Bōsōzoku culture derives/d from lower class Japanese youth who’ve banded together to express dissatisfaction with Japanese Society.

America is very familiar with countercultural movements lmao. Punk/Grunge/Metal/etc…

Youth are aimless, reckless, and rebellious.

If you’ve ever enjoyed the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton , you know this is a prime example of brotherhood bonds between lower class hoodlums. In Oklahoma, of all places.

Today I plan to point out a few:

Yankii Mothers / YanMaMa; Ryoko Baji

early ’90s, yankii men occasionally entered construction and teen women had children and dropped out of high school — both stereotypes that persist today. *The young yankii mothers — yan mama — were often ostracized by other mother groups and struggled to assimilate to their new identities as parents.

Within a year of publication, Yan Mama Comic had reached of circulation of 120,000, helping to bond socially isolated communities of young mothers.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT FOLKS; Ryoko and Baji’sDad were definitely two yankii teens who fell in love and had a kid too young.

Headcanon! That Keisuke’s parents were set on making a badass life together, and be awesome young parents with the coolest and toughest new punk kid to add to the books!

…But, they were still two idiots. Baji’s father probably ran head first, sacrificing himself in one way or another, I’m sure.

Mikey: all younger siblings admire their older brothers! Shinichiro was the leader of a biker gang, of course Mikey would want to follow in his footsteps! So Mikey’s reason soon turns to::

Shinichiro: By being a overall stand up guy, true to his word and genuine to a fault, he had a strength not a lot of people had. He welcomed friendships with BlackSheep, and made a home for them however he could. Strong ally’s stood by him and as long as he’s around, they would support his ideals in shaping a better future.

Draken: was literally born into it. Escorts have been judged and poorly treated left and right, taking care of yourself—with a child to boot; was hell for a women. Unwanted kids of “filth” aren’t usually welcomed in social circles. The Children bare the injustice of inconvenience. By living with escorts and witnessing first hand the “low-class work” so many have had to endure to make a decent way of life, Draken learned young that life was unfair. So to live, you have to make a way of life for yourself, unapologeticly.

Mitsuya: Poor kids are looked down on a lot. Made fun of for things they can’t control. Kids with jobs are looked down on for being in the working class so soon. With a mother who was never home, and taking care of two younger sisters, he needed strength to deal with how unfair his life was. Meeting Draken, and realizing that the struggle to survive and keep trying to have a family even when it’s hard, he started respecting his mother a lot more. He found a sense of belonging Toman…

Baji: also literally born into it. Grew up with a single mother who was looked down on for being young/dropping out of school. Supporting her as the only Man of the house, Keisuke takes after his mother’s confidence. He also is seen having an alternative sense of fashion, making me believe he is definitely a metal head.

Kazutora: dealt with a lot growing up. He was bullied for being a sheepish pushover. He was hit by his father for any level of individuality /expression of defiance. He was manipulated into always having to pick one right side, and that there was always one wrong side. He tries showing loyalty by giving everything he has to friendships that hurt him, without realizing friends shouldn’t hurt him. No matter who he was, there was never anyone he could just be a person with. Be a part of the perfect high status family you were born into, or face the punishments. He finds comfort when he finds a family he can trust and be a person who makes mistakes. Friends are meant to be treasured. And after meeting Baji, and joining Toman, he found somewhere he could belong.

Pah: I still need to look more into him I can’t lie.

Takemichi: Bozosoku culture is notorious for being social justice fighters, as the entire notion of a subculture is to defy societal injustice anyway. And that’s just who Takemitchi is; a friend to everyone.

Hinata: the prime example of Dating into the lifestyle. It’s easy to admire and possibly fall in love with people as passionate as rebellious, adrenaline junky teens. She’s empathetic to how others see Takemichi, knowing above all else, he loves her more than anything!

Emma: she never really got into being a part of the gang, but she was by association. All of her brothers. She’s always been the crown jewel of TokyoManji! But not only that; Emma isn’t fully Japanese. True, a lot of the cast is multinationality. But she has Mikey on her side. She is his family, and that makes her strong. Foreigners are often ostracized, easy to pick out due to her natural Blonde hair. (*blonde hair is also often an act of rebellion, she showing that she refuses to dye it black to fit in can also say a little about other issues-)

LETS NOT FORGET!!! TOMAN IS BUILD ON THE BACK OF “The Little guy who sticks up for the Weak”.

The series is based on what kind of world Manjiro Sano chooses to build. Every timeline is unintentionally set by his hand, because he is that powerful of a person. Because people follow him. Manjiro is the type of person who changes fates.

By losing Shinichiro; Manjiro loses Empathy.

