As for favorite video games, I can't really pinpoint one in specific, so here's a list of my 10 favorites, in no particular order:

Mass Effect (all of them, but especially the 3rd one): Just incredible series, my mind was blown the first time I played them years ago.

Subnautica: Huge speculative biology enthusiast + I love horror + I love survival game. This was made for me !!

Stardew Valley: The ultimate "I want to chill and keep my mind busy" game, I replay it at least once a year.

Baldur's Gate 3: The ultimate RPG, perfect for making OC, I love DND and I love tough fights in DND, so perfect for me. Has incredible villains, and I'm a villain lover <3

Skyrim: Just an absolute classic

Far Cry 5: Amazing game, super fun gameplay, cool villains, cult stuff, and stunning landscapes. I just play it to chill too.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: UUUGH this game, so good, such a huge map I never grow tired of exploring.

Resident Evil Village: Lady Dimistrescu + Chris Redfield + Karl Heisenberg in one single game was a murder attempt on my poor bisexual brain tbh. Love the resi games but this one just hits different.

Minecraft: I love me some cubes

Cyberpunk 2077: Just a fun game to replay, love the characters, love the gameplay, it's just fun !

oh my god last minute days of color rant: I CAN’T EVEN SPEND MY TICKETS

You can see a more even keel look at my issues with tickets here, but I’m here to rant.

They don’t convert (which is stupid) I didn’t get enough for the cape (ALSO STUPID BECAUSE IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE AND REQUIRED LIKE 30 MINS / DAY, DAILY, which like sorry tgc, but i actually pride myself on having a LIFE), and the amount of spells you can buy/day is limited SO I CAN’T EVEN BUY THE JUNKY SPELLS (let alone the cape)

The fact they don’t convert already had me sour grapes about it, because that meant my literal hours of grinding was going to just POOF because I couldn’t quite manage to get the cape since TGC’s expectations of average players are completely unrealistic, but I was happy to get a ton of spells… only to be cut off from that as well. I literally hate this company. This is one decision in a long line of stupid decisions, and it’s the straw that’s making me quit this stupid game.

To all of you happy with the ticket system and other recent changes: I’m happy you can find joy. But I urge you to consider the question of reasonable expectations from players— is it reasonable for TGC to expect the average player base to login, say, 6/7 days of the week for 10-20 mins per day? Especially to get, say, seasonal content they already paid real money for, or just limited time items? Really, they typically have been expecting MORE, actually. Very few games have this rigorous a grind schedule for limited time items. In my opinion, it’s not reasonable— especially when, frankly, there’s not much to fill your time when you do play, from an actual gameplay perspective (kind of wandering around with little challenge or ability to meaningfully interact with others is hardly fun after some time). I think this will lead to the death of sky, and honestly, if they don’t change things, I won’t be too sad to see it go.

Probably a controversial opinion but I think the genshin 5.1 archon quest could've been a lot better.

Like it's decent but fuck man there's so much they could've done to help with the pacing, making things more exciting, and just make it better.

I acknowledge that a lot of it was good - I really like Citlali as a character and how she was portrayed in the quest. All the lore drops was huge especially since genshin tends to try not address these hidden away lore nuggets. Showing explicit death in an archon quest when they've been very reluctant to do so before was also I think a good decision. And of course the whole Natlan War combining gameplay elements into the story was a pretty cool way of doing it.

But the bad stuff does a lot to undercut all the good stuff.

For one, the Chasca and Chuychu pseudo-stealth segment was just ??? Like if you're not gonna let me actually engage in gameplay and do a stealth section then why not just give me exposition via text? Just have Chasca tell us that they found that Fatui found the secret source? There was zero point to sitting through the like 5-10 mins of zero input Chasca and Chuychu going through the camp.

My main gripe however, is mostly with the Natlan War. It's supposed to be like the climax, I feel (I know there's more to come but it does feel like a climactic story beat) yet

1. Like half of Natlan isn't even out yet. It feels a little jarring that for this "war all across natlan" we only see half the nation and only interact with that half. It would've been so much cooler if they delay the archon quest for like an update or two until they release at the very least 2 more tribes and then suddenly we have this much larger battle map to play with.

2. I respect the split story choice stuff but at the end of the day it still feels pretty linear when there's only a few decisions and they're all between only 2 spots. And also we can't really see how stuff elsewhere are going or the stuff along the way outside of fluff text on the map.

3. We literally never team up with the other cool characters except for kinich and xilonen. Like you have this all star cast all working to fight for Natlan and you're telling me that I never went to the same location as Capitano and team up with him or with Mavuika? I understand story-wise it wouldn't make sense since you'd want to split up to cover areas but like godddd please let me interact with those characters during this big giant set piece battle!

4. The enemies are too easy/too few. We've been told over and over that it's waves and waves of abyss monsters but when we get there it's like 3 waves at best and they're ez to fight like cmonnnn at least make the battles harder or longer or something make me more immersedddd

5. There's no that feeling of hopelessness or like not being able to help that comes with war. Like yes there's the whole "the deathcount keeps going up" and "you get to this location and sees everyone is dead" and "you can't go everywhere all at once" but those are all kind of distant. I understand that while the deathcount is like... each number is a Natlanese dead, it's still pretty arbitrary especially when it's a video game and I'm already part way unimmersed. They could've made it a lot more personal if the traveler personally fails to save people. If the traveler goes to a location to rescue someone and they were alive at the start and despite everything the monsters got to them too fast for the traveler to stop even though he's there. They could've done a part where there's so many monsters it overwhelms the party and you have to struggle not just to defeat the monsters but to actually survive and get out. They could've done traveler fighting together with other warriors and have the warriors die and the traveler physically react to someone fighting with them dying. Like GOD they could've done so much to make it feel more personal and i would've been so much more immersed than "ok you defeated this group of monsters and saved this people now head here next and oh look the number of dead people went up and also abyss corrosion went up".

6. Chuychu. Chuychu, chuychu, chuychu. She died onscreen but for what it's worse she might as well have died offscreen. The moment she and Chasca appeared it was pretty obvious she was gonna die and Chasca was gonna become a hero and then the whole plan goes ahead and etc etc. We barely knew Chuychu and she could've used a lot more time and interaction to get us invested in her character. Her dying message was kind of cliche and Chasca gaining power after that was also cliche. They could've made us try to defend Chuychu and fail because theres too many monsters but instead she was already fatally wounded before we got there. God, they could've done it better.

