every single day i'm thinking about that article from the apogee awards slideshow where a 16 year old tony's been "quietly" building dum-e "in a dark corner" of the lab and he's like "it's fun to build something new! i have lots of ideas for changing everyday life. i wanted to win, so i did!" and then half the article is like actually about his dad and comparing him to his dad and just. assumes tony will probably switch from robots to building weapons and it's like. just let him build robots actually. leave him alone i'm so upset

tony's biggest fear coming true, over and over again
alternatively titled: "i watched my friends die. you'd think that'd be as bad as it gets, right? nope. wasn't the worst part." "the worst part is that you didn't."
robert downey jr as tony stark in iron man (2008), iron man 3 (2013), avengers: age of ultron (2015), and avengers: infinity war (2018)

imagine that, in the first avenger, before pre-serum steve's training montage, we get a flashback with sarah rogers to explain his perseverance. imagine that when he goes to save bucky and after losing him, we get flashbacks to them as kids.
imagine that, in civil war, instead of (or along with if that's what it takes) more of tony's daddy issues we also get to see little steve with sarah to also understand him better.
imagine we get more of steve's backstory.

Whenever I'm sad I just remember how Tony whispered "kid" when he was dying because he wanted to spend his last minute with the person he risked everything for, the person he missed during those five years and he just got back just to lose him again.
And Peter probably heard Tony calling him because of his senses, but he didn't wanted to ruin Pepper and Tony's moment.

I'm just gonna say it again real quick:
Yes!! Iron Man is a tragedy! It has and always has been since the very first appearance in 1963 which describes itself, Tony's life, and legacy, as such.
Tony causes most of his issues himself, he is his biggest villain, a majority of his rogues gallery are caricatures of the worst versions of himself brought to life (when they're not just being racist cuz...60s...). The worst thing about being Tony Stark is that he can't stop being Tony Stark (he tried!!) That is the point.
The majority of pain Tony goes through, is pain he inflicts on himself, whether intentionally or inadvertently. That is the point.
He is not A villain (at least. Not usually. There are...some rough moments and arcs that are. Not great. As there is with any character as old as he is). But he is his own main antagonist.

Bucky: Steve, I'm sad. Steve, holds out arms for a hug: It’s going to be okay. Tony: Stephen, I'm sad. Stephen, nodding: mood.

The fact that RDJ is back but there is such a slim fucking chance he'll interact with Peter Parker makes my heart hurt. If they don't, I blame Sony.

Thinking about how soon enough Peter’s going to of been mourning Tony longer than he’d known him

Just because Howard Stark SAID that there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his kid in endgame does NOT get him off the hook for Tony’s entire childhood and they should NOT have had Tony forgive him for that.
Saying something doesn’t excuse your actions that show otherwise.

Steve Rogers as the unknown artist headcanon...
I always have this headcanon that no one knew about Steve's love for art or his talent for painting and drawing. So when they keep finding amazing portraits and paintings of themselves in their purest forms - not their superhero counterparts- but them doing the most mundane things in regular clothing, they get sort of wary that it's some art-themed villain who took the joke too far.
But then one day a stupid villain crashes the Tower through Steve's room and they all burst in ready for a fight, only to see that Steve's already got the guy wrapped in rope and secured to the floor while he grumbles softly, covered in paint, trying to gather what's left of his art supplies.
And Tony almost goes to make a sarcastic quip but Bucky and Natasha stop him when they see Steve's sad little pout as he picks up his broken easel.

I had to stop the iron man 1 watch when I realized that I was going to have to watch the Obadiah couch scene and also when I realized that what I ACTUALLY wanted to watch was iron man 2. fortunately I have a long weekend a to do list and I’m fucking sick again so the incredibly slow nerd watch CONTINUES,
