Thank you for speaking out against THAT tlou fic writer. In the last few weeks I’ve been feeling more and more uncomfortable by the work she puts out. Her characterizations are always so off and she writes Ellie like she is eight years old instead of a teenager with agency. I think that’s also why I was so bothered by her “Ellie as a mom” fics because even though she aged Ellie up in them she still wrote her like she was a child.

TLOU obviously deals with dark themes so yeah the fanfics about it probably will too, but there is a way to appropriately and respectfully do so without essentially fetishizing and dehumanizing real human experiences. It’s just frustrating that this author refuses to reflect on their writing and instead uses the “don’t like don’t read” excuse to defend their choices. Also, when I looked through their blog a while back I saw that they were writing tlou fanfic without even watching the show or game, which is just odd but ok.

Anyway, I’m sorry if her latest posts have been triggering for you and that you had to make a post about it, but thank you for being so open about how her writing and tropes do have real consequences. I hope you are doing okay and know that there are people who support you and agree with you.

I also want to say that I really appreciate and enjoy your work. I’m always looking forward to the next silhouette updates and have resonated with your writing style and in-depth character analyses.

man. this whole thing pisses me off because like. even when people talk about staff having a history of hating trans women, that this isnt the first time, without fail black trans women are forgotten to be included again and again. im not surprised this caused such an uproar when the popular white woman gets deleted. nobody should be, its been that way like forever. some cunt in my inbox got annoyed i called rita a sex worker (lol? okay)