Like the quest was decent but goddd it makes me so much angrier that it could've been a lot better.

The End is Nigh progress!

Here are my current stats! I just achieved 100% today because I finished up Super Mega Cart. I really enjoy the carts in this game, I love the visual style, the bit sized style, it just feels so good to do a round of 10 rooms and then practice until you can do them deathless! The main game is also incredibly fun, I had so much finding the secrets throughout the game, the game feels so alive, it plays so nicely. It's just so much fun!

Here's my current progress in the carts. I got some great things done today. I started off by finishing up Acceptance, that is one of the first long form consistency tests I've done and it was so much fun, I really enjoyed practicing and learning everything up to it. And then world 5 is such a beautifully done sight read challenge. I absolutely love odd asynchronous cycles and taking my time to analyze them ahead of time. My first run in world 5 ended in the final row at the top row when I tried to jump over a ghost that was simply too high for me to go over. It was a rough death but it didn't hurt because I was confident in my ability to get back there and that the road back there would be a lot of fun. I also spent probably 20 mins just staring at the ghosts figuring them out and it was super rewarding. Also world 4 is beautifully designed gameplay for messing with your nerves, those balloon platforms along with the time pressure are brilliant but world 4 is definitely the easiest to execute, I love how nerves impact it. My second time to world 5 I died on 5-2 by jumping the gun on a ghost, my third time returning to world 5 would be my successful attempt. I went through it far faster than I thought I would. My lovely girlfriend Lucy who has done everything in the game aside from Dead God, gave me some great advice. It was along the lines of "keep going and stop when you have to" I interpreted it as, moving forward being the default, which is kind of an aggressive playstyle which feels good to play with. Lucy is such a great source of help for difficult games. She gave me so much great advice for both of my Cave Story 3 HP runs, one being on hard mode in Cave Story +, she taught me how to make the undead core fight way more manageable. Regular core was so difficult in that.

I also completed Scab or Die deathless! Also don't be fooled this is not a photo taken with my phone, the game has a really good CRT filter for the carts. This was so fun to learn and do deathless, I love the cycle strat I came up with for 3, the muscle memory for the drops in 4 felt so nice. I found a fast but safe platform cycle on 5. 6 is definitely the hardest room but Lucy had a great idea that she came up for it, in that room you have to deal with spikes coming up from the floor and receding at a rhythm and jumping up and making progress without dying requires precise timing but she found a great strategy. You basically take advantage of the game's coyote time (time after walking off the ground where you are still allowed to jump despite not being on the floor) and it makes it much easier however it is still incredibly difficult. 7 I found a cute strat where I can be safer doing something more precise. I have to try avoiding touching a block but if I hit the block there's no punishment since you can just return to the previous screen and reset the room. 9 was a great room to learn, though I died there once. And then this image I posted, this is the final screen, I died once by running into the pit at the start, it was silly, I didn't die to that room after I respawned. But I preserved and eventually I got back there and beat screen 10 without dying to it elsewhere, I cut some gaps really close but I did it! I'm looking forward to completing the rest of what's there to do in this game. I really like The End is Nigh cart, im excited to do that deathless. Thank you for reading! I wish you a very nice day!

The Engage Maddening Experience, Part 1: I have no stats and I must kill (ch. 1 to 11)

I’m making this series because people liked the 3H one and I think it can be useful if you want to try Maddening and are too afraid of it. I’m not a min-maxxer nor an expert at these games in any capacity. But you know what they say, if it works, it works!

Since you can roughly divide the game in three parts in terms of gameplay and roster, I think that’s what I’m going to do here.

Anyway, I wanted this run to be as “pure” as possible, so the rules were simple:

-no dlc

-no online features

-no update weapons

-no FEH stuff

-no RNG rigging to get good rings

I also wanted to use units I’ve ignored in my first run. But since this is Maddening mode and the jump in difficulty from Hard is like... Really high, I still wanted to use some units I was familiar with and I knew could carry me to some degree. These picks were Chloé, and Ivy (not pictured in this thread since she joins late chapter 11 and I cannot talk about her performances just yet).

Maddening mode, for those unaware, appart from the usual changes in enemy stats and variety, comes with some peculiarities:

no hard saves within a chapter

the AI won’t attack if it hits for 0 both in damage and in hit rates

EXP gains are halved

Bosses cannot be broken, and weapon effectiveness doesn’t exist against them

there are no skirmishes

the Tower doesn’t reset the Somniel

the level up growths are fixed

That’s pretty much it. Points 2, 3 and 4 are really what make the mode difficult, because they change entirely how you’d approach the game.

Let’s jump into it

The prologue is nothing to write about, it’s pretty straightforward. Most chapters actually play like Hard mode, except, you know, harder.

The most important part is to pick 3 to 4 units and to funnel everything you’ve got in them so they can carry you through what’s arguably the hardest chapters of this first part: chapter 5 and 10. If you don’t do this, these units will also be unsuable later on.

Your most important rings are Marth, Sigurd and Micaiah. Marth and Micaiah allow you to earn EXP. In this game, EXP is link with SP, and therefore with Skills. So the nerf in EXP also makes it you’re nerfed on several levels.

Marth with level 10 bond gives you access to Mercurius, and Mercurius doubles EXP gains. Basically, stick Marth on people you want to level up and make sure you use the arena to get level 10 bond with him. Mine was on Alear, then Yunaka, then Chloé, with the objective of reaching 1000 SP on them before chapter 10 so I could teach them Canter.

Speaking of Canter, Sigurd is your most important unit in terms of fire power. He comes with Momentum, a skill that adds 1 attack by number of tiles crossed to attack the enemy. It’s strong because Sigurd also gives shittons of moves. I put it on Chloé and it made sure she could one-round stuff she usually couldn’t have. In terms of bosses, I would park her far away but in reach regardless just so I could exploit the skill to its maximum potential.

Micaiah is free EXP for whoever is wielding her. That’s it.

