Flying Bark has. Flying Bark joined the union February 2024 while WildBrain unionized with the Canadian Animation Guild in Fall 2023.

This is not me saying there couldn't have been crunch or mistreatment, just that the studio change probably wasn't because of Flying Bark unionizing. The previous series director cites scheduling and "logistical errors" as the reason for the break up.

I’m actually not used to writing short fics, I prefer long and drawn out slow burns (looks at my 300k genshin fic) so I have the deep urge to write that for Mithrun, but… I hesitate because it would be a reader insert, obv. Thank you! I don't take any interest for my art for granted, and if someone goes through the trouble of drawing my characters for me, I feel like trying to write a proper response is the least I can do. For a visually oriented person, receiving gift/fan art is a huge deal, it means someone considered my goobers worth their time and effort, they've probably been thinking about them more than a little and found them inspiring in a way or another, and I find that terribly flattering. It's extremely fun and interesting to see other people's takes on them. And I've drawn stuff for people as well, I know how nice and rewarding it feels to receive a response that is longer than a word or two. Positive comments like that can linger in people's minds for a long time, at least for me they do.

the other day i said that ed's regression to his violent blackbeard person as the kraken is the the worst he's ever been and i still believe that but i don't think he's the worst he's ever been to others but to himself

like, in the few moments of him as the kraken he already did some fucked up shit (cutting izzy's finger off and forcing him to eat it, abandoning most of the crew on a tiny deserted island), but the way i see it, he's mainly doing this as a way to hurt or punish himself. stede rejected him, at least that's what ed saw, and so he probably thinks he doesn't deserve nice things after all. he had hope for a nice life with someone he loves and it all went downhill after he admitted his feelings so of course he's going to blame himself and feel like absolute shit about it

he got rid of every one of stede's belongings, all of which he was fascinated by- his variety of clothes and books, his trinkets and his ship's little model, and every other small thing in his room. he even got rid of the piece of silk his mother gave him when he was young. i assume it's the combination of him thinking he doesn't deserve fine (and nice, good) things, the painful memory of his mother and the fact that the red fabric is attached to stede bc of the "you wear fine things well" scene

we know for a fact ed doesn't like to kill, he has a lot of trauma attached to killing, and i really don't think he wants to be generally violent and cruel. this is all a facade, a show he's putting on for izzy and the rest of the crew. he's blackbeard for them, but he is the kraken for himself (does this make sense?). he is hurting himself. he's back to the old habits he just said he didn't want to go back to. drinking all day, torturing people for a laugh. it's not like stede 'rejecting' him suddenly made him want to become the thing he despises/fears the most, either. it wasn't his immediate reaction bc he did try to take a healthier approach, but when that didn't work he tried some extreme methods

talk about unhealthy coping mechanisms...

this identity doesn't come naturally to ed and i think that's very obvious. he's forcing himself to act a certain way, he's pushing himself to be this way and being very careful to not unmask in front of anyone. his crew can't watch him cry himself to sleep or they won't respect his blackbeard/kraken persona and he needs them to believe this is him now

wait wait wait whaaatt ok ok so I’ve been on a nostalgia kick recently and have been looking back into old fandoms I was apart of, like minecraft diaries. and I was going through the wiki to try and refresh’s myself on the lore because I don’t feel bothered to watch all the old videos😭 but but I realized I recognized some of the titles of the divine warriors! They’re also title of gods from ffxiv (the fury, the destroyer, the matron, the keeper, the wanderer)

Yea she’s played ff14 haha! She’s posted her and her husband(pretty sure it’s him sure cus of the last name lycan) characters to twitter a few years back.. y’know I’m surprised it took me this long to make the connections because I’ve been watching my brothers play ff games for as far back as my earliest memories and even got some of their hand me down games NOT TO MENTION that their was a significant overlap in the time I lived and BREATHED mcd and would watch my brother play ff14 around the same time too?? To be fair though my brothers were going through the broody teen phase at that point too so they only really tolerated me watching them craft and gather or wander around for a bout an hour max before going to play cod or basketball with their friends😅

But back to main point I was trying to make is that it’s really neat how the series that started me creative journey is inspired by the franchise that has and is currently still fueling that drive^^!!

01. we gotta explore the [redacted] s1 potential and why suzaku was able to sense cc despite not having a formal connection. frankly, i still want to explore that novel concept of suzaku's ancestral clan being connected to the geass order. granted, all i really have is a poor google translate explanation, but i honestly feel like that is a great thing to explore. particularly the things book marianne claimed : suzaku cannot inherit geass because he doesn't have the R-cells. -No one in his family was able to inherit the code, because they cannot have geass - the kururugi clan originally being former owners of geass ruins until they split from the geass order. - his bloodline dubbed "the guardian bloodline" and their duty to protect the divine, which historically was those with the code. naturally, this can also explain why suzaku and cc had that unexplained yet symbolic connection that doesn't need to rely on lelouch.

02. taking that in consideration, it makes the whole "sword and shield" thing even more unique in terms of them "becoming equal". neither of them are bounded to the rules of the past and instead are redefining the role of "guardian and code holder". they already possess their own similarities and burdens, there is no mask to be have between the both of them. they have a mission, sure, but that does not mean any interactions should be dropped after the requiem. there is a connection and she too can be a confident.

03. okay ignoring the two points above, just make an AU where suzaku was given geass instead LMAO.
