Leon (Tobias Schäfer) is a teenager navigating the confusing world of puberty and sexuality. things take a wild turn when his genital starts talking, offering unsolicited advice on crushes, desires, and the awkward journey of growing up.

this movie catches me off guard in the best way possible. a comedy about a teenager having conversations with his genital? it sounds ridiculous, and I honestly didn’t expect much, but it works surprisingly well. Hammerharte Jungs is both absurd and insightful, digging into the awkward, confusing moments of teenage life. watching this movie reminds me of my own teenage years. back then, I was definitely clueless and confused about all the sexual stuff. I didn’t think about it as much as I thought about my crushes and trying to figure out if they liked me back. Leon’s journey feels so relatable in that way. it makes me realise that everyone grows up at their own pace, and it’s okay to feel out of place sometimes. the conversations between Leon and his genital are the heart of the story. they are hilarious, yes, but also surprisingly meaningful. they bring up questions I never thought about as a teenager, like how society makes it seem like everyone has everything figured out when it comes to sex and relationships. looking back now, I see how much of it felt like an irrelevant or foreign idea to me back then. this movie captures that confusion perfectly.

what I really love about Hammerharte Jungs is how it flips the typical teenage story. instead of being about chasing popularity or figuring out who’s hot and who's not, it’s about navigating the messy, weird feelings that come with puberty and self-discovery. it’s refreshing to see a movie address how diverse people’s experiences can be when growing up, especially when it comes to discovering sexuality. Leon’s story makes me feel a little less alone, even years later. the talking genital might sound absurd, but it’s a clever way to highlight how we avoid conversations about these experiences. watching Leon struggle with this strange situation feels oddly relatable. everyone has their own weird way of figuring things out, and there’s no right or wrong way to grow up. this movie might not be for everyone. the humour is bold, and the concept is out there, but if you enjoy oddball comedies with a mix of genuine insight about teenage life, this one is worth a watch. it will probably bring back a sense of puberty nostalgia and makes you laugh while reflecting on those awkward growing pains. fun fact: the screenplay is this movie was also co-written by Cosima Henman, who stars in the film as the protagonist's love interest.

final verdict: I think it was okay/watchable

Einstein — new police procedural pilot for CBS
Einstein — new police procedural pilot for CBS
Deadline reports CBS has ordered a pilot for Einstein a new police procedural. As I’ve found by going through back catalogues of various streamers, the market for these shows is ever present, ever renewed and ever enjoyed. This particular pilot is from the Monk team of creator/executive producer Andy Breckman and director/executive producer Randy Zisk. As I said in the link, Monk didn’t work for…

The Hidden 1987 X Blue Velvet 1986
Tom drive to Lumberton, North Carolina, to find the family of Robert Beaumont, the body that Lloyd, or Al Hague, used to go undercover in the FBI. He knows nothing more than that because Lloyd left him before he could explain the whole story. Tom knew that a trip to this town would not help clarify the strange events he had just experienced, and Robert's family would know nothing more than the loss of a loved one. As far as he could tell, Robert was not Lloyd's real identity. And there is probably no one on Earth who can give him the answer except for the two aliens who are not there to answer the question.
Even though everything is over, Tom doesn't know how to deal with his feelings after his partner's death. Tom keeps thinking about it over and over and doesn't know who to talk to without being called crazy. The only thing he has left about Lloyd is information about Robert. So he thought that coming here and explaining everything to the Beaumont family, how this man had been using someone else's name to pose as an FBI agent for days, would be the last thing he could do for the owner of the face that had saved his life.
On the road to Lumberton, he caught sight of a man being beaten up by three thugs, helpless on the side of the road. He didn't dodge, didn't fight back, just took the blows in surrender. Tom slowed down before grabbing his gun. But then he was shocked as the car got closer, when he saw that the bruised face looked exactly like Lloyd Gallagher. The young officer quickly opened the door, got out of the car and ran to help the unfortunate man. They were slightly startled by the arrival of the uninvited guest, but were not intimidated when they saw that Tom was alone. The three men did not release the young man as ordered, and even told Tom not to cause trouble. When they spoke in a language that was not understood, the violence was used instead. Eventually, they got into a car and fled. Tom took this opportunity to drag the young man into the car.
When everything calmed down, he remembered that Robert had a twin brother named Jeffrey. This boy must be the twin. The young man didn't say anything, but just sat quietly with his head bowed. Tom began to question him about who he was. Where is his house? Why was he dragged here to be beaten? and complained about why he was standing still and being beaten like that in a fierce tone. The man sitting next to the driver responded with silence. Tom, who saw this, didn't say anything more. When both parties were quiet, The only answer came from the young man's mouth. As he expected, this man was Jeffrey Beaumont. Tom volunteered to drive him to the hospital because he had planned to meet Jeffrey and his father anyway.
to be continued...

'These chunks of space debris are in an elongated orbit around our sun, but every now and then one of them gets bumped like a billiard ball on a pool table and is knocked into a different orbit.
If this comet continues on its path around the sun and keeps its present course, sometime on August, roughly a year from now, there's a chance that we might have impact.' - beck