Basically your strat will be to use these rings on the units you intend to use long term. The other units deployed can still pull their weight and contribute, but they won’t gain significant EXP, and they SHOULDN’T. To give you an idea, Boucheron, whom I used in every map, was merely level 5 at chapter 11. But he was there to chain attack, so he was useful in his own way. Some other units will be unusuable if you don’t invest into them. Alfred comes to mind.

One thing with Maddening is that your units hit like wet noodles and it’s really hard not to get overwhelmed since the AI is so aggressive. Engage mode becomes more than a clutch, it’s something you’re using ALL THE TIME to kill things that need to be killed right now. Support capabilities like Alear’s personal skill and Yunaka’s poison are also king. You literally NEED that extra 1 point of damage per attack. 

Anyway, here’s the roster for this first part:

At this point in time, Alear is still a fairly offensive unit, but that won’t last for long. I picked the Avoid skill for her because I like her in the frontline, but Canter would have been a better choice. Divine Inspiration (+3 atk, -1 damage taken to adjacent ally) is probably the best personal skill in the game because its flat damage. ie, it ignores def. Good to abuse with daggers.

Not much to say about her except I’ll probably reclass her to Thief at some point.

Chloé is probably one of the best unit in the game or at least for half of it (we’ll see if she falls off later). Sigurd gave her some punch, but so did the Energy drop I gave her + Angelic Robe to help her survive. Canter on her is optimal I believe. Forge her an iron Lance and she can one-round most of the maps early on. I picked wyvern for the extra punch.

Céline is the hardest hitting unit you get in terms of magical damage until you get Citrinne, and even there she can double when Citrinne cannot. Chloé is also HARD carried by Célica. I went with her personal class but later on, I think I’ll reclass her to Martial Monk of High Priest since her offense isn’t really anything to write home about long term. I could just bench her, but that wasn’t the plan. TOGETHER WE RIDE (and die).

I actually used Jean on Hard, but I benched him later on as I put him in a shit class that really didn’t make use of his stat growths. I stuck Micaiah on him and he’s budget Hortensia for now. We’ll see how it goes... It’s a bit sad he doesn’t actually have innate Staff proficiency, so he’s stuck with C staves...

ngl I compared her stats to Zelkov on his join chapter and it was just sad. I don’t think he’ll be any better than her in the long run and Lucina and Alear support make it so she can poison even with shit attack. So that’s what she’s here for: poisonning and facetanking. She’s also hit by the “enemy will forever ignore her” curse because she’s so dodgy, so you can’t break the game in half with her like you could in Hard. Having a dedicated support is still nice, though.

He sucked in Hard, so I made the most rational decision and I gave him All the Forged Weapons. He’s doing fine for now. More chain attackers is always good. I just don’t think Diamant is a good unit...

Amber has insane strength and a personal skill that boosts his hit rate. Bow Knight seemed like a good match, especially because it fixes his speed stat. And that’s what you want to do. Speedy Amber = enemy is dead 100%. We’ll see how he evolves but I’m very happy with him so far. You really want bow users in this game, and I’m not using Alcryst this time around...

And that’s it for the early game units! Everyone else was benched by the end of chapter 11.

Obligatory deaths:

-Etie, took an axe in the face chapter 5 so I could kill this horrible boss

-Jade, whom I didn’t recruit because I was left between letting her die, or face tanking Kagetsu, and you don’t face tank Kagetsu

Chapter difficulty rating:

10 > 5 > everything else

It mostly played like Hard mode except these two. Chapter 10 has a really, really difficult start because Hortensia actually moves. Chapter 5 has a really hard finish with the boss and his squad rushing you + you don’t have access to many ressources at this point.

i played for 4 hours & my preliminary thoughts are:

my biggest gripe about character customisation was that the shadows on the clothes around the chest area made it look like your rook's bust was sizeable no matter how flat they were if you looked at them from the side. like they went to the trouble of making a bust slider, so Why. Why Did They Paint The Tops Like That.

also during character customisation i was like "why is the skin so yellow" but that might have been my fault. i use f.lux to lower the brightness of my screen & reduce the blue tones. i turn it off when i play bg3 but i might not have turned it off when i opened da4. the colour didn't look off when i started the actual gameplay

i keep having to mess with my graphics settings because it's either Very Pixelated or the character models are smooth but everything is moving too fast so i can barely see shit anyway

the fucking camera motion. why is there so much of it. i turned it down to like 30? out of the 100 it was and it still feels like too much. why

i need to lower the mouse sensitivity as well i think. i got thru half the fights so far by dodging and then wildly waving my mouse around as i try to reorient myself before the enemy got close to me again. i got motion sick lmfao

i keep side-eyeing the characters for continually saying "ancient elven gods". when we met the dalish veil jumpers, they also called the evanuris "ancient elven gods" and openly said that solas was right and the evanuris were worse than him. which... lmfao??? is this common knowledge now? are people making thedastube videos saying "remember when that one bald guy said we were wearing slave marks on our faces and we said never come back here you bitch... yeah, well, so, apparently he was right"???

like. what. did their Exploration Of Ancient Elven Ruins give them the knowledge that actually the evanuris really were bad. this just feels so stupid to me

on the parts that i DID like -

i really do like the model stylisation & how sturdy the character models are in comparison to how elves looked in da:i. they do still suffer from stick limb syndrome but it's better than it was. i think.

varric trying to talk to solas because he thinks that solas needs to know that he can choose another option... (looks at anders blowing up a chantry for his beliefs) (looks at solas destroying the world for his beliefs) if varric befriends one more betrayer mage, the scale of their destruction might turn dragon age into a scifi

solas stabbing varric and clearly feeling guilty about it, both in the immediate aftermath and when rook mentions varric being hurt, but also immediately shoving that guilt to the side & firming his expression, because he can and must justify that harm to himself and also use it as another reason for why he Must rectify his Even Worse mistake

i like neve and bellara so far - neve's entrance immediately establishes her as a badass, and bellara... was jarring for the first ten seconds before i adjusted

i like that so many characters you meet early on have non-white features and have a range of skintones

also felassan left so many fucking notes all over the lighthouse lmfao

so far the quests & puzzles have been manageable & fairly straightforward, other than the 2 puzzles i spent over 10 min on (the "three sisters" facing each other puzzle at the lighthouse & literally just finding your way to the ballista to knock down the wall in the arlathan ruins so you can retrieve the second ... glowy crystal thing), with combat giving me the most trouble. hopefully i will pick that up. i am on the easiest difficulty setting & have turned on the "you cannot die" toggle

overall i have enjoyed almost all of the past 4 hrs :)

Thoughts on Arkham Asylum this far:

Gameplay:

I’m mostly disappointed in the lack of actual detective work. It’s mostly just: find this item and then we will tell you the answer. Which isn’t detective work, and is driving me insane.

