Prev’s tags are too interesting to lose
Also it’s not just tv; it’s movies too I think. Live action American sci-fi/action movies to be specific. I can only think of a couple made since streaming got big that I felt like I actually knew who the characters were, and liked them, and felt like they actually cared about each other. Other genres have this problem too (comedy comes to mind), but none so extreme as in action and sci-fi. Feels like lately it’s all just rewrites of the same script but with different set dressing and they forget that you also have to have characters, not just a half a concept and a tired plot with cgi sprinkles.
I know the characters’ names and maybe a motive if I’m lucky and that’s it. Then one of em dies or is kidnapped or whatever and the other characters are so heartbroken and like… did they even know each other? Cause they met like a day ago and haven’t had a single conversation longer than a couple minutes, and they only talked about Plot Things.
There are some standouts obviously, The Equaliser series comes to mind, but it’s the exception, not the norm
I don't know what those '90s sci Fi TV writers were putting in their shows but I wish they'd start doing it again
#I don’t really watch a ton of tv#but I rewatch shows A LOT#mainly ones from the 2000’s and 2010’s#ATLA and The Librarians are my favs but I also rewatch Castle and the Ziva seasons of NCIS a lot#and the latter two tend not to have filler episodes per day but they do have eps that focus more on the B-plots compared to usual#but like…. I’ve *tried* to get into more modern shows#trust me I TRIED#but they’re just so fucking serious about everything#it makes it hard to like any of the characters#like okay but when are you gonna tell me about yourself#oh nooo they have a tragic backstory and/or a job#cool but what do you do for fun? what Str your hobbies? what are you like when the world isn’t ending?#and for the love of GOD just fucking talk to someone about something that isn’t plotty#character A will be kidnapped and character B reacts like someone killed a dog in front of them#and I’m sitting there like ‘since when are you friends????’#I think that anime does a better job at capturing what used to make tv fun and good and enjoyable#while still having more variety in length#for example: Sk8 the infinity is short enough to watch in one sitting and still get groceries the same day#toilet bound hanako kun is a bit longer but still short#my hero academia is long#one piece is scary and probably a bigger file size than most video games in its entirety#the first two examples are also things I rewatch constantly (BNHA used to be but lately I’ve been not as obsessed)#and I’d like to say that movies aren’t exempt from this problem either#one could argue that the length makes it hard to flesh out relationships while still having a strong plot and I’d like to raise you:#animation.#some examples of movies that make me believe these people are friends:#rise of the guardians; SpiderMan: spiderverse (both movies); all the how to train your dragon movies; and more#but I’d be hard pressed to list many live action American movies off the top of my head; especially any made after streaming got popular#like yes there are a lot but compared to the vast number of movies being made?#especially action and sci-fi movies

Hi sweetie <3! I'm not sure if your request still opened but in that chance i was wondering if you can do a Shigaraki, Tanaka(Haikyuu), Reki, Hanako kun and Kaeya with a male reader who is like, shorty and likes soft things¿ if there are to much characters is enought Hanako and Tanaka, thnks!(srry if is badly worded, i just still learning English •w•) take your time ^^
I've never written for Sk8 or Toilet bound so I'm super excited for this one! And yes my requests are open and will always be open!! Sorry this took a little while I've been a bit busy. Hope I did good <3
Included: Shigaraki, Tanaka, Reki, Hanako, and Kaeya x Short!Soft!Male reader!
Tumblr media
Tomura Shigaraki
"You look..cute." Need he say more? Your fashion choices were different than what people saw as "masculine"
These are the things that drew him to you. You gave off a different aura than others. He loved you for that.
If he could stop time just to sit and stare at you he would. "Thank you Tomura.." Your voice was soft yet truthful.
Once he fixes the world, he will make sure you will get everything you want- no, deserve. You are his king.
You being his king is clearly shown when you leave the base. You don't get yourself involved with the LOV mostly because of you safety. He worrys every second your gone. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. He has many enemies and people looking for him, people definently know about you.
He dearly cares about you and your safety. He would do anything to protect you, even if it cost him his life.
