why does my body have to have something wrong with it everyday. I can't have one day that's just like. fine. no, there's a list of 10 different illnesses that fate just closes its eyes and throws darts at each morning.

kirishima was never one to frantically show up at your dorm-room uninvited, but today was different. you had skipped class, and even the teacher was clueless as to why you were absent.
he was worried—exceedingly worried, to say the least. it wasn’t like you to ignore your class responsibilities, normally opting to turn in your due homework if you knew you’d be missing class that day.
that being said, you didn’t go that route today, instead lying curled up in your usually comfortable sheets. you were unable to even lift a hand, let alone call in to your class.
kirishima had decided, dashing straight for your dorm not a second after the bell rings. reaching your door, the faint beeping of your alarm concerned him to no end. he knocks gently on the wood, receiving a soft groan in return.
“hey, are you alright?” his words are unquiet, and after receiving no response, he speaks again.
“i’m gonna come in, okay?”
he opens the door, reeling at how it was unlocked but also slightly thankful. his eyes dart around the small, dim room, searching for your figure as his vision adjusts. then he spots you, laying on your side and clutching your knees to your chest, one hand resting on your stomach.
he scrambles to your bedside, blathering about how worried he is and throwing a few ‘are you okay?’s in the mix. you briefly peek through your eyelids before the pain shoots back in waves, causing you to shut them roughly.
“it hurts..” you whisper, grasping at your stomach in distain.
kirishima is immediately troubled once again, worried for your health. “what’s wrong?”
“nauseous, stomach hurts.” your words are forced out through your teeth, feeling as though it could cause more pain to talk.
kirishima’s eyebrows furrow, thinking up ways he could help you. “should i grab recovery girl?”
he shifts from kneeling in front of you, just before your eyes fly open. “no! please stay.”
he lours at you dejectedly, feeling as though you need medical attention. yet, he would never proceed with something once you’ve said otherwise.
“you don’t want medicine, sweetheart?” as you vaguely shake your head, he sighs, wondering what else he could do while switching off your alarm. “what can i do to help? i hate seeing you like this..”
you suck in a breath harshly, another spike of pain hushing your words. kirishima waits patiently, wishing he could be in your place so that you wouldn’t feel this way.
“cuddle..”
your eyes are shut violently, so you miss the way his face flares up at your suggestion. he mentally slaps himself, knowing he shouldn’t be acting this way while you’re practically in agony on your bed. he nods, forgetting you can’t look at him at the moment.
“okay, i’m gonna move you just a little, alright?” his soft words match with the gentle way he slides in next to you, scooping you up slowly as to not disturb your stomach further.
“you want me to rub your back?”
you nod, gripping his shirt as you lay on his side. he smiles despondently, tracing a hand up and down your spine rhythmically. “i wish i could do more to help. should i, should i call recovery girl?”
when you don’t reply, he pushes further.
“that way, i’ll be here with you the whole time and you’ll get the medicine you need.”
the amassed worry he has for you at this moment bubbles over, and he squeezes you closer to him—not enough to hurt you, he’d never forgive himself for such a thing.
you muster up all your remaining strength and lift your head a bit, shooting him a weak smile. you drop your head, wrapping your arms around his head lethargically.
“that would be great, kiri.” you regret your words the moment they leave your lips, opening your mouth only gave an entrance for the nausea. you groan, attempting to run your fingers through his red tresses in self-comfort.
kirishima is immediately on the case, rubbing soothing circles into your lower back firmly as a means of distraction.
“hey, hey. it’s alright, i’m here. i’ll call her and then we can stay like this the rest of the day, does that sound good?”
his voice calms you, the nausea subsiding a bit like it’s some kind of auditory medicine. you nod as he brings his other hand to your head, trailing his fingers through the locks and pulling them out when he runs into tiny knots. you might have a headache, so he doesn’t want to further agitate your sickly frame.
“i’ll call her in just a moment, you should try to get some rest. i’ll tell her to bring a glass of water and some crackers, too.”
you almost tear up at the willingness he has to help you, though the moment’s cut short as you’re reminded of your current state. taking his advice, you do your best to relax your body, focusing on the feeling of his hands fixated on distracting you.
eventually, the whirling noise of your fan and kirishima’s soft spoken words fade out as you drift off.
when you awaken, kirishima’s comforting visage is the first thing your eyes land on. you smile up at him as he registers that you’re awake.