Fighting is fun, but a bit too easy. A lot of possible tactics and the maps are built in a way that allows some fun little tricks. Mostly pointless tho, since the fights are painfully easy. Had one boss fight that ended so early I was waiting for a second phase to start and when it didn’t, I just stood there contemplating if I really care enough to finish the game, esp since I can’t actually play it without making myself physically ill.

Plot:

I feel like I have been sent on a series of endless fetch quests. There’s not much in terms of mystery and plot is minimal atm. I’m hoping it’ll pick up once I’m further in.

Conley-friendliness: 2/10

Necessary game play elements/tools are rendered in black and white with glowing neon objects. Low lighting in most scenes and flashing can take the form of flickering lights, lightning and police lights.

Playing in small intervals (<=15 min) is possible with minimal side effects, playing for longer risks headache, nausea, passing out, and (unlikely but possible) triggering one of my particularly severe migraines. My eyes hurt and my head feels like shit, but it is, technically speaking, playable for me.

All as someone believed a story of a sequence of retribution will be much more appealing than a lie on wandering through an abandoned museum. Even if—and it’s a very, really deep if—her death would take triggered a vaccine, letting that to happen would be harsh and wrong. With your doctor, more than everybody also, must complete that. Certainly in your own fraught times we should realize now the way tough coming up with a vaccine is—and destroying the lone specimen which can hold the answer is not only inappropriate and wrong, it’s magnificently stupid. It is worth mentioning though which the original flavor in the Past people TELEVISION line has previously created to stand seeds for the storyline of The Last of US Part II Download PC . What gets to the sequel different is the system this makes you ask the activities. You don’t just kill people; you see the ramifications. Breakdown -

When the timer hits 3.5 seconds, those cars will generate in speific position

These lines mean the group TrafficLeft and TrafficRight will move in certain speed in Y axis. Moreover, the z-order changed to 2 because the car is also set to 2 which mean when the traffic hits player's car, it will cause an event

These lines are for limiting the car motion when crossing the yellow line

When it hits the group Traffic, it will then explode and lose

When the group hits the bottom of the highway which set in 700, player will gain 100 points

This condition & action mean when the tree hits the Y position 700, then it will disappear by itself.

To implement those car into the traffic, I have to assign new value in scene variable. Also, I have to put them into the group in TrafficLeft, TrafficRight and Traffic :

For now, if I wanted to add more cars, I just need to repeat those steps and change some of the value.

To make it more realistic, I have made more control that player can accelerate or deaccelerate-

I have move the score to the UI layer so it won't be in the middle of gameplay.

Adding Health to players

When I was working with the health for the car. I kept trying and find the solution of colliding with the Traffic group. The car keep exploding before hitting any car.

Finally, I manage to resize the health bar instead of using the flat health heart

This code is only a test, and it dies when it hits other cars. The code "change the width of HealthBar: set to clamp(Car.Variable(Health)/Car.Variable(MaxHealth)*1,0,175)" means resizing the health bar. 175 is the width of the health bar, and 0 means from the start, so it makes the health bar look like it is decreasing in health. Alos, clamp means taking value to limit it between 2 values which is in the bracket.

Since 10 for Maxhealth is too much I decided to change it to 3 Healths which means players can only crash their car to others 3 times.

I tried to increase the health to 3 but it doesn't work. However, I tried my best to maintain the car died on second time.

After 30 mins, I successfully figure out the health and now it works! It has 4 health now!

So when the player is dead. They should move to a "Game Over Sence" which mean I have to create a new scene.

I beat sonic's story when I made this post and today I beat the rest of the game

My opinions (objectively correct :3)

Sonic has good movement, his levels are fun but too long and also his story in general is too long, also i wasted like 25 or so lives on the final boss lol

Tails: the most boring story until Eggman starts committing domestic terrorism and then it becomes fun for 10 min and then its over. His movement is fun tho

Knuckles: eh. Story was kinda interesting but his movement and level design are kinda bad tbh

Amy: love love LOVE her story but her gameplay is not the best, pretty clunky

Big the cat: love the character, hate the voice and gameplay

E102γ: perfect. I love his story so much I love his gameplay so much it was the perfect length I love his voice I love everything about it

Final story: it was pretty good idk

sonic frontiers review go!!!! (non spoilers then MASSIVE spoilers under the cut) TLDR overall score: i would say it's an objective solid 8/10, but for me personally i just. i just had so much fun. 10/10

gameplay (combat/bosses) 9/10 gameplay (cybers) 6.5/10 gameplay (shmovement) 8/10

i fucking Love. Comboing Shit For Video Game Combat. it's Fun. it's Exciting. I Love That Shit. excellent combat system, i just wish either skills were harder to unlock or there were just more to unlock (preferably the latter i guess, but i can't think of anything i want ... added ... it's just that skill points are so easy to come by and i maxed out the tree pretty fast, so i have a bunch of excess points for nothing. tbf i have a LOT of excess EVERYTHING but)

bosses were fucking excellent. THE highlights imo. mob fights and stuff are fine, everything manages to be its own puzzle which i adore but mini bosses and bosses are the shit. the cyberlevels are fun genuinely but either too short to get into, have some jank physics in a couple of them, or . well some of them aren't that fun GJKLASDF but i didn't hate them! ive only played sa2 so i only recognized those ones + the Super iconic ones (chemical plant and all that) and that probably affects judgement since blind reacting to a sonic stage is the fun part imo

they're ridiculously easy (to... me at least) though. besides 1-2's s rank which i finally got, i was able to get all four missions done for every cyber level within one sitting ... on average like . 3 tries per i'd say (blind first, going back for any red rings or ring reqs, and then speed) with some taking a few more for speed but never more than like. 10-20 min tbh. in general i almost want a very hard mode bc the game overall was a very chill time, which is fine but sometimes i want my shit rocked