Tumblr media
Ryūnosuke Tanaka
You are his god. Everything you do sends butterflies into his stomach. Everytime you walk into the room he suffocates.
He will make a scene everytime you walk into a room, was he wrong to do so? No. You were absolutely stunning, you turned heads everywhere you went. Sometimes it would be people judging your appearance, Tanaka would not let tbat slide.
No one could disrespect you, if you ever got upset he would take you shopping to buy anything you'd like. Your room would fill with cute objects that fit you aesthetic.
Tanaka knew he was lucky to have you, and he would always treasure that. Seeing you was all the proof he needed to know he had one at life.
His handsome god gleaming in the moonlight was a sight he never knew he always needed.
Tumblr media
Reki Kyan
Ever since you started dating he would try to teach you to skate. Everytime you tried you got hurt.
He made you a skate board that was a beautiful pastel pink and blue, it had a cute bunny on the bottom aswell. Even though you had a board you were too scared to skate
Slowly you got better, you took a lot longer than he did to learn to skate. He was proud of you when you fi ally got all the basics and few tricks down.
You were never alowed to go to "S" with him. When he would tell you the storys of what happened you'd feel bad that you weren't there, but you knew you shouldn't go for many reasons.
Even though you couldn't go to "S" he still introduced his skate family yo you. It contains his best friend, a middle schooler, and three adults. Lets say it was concerning at first.
Reki would invite you to skate with him and his family sometimes. Everytime you came Langa would complement your fashion, skateboard, and tricks.
Reki would get jealous a lot, but knew Langa only Meant well. You slowly became apart of this family and became a skater at "S"
Tumblr media
Yugi Amane/Hanako-kun
"You look adorable!" He loved the way your soft style of clothing looked next to his dark uniform.
It was a blessing that you found him. Ypu would help Nene and Kou clean the bathroom and Amane would always mess with your hair/Shirt. He thought you were the most perfect thing in the world.
It took him a while to feel comfortable introducing you to his brother. When he did Tsukasa was so offended that it took so long for you two to meet. None the less he thought you were perfect for his older brother.
He liked bringing you to boundaries with him and his friends. He would always protect you from anything attacking. You were his number one concern.
You would always leave boundaries unharmed thanks to Hanako. He never wanted this to end.
Too bad humans grow up, and ghosts don't.
Tumblr media
Kaeya Alberich
Compliments, it seems the only words he knew were words that would boost you ego. You never minded, you found them cute.
Along with all the nicknames and compliments, he would buy you everything you could ever want. He was the Cavalry captain after all.
All the bights loved you, amber especially. She thought you were adorable and perfect for Kaeya.
Dilucs thoughts of you were not great at first. You were dsting his brother, the brother he Hates.
Well, no matter what he said truly all he wated you to do was take care of Kaeya. He cared about him, not that he would ever say that to anyones face.
Take care of Kaeya for him.
Make Kaeyas life have a hapoy ending, okay?

Feeling Towards Christmas
A small oneshot made on a whim. I just had this idea and decided to go with the flow. I know it's a bit late for Christmas, but I hope you guys enjoy it! Also, Merry Christmas!
Fandom: Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
Pairing: Hanako x Nene
Summary:  One day, Nene decides to ask Hanako a question about Santa Claus. As these two, who secretly long for each other, engage in idle talk, their goals for Christmas become a bit more apparent.
Ao3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/28363623
--------
One week before Christmas...
That day, during her sweeping duty, Nene called Hanako.
“Say, Hanako-kun.”
“Hm?”
Hanako, who was playing cards with the Mokke, stopped to stare at his assistant.
“Does Santa Claus exist?”
At her question, he let a small chuckle.
“Do you still believe in Santa Claus, Yashiro~?”
“No! I mean, maybe? I just figured that if supernaturals exist, Santa Claus might exist as well.” She tried to explain. “I mean, during this time there are lots of stories about Santa Claus, right? Wouldn’t one pop up randomly in our school?”