“hey, sleepyhead. feel any better?”
his smile shines through his voice, and now you realize, you do feel a bit better. while your body is still a bit achey and your brain is a bit jumbled, the nausea seems to have practically vanished.
“yeah, thank you. how long was i asleep for?”
“around four hours.”
your eyes dilate, stumbling upon the thought that kirishima has been laying like this for four hours—for you.
“oh my god, kiri! i’m so sorry, you should’ve said something!” you rush to apologize, feeling as though you’ve wasted his day away.
he shakes his head, resting a hand on the side of your face softly. “hey, stop that.”
you blink, “b-but your day! i’m sure you had other things to do, right?”
“other things don’t matter when it comes to you, silly. i chose to stay here and help you, you didn’t force me, y’know.”
you huff, feeling a bit irritated with yourself. “i know but, because i was sick you—”
“no, stop. you can’t help the fact that you’re sick, it’s not your fault, alright? i’m here because i care about you, and you deserve to be comforted when you’re feeling sick.”
you buffer, then throw your arms around his neck, burying your face in his chest to the best of your abilities—your body is still a bit sore, after all.
“thank you, it means alot. seriously, you’re amazing.”
“well, you mean alot to me, so no need for thanks. now, wanna watch a movie? oh! you should also drink some of this water, though i doubt you need the medicine now..”

comfort crowd
feat. miya osamu
genre/s: fluff to angst
a/n: this kinda sucks, all i write is angst im sorry. very very self indulgent im sry. kinda inspired by “comfort crowd” by conan gray
Tumblr media
for as long as you could remember, you were in love with your best friend. how could you not be? from him kissing your scraped knee when you fell off your bike, to the way he would comfort you in your darkest moments, he was always there. you don’t remember a time you looked at him and didn’t feel your heart flutter.
you were a masochist though, and never dared to tell him. the certainty of staying friends always overrode the risk of trying to be more. so you locked your feelings away, deeming them a burden to your friendship.
but the way he looked at you as you laid under the stars, sneaking out at the ungodly hours of the night because he “couldn’t sleep”, you couldn’t help but keep that sliver of hope alive.
“god i miss her”
his words snap you back into reality, school. having lunch at school, him sitting across from you. you felt your heart tinge at his words.
he was referring to, his now ex, girlfriend, who he recently found cheating on him. as much as you wanted to laugh, leap with joy at the possibility of having him again, and tell him “you told him so”, all you really wanted was to take the pain away. to bring the brightness in his eyes, even if you weren’t the reason for them.
you take his hand in yours, meeting eyes with him. “you’ll be okay. it’s been what, almost a month?” he nods his head slightly, you smile, “almost one month closer to happiness again, right? plus you know i’d do anything for you, i’m always here”
“anything?” he pushes on, eyebrows raised in curiosity. you nod with a smile resting on your cheeks because it was true, you would do anything for him to not feel the hurt he didn’t deserve.
his slight laughter warms your heart and he meets eyes with you again, this time just staring. you feel your cheeks heat up as his eyes are locked on your face.
“stop staring at me, you’re gonna make me fall in love with you” you stutter, trying to play as a joke.
“what if that’s what i want?”
you feel your body freeze. what did he just say? you look up with wide eyes, trying to comprehend what he just said. he laughs at your expression, leaning in closer, moving a piece of hair from your face.
“tell me if you want me to stop” he whispers as he continues to slowly close the gap between your faces, as you lips brush against each other,
“HEY what’s going on here?” you hear atsumu’s voice, followed by suna reenacting vomitting noises. you hear osamu curse under his breath, leaning back into his chair, gumbling toward his brother.
the day ends. you couldn’t stop thinking about what happened at lunch. would this change your friendship? what if he doesn’t want to talk to you after that? oh my god, did he know you had feelings for him?
you snapped out of your thoughts as you feel someone’s hand take yours.
osamu.
he smiles as he greets you. he quickly takes his hand back again after he realizes you haven’t said anything. “i’m so sorry i didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. i-i just-”
before you could react, you took his face into your hands and pulled him in for a kiss. he drops his bag as he melts into the kiss as well. the heat from your cheeks spread through your body as you feel him bring you closer with his hands on your waist, deepening the kiss.
for a moment, time really did stop. this is the feeling you’ve always yearned for, the itch you couldn’t scratch, it was all happening. you both pull away, out of breath to meet eyes. a smile spreads across his face as he leans his forehead on yours.
you close your eyes, sighing contently, taking in the moment, the moment that osamu was fully yours. “you don’t know how long i’ve been wanting to do that” you say, catching your breath.