parries being Not timing based both threw me off (bc i would try to let go at the exact time when in fact you just hold it) and made them feel a little less ultra cool since sonic will just hold the parry for as long as ... you do, essentially (though there is heavy end lag on it so if you don't parry anything that's at least punished) it's a minor tryhard gripe where i wish there was like a PARRY parry i could toggle or smth

i like being sonic in a big environment it's just fun. the amount of fucked up shit you can do is great, he truly is a prime candidate for bigass open areas (and he controls pretty nicely, just got a couple weird moments and things like he goes into 'trick' mode too easily or some platforming things don't work the way they're supposed to bc you go too fast lol)

story…… 8.5/10 characters 10/10 i like them :)

character writing was absolutely the highlight for me this game, good banter, many quips, overall just characterization i adore and love to see i was well fed this game with my beloved little scrimblos it was a good time

the story itself went pretty hard ngl, a lot more lore than i expected and generally it was sonic taking its ridiculous plot seriously again which is all i wanted !!!! it's like somehow ridiculous but probably the most straightforward story they've done in a while, but that's not a bad thing. good story i pogged a few times

music 11/10 straight bangers they just don't fucking miss

i don't think i have much spoiler stuff i'd wanna say other than i genuinely think they hyped themselves too much at the start. like the gameplay was fun learning how it works, how movement goes, the setup and everything etc. etc. i always 100% the map first thing as soon as i can then go through for anything i need/pick stuff up along the way and then i do the boss fight

and that first boss fight. is so fucking sick. oh my god. i felt like. if i was 12 and played this and got to experience that boss fight the way i did now it would've literally changed the trajectory of my life. it DID change the trajectory of my life right now at 23 it was just pure hype, i was so giddy, i had the biggest fucking grin i was literally ready to physically pop off yelling LETS GOOOOO i just let the little tutorial popup chill while i head banged to the song like dear fucking god dude. INSANE intro they set the bar way too high off the bat

wyvern/second boss was perhaps my favorite mechanically just bc it really goes at you the most, you gotta react a lot and parry a lot to get through the fight which is Fun .... giganto/first boss tho. easily the most memorable experience in gaming that i've had in years. it was just so phenomenally done, probably biased bc it's the first one but shadow of the colossus-ing your way up to his fucking head to get the emerald, turn into super sonic, hear that FUCKING SONG

but this game has sonic be so fucking anime and that means knight/boss 3 easily has the best fucking finisher when sonic picks up a sword the size of the island itself and does the most anime cut in half shot he possibly can god it was so fucking SICK THIS GAME IS SICK SONIC IS THE COOLEST

the story weakness imo is the ending where they had so much build up but not a Ton of payoff, not even talking about sonic like essentially dying in soul/mind and then being revived with friendship (based tbh) but like the last boss fight and last islands just weren't nearly as cool as the others imo .... supreme was a lil similar to giganto and went by a lot faster than expected, probably bc by that point sonic's probably juiced up from upgrades (i went all in on attack no defense too lol sooo) ... i love a good bullet hell but i wanted a super cool super sonic fight, a hyper sonic fight, something that lets me go to town and see a fucking Spectacle

fun bullet hell but that wasn't what i'm HERE for (also finally hearing im here was sick but the fight itself really was so short/not quite as hard or anything innovative that it.... ehhh .... plus it was oddly quiet compared to the other songs i think, like, the sound mixing)

the ending feels a liiiittle rushed? The End is cool as a concept especially with how fucked up we know it is but i dunno, it really does feel like it blew the load a little too early and the ending just didn't live up to earlier hype/expectations

but it was still fun it just. it just didn't make me Feel the way giganto did, the way wyvern did, knight was where the hype started dropping off a liiiittle but knight was still a fucking SHOW where sonic beats a mf with his own shield AND THEN BLOCKS A SWORD BIGGER THAN MOUNTAINS WITH HIS OWN FUCKING HANDS THEN USES IT AGAINST HIM ITS' SIK IT'S SICK the final boss didn't have any truly THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME bits that really let you walk away going YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and that's the part they need to fix

i did not actually hear vandalize in game yet because that is apparently only if you go into the final fight on easy or normal (i played to completion on hard exclusively) but the "true" ending song by nate goddamn wants to battle is INCREDIBLY sonic. one way dream is soooo reach for the stars/endless possibilities. it just makes me Feel happy. it's a little melancholic the way all of frontiers sort of is, but it's still hopeful and all about like. going forward. overcoming anything in your path and getting better for it and seeing the start of another new adventure and that sure is sonic the hedgehog

Such a back and forth continues for the better part of the day as you get ready. Corpse only whines a bit when you forget to text him back - you are packing, and your prestigious cat ears you bought from Amazon for 10$ deserve exquisite care - which only fuels your seemingly bottomless hunger for mischief, leading to you sneakily ignoring him more. When your phone lights up with a message, you giggle, giddy with excitement. Your laughter only gets louder and more erratic, to the point where Rae had busted down your door and threw her Hello Kitty plush at you - one you’d gotten her, mind you! - and told you to just “Shut the fuck up!”

Ungrateful. You know not everyone can appreciate your sense of humor, or stand your hyena like cackle, but that was uncalled for and you told her as much. Noting the mess your room is in (more than usual, that’s for certain), she leans onto the door frame, crossing her arms over her chest, pretty brown eyes twinkling curiously, “Where you off to?”

“So I had this idea-” You start, but are promptly shut down with a raise of her palm.

“Already know it’s a bad one.”

Insulted, and hurt, you clutch your heart. As if she had not mocked you enough today, “Rae...The hell, that’s so mean...” You mutter, face scrunching into a soft frown, “I only wanted to tell you what me and Syk thought of.”

“Oh?” Intrigued, she raises a brow, “Continue.”

“Gee, thanks for letting me this time.” You mumble, rolling your eyes, “So. We thought we’d stream together. The catch? In the same room! We’ll be playing Cyberpunk. Gotta cash in while the hype is still up.” You add, making her snort, “And, ya know, the whole cat boy business...We’ll be wearing matching cat ears. Admit it, I’m a genius.”