Placing the cards down, Hanako finally decided to focus on Nene’s question. He floated over, ignoring the protests of the Mokke who were about to win.
“Well, usually that’d be the case, but not with Santa Claus. He’s a high-ranked spirit, close to a god, you could say. He wouldn’t allow cheap copies to exist.”
“So he does exist!”
“Yep. Also, he’s born from rumors all around the world, not just from a specific location, so even the Kamome stories about him go to the original Santa Claus. There’s no way one would be born here, that’s how powerful he is.”
“A god…” Nene looked down, thinking about the god from her school. Could it be something similar? “Wait, if that’s the case, shouldn’t he follow the rumors? Why don’t we get actual presents from him?”
“Yashiro, no matter how powerful he is, he can’t grant everyone’s wishes. Santa Claus is fair, so instead of attending just a few in this world, he decided to leave everything up to the humans. Plus, like I said, he’s a high-ranked spirit, rumors don’t really affect his duty, just his existence.”
She thought for a bit. It made sense; some people made outrageous wishes. Even she, as a child, once asked for something rather difficult.
‘I want my own reverse harem   - Nene’
But if Santa Claus existed, did that mean he actually had seen what she wrote?
“No waaay!”
Nene covered her face, mortified. Suddenly, her embarrassing memory of a distant past became much, much worse.
“Yashiro~ Are you alright?”
As Hanako poked her shoulder, she took a deep breath, trying to feign ignorance towards his question.
“I’m fine, what are you talking about? A-Anyways, Hanako-kun is really knowledgeable. Have you met Santa before?”
“No, I haven’t, but he’s really popular among the spirits, so you hear a lot about him.”
“I-I see.” Nene frowned. Sometimes it was really difficult for her to grasp how vast the supernatural world could be. Every time she thought she had seen or heard everything, something new would appear.
Then again, she would never regret learning about it. After all, that was the world Hanako belonged to. And, because he was there, she was willing to be part of it as well.
Hanako, noticing Nene’s silence, floated around her, a bit concerned.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, before deciding to lighten the mood. “Ah, are you sad because you won’t get a present from Santa Claus himself? You don’t need to worry about that, Yashiro, I can be your Santa instead!”
“Ah?” Nene suddenly felt shy. Why did her heart flutter upon hearing that?
Of course, Santa Claus was someone who granted people’s wishes and made them happy. If Hanako was saying he’d be her exclusive Santa Claus, then—
‘Don’t go there, Nene! He’s just teasing you, don’t fall into his pace!’
Nene shook her head vigorously, as Hanako held a chuckle. He probably thought her reactions were funny, didn’t he?
“Hanako-kun will never be Santa Claus. That’s because Hanako-kun’s wishes always come with a price. If you’re willing to grant a wish without a price, then we can talk about it.”
“Then what kind of wish are you thinking of asking.” Hanako raised an eyebrow, curious.
“Please, relieve me from the cleaning duty!”
“Denied!” He laughed, using his arms to create an ‘X’.
Nene sighed. It seemed that the birth of ‘Santa Hanako’ was short-lived. Once her duty was mentioned, he gave up on it in a matter of seconds.
“Hanako-kun, are you a high-ranked spirit too?”
“Hm? I’m not exactly high-ranked. I’d say middle-ranked?”
Nene crossed her arms. “But you see, high-ranked spirits don’t have their duties affected by the rumors as much as other kinds of apparitions, right?”
“Well, that’s true, but why are you asking that?” Hanako, in confusion, asked her.
“Because you’re always slacking at work! I’ve never seen you do your job as ‘Hanako-san of the Toilet’ ever since I became your assistant!”
“I mean, business has been slow, nowadays—”
Hanako averted his eyes, as Nene narrowed hers further.
“Then at least don’t dump all your extra work on me, geez!”
He blinked at her sudden outburst and covered a tiny laugh.
“Fine, fine~ Since this is your Christmas wish, I’ll relieve you from your duty this week. Of course, this comes with a price~”
Of course, there was always a price. She should have expected that.
“What do you want?”