“me too” is all he says as he brings his hands to cup your cheeks, pecking your nose.
wordlessly, he takes your hand in his and starts your route home, but takes a turn in the opposite direction last second. you shoot him a confused look and he flashes you a smirk, “let’s take the long way home”
you feel your feels heat for what felt like the hundredth time this night, as you nod and he pulls you into one of the best nights of your life.
once you arrive at your house, he pulls you to face him, pulling you into another deep kiss. you smile against his lips, taking this last moment together for the night. once you pull away, you take his hands in yours, looking down.
“look osamu, i’ve liked you ever since we were kids and now that you’re here, doing this, i-i’m just so happy-”
he cuts you off with another kiss, smiling as he pulls away, “you talk too much” he says with a chuckle. you hit his shoulder lightly and watch as he feigns being hurt, stumbling backward.
“now get inside, i’ll see you tomorrow morning” he nudges you toward the door. with a final smile and wave, you open the door, planting a kiss on his cheek before entering and shutting the door. you close your eyes as you comprehend the events of today.
he was yours. years and years of waiting, yearning, wishing he’d return your affections were finally happening.
you couldn’t help squeal into your stuffed animals that night like a teenage girl in those cheesy romcoms. you sigh happily as you let yourself fall into a slumber, remember the feeling of his lips on yours, wanting nothing more than to wake up the next morning to see him again.
when the morning arrived, you were ecstatic. jumping out of bed to do your hair and makeup, something you never usually did, but today was different. today you were osamu’s girlfriend.
once you’d finished getting ready, you check your phone to see a text from him,
samu <3: early practice this morning, won’t be able to pick you up
you frown slightly, but dismiss the text, knowing you’ll see him at school. you pack your bag and head on your way.
once you arrived to the school, you see osamu, sitting on the bench with his back toward you. you feel your heart race as you make your way to him. for a moment everything seemed perfect,
but that moment ended when you see him embrace his ex girlfriend, pulling her in for a kiss.
your world stopped, but this time not in a good way. you see the way his lips melt into hers, just like they did with yours last night. you see the way his eyes sparkle, something they’d lacked after your kiss. you felt like the air from your lungs had been knocked out, making you nauseous. you put a hand on your chest, trying to make sure your heart was even still beating.
as he intertwines his fingers with hers, kissing her forehead again, you watch him take out his phone. soon you feel your phone vibrate as you quickly take it out.
you shut your eyes before you read it, hoping it was your mind telling you to wake up from this terrible nightmare. but as you opened it, you heart drops as you grip your phone.
samu <3: thanks for comforting me last night, you’re a great friend.

Symbols - Chapter 8
Warnings: A bit of angst, mentions of self harm Word count: 714 (im sorry that it’s short, the next one will make up for it)
Masterlist
Chapter 7 | Chapter 9
Small announcement! For any former readers, the last seven chapters have been edited so the reader is a second year at Fukurodani rather than a third year.
Third Person POV
Keiji opened his door to find three of his soulmates displaying a nervous habit. Kenma was bouncing a leg, Kuroo was constantly running a hand through his hair, leaving it even messier than normal and Koutarou was pacing around the bedroom with his hair laying flat to his head.
Kenma felt nauseous, deep down he already knew what was going on, why else would Keiji ask him about his previous self harm habits? He may be the only other person getting that answer tonight but he hated feeling this anxious.
All of the boys looked to the black haired setter walking into his room, stilling as they saw the anxious and tired look on his face. Koutarou’s face falling even more as he saw the puffiness and red rings around Keiji’s eyes, immediately taking two large strides over to the youngest of his boyfriends and tugging him into a hug. Nobody made the move to interrupt them, the Nekoma boys watching Keiji’s body sag and relax into Kou’s hold.