She’s quiet for a moment, mulling over your words; you can practically see the gears in her head turning. She glances around the room, then briefly at you, strangely apprehensive. “You sure that’s a good idea?”

Well, that is definitely not what you expected her to say. You figured it’d be more along the lines of you’d be one ugly cat. “Huh?” Is all you manage to stutter, “What do you mean?”

She gives you a look, one all people give when something is so plainly obvious, “Y/n. You do know the stans will go wild, right? And you do remember our conversation involving Corp-”

“Nope!” You exclaim cheerily with a bright smile to match. You don’t want to think about that. The relationship between you and Corpse is strictly platonic, and besides, seeing Twitter loosing their shit is always funny, and you never miss an opportunity to mess with your fans. Sykkuno is also a good friend, albeit a new one. This supposed flirting from Corpse’s end Rae deduced was nothing more than her projecting her feelings onto the situation. She always liked shoujo anime and was probably thinking one was happening right in front of her. Not a chance. Corpse was just being a friendly crackhead. Your energies mesh beautifully.

Like, beautifully in a strictly friend way. Absolutely nothing more than that.

She gives up, naturally, arguing with a wall would be more productive than arguing with you. You’re such a (Zodiac sign).

“Well,” She mumbles, ticking her head to the side, leaning off of the door frame and turning to leave, “Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.”

Your grin melts as soon as she leaves. Glancing at your bag, you shove your last necessities in with newfound hesitance.

It is well past the generally set “appropriate” time to hang out, but since quarantine, what is appropriate anymore anyway? You’ve never been in Sykkuno’s apartment, but now that you’re here it’s...strangely him. Every corner seems tailored to his specific requirements. It’s cozy, and pleasantly warm - it’s a bit chilly in LA, as surprising as that is.

He’s even shyer than you remember him being. And a whole lot more awkward, but in an endearing way, a way that makes you want to laugh and try to reassure him that it’s just you and he has nothing to worry about. While you hung out only once, the history you share is rich and tender. From him following you on Twitter and subsequently prematurely ending your stream, to kidnapping a stray cat affectionately named Juan. His long lost brother, Juan (no the Second, just Juan), lives in your Minecraft server. 

His stream room is sadly bare. There’s an appalling lack of merch or fairy lights. Not even led-lights. It’s a good thing you brought your own. As you try to decided which color would be best - his signature lime green, reminiscent of his adorable Among Us astronaut, or, perhaps, mischievous violet? - he boots the game and tweets out a quick “streaming with y/n in ten mins! come one come all!” 

“You should probably tell your fans, too.” He mumbles, looking somewhere above your shoulder. You settle with cherry blossom pink. Glancing at him, you shrug.

“Ah, do it for me, please?”

“Oh!” He hiccups, “Uhm, I wouldn’t want to pry and I don’t know your password and-”

“It doesn’t have a password.” You had removed it, knowing something like this would happen. Bless your foresight, you did not want him to know it was demonspiitinmymouth. Before he could protest further, you rush to the nearest mirror to put on your cat ears and make sure they aren’t crooked. You look absolutely adorable. The cat boys in your dms will go feral. Hell, you might just go feral looking at yourself! Sykkuno is not ready. No one is. This will be a stream to remember.

When you return (with flourish of course), he’s anxiously fidgeting by his computer, his own little cat ears, one’s he wore for the Halloween stream, peaking out from his silky brown hair. You have to suppress a squeal. When he catches you gaze he gives the kindest, sweetest little smile.

“They, uh--” He points at you, then decides it’s rude to point, bringing his hand back to his lap, then clutching his mouse, lastly releasing a sound stuck between a chuckle and a wheeze, “suit you, uhm, a lot!” He finishes with a resolute nod, quickly spinning in his chair and away from you.

This is the reaction you desired. All is going according to plan. Is this what God feels like? If not, then you pity her. She’s missing out.

Taking a seat next to him - he had been gracious enough to haul you a spare chair from the kitchen - you draw closer, and he, instinctively, shrinks away with another nervous chuckle. 

“You have, uhm... I-I didn’t look!” He quickly chimes. You raise a brow, “Uhm, unopened messages? From Corpse? He texted you when I was tweeting! I didn’t mean to look, I’m sorry-”

Instantly, you recall the famous vine with the scandalous “daddy chill” line, though refrain from saying it aloud. You love havoc, but you’re not evil (Rae would ardently disagree with you, though). Instead, you just shrug, “’S fine, don’t worry. I’ll text him back later. Let’s start?”

He nods, but doesn’t look at you. Granted, you don’t think he glanced at you even once since you returned, “...Okay. Ready?”

“Ready!”

You’re much too immersed into the game and Sykkuno’s twitch chat to even check what’s happening on Twitter, but your estimated guess is that everyone’s going crazy. The stream chat is unruly as well, but missing the signature Twitter spark. Most of the chaos is bravely lead by your fans. Sykkuno’s, much like the man himself, are too nice to scream so unabashedly.

Perhaps you excitement had been a bit too taxing, perhaps drinking 5 coffees and 2 energy drinks today and not enough water are to blame for the sudden drowsiness you’re feeling, but you can’t focus on the swimming chat or the abundance of cut-scenes at the starting point of the game. You steadily draw nearer and he, more composed in front of his audience, doesn’t react. About ten more minutes of hoovering by his shoulder and muttering soft commentary, and you feel yourself slipping.

The last coherent thought you have is a few choice words directed at caffeine itself for having the opposite effect of you at the worst time possible.

You float in oblivion for perhaps ten minutes at best. Once you awake with a startle, you shower Sykkuno in shy apologies and he quickly reassures you that it’s fine and that he didn’t mind at all!

“Though,” He adds after a thoughtful pause, “not sure if it was very, uh, comfortable?”

His stream chat spams uwu and variations of similar kind. The stream continues for a few more hours before the both of you wish everyone a good night. 

While you planned on wreaking absolute havoc, this sudden falling asleep was unexpected. You pondered the consequences of such an innocent, unplanned act whilst ubering home, fearing to check your phone which by now was blowing up with not only Twitter notifications but also Rae’s angry messages that vaguely read “what the fuck y/n”. Within the past two hours she had left 57 messages on all platforms collectively, including 7 calls. 

Corpse’s last text was over three hours ago.