Shinichiro was a charismatic and empathetic person, often putting differences aside to better the other person. He was a heavily respected person in the delinquent world of Japan as the founder of Black Dragon. He led Black Dragon with a humble heart and was treated with notable respect, while also being a big brother to all three of his siblings. Even though he was a weak fighter, he lead the Black Dragon with his immense charisma. Even years after his death, later generations of members still hold him in high regard.

A person like Shinichiro is the kind of man people follow. The Weak Guy sticking up for his friends; The One who Always Won..

In a subculture seeking structure, he is the perfect person to leading a generation of a kinder and more empathetic people.

So let’s wrap up the question!;

Like your yandere asking you if you love them and you answering yes because Stockholm Syndrome, scared you'll get hurt more or punished and all that bullshit. Then that asshole hits you with the "Then how about we die together? Kill ourselves at the same time while holding eachother?" Cuz they're too tired to live but you huff and say no.

Before they can throw another temper tantrum/punish you you're gonna respond with "The afterlife isn't known at all, whether our souls might find each other there isn't guaranteed either, or if we'll be reincarnated at the same time. So I want to keep living with you for as long as I can and make even more memories. Maybe they'll help me find you again in our next life." And smile.

They turn so red from blushing and probably start crying cuz they think you love them so much, promising they'll make sure you two keep living together for a very long time while cuddling closely to you and clinging for dear life. Apologizing profusely about how they even brought it up and it was so insensitive to ask you to die with them when you wanted to live for such a lovely reason.

Meanwhile you're probably tied to the bed comforting them, with some will to live and escape left in you and you're not gonna let this lover's suicide trope ruin it.

Mikey for sure, that bitch just added 20 more years to his life because of this 💀 especially Bonten Mikey, like you saw light flash in his dead eyes for a minute when you were talking before he broke down crying. Kanto Mikey would break down too, a lot more queitly while clinging to you but he's sobbing and choking out apologies. I'm not even gonna bringing up Toman Mikey/Manila Mikey, cuz we know they'd start crying immediately and probably kneel for forgiveness cuz they wanted to end everything just because they were done with life when they should be greatful for even being able to breath the same air as you since you love them back.

Sanzu too, man just can't believe you actually wanna continue being with him after everything he's done. In Bonten it probably happens after Mikey fell from the roof with Takemichi and now he feels he can't protect you either but how dare you give him another reason to live? Meanwhile with Kanto and Toman Sanzu they fall in love all over again. Tbh they all probably gave you a mocking grin and said "So you finally learned." But bitch even the blind can see how he's shaking and crying without even realizing it. If you say "I love you" after that expect him to break down.

Kazutora, best way to manipulate this yandere hoe is like that, I feel like he turned so red and suddenly drank 247 energy drinks because he can't calm down or even go to sleep when remembering your words. Like do you actually mean that? Really? You love him that much? Is he even deserving of it? He was just about to let both of you rest but now his obsession got worse. Most definitely apologized for one or two hours and kept saying he loved you and would make sure you two lived as much as possible.

Izana, he might end up saying some "So you think I won't find you after we die? I'll drag you to hell with me if I have to!" But it's with a trembling voice and he's still tearing up cuz his abandonment issues are getting lowkey fixed. You wanna stay with him even after he's punished you so harshly? Of course you do, how could he doubt that you would want to die when you could live with him instead? Izana genuinely apologized for even bringing this up -ONE apology though- and he ended up giving you more privileges to breath after, probably began acting softer too.

Senju would have to be at a really low point in her life to ask that of you but you just made her do a 180 because this just confirmed you love her too right? Then as long as you want to live like that she will too! It's easy to escape her but if Senju managed to lock you down and you end up saying that to her??? Please get ready to be somewhat free again because she trusts that you love her and won't escape.

We also have Shinichiro, Chifuyu, Hakkai, Souya, Takemichi and Hinata who would fall for your words but they'd never try to do a double suicide cuz they don't want you to die or get hurt, especially not by them.

Naoto, Kakucho, Inui, Koko, Rindou, Emma, Yuzuha and Shion -Shion is kind of easily manipulated shush- would also never ask you of such a thing because they don't want to die when they have you in their life but there's a 1000% chance they fall for your words and become softer.

Meanwhile people like Draken, Ran, Mitsuya, Taiju, Baji, Muto, Nahoya, Mochi, Benkei and Kisaki are mostly moved by your words, like get that doki doki feeling but it probably was a test and you passed it with flying colors. They also don't trust you that well so nothing much changed other than they don't feel as suffocation as before.