“Keiji,” the boy in question stepped out of Koutarou’s hold at the sound of Tetsurou’s voice, “what happened today?” He shook his head and retreated to sitting on his bed. Kenma stayed seated beside him, Tetsurou stayed leaned against the window sill and Koutarou crouched on the floor in front of the quiet boys.
“I promised her I wouldn’t tell you guys. But, something happened. I don’t know what, but something happened to her. I think someone hurt her.” He balanced his forearms on his knees, his glassy eyes glancing up to his boyfriends.
All of them fell silent, all of them having the same gut feeling but everybody having their own idea as to what may have happened.
Kaara sat in her room, contemplating what Akaashi told her earlier all the while she sat in anguish. Except this time, it wasn’t her own. She could feel the struggles and discomfort that Akaashi and Koutarou were currently going through. She debated on texting them but instead, the guilt consumed her. It was her fault, they were getting worked up over her and she could sense it. It was nauseating and the only other thing she could feel was her own guilt. So she did the one thing she knew how to do without messing up.
Clean.
She made her way downstairs and cleaned to her hearts content. Organized, vacuumed, swept, dusted, washed dishes, wiped counters and organized some more. Kaara did this for a few hours, finally unwinding and feeling better. Little did she know, her relaxation and serotonin eased two boys as well.
Akaashi laughed under his breath, earning an odd look from the three boys in his room.
“I can feel her serotonin.”
Kaara’s POV
The next day, Bokuto ran up to me and swept me into a hug, quite literally taking me off of my feet. He spun us around and I fought to keep my legs from swinging out into the clustered hallway. I buried my face deeper into the nape of his neck, trying desperately to hide from the prying eyes and daunting whispers.
“Bo, please put me down.” He quickly set me to my feet but continued to smile brightly at me. I heard whispers flying around and I rolled my eyes “Lets just get to our classes, please?”
------------
The next week and a half continued on like this and things started feeling normal and okay again. But I can tell Koutarou is losing his patience, it’s been two months since he opened our stupid bond and it’s clear he wants more. He truly does remind me of a puppy at times and it’s cute, I mean, it tracks I guess. I just want us to go back to normal, before all of this stupid soulmate stuff. This is exactly what I didn’t want to have happen but either way he’s going to get hurt. That is the last thing I wanted for him and now its going to happen, not once but now twice, all because of me. All because of my stupid fear, but now it only gets worse.

hi so i have a fic request, but honestly i just want soldezangelo content so its fine if u dont feel like writing that haha
prompt: after nico wakes up from a terrifying nightmare, will and leo goes to comfort him and let him know how much they love him. :)
idk im just in a mood for fluff haha, but this also works for solangelo <3 thank you again!
Thank you very much for trusting me with your prompt, I hope you'll like how it turned out! I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that soldezangelo was a thing till today, so I wasn’t sure whether it was like a proper ship or a bromance or whatever... I’m sorry! So basically I made a solangelo + Leo thing! :)
I truly hope you like it, since it’s my first ever prompt! Ugh
I posted it on ao3 too
He had no idea how he had arrived there, all he could remember were bits and pieces of the journey; long gaunt hands, dead trees with broken branches, darkness all around him. And oh, the feeling of complete solitude. It was encompassing.
Nico was the only one in that lonely land and he felt completely lost.
And then he saw it, like a beacon in the night: the faintest light in the distance and it was calling his name, like a sweet lullaby. It looked like the sun, but it was overshadowed by that thick foggy darkness; it looked impossibly far, but it was calling his name! It had to mean something, Nico was sure.
He started running, running, running, till his heart was about to explode and his lungs were imploding. The light didn’t look closer at all, but the voice kept shouting his name, always louder, till Nico thought it was going to break its voice.
That’s when he recognized it. Will. That was Will’s voice and he sounded incredibly pained.
Nico stumbled and while he was falling to his knees, he cried out Will’s name, holding his gaze fixed on the light like it was the only thing able to keep him together. He was falling and his pieces were crushing to the ground in a loud noise of clattering. He seemed to keep falling for centuries, because his body didn’t hit the soil right away.
His voice was scratched, broken like he was, “Will!”