There was no response. Once Nene met his eyes, she noticed he was averting his look once again. This time, his cheeks were slightly pink.
“Ha-Hanako-kun?”
“...sent…”
“Sorry, come again?”
Why was he acting like that so suddenly? She couldn’t understand.
“A present...A Christmas one.”
“Ah—”
Once again, a wave of silence hit them. Nene was dumbfounded by his request, while Hanako just gauged her reaction.
Then, he laughed, dismissing his previous statement.
“Just kidding, I’m a ghost, so I don’t really anythin—”
“Of course I’m giving you a present! I was going to anyway! That’s a given!”
“Huh?”
“Did you really think I wasn’t going to give you anything?”
Nene pouted. Of course there was a present. His present was the one she put most effort into. Even more than her own parents’! For weeks, she has been trying to knit a scarf. Maybe she was even knitting it a bit longer than the normal, so they could share it together. Giving his gift was what she was looking forward to the most during Christmas.
Hanako scratched his head, with a slightly bashful look. Such a reaction made her feel embarrassed too. Seeing him having such a genuine reaction over the mere mention of a gift was rather unexpected.
Finally, she decided to open her mouth, even if just to break the ice.
“S-So look forward to it, okay?”
Once that was said, Hanako stared at her for a while, still surprised. Eventually, he let out a sigh and his expression changed into a large smile.
“Geez, I never expected my assistant to be so thoughtful!”
“What do you mean by that!”
“Then, I’ll give you something too. For free this time.”
Now it was Nene’s turn to be surprised. “R-Really? What is it?”
“It’s a secret!” Hanako approached his assistant, moving his head closer to her ear. “So look forward to Christmas, okay~?”
“Wha—!!”
Considering the way the last sentence was spoken in a low tone and how he winked at her after that, she couldn’t help but let her fantasies go haywire. Her face became a tomato and she felt way too warm, considering it was winter.
Deep inside her heart, Nene vowed to double her efforts with the scarf and make it big enough to fit two people, but small enough so they would have to cuddle. She didn’t care whether what Hanako said was just him teasing her or not. She was truly looking forward to spending Christmas with him.
After all, Christmas was also a day for romance, right?

i wrote another short fic fckedkskakhd
also available on my AO3!
this isn't the best fic out there, but i just wanted to experiment with fluffy writing. i hope you like it!
~~~
Welp, this isn't good. It wasn't a convenient time for this to be happening. Just as she was about to wash her hair, Yashiro noticed that there was no more of her favorite shampoo left. "Come on, at a time like this? I just wet my hair, too!" She knew well that whining wasn't going to do her any good, but she couldn't help it. I guess I'll check the storage closet if there's any...
She twisted her light blond hair with teal ends to remove as much water as she could to prevent it from dripping when she walked outside. After securing her loose hair in a tight bun at the top of her head, she grabbed the towel that was hanging off the rack and wrapped it around her body.
Because it was humid in the bathroom from the water's heat, outside the living room was like a fridge. The apparent icy air brushed over her skin, until she reached the closet. Upon opening it, there was none to be seen. But the deeper she looked inside, she had found something: the shampoo that she had stored for a very long time. There wasn't a lot of it used, for a very good reason. Whenever she put it in her hair, the minty scent was so strong that it stung her eyes a bit. Of course while it did smell good, she didn't use it for that reason. This shampoo is better than no shampoo, I guess...
Yashiro took the bottle and quickly ventured back into the bathroom, now not used to the humidity since she had just been outside the bathroom. She didn't let it bother her though, she just took off her towel and hung it up again. Loosening her bun, she began to work the magic on her hair.
It had been the next day, and she was waiting for her last period to end before heading to clean the bathrooms. "Alright class, you may begin to pack your things." Everyone stood up as the teacher told the class their homework, exiting the doorway with excited commotion of getting to go home (except Yashiro, of course).
