What’re your characters’ mbti type?

You asked me such a simple question, Anon, but I've been struggling with it for hours lol MBTI lacks nuance, so I constantly thought that "my boy has much more personality than that! This description barely suits him!" Not to mention that people's choices for grouping characters that, in their opinion, belong to those types are so weird and questionable… But enough of my whining about that.

Edmund was easy enough - he's INTJ, without any doubts. He might sliiightly remind of INTP, maybe.

Ned is ISTJ. He was also easy to figure out, and the description fits him nicely.

Then my struggles started. Niall is someone like ESFP?.. He's definitely extroverted, observant, thinking and prospecting, but the description for the Entertainer sounds so off 😭 Although not the worst one and gets some of the aspects right.

Liam, in his typical fashion, is a fucking enigma and a pain in the ass because he doesn't follow any rules orz not even mine. I can describe him as introverted, observant, and that's when I lost him. Feeling? Yeah, that's what he'd like you to think. Or more so that's what you'd think without knowing him well. And then judging… I guess. So, the answer would've been ISFJ, but it's just awful and doesn't suit him at all. I'm so sorry 🥲

However, I can describe his type with a bunch of other characters. Maybe you're familiar with some of them, so it'll help you to understand him better. Just imagine them united by the same mbti-type: Nagito Komaeda (Danganronpa), Fuji Shusuke (Prince of Tennis), Tohma Seguchi (Gravitation), Jade Leech (Twisted Wonderland), Russia (Hetalia), maybe Vincent from Silent Hill 3? Idk.

The funny thing is, I actually had their types in mind when coming up with characters - that being said, it was for the classification we have in Russia, socionics - it's a pseudoscience which has the same concept in its base. I like it much more in this case, and have 0 problems with putting my boys into neat little groups from there. They don't really correspond to MBTI types, despite the article probably stating otherwise (I haven't read it).

Gravitation, Track Two

In which Shuichi has a second meeting with his mystery man/ unprovoked critic and invites him to his performance, determined to prove him wrong.

Back again with the second chapter. Things start moving along faster in the second chapter. And it also gets pretty damn funny. Again, the translation continues to be hit-or-miss, with some really great lines, but also a lot of unnecessary additions. A little thing to point out because I’m petty: the spelling of Seguchi’s name. It starts off here being romanized Toma, eventually they settle spelling it Tohma for most the series, but in Ex they decide to use Touma. That last one is probably the most proper/accurate using the most modern translation/rominizing techniques, but it’s the inconsistency that drives me nuts.

Hey hey, welcome back to the 00′s hell.

I just binge rewatched Gravitation and felt like paying homage. It’s been what, 12 years now? I first saw it in 2006 I think, and it’s been a major influence on me as a person.

2006 was also the year I started speaking of myself as he/him and it’s no coincidence. So let me tell you a little story. C:

I belonged to a friend circle that didn’t just cosplay, rather took on characters as their own.. Avatars, so to say? Personalities? Lifestyles? We used to refer to each other by the chosen char names, it was about finding a character that you fully relate to and becoming it? Sorta? It didn’t go to a crazy extent and remained within our community, but ofc we had some subtle visual resemblance, like appearance and manners. So I used to go by Tohma for several years. In the very first year, 2006, I felt extremely “right”, comfortable in this role, I spoke of myself as he/him for the first time. It helped me realize my identity. Now that I look back more carefully, I see that I was already drawing close to it, years before Gravitation, but being in that friend circle and ��becoming” Tohma finally let me fully discover that. It’s been 12 years since then. Part of that “being Tohma” still remains in me, making me who I am. C: Even if that’s partly fanon/made up traits, I still feel so familiar with Gravitation world and characters, it feels like home, like my core.

So.. Who’s with me since those old times? :B