He kept falling and falling, till the darkness swallowed him whole. That’s just what happened to lost boys.
He didn’t know how much time passed, but at some point, he was laying on the ground. It didn’t happen with a loud crush; he knew he was laying down because he felt the cold grass tickle his neck. His body was shivering impossibly and he felt nauseous, but above him there was the brightest starry sky he’d ever seen. He was back at Camp Half Blood.
He breathed deeply, trying to take everything in, but his lungs were hurting, so he started coughing convulsively.
“What…?” He heard a voice, but it was barely more than a whisper over the thundering blood in his ears. “Nico!”
Then there were two faces over him, hands running over his arms, looking for injuries.
You won’t find any scar, Nico wanted to say, I’m a broken boy, but there is no proof of that on my skin.
He tried to back away from those preoccupied touches, but his limbs were to heavy to be moved, much less controlled. He was trembling and colliding, he didn’t know how to stop. He just wanted everything to stop spinning so fast.
A light appeared from somewhere above him and was pointed at his face; he couldn’t see anything anymore over that terrible brightness, but the voice spoke again, sounding a little panicked, “He doesn’t seem hurt, but I don’t know if we can move him.”
There was a shy answer, but Nico couldn’t make the words out, because the newly appeared light brought back to his mind the light he’d seen earlier and he just needed to know that Will was okay. It took him a couple of tries, but in the end, he managed to croak out, “Will… please.”
There was a hand in his hair, pulling it back from his eyes. “You’re right, Nico.” The voice said, “Go call Will, and tell him to come here as fast as he can. Tell him Nico needs help, he’ll be here in no time. Go!”
The light disappeared immediately. A gentle hand helped him to sit up and suddenly he was staring right at Leo, his cheeks almost completely covered in grease, and his eyes were big and worried. He felt immediately relieved at the sight, because it was so familiar that he almost felt like he wasn’t completely lost. Just a little.
He swallowed the dump in his throat and Leo’s gaze never left his face.
“What happened?” Nico asked, squeezing his eyelids for a second, trying to make his eyes focus. He was seeing a blurry world.
“You should tell me, mate.” Leo replied, kindly. “We were going back to our cabin when we heard you shout and cough. Did someone hurt you?”
Nico shook his head.
Leo whispered the next question, like he wanted to give Nico the chance to pretend he didn’t hear his words, “Why are you crying, then?”
Nico hadn’t realized he was crying, but now that he knew he was doing it, he couldn’t stop. He tried to hide his face, letting his hair fall in front of his face. “I don’t know.” He said, honestly. “I’m just defective, I guess.”
Leo wasn’t having any of that. He shook his head and cupped Nico’s cheeks, tilting his head back to make him meet his gaze, “You aren’t, Nico. Not even a bit.”
Nico sighed and wrapped his arms around his own body, trying to stop the tremors. “You are a mechanic, Leo. You can fix anything.” He squeezed his eyes, trying to breathe, but it wasn’t working. “Fix me, please. Just fix me. I don’t want to be like this anymore.”
He sounded desperate and pathetic, he knew that, but the world was spinning and blurry and he just wanted it to fucking stop.
Without notice, Leo pulled him in his arms, clenching him in a bone-wrecking hug. Nico buried his face in the crook of his neck and let himself be rocked gently; Leo smelled like grease and steel and fire. Nico tried to let that scent warm him up.
Leo said, “You aren’t broken, Nico. Your heart may be a little chipped because of all the things you’ve been through, but each time you filled the cracks with gold. It may be heavy now, but it’s strong and beautiful and beating. You are alive, Nico, and if there is air in your lungs, it means you aren’t broken. So I need you to focus; breathe, please.”
And he did. He took in a deep breath and another and another, till eventually his lungs remembered how to work on their own.
There were loud footsteps and branches breaking and then Will was there, running toward them at full speed. He crushed by Nico’s side on his knees and Leo let him go, sitting back on his heels.
Nico’s relief rolled off of his body in hot waves at the sight of that messy blonde hair and those damn freckles of his, because Will was there and he was okay. He was okay okay okay. That was the most important thing.
Nico could deal with being broken, but he could’ve never been able to see Will being hurt or lost. Never. He could bear his own pain as long as he knew Will’s heart was happy and pumping blood in his body.
