I very recently hit a follower milestone (!!!!!) and am going to celebrate by 1.) aiming to have fics ready for this event! 2.) dipping my toes in other fandoms (hello mcu, tog, and acotar!) 3.) and never leaving my og loves - aemond, rhaenyra, and harwin - behind!

I got the easy part (the pairings) done! Now it's time to get my thinking cap on to brainstorm and get to writing! Most of the hotd fics will be a modern AU with the exception of one canon era, and the others will be their canon era ♥

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

229, which include any fic I've written going back to 2002. About 30 of those works are vids instead.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

1,518,992! I just passed the 1.5mil mark with my last fic, and am very pleased with that. Especially because I remember only passing the 1mil mark early on in TOG fandom, so I've written quite a lot of those words just in the past few years. (By my standards, at least, that's a lot!)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Many. I am very multifannish at heart. I tend to settle into one primary fandom for a few years at a time, but even then, I'm still writing the occasional oneshot for random other fandoms. Most recent primary fandoms were The Old Guard and X-Men, most recent fic posted was for Heartstopper (and I'll likely linger in that fandom for a bit now that I'm here).

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Logical Deduction (HP, Remus/Sirius) - a very silly fic from 2006 that has, to my mild dismay, somehow risen the kudos ranks (6245 kudos?!) by virtue of the sheer enormity of HP fandom. So it goes.

it's like one of us woke up (X-Men, Charles/Erik) - XMFC canon divergence / fix-it fic. I'm still unsure why this is my most popular Cherik fic, but I'm not mad about it.

she's the one that they call old whatsername (Star Trek AOS, Kirk/Spock) - my only non-crossover Trek fic, and always-a-girl!Kirk to boot. I do love this one, still.

The Pond Continuum (Doctor Who, Amy/Rory) - in which Amy and Rory unwittingly encounter various other companions as they live out their post-Doctor life on the slow path. I am fond.

life is very long (Old Guard, Nicky/Joe) - my first TOG fic, posted like a week after the movie hit fandom like a ton of bricks, and reaping the kudos benefits of being in the right place at the right time. It was a good entry point into a new fandom for me, for sure!

I do love that my top 5 are all completely different fandoms; that feels very reflective of me as a writer. (Top 6, actually, since #6 is MCU.)

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes, always, if only with a quick thanks. Because I really appreciate receiving them, and want the commenters to know.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

The angstiest ENDING? I have to dig deeper into the past for those, because I was more prone to writing them when I was much younger. These days, while I do enjoy a bit of angst along the way, I NEED a happy ending. Probably one of my old Remus/Sirius fics, but I'm not going trawling for a link now.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of them, lately. I need to believe in happiness. Fandom is my escapism from an increasingly grimdark reality.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Very rarely, fortunately. Let's keep it that way. The backbutton is right there if you don't like any of my fics, no hard feelings.

9. Do you write smut?

Not really? Sex scenes, yeah, sometimes, but I've only got 4 fics (out of 229) rated as Explicit, and honestly, glancing over them now, they probably only really warrant an M rating. I have no interest in describing bits and bodily fluids in graphic detail, I don't personally find that sexy. But sex is a significant element of human connection for many folks, so yeah, I'll include it where it feels appropriate.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yes, though I prefer fusions (characters from one verse written into another) to more literal crossovers (character A from fandom A meets character B from fandom B). But I've certainly written a few. They're fun!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, several! I'm always excited and honored when that happens.

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Nope, never. I'd be curious to try that out someday, though honestly, writing is such a private/internal activity for me that I'm not sure I'd be any good at it.

14. What is your all time favorite ship?

I do NOT play favorites in this way. I love all my OTPs in all their unique and individual ways, and I'll always happily revisit them years and years later (as a reader, at least). Here, let's just say that Mulder/Scully was my very first ever OTP, so they will always have a special place in my heart.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I've never abandoned a WIP once I've started posting it (though a couple took YEARS to finish, ugh), so really, now we're just looking at my personal WIP folder in gdocs. There are a few in there I'm sad about leaving unfinished. Um, let's go with an old Doctor Who/Torchwood fic, which I've got like 15k words written for but have long since moved on from. Every few years I'll dig it up and reread what I wrote and quietly mourn the fact that I never finished it, but there's no way I'll ever get back into that particular headspace (and the fandom is a very different place now).

16. What are your writing strengths?

Character voices. I'm a good mimic.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Sex scenes/action scenes. I despise writing these. Smut I avoid, but action scenes are sometimes necessary, and they drive me up a fucking wall.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language during a fic?