Now that’s strange. Worry festers quickly. Briefly glancing at your surroundings - the pretty glimmer of passing street lights, neon signs, familiar buildings - you decide that it’s time to check what kind of nuclear explosion you’ve caused.

Your heart drops to the bottom of your stomach as you scroll past the hundreds of tweets and mentions. Scan through Rae’s messages. 

You had failed to prepare ahead. Every explosion of such kind is followed by nuclear winter. And Corpse’s lack of messages feels especially cold.

I have a theory that tumblr algorithms are taking over my preferences! Tell me why I had to refollow 10 simblrs that I KNOW I would never have unfollowed?! Hell, I barely use the unfollow feature and I can’t imagine how many more I’m missing! This irks my nerves. 

Also, my dash “seems’ dead all the time AND I hear this a lot from other simmers but I follow about 1k people and as soon as I check on them through the “following” section it states that they posted about 5 mins ago. Like WTH?! So basically they’re posting...it’s just not showing on my dash. It’s really getting old and annoying. 

HIGHSCHOOL

Is a bit disappointing for me. I play tested through a week to discover that I had no notification for Prom. I LOVE some of the features but feel that yet again it leaves more effort for creative minds instead of thorough gameplay that I’m missing. Still waiting to:

sit on the bed cross legged.

and pretty much every other feature that i saw in the EA walkthrough.

I also noticed the CAS glitch which I HATE and am creating yet another save. You know the one where you buy an outfit on Trendi and later find out that you have doubles in your CAS category! 😡

REBRAND

You know me. All I ever want to do is just play the damn game. I’m not story driven for that very reason and only IMO it takes too much effort. As a person who doesn’t really play with MODS I see very clearly that it’s NECESSARY to have them in order to even have a story let alone real gameplay!

I still don’t want them. So I think what I need to do is redirect my energy back into focusing on randomness with photos, more builds, sims, and pets. I can’t be bothered with this glitchy mess rn. Every time I try to have a family with a rich story line to engage you all something happens. As bad as I want that... similar to other simmers who inspire me, obviously it’s not my cup of tea with the way my game is setup sans mods.

Yet again, I’m in the middle of trying something off the wall. I want to redesign my sim style. I can’t take this game serious so something even more vanilla and cartoony. Similar to Alice down the rabbit hole bc that’s how I’m feeling atm.

He thinks Osaka P2 was the one that was the most well-received; it's a popular brand but it's difficult to coordinate (JP brand ETHOSENS). It's not something that stylists often prepare so maybe that's why. The outfit was seemingly difficult to rent on a lease?

He doesn't remember if his Tokyo P2 outfit had an apple embroidery (it did 🍎)

Someone comments their favourite outfits was the Tokyo P1 and Osaka P2 and he responds, "you all like the dressy clothes!"

Although it was the first time he and Miyashita Yuya co-starred, they got along the best

He really liked him and they had alot of drinks together

He thinks they had very similar personalities and ways of thinking, and that's why they got along so well - he clarifies that this is all one-sided though

Apparently the choreographer for the Tensura closing theme was the same one as the one in SekaNeko!

He thought it was gonna be difficult for Benimaru and Souei to fit the last dance part but it was alot of fun in the end

The make-up departments for Tensura/Suehiro/Furuba and their routines were all completely different; even if they all had the same base (his face), he thinks they were completely different

The wig and make-up artists all belong to the same team

He particularly liked the red tear drop for Benimaru's make-up 🩸 Maybe it should have been a bit more red though

The line was very fine and every day it looked a bit different

It was fun wearing hakama and wielding an ōdachi 🤗 He thinks having a sword is like having a friend ww

It wasn't difficult to wear the hakama - that is, if you learn the correct way to walk while wearing it

Benimaru's hakama is double layered after all and the haori (?) on top

The chat mentions how his sandals flew in one performance and the scabbard in another performance

It seems he ripped the hakama at two different occasions (as seen in senshūraku, but then also during the final battle scene with the Orc Disaster?)

Keeping the theme of mishaps, there was also the incident during Furuba where the juzu beads got scattered on stage (I'm assuming from Kyo's bracelet when Kazuma ripped it off in the beginning?)

Apparently they were torn two days in a row (thankfully no one tripped on them). Perhaps they acted as a substitute for protecting him 📿

Although Aya did trip backwards in the second to last performance (when he bumped into one of the ensemble members) 😭

There seems to have been a miss in communication because Hiroki didn't think he was gonna be there when he was

But he handled it like a gymnast doing a backflip

It was the first time he's ever bumped into someone so beautifully 😂

Someone asks where he heard of Shukipi (song by idol group =LOVE) which he referenced as part of the adlib aikotoba when entering Ayame's shop (10.14 matinée performance); it was not intended to be part of the play since it's not in the source material, he was just joking around during rehearsals

It seems he had gotten the OK for from the producers beforehand to reference the title of the song

He's unsure if he did the correct lyrics tho

Apparently Sashihara Rino (producer of =LOVE, previous member of AKB48) came to see the play that day! (Souma Isuzu's actress Nogiuchi Iori is part of =LOVE. Additionally, Honda Tooru's actress Yoshida Ayano Christie is also part of Nogizaka46 which is the official rival group of AKB48 🫢)

Someone asks him how long it took to make the Aya doll but first, as for the "Yuki-chan who loves his brother 100%" cardboard standee, he drew it all by himself after everyone had left the performance hall for the day

He stuck around until closing hour

Since he had about an hour off-stage for each day's performance, he had alot of thinking time

Then the cardboard standee was destroyed in an instant lol

He thought it would've been nice if it had been destroyed by Yuki himself but Kyo is Kyo after all

He was shocked since the cardboard was actually pretty hard

He went to Tokyu Hands by himself to buy the cardboard specifically, then he hired a car to have it delivered (!!) because there was no way he was bringing 180cm cardboard on the train or in a taxi - and he paid it all by himself

It wasn't Aya who fell to his knees on stage, it was all Hiroki 😂

They would pay it if he asked them to, but he did it because he wanted to

He thinks it'd be uncool to have the others pay for every single thing

It might have been better if he spent his money on other props since it was finished off with a single blow, but as long as that moment leaves a lasting impression on alot of people, he thinks it's worth the time and money spent

He's been questioning himself alot for a long time; "what am I doing?"