Will’s hands were everywhere. On Nico’s cheeks, his arms, his hair, his chest, his thighs, his neck. In that moment, Will wasn’t wearing his boyfriend face, no. He was full-on doctor. “Are you hurt? Do you have wounds? Did you hit your head?”
Nico shook his head three times, one for each question. Since Will didn’t even flinch, he added, “I’m okay.”
Will took in a sharp breath and held Nico in his arms so tightly that it was like he was trying to hold all of his shattered pieces together. It was with that smell of home and that familiar warmth, that Nico’s body family stopped trembling. He rubbed his forehead against Will’s neck and he felt like coming back to life.
Ah, Gods. He wasn’t sure whether he was listening to his own heartbeat or to Will’s or to a mix of both, but he felt completely filled with love. The darkness dissipated slowly, one steady beat after the other.
After a time – three minutes or maybe three centuries – Will eventually pulled back to look at his face, but kept his hands securely on Nico’s arms, almost as if he was worried that he could disappear at any moment right in front of his eyes.
Nico saw the exact second when Will’s face went from doctor to boyfriend. “Oh, you scared me to death, Nico! I’ll lock you in your cabin for the rest of the summer and you’ll never ever be allowed to be out of my sight ever again. You are an absolute menace, I almost had a heart attack! If I’ll have white hair by my mid-twenties, it’ll be your fault, damn you!” He was mumbling quickly; too many words to say in so little time. Relief was now rolling off of Will too, even if it was mixed with a lot of other feelings.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know… I’m not sure how I got here.” Nico’s mind was a little blurred and he couldn’t remember much of that day.
“You shadow-travelled in your sleep, Nico. You were having a nightmare and I tried to shake you awake and call your name, but you didn’t wake up. And then you just disappeared. I looked for you everywhere, but couldn’t find you anywhere. Then Leo’s brother found me and told me where you were. Thank the Gods they were here.” He turned to look at Leo and hugged him too, “Thank you, Leo. Gods, thank you.”
Leo shrugged and offered a little smile, “Boys with chipped hearts have to stick together.” He says and even if Will couldn’t really understand, Nico did.
What Leo meant was that Nico wasn’t alone. Not alone at all.
Leo stood up and grinned at them, before running his fingers fondly on their hair, “It’s better if I go to sleep. You’re in good hands now, Nico. I’ll see you both at breakfast, try to get some sleep, huh?”
Nico barely had the time to thank him, before he disappeared with a yawn in the trees, where one of his brothers were watching us curiously.
Soon, Nico and Will were alone and even if it took them quite some time, they managed to get to Nico’s cabin. He was leaning almost completely against Will’s body, because he was so knackered that his legs weren’t bothering working more than he strict necessary, but Will didn’t seem to mind at all; if anything, he held Nico closer with every step.
Will helped him change his pyjama, that was stained with grass and mud, and then changed his own (because of course he kept some of his clothes at the Hades’ cabin).
They slid under the blankets, in those sheets that smelled both like light and darkness, like Will and Nico. It had been a while since they had smelled just like Nico, since for the whole summer Will had slept with him.
Will pulled him closer and Nico placed his head on that spot on his chest, where he could feel both Will’s heartbeat in one ear and feel his warm breath caressing his opposite cheek. That was Nico’s favourite place in the whole world. Screw that, in the whole universe.
“I could’ve accidentally taken you with me when I shadow-travelled, I’m sorry.” Nico whispered, feeling guilty.
“I don’t care.” Will replied, softly.
“But you could’ve been hurt.” He insisted. The thought was almost unbearable.
“I don’t care,” he said again, rubbing circles on Nico’s back with his hands, “Besides, if you’d taken me with you, I could’ve made sure that you were okay sooner. So, please, next time take me with you. I’d like it better if you didn’t go away at all, but if you do, take me with you.”
Nico couldn’t really find any word to tell Will just how much in love with him he was, so he kissed softly his chest and hoped it was enough.
“Are you okay, by the way? Do you want to tell me about your nightmare? It could help.” Will whispered, holding Nico closer.