With Hanma, Bonten Koko, Bonten Ran, Wakasa, Takeomi, South and Bad Toman Kisaki it definitely was a test and they don't believe you but are glad to know their punishments are working and you behave so well now/got Stockholm Syndrome.

random tokrev rant ahead !!

when i first started this blog it was going to be for random shitposts, groupchats once in a while, and mostly tokrev analysis but i was so scared of discourse that i just chose to do the funnier stuff 😭. when tokrev was at it's peak i'd be reading 20k+ words of analysis and it was so fun!! but i felt like i couldn't word what i wanted to say properly so that discouraged me but i wish i'd ignored that because there would have been at least one person who understood what i was saying yk?

Okay I had this thought rolling around in my head for awhile, and it's a little spoilery if dont read the manga -

I don't think Hanma likes organized crime as a career.

His whole personality is adrenaline junky. He seeks out fights and violence because it's a challenge. When there was no one on his level, he didn't even like fighting anymore. He was getting bored. Kisaki brings him into the world of gangs, which changes all of that - he's got different people and hierarchies to compete with now. On top of that, Kisaki has this 4D chess game style plot he's trying to run, and he puts Hanma in it. Infinite entertainment.

Even his speech pattern puts him in as being on the quirky end. He has hearts at the end of sentences in the manga to show that strange way he talks. He's a wild and weird kind of guy you can't help but feel curious about.

But during Takemichi's leap, where he meets Hanma as a top leader in the future, Hanma acts the opposite. He's stoic, annoyed with everyone around him, almost quiet in his mannerisms. He's imposing for sure, but is he Hanma? Not really.

It could be credited to "He's an adult, he's not gonna act like a teenager forever" BUT when you compare it to other timelines where we see him in the future, he's different, doesn't quiet loose his edge as much as when he's on par with the yakuza.

Shuji Hanma is not a career criminal. He's a hobbyist at best because it keeps him from getting bored. When it's all he does and it's offices and paperwork and he's not even doing his own fighting, he's bored. It sucks for him. He has no goals at that point, it's tedious instead.

In the final timeline, his personality is in tact. He hasn't really changed in almost 20 years, except a little more mature. He travels constantly and sees new things on the daily. He's doing a form of art as a career, something that only stalls out when you do. And he's happy. Could he still kick your ass? Absolutely. But he doesn't have a need for it now. Because his passion ISNT violence, it's entertainment.

Yandere Bonten Mikey doesn't do the emotionally unavailable shit. He's just pouring out everything to you cuz you're his darling whether you like it or not, no he doesn't care that you might get overwhelmed. When he's in a softer and good mood you can tease him about his height like "Aww you're so cute since you're so short~" Mikey would show a soft smile towards you with flowers around him. You think he's cute? That's cute.

But lowkey if you were a head taller than him Bonten Mikey would always be hugging your arm when you two walk, take the opportunity to lay his head on your shoulder while cuddling said arm whenever he needs to stand. Like someone would be talking business to him and he gets bored? Immediately hiding his face on your shoulder and chest without a word as an indication to be left the fuck alone and makes the situation awkward -if the person starts to talk regardless of that or tries to touch Mikey they're dying-

The lap thing? Most definitely happens. Since you're a lot taller than him Mikey probably knows you'll get uncomfortable if you sit on his lap when he's on a chair. So you switch- he sits on your lap and you sit on a chair but on the couch he makes you sit on his lap. Maybe sideways- if your back is facing him he just loves staring at your Bonten tattoo on the same place as his, kinda admiring his ownership mark. But he likes seeing your face so you either end up sideways or straddling him.

I've mentioned how Mikey loves cuddling the chest and looking up at you. He's usually the small spoon anyways but this makes it better.

Aight Draken 2.0, you got the height? You get to carry Mikey around now. Good luck cuz he immediately reaches his arms out to you and you better pick him up. Or give him a piggy back ride. And as I said in the beginning, if you don't he'll yank you down by your hair and glare, demanding you to do what he wants. He don't care if you're a girl either, have Rindou give you some gym tips so you can gain enough strength to carry Mikey around. You either carry him or have him hang off your arm, depends if he feels sleepy enough or not.

As some of you might already know, I’m a dentist, but still at uni. Sadly, studying dentistry is extremely expensive, and I can’t rely on my parents to pay my fees for me for a few reasons.

The first being that my dad is a heart patient, and can’t work anymore. The pension he receives is literally less than the equivalent of 90 dollars. Of course, that doesn’t provide anything in terms of food and living (we usually can only afford a meal or two a day) except for some of his meds—not even all of them. His health is steadily declining.