As for the scene where he held the kabutomushi (Japanese rhinoceros beetle), he doesn't even remember how it came to be

It had only been a few days since they had gotten to the rehearsals (they hadn't even gone through the rehearsals or practiced yet) and on the second day, they were already in costume

He's never done anything in that condition before

They gave him free rein to do pretty much whatever he wanted

He's not sure why he came out with the beetle in that really moving scene but it received lots of laughter during rehearsals

Hiroki himself barely even realizes that he held a beetle, he just wanted to convey that specific line

It was actually a stag beetle apparently - it might have been because Tooru called it a stag beetle in another scene. Maybe Ayame had picked it up first then let it escape

Needless to say, none of this was in the script lol

At one of the performances, there was a man in the audience who did a snorting laugh so Hiroki almost lost his composure

(Note: snort laughing is butappana (ぶたっぱな/豚鼻) which uses the characters for 'pig' and 'nose')

The spotlight had only just hit him but he hadn't said any lines yet

He was happy to receive that response even though it wasn't the right timing

"If I'd laughed in that scene, I wouldn't be a professional anymore"

In that sense, they're really making the performances together with the audience, it's different every time

≫ Tensura and Suehiro:

He mentions snort laughing senpais like Shunri and Yuya - and Yuya truly is a pig nose ww

At the very end in Tensura when Geld begs for forgiveness from the Ogre clan, apparently Yuya found it very funny that his pig nose was basically pressed into the ground 🐽

He seemed to have been struggling quite alot with that nose (not to mention they had to get rid of the tusks before the performances had even begun)

B*z*n and Ts*r*m*r* had the same make-up artist for Suehirogari 🤫

Unless their make-up sessions didn't fall within the same timeslots, he doesn't know who had their make-up done together with who

Someone asks "what about Michu-niki?" and he thinks they meant Murata Mitsu since they said -niki (from aniki; older brother) but they actually meant Hayashi Mitsuaki (Onimaru's actor)

He's not sure if he should say this but he can't help but think Mitsuaki looks like Menjo Kentaro (!!)

He thinks they're both wild, old-fashioned, a bit clumsy, close in age (Mitsu is born in 1990/10 and Menjo is 1990/11), and have similar face structure

He's unsure if he should say things like these but since he's not saying anything bad, moreover he thinks it's positive, it doesn't have to be a secret - everyone go tweet it 👌

He hasn't seen Menjo in a while and he misses him 🥺

He's thankful for all the gifts he received at the bday event 🎁 The ones from Osaka have yet to arrive though

He's got a cardboard box of gifts and letters on the other side of the room

He does remember Ochappachans' faces

If he's completely super honest though, he does not remember names. If one's icon and face matches though, he'll remember

He would like more of us Chaba to have our faces as icons

He might remember if for example, you say your name and show your icon while taking cheki together

He might remember some by their no-face icons though but not all - he will not tell lies

Naturally, he will not remember the faces of first-time event visitors

From his point of view, it makes him happier if someone remembers his face rather than name

Then again, it's not about the length of time but rather the depth of that time spent

Even though he hasn't been able to see us for three years, he was happy to see people coming again for the first time in three years

It's not about what appeals to him specifically, he's just happy about that fact

He then acknowledges the Chaba who come from overseas since there were quite a few at the event this time

That's one of the reason why taking cheki together is such an important time to him because we get to spend time close to each other

His heart is grinning but he apologizes for his tired facial expressions

Someone in the chat mentions how they have still never had any physical contact with him (due to remaining COVID restrictions) and he responds, "aren't our hearts always touching?"

For his next event, he'd like to be able to have physical contact

For the Osaka evening cheki, he had assigned one of the poses as "good heart" (search for グッドハートポーズ) where one does half a heart and the other gives a thumbs up (kind of like a rejection), but because there was a confusion of who would do which pose, it pretty much just ended up like a full heart most of the time 🫶

Many of the Chaba thought they weren't allowed to touch the partition screen or they were too embarrassed to touch it

He wanted to break down the partition screen

Everyone were touching all over with the handcuffs tho

"The handcuffs were great. I liked the handcuffs, personally I liked them alot. It felt like we were connected. The other [poses] were also good, but I thought the handcuffs were really good"

Since he had to avoid cancelling the events at all costs, that's also why he was able to let go a bit on the restrictions in Osaka since he doesn't have anything else planned afterwards

Instead of handcuffs, he had everyone holding the balloon in Tokyo (he held "3" and Chaba held "6")

He hasn't checked his Discord these last couple of days so he might have been logged out (since it's connected to his OpenRec account, which is consequently also the company's account), apparently it takes quite some time to log in

He assures us there are benefits of being subscribed to Gold Membership

He thinks his Discord has been quite lonely recently

He sees everything Chaba write on Discord, even though he doesn't comment often. Of course he checks Twitter too, but Discord is the only platform where he has unrestricted access to a Chaba-only timeline

As for letters (via OpenRec), he's the only one who sees them (but he doesn't think it's good because he doesn't want to make money from it and it costs alot of money to send)

Basically, he doesn't check his Twitter DMs. If he turned on his Twitter DMs, there would be no point in using Discord and he thinks it would be rude for the people who are sending him messages there

If he stops Discord, he'll have to stop doing OpenRec

Since he's not with an agency anymore, he hasn't been receiving many fan letters recently (he looks so sad and lonely as he says this 🥺)

He clarifies that he does indeed read his fan letters!

He's not that drunk rn; he's got work and he's grown - not like before when he was in a disarray during COVID

He's not in works as frequently as he used to be but it all comes down to how important each piece is to him personally

While there may be times that we get to see him frequently, rather than having a fixed number of times we get to see him, it depends on how we spend that short amount time together and he likes to think of how to get the most out of that time

Even if he can't meet us, he's still going to continue to send out messages

If he gets 200 comments on Twitter, he will host a Christmas party on the 25th (he just chose a number at random)

He's been getting less replies on Twitter recently

He might try to do a brief dinner show, although he doesn't have the motivation for it. Since he's not with a management anymore, he probably won't be able to do it

A Christmas party would mean getting rid of this year's Fuyu no Jin