Since he barely remembered his nightmare, Nico shook his head a little. The only memory embroided in his mind was the feeling of losing Will in the darkness, so he said, “Just… don’t ever leave me, okay?”
“How could I ever? You own my heart, Nico; you know that.” He whispered; then, “I don’t say it often enough, but I love you. I love you.”
Nico tilted his head back a stole a kiss from those soft lips, “I love you, too.”
Then, safe from that blinding darkness and that feeling of solitude, Nico managed to fall asleep in the arms of his boyfriend, who held him tightly. The last thing he heard before drifting off was Will’s low sleepy voice murmuring a lullaby in his ear, like he always did whenever Nico had a nightmare.
His dreams were filled with kisses and rays of sunshine and home home home.

I'll Always Protect the People I Love
Tumblr media
I really couldn't tell you how it happened, one minute I was hanging up washing on the line and the next I was on the ground in a load of pain. It had been one of those days, you know the ones where everything goes wrong? First I woke up late and missed an important virtual meeting, then I somehow managed to knock over a massive glass of water, the contents going absolutely everywhere. All over my bedside table, my phone (luckily it was waterproof) and several important pieces of paper which I'd been reading for the very meeting I had missed.
Maybe this was the universe's way of telling me I shouldn't have even bothered with today? Maybe I'd have been better if I had stayed in bed. One thing was for sure, I'd be in less pain right now.The only good thing was that my husband who usually worked as a doctor in the local hospital's E.D had taken an annual leave day to get the filing done which he'd gotten behind on.
"Crap," I hissed as I lifted my arm to inspect the massive scrape that had resulted from the fall.
Everything hurt, my arm, my legs which I could see from the droplets of blood falling onto the concrete had also copped a nasty whack, even my side hurt. I could feel myself getting nauseous at the sight of the blood, I'd never been any good at anything to do with medical stuff, it just made me want to vomit. What Shawn got from it, I wasn't sure, but he was passinate about medicine and was always so good. Not only at solving the actual issue at hand, but at making connections with his patients,at gaining their trust.
I tried to stay calm, to take a few deep breaths, but I could feel my composure crumbling as all the day's events caught up to me.
"Shawn!" I called out, voice shaking with the effort of trying to hold back tears. "Shawn," I shouted a little louder when there was no response. Finally I was met with the sound of his footsteps on the stairs.
"April, what's the matter, I was in the middle of a -" he stopped dead in the middle of the yard when he saw me.
"What happened?" he asked, recovering his composure quickly and rushing over to me.
"I tripped," I sniffled, as he bent down, noticing the blood on my hands and knees, and the way I was holding my aching side.
"I can see that baby," he spoke softly, lifting the hem of my dress up just enough to see how far up the wound was.
"This looks nasty and sore," he commented, pouting, causing me to whimper. That was the last thing I wanted to hear, especially from him, someone who spent his days seeing gross wounds and abbrassions.
"It hurts," I cried reaching for him out of habit, only to have my hands sting in protest. I couldn't help the tears that came steadily now, rolling down my face and clouding my vision.
"Oh, honey, please don't cry," he shushed me, reaching up to wipe them away. "It's okay, I'll fix you up, I promise,"
"I'm sorry for being a cry-baby," I muttered scrubbing at my tears with the back of my hand.
"You're not a cry-baby Honey, you've just had a tough day is all," he replied, pressing a kiss to my forehead. I sat there for a minute forgetting the pain, just resting my head against his chest, letting him hold me. He was the one person in the world, who could always make things better.
"Alright Princess, do you think you can stand up?" he asked, taking hold of my upper arms, supporting most of my weight. I stood slowly,my entire body felt as if it was simultaneously being set on fire and hit by a truck.
We made our way inside. Slowly. Incredibly slowly, but Shawn was patient as I hobbled along beside him.
"Here, sit down here," he told me, helping me onto one of the dining room chairs.
"But what about the blood?" I pointed to the blood which was still flowing slowly from several of the wounds.
"It's okay, the chairs can be cleaned," he replied clearly unphased."I'm going to get the first aid kit, stay there," he told me.
"Not like I can go anywhere," I retorted making him laughed as he ran off in the direction of the bathroom.
He came running back less than a minute later, "I'm okay Shawn," I laughed, going to lean back in the chair, but the contact caused the grazes on my back to sting furiously. "Ah," I hissed, leaning forward again.