If it's just a few words/brief phrases sprinkled in, because that's how the character in question would speak, great. If there's extended dialogue - well, still depends on the character POV to me. If the character DOES speak the other language, I'd write it out in English (since that's the language I write fic in) and indicate through the narration that they're actually speaking Italian, or French, or what have you. If the POV character does NOT speak the language themself but is overhearing it, I don't include the dialogue at all, just narration to describe it. It's all about whose POV we're in and what's actually being understood, to me.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

X-Files. You will not find those fics on my AO3. I was very young then.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

NO FAVORITES. TOO MANY FICS. My most recent fic is usually my current favorite, anyway, so have one last plug for and we have all the time in the world (to get it right) if you're into Heartstopper, and let's move on. 😉

Having the weird feeling that Netflix will now use the opportunity to drop The Old Guard 2 without any major promo and then cancel the whole universe, because „It didn’t had enough viewers“

I was here before: when Disney drop New Mutants - FOX last X men movie with MAJOR LGBTQ representation in an international action movie - in the middle of a fucking PANDEMIC. And then said: look the movie was a major flop. Good thing we cancelled the x men universe and bought fox“

And MCU Stan’s even picked up that explanation and till today I have to listen to MCU dudebros saying; „FOX obviously didn’t knew what to do with the x men movies. Good thing Disney bought them. Look what FOX did to Dark Phoenix and New Mutants.“

And IF Netflix does the same with TOG 2 I will throw hands with them!

Hello and Welcome to the Tea Party! ☕️🫖

As stated in the mini bio, I’m 1/2 American, 1/2 Italian (si, parlo tutte due lingue ☺️). I’m also a huge Disney and Marvel fan. I used to be a huge super fan of Star Wars, but I left the fandom after Disney bought it. I still love most of it and celebrate May 4th, I’m just not active in it. I’m a big history buff, preferring to stay in the 1600-1790’s, mainly the Golden Age of Piracy and the American Revolution. I LOVE dragons (kind of an unhealthy obsession at this point, but you can never have enough dragons in my opinion) and am a big fan of the Eragon series. Recently, I’ve started to get more into book fandoms such as ACOTAR, TOG, FBAA, Fourth Wing, etc., so you might see me lurking over in those areas. However, I tend to bounce back and forth between different fandoms depending on my mood. I am over 21, but I would prefer not to disclose my age.

To clarify, I’m not a fanfic writer, but I am an avid fanfic reader. Please do not expect me to post stuff, I’m mostly using this account to be able to connect better with the fandoms that I am a part of.

As mean as it sounds, I will block people who have nothing more than a profile pic because of the scary amount of bots there are on this platform. It’s nothing personal, I’m just watching out for my own safety. James Bond—I’m here for Q. Desmond Llewyn was absolutely brilliant (fun fact, he was in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as well); I totally don’t recite the line about the grenade pen all the time. Ben Whishaw is at a very close second.

Austenland—Fantastic. I watch this every time I need a good laugh.

The Eragon Book Series—I refuse to watch the movie, as this is my all time favorite book and book series and I don’t want to ruin it for myself. Favorite characters being Angela, Murtagh, Sapphira, Solembum, Eragon, and Brom. I will occasionally read Murtagh x reader fanfics, but there are so few of them, that I read most of them years ago.

Harry Potter Series—Both books and movies. I also like the Fantastic Beast series. I’m going to be blatantly honest; I’m here for the dragons and Charlie Weasley. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stories and what not, but I have a giant fangirl moment every time he’s mentioned, in the stories, and/or I see dragons. I’m kind of like Lampie from Pete’s Dragon, except I get super excited about dragons, as they are my absolute favorites. 🐉

Hook—As stated with Peter Pan, one of my favorite characters of all time is Captain Hook. Dustin Hoffman was absolutely brilliant in this and I love the idea of Captain Hook facing an adult version of Peter. One of my favorite adaptations of the classic story. 🥹

The American Revolution—Not any film or story in particular, but I do love learning anything I can about the conflict and love the period. The exception to this is the TURN: Washington’s Spies series; I LOVE this series. Definitely my favorite TV series of all time. Hamilton the musical is fine, however I don’t care for Hamilton as a person, so it’s weird for me watching an entire production about him (he was pretty nasty in real life). King George was the only thing I really liked about it. Banastre Tarleton and the Culper Spy Ring are the two big things that I will devour information about the most as they are the most fascinating for me. If it weren’t for the fact that I am broke and don’t have time, I would absolutely join the re-enacting community for this time period.

The Golden Age of Piracy—As stated, I am a big fan of this time period. It spans a pretty long time time (most sources put it between 1690-1720, but there are many events that led to this giant boom and they started long before then), but I my favorite pirate/privateer out of all of them is Benjamin Hornigold. He was such a fascinating person and out of all of the pirates that are most famous, I would argue that he stuck to his moral code the most. Otherwise, same as American Rev; besides Pirates of the Caribbean, I don’t have any stories or films in particular. Black Sails is ok and Our Flag Means Death is hilarious, but I have a problem where I start screaming at the screen about how inaccurate it is (mostly with Black Sails. Out of all the things you could mess up, it shouldn’t be that hard to not mess up one of the biggest things in history that is associated with the start of the rise of piracy in the Caribbean, but apparently I’ve been proved incorrectly) 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Anywhere Away from Here

A TOG x MCU xover that came from the blurb about Nicky and Joe coming across a beat up Peter Parker.