"Hanako-kun!" the ruby eyed girl beamed upon calling the boys name, with a smile on his face upon seeing her as well. "Hey, Yashiro." Getting the cleaning supplies out of the storage closet, she walked over to the sink and filled the bucket with water. While it wasn't surprising, Hanako had hugged her from behind once she had set down the bucket. "H-Hanako-kun? What's wrong? Did someth--woah!" The shorter boy walked towards the wall, with the girl still in his grip. Her surprised squeaks made him want to stick closer to her even more. "Just hold still."
As he turned the both of them around in a 180° angle, they collapsed onto the floor. Hanako's head was positioned on her shoulder near her neck. It tickled slightly whenever he spoke. "You changed your shampoo." Ah, so he noticed.
"I had no choice. I ran out of my other one, so I had to use this." Of course this one smelled good too, but the amber eyed boy enjoyed the peachy smell better. He played with locks of her hair, enjoying the softness of it. A soft blush painted over her cheeks. Then, out of nowhere, the boy placed small, fluttery kisses on her neck. They were very brief, but they lingered. The touch gave shivers down her spine, letting out tiny gasps at the irresistible sensations.
He's being unusually flirty today....this feels good but it's a little too much...! She wanted to say something, but she could only say little stutters of his name as she was now blushing profusely. Then, he lifted his head from where it was positioned and stared at her ruby eyes. "Did you like it?" At this point, her body felt like jelly and she didn't know how to respond. "I-I...I--" He was laughing at her attempts to speak. "You seem like you enjoyed it. You naughty daikon..." he was waving his finger at her.
You'll pay for this...! And just one second after he floated away, Kou walked into the bathroom. "Hanako! Senpa--" he stared at the blushy mess that was named Yashiro Nene. "Senpai...? Hanako, what did you do to her?" Hanako looked at him and smirked. "I don't know...I was just being nice to her, saying her hair smelled nice." The blond boy didn't seem to believe that, so for a few seconds he tried to whack the boy on the head. And just like that, our beloved heroine Yashiro Nene was no longer able to stand for five minutes.
Winter 2020: First Impressions  - the rest of the shows
Haikyuu!! To the Top! (S4) - What can I say about this show, it’s more Haikyuu!! It’s absolutely fantastic. This is a bit of a slow-burner so far, very reminisce of season 1 so far, a lot of learning and training. It might seem to be a bit of a let down after the action-sakuga-fest that was all of season 3, but character growth is just as important and despite it being a number of years since season 3, the story picks up right after that insane high, so the flow of the story needs to reset its equilibrium. So a but of a slow lul is important before the boys to go Tokyo to kick ass!
Isekai Quarted (S2) - I mean, it’s more of the same except with the shield hero and gang in the other classroom. If you liked season 1 you’ll still like it, if you didn’t then don’t bother watching. That said, I love it.
In/Spectre (Kyokou Suiri) - This is definite my surprise show of the year. It’s so fucking good! It’s one of those shows like Bunny Girl Senpai of last year that lives or dies on the quality of it’s conversations rather than any action or sakuga. And dear lord does it deliver. The MC is so freaking adorable, I love her. Please watch.
RikeKoi - I’m getting serious Wotakoi vibes from this show. There are so few shows that are about adults or college students that honestly I’ll take anything that has this age range. And as a comp/sci graduate myself, I can’t help but love these complete dorks. And holy fuck main girl is perfect. A ponytail that moves on its own, an absolutely banging bod, and tights that remind me of Miru Tights. It’s a masterpiece and the two MCs are fantastic together. Please watch.
Infinite Dendogram - This and Bofuri are the 2 VRMMO shows this season and honestly Bofuri is the clear winner of the 2. In fact Bofuri is in my top 5 of the season. This one might be lower than Darwin’s Game which is an edgy death game show, so that’s not a great rating. It’s not exactly bad but it feels like it’s wasting the potential of the shows setting by focusing so hard on fairly bland MC and his maid weapon AI partner. I’ll probably keep watching it, and I hope it improves, but it probably won’t. At least it looks pretty good.