My mother is extremely narcissistic and very, very abusive. I’ve gone through hell living with her because I have to, but even she can’t even afford to take care of us because no one wants to hire her at her old age, and she’s used up all her savings on my dad.

I’m also physically disabled, and can’t move around often. I also have to have surgeries every now and then because of the chronic illness I have.

I am in serious, dire need of money, both for my tuition fees, and hopefully to be able to live. I have to keep us afloat until I can get married in a couple of years, since I can’t live alone. Besides, my dad doesn’t deserve to suffer with his heart problems.

I tried working with dentistry last year, and that worked for a while, but this year no one’s hiring due to the terrible state of our economy. I have no skills aside from my writing, so that’s what I’ll have to work with. I’m getting seriously desperate, so I hope you guys understand why I’m doing this, and hopefully feel inclined to offer any support you can—even if not financial, but just by reblogging this post!

— stuck working in a brothel to keep you safe from hunger, you're tasked to entertain a particularly dangerous and influential mafia group. however, you're met with a delicious smell which could only belong to one person, your soulmate...

"take this with you and don't mess up or you'll have some problems with the higher ups", your friend shoved a tray in your hands, her serious eyes looking at you.

the plate was full with tea and other delicacies you had been trained to serve over the past few weeks.

"I heard they're part of a huge business, wouldn't want to get on their bad side honestly", you eye her up, feeling yourself grow more uneasy at each confession. she seemed to catch on your nervousness.

"don't stress y/n, I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job! just breathe and everything will be fine okay?" you nodded hesitantly, readjusting your grip on the tray.

you felt your friend brush her hands through your hair one last time, tightening the fabric on your waist to make it look more snatched the way clients like them usually liked it.

you inhaled deeply, counting on the things you learned alongside the other girls. all you needed to do was look pretty, serve them the tea and stay quiet on one of the corner of the room, until one of them eventually finds you to his liking and takes you to a private room.

you walked through the long hallway, already hearing the shattering of glasses and aggressive discussions, while silently greeting the other omega who just came out.

upon hearing the various voices through the closed door, your confidence died down in the blink of an eye. that would be your first ever night with a costumer and you were deeply afraid of what was waiting for you.

you swallowed nervously the lump in your throat, clearing your throat and mustering the courage you needed. you needed this job, you couldn't fail.

you made sure to keep your scent down, stress making it definitely more sour than what most alphas liked, and finally, you opened the door.

the loud cheers didn't stop and you relaxed a bit when none of them seemed to pay any mind to the new intruder. they were all too absorbed in their conversations to even look your way.

that thought alone should have pushed you further into the room. it should've calmed you down enough that you would walk up to them and put the pastries on their table.

and yet, you did none of that. all too paralysed by the foreign scent, enveloping you as if to prevent you from smelling anything else. it was strong, commanding, but all too comforting to even feel threatening.

you didn't feel like moving, you wanted to remain in the warm embrace of the pheromones casually claiming you without you knowing. it didn't feel suffocating and you would've fight whoever asked you to leave the room.

you breathed in deeply, the room now silent and looking at you. you ignored them, eyes now frantically searching for the source of such a nice scent, and then you found him.

black eyes, long hair and a calm aura surrounding him which made you crave for more, needy for his touch even though you didn't know him.

and then he got up, went up to you and... growled, with anger in his eyes.

kakucho felt disguted.

he never frequented brothels and was sure to keep it that way if only his boss wasn't the one to invite them here.

he watched the other executives already eyeing up the women working there, casually making advances and booking a room for later.

when they sat down around the huge table, workers after workers came in. ran looked ecstatic, loving the way their position could get them such a spectacle, and carefully judged each of them until their plates were full of food.

the meal was calmer, with kakucho's own scent turning bitter the longer he witnessed his colleagues' doings.

then came the desserts. this was over soon. he'd be able to get out of this place full of so many different pheromones it nearly gave him a headache.

kakucho wasn't by any means someone like ran or sanzu, who both easily found pleasure in such displays, loving the way omegas would flock around them and throw themselves at their feet.

kakucho didn't like the lingering looks from the women he obviously didn't intend to spend the night with. he cared too much about his job and too little about his own private life to actually pay any mind to love or sex.

fuck, he just wanted to get it over with so he could go and complete the work he had started a few hours prior to his boss calling him over.

he sat on the side farthest from the door, a strong scent around him to keep the workers away while he finishes his drink.

he didn't hear the door open, he wouldn't have looked at the person entering even if he did hear her.

but her scent.

kakucho was suddenly hit by a mind-blowing sweet scent, the sweetest he had ever smelled. his nose instantly picked up those new pheromones, inhaling deeply to keep the scent close.