He knew it was stupid to think he’d ever be able to truly vanish from the public eye.

His Aunt and Happy would never let him completely disappear. He knew they would constantly be on the search for any sign of his continued existence; that’d he’d never be able to stop moving until he found a way to clear his name. He couldn’t risk it. He couldn’t take the chance that the fallout of his mistakes would lead back to those he cared for.

This was his weight to carry and he wouldn’t pass it off onto anyone else.

The whole mess was his responsibility.

Wasn’t it?

It had to be.

None of this would have happened if he’d just had more faith in himself and never handed those stupid glasses over to Myster- no, Beck. If he’d just believed in Mr. Stark’s last wishes and never handed over the glasses to Quinton Beck. 

Peter sniffled and blinked against the blur of tears to try and clear his vision, his hands tightening on his webs as he swung across Manhattan; the low rise apartment buildings and the old fashioned homes passed by below him in a mishmash of color so quickly that he had to focus on the building his webs were attached to or risk slipping when his stomach rebelled at the motion.

He normally loved the rush that came with basically flying across the New York skyline - the blur of the cityscape passing by him was thrill like no other - but in his current state his enjoyment was dampened by the continued chills of his spider sense. The constant low thrum of static keeping his nerves on edge and the irrational feeling that everyone was out to get him settling like an annoying pit in his stomach - left to sour and rot, making him nauseous.

Peter shot another web out and swung, his mind working to assess each new corner he turned afraid that an enemy could be lying in wait anytime he allowed his body a chance to rest. He couldn’t help the fearful feeling when he looked down any darkened street, the muddied shadows stretching out like tendrils ready to pull him in and never let go. 

He had to keep moving. 

Even though it felt like his body was strung tight, his muscles aching to the point he wasn’t sure he could remember what it felt like to relax; but he had to be on alert, aware of his surroundings all the time, ready for the next attack. Even as a haze seeped into his mind, muddling his thoughts and distorting reality with each heavy blink.

It was exhausting. 

And he was just so damned tired. 

Peter cleared the lump he felt forming in his throat and shot another web out to swing down to the inner workings of Hell’s Kitchen. The sound of thunder rumbled somewhere in the distance and reminded him he needed to seek shelter soon - the Feds had ransacked his last safe house - while the grumbling of his stomach begged for attention as well. He couldn’t honestly remember the last time he’d eaten enough to satisfy his enhanced metabolism. 

Peter grabbed at the webbing and swung forward only to realize his web had ended short and missed the connection point on the building across the way.

With a stuttering breath, Peter tried to right the floundering downward spiral of flips and spins he found himself in but couldn’t seem to find purchase on any given surface. He closed his eyes and tried to breathe through the sick feeling that was surging up his esophagus - his head screaming, or maybe that was him? - from the continuous change in position. Peter fumbled for the release of his wingsuit to help give him some sort of lift in the updraft of air but slammed into the side of a building, his head ringing from the impact and one of his lenses cracking from the blunt force, the HUD of his suit going dark and leaving him blind as he continued to fall. 

Peter cursed and ripped his mask off, blinking against the harsh burn of the early-winter wind and found himself gasping when the rush of air made it hard to breath - a fiery ache settling like kindling in his lungs and burning up his airway.

A rough cough tore through him when he slammed into another window, his head cracking against the smooth glass and sending shockwaves of undulating pain down his neck. Between one blink and the next Peter fell into a tailspin, he tried to twist his body, tried to grasp the balcony that was passing by quickly only to end up screaming when the weight of his body pulled at his shoulder. A scream ripped from him when his shoulder tore from its socket, his fingers slipping useless from the railing, arm worthless and numb. 

The next balcony clipped his temple and sent the world spiraling into a gritty static and by the time an empty car parked in some dingy back alley came upon him to break his fall he was lost to the waking world, the screech of a car alarm following him down into darkness.

“Nile sent me a picture of the world’s largest ball of yarn. She says Quynh is making plans to steal it and Andy is a grumpy grandma who doesn’t get the appeal.”

Nicky looked up from his book, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips at Joe’s dishevelled hair and sleep rumpled pajama bottoms hanging loosely about his hips, abs on full display. Nicky cleared his throat, “Quynh always liked grand displays and Andy is, well, Andy. Though I’m glad to hear Nile is enjoying herself.”

Joe smirked and ran a hand over his curls while shuffling further into the kitchen, headed towards the coffee pot, “And how about us, my life? What should we do to entertain ourselves today?”