Nekopara - Cat girls. What more is there to say? Considering this is from an eroge where the goal is to fuck the neko girls, this show is surprisingly tame and wholesome. Definitely one worth watching.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-san - The art-style in this show is very unique. It feels like there isn’t actually a whole lot of animation in the show, because the show is presented to us in frames of animation where the rest is beautiful art background. The story is almost secondary to the visuals, but it holds up in its own right. A very good show and should be seen.
Dorohedoro - Man, I so wish that this show could get the amount of eyeballs it deserves, but alas, it is in Netflix jail. That said, there are some quality fansubbers taking it on this season and for that I am very glad. The art and character designs are so fucking unique I hardly know what to say other than please watch it. It’s one of those shows where you’re not entirely sure what exactly is happening, but you know you definitely want, nay, need to keep seeing more of it. Watch it now if you can, or at the least when Netflix releases it from Jail.
Ishuzoku Reviewers - This show is a show of true culture. I’ve been saying ever since I heard it was getting an anime adaptation that I can’t believe it’s getting an anime adaptation. I read the manga, I knew what it was about. It’s a group of adventurers traveling around and trying all the brothels of the different species of succu-girls. Turns out the anime decided to make this a hentai, but without the direct penetration shots. Episode 3 though, that took things to another level. This was being aired on funimation as a censored version that was basically unwatchable, so I’ve been surfing the high seas to find high quality uncensored versions. And they exist, and they are absolutely fantastic. However, apparently funimation forgot to look into what the hell the show was before they promised to not only air the show, but also to provide a dub. Cause after the first episode dub attempt they completely dropped the show. There’s still 8 episodes left, so hopefully a fansub group or two will step up and champion the cause.
A Destructive God Sits Next To Me - I’m normally down for wacky chunni shenanigans, but I just couldn’t get through the first episode, so it got dropped.
Smile Down the Runway - I really wasn’t sure what I was going to think about this show. It’s about a girl whose dream is to be a supermodel for her dad’s clothing agency and walk down the catwalk during Paris Fashion Week, but she’s too short. It’s also about a boy she meets at school who just wants to be a fashion designer and loves to make shows. I did not expect that the show would pull a bait and switch and for the majority of the focus to be on the boy and not the girl. I also did not expect to be shedding a few tears by episode 2 because I was so emotionally invested already. It went from a show I was unsure about, to being a show I’m now going to be eagerly looking forward to each week.
Hatena Illusion - If I had to drop another show, it would be this one. It doesn’t really do anything great, but it’s not offensive in anything and is at least moderately enjoyable. Plus, I started it so now I feel like I have to finish it. But I don’t hate it. A solid 5-6/10.
Natsunagu - I wasn’t able to find an english sub version of this and the reviews I did see said it was mediocre at best. So this show never got started.
Now for a few thoughts about the continuing shows I’m watching:
My hero Academia S4 - The Overhaul arc was a slow burn that led to a spectacular explosion with some insane hype levels and some very hard emotional hits. I’m glad we’re now headed into the Culture Festival arc as the show feels like it needs a little bit of lightheartedness to get us back to a good equilibrium.
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun - This arc feels like it’s kinda spinning it’s wheels and dragging things out longer than needed, but these characters are so fun that it’s fine.
Ahiru no Sora - Moar backetball!! This show is just a solid sports anime. Can’t wait to keep watching. It’s a full adaptation with 50 episodes and only 16 or so have aired.
Babylon (The last couple episodes) - Talk about shitting the bed. The ending of this show ruined so much setup and promise. It leaned hard into the philosophical and should have leaned into supernatural. Such a disappointment.
Kabukichou Sherlock - This show continues to be a pleasant surprise every week. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.
Blade of the Immortal - I’m a bit behind, but this show continues to deliver.
Re:Zero Director’s cut - Damn, I actually forgot how much I actually like Re:Zero. It’s a masterpiece that I had somehow forgotten was a masterpiece because of how I binged it when it originally aired. This double episode format is honestly even better. The first season I continuously wanted more and more, but with a double length episode every week, I feel like I’m getting just enough to satiate me until the next week. I’m sad that come the spring it’ll be back to 1 normal length episode a week lol.