“There is a new exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. I thought we could be tourists today, if you wish?”

The coffee smelled amazing as Joe poured himself a cup, eyes peering through their kitchen window, the rays of the early morning hidden behind the gray of the coming winter storm. He shivered at the imagined chill of the cityscape outside, the frost framing the window adding to the perceived chill of outside. “Perhaps, or we could…”

The sound of shattering glass and the crunch of steel from outside their window stole the rest of Joe’s words with a flinch when the car parked outside their residence crumpled from the blunt force of some unknown object.

“What in the…” Joe set his coffee cup down and headed towards the door, Nicky right behind him. 

The early morning air, crisp with the chill of winter, stole Joe’s breath from him, his toes curling against the frigid pavement of their street, arms rubbing his bare arms as he made his way forward. Nicky by-passed him - having stopped to slip shoes on - and made his way to the car, the garbled shout of someone in the distance lost over the loud and distorted chirping of the car alarm. 

“Nicky?” The rigidness of Ncky’s shoulders had him on edge. “What is it?”

Wide eyes turned to stare at him, his heart falling to his feet when Nicky shook his head at him, a sick feeling roiling through him when Nicky quietly said, “It’s a child.”

He had to ask, even though he knew the answer to the question before it left the safety of his lips, he had to hear it. “Alive?”

Joe watched Nicky lean over crumbled metal and shattered glass to reach for a pulse point, Nicky’s eyes fluttering shut and forehead wrinkling in concentration, his love’s lips moving in quiet prayer.

A beat passed, then two, three - the seconds seemingly stretched on for an eternity - time slowing and allowing a tiny spark of hope to ignite within him before Nicky’s eyes opened once more with a gentle shake of his head. 

Joe sighed and turned to head back into the apartment to call the authorities, disheartened with the knowledge that an innocent had been taken from this world. His hand had barely touched the door handle when a shout from Nicky had him turning. His gaze fell to the wide eyes of Nicky, whose arms were wrapped around the gasping and gurgling form of some tiny wisp of a kid.

Joe gaped, mind reeling at the knowledge that this kid should be dead, and yet… “Bring him inside quickly, Nico.”

Joe winced at the anguished cry the kid made when Nicky hefted the smaller form up and out of the wreckage of the vehicle. 

Joe held the door open while Nicky maneuvered through the narrowed door of their apartment, his mind trying to understand how the child was still alive. The only answer was one that did not sit well within his soul. Surely the gods above would not be so cruel as to bestow immortality to someone so young?

There are quite a few fics with crossovers between The Old Guard and the MCU, but not much at all with TOG and the X-Men. There’s some really good story potential there - we know that Merrick works with the US Military, so it’s not any kind of a stretch to see him working with the Weapon X program. As far as they’re concerned, there’d be no difference between any of the Old Guard and Wolverine (in terms of stuff like experimental and weapons uses.)

This is way out of my wheelhouse for writing, but I’d love it if someone else ran with this. It could be done like the TOG/Winter Soldier fics, where it’s TOG characters but the Winter Soldier concept (e.g. Nicky disappears/is taken during WWII and shows up as an amnesiac assassin in modern times.) It could be basically TOG canon, but what Merrick and Kozak do to them is different. It could involve X-Men characters, or it could not. Endless possibilities. Maybe they found Quynh, and now Quynh has no memory of the rest of the team but she does have an adamantium skeleton (and claws.)

I wanna write a proper DC fic, maybe publish the couple John Wick one shot I have in my WIP folders. In general it’s hard for me to get into new fandom, I need a lot of time alone with canon before I feel comfortable making up my own fanon content

I try to respond to all comments, sometimes because there are questions or things I want to answer to, most of the time to show I appreciate the comment itself

Not really an ending by Play on chap.6 which is about the trio right after Quynh’s death and giving up searching for her, or Many that live deserve to die

My last one All over me, never wrote porn before that one, or Woven thread first time trying to write a poly dynamic which I never did before

Kinda? They can be fun but often I don’t really care about them. So far the craziest is TOG x BS which isn’t that weird in and of itself, since TOG is set in all of human history

Mainly a DC AU “Todd left Gotham and didn’t try to get back with the batfam”, another one shot about Todd in Gotham, trying to get a few pieces for my TOG dark and wings aus

What are your writing strengths?

I get ideas pretty easily, good at characterizations and having a plan. I’m fairly good at dialogues too

What are your writing weaknesses?

I have a hard time with descriptions and action sequences, as well as writing long and/or connected pieces, as well as chaptered fics

Grace comes violently. It’s just so good, so self-indulgent. I always have fun writing in that au, and getting to write Andy and Quynh as unhealthy, codependent and desperately in love against the world is amazing and that fic showed it pretty well