"Yeah, you look fine," Shawn sassed back, placing the large box of medical supplies on the ground and opening it. It was overwhelming just looking at all the different things. I had no idea how Shawn knew what he was doing, but he obviously did, because he pulled about 5 different things out, before looking up at me.
"Alright sweets,I'm going to wipe off your hands and knees first,it might sting a bit, just tell me if it gets too much and I'll stop okay?" he told, looking up at me as he pulled the wrapper off an antiseptic wipe and gently wiped it across my left knee.
"Ahh," I hissed, fresh tears coming to my eyes,my hand flying to his, stopping him from what he was doing.
"I know it hurts baby," he moved his other hand up to rest on my thigh comfortingly. "But if we don't get this all cleaned up then you risk getting an infection, who knows what sort of stuff has been on that ground, especially with Tarzan out there now,"
At the sound of his name Tarzan came running, tentatively putting one paw up on my lap.
"Aw, Tarzan, good boy, you come to look after Mummy hey, you know she's sad," he cooed, wiping my knee again. It hurt as much as the last time, but I tried to stay still and let Shawn do what he needed to.
"And I'm done," Shawn smiled five minutes later, stepping back from your hands as he gave them one last wipe.
I sighed, feeling relieved, but then I remembered he still had to deal with my side and back, and I knew that would be worse that both my hands and my knees. I'd really done a number on myself there, having landed with most of my weight in that one area.
"I think we're probably better off going to the bathroom for your side, from what I saw outside I'll need to give it a proper rinse out before I do anything with it," he spoke, causing me to groan.
"I know honey, but I promise once I've dealt with it you're all done then how about we have snuggles on the couch and other a take out?" We didn't often get to spend a truly lazy night together with both of our jobs being as crazy as they were.
Really?" I asked, smiling properly for the first time all day.
"Really," he smiled back "Work can wait till tomorrow, my poor invalid baby is more important," he pouted, causing me to laugh, as he helped me to the bathroom.
"That's my favourite sound you know," he told me as he helped me undress and get situated in the tub so he could use the detachable head to wash out the wound.
I smiled, feeling suddenly shy, even after being married for a year, and together for 4 he still had that effect on me.
He spent a few more minutes getting everything set up, towels, bandages, antiseptic wash, tweezers, before he finally turned the water on low, being careful not to get any water on the wounds he'd just dressed.
"Can you turn around for me April?" he asked, helping me to maneuver my body the way he needed it."I'm going to start washing it out now baby, there's a fair bit of dirt and crap caked in there so I'll need to give it a good rinse out. Do you wanna hold my hand?" he offered, extending the hand he wasn't using which I took immediately. "Ready?" he asked. I nodded squeezing my eyes shut in anticipation.
As soon as the water hit it, my whole side felt like it was on fire, the tears that I had managed to hold at bay until now, flowing freely. "I know Princess," he soothed, "One more minute okay," I nodded, opening my eyes, watching as he skillfully flushed the wound. "Can you arch your back for me a bit?" he asked stopping the water momentarily. I did what he asked, leaning over, seeing for the first time just how much blood was coming from me. The bathtub had streams of red water that just seemed to keep coming.
"Shawn," I squeeked, the blood.
"It's okay, Honey,I promise you it looks way worse than it actually is," he tried to console me continuing to work on my wound. I sat there, like I had outside trying not to focus on it, but I could feel the familiar twist of my stomach as he nausea set in,waves of dizziness washing over me like the water.
"Shawn, I-Im going to be sick," I gasped, holding my bandaged hand over my mouth. He was quick to act, switching off the water immediately, and reaching for the trash can that sat next to the toilet, holding it under my chin.
"Deep breaths, April," he spoke softly, pushing some of the hair that had fallen into my eyes out the way.
"You must think I'm such a whimp," I groaned, head still over the bin as I tried and failed to take steady breaths.
"Not at all," he promised, "You're just not good with blood, lots of people are like that, hey, at least you haven't fainted," he laughed trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"I feel like I'm going to," I whispered.
"It's okay, just breathe, that's it, nice long breathes," he coached still holding the bin patiently.
Finally after five minutes of sitting like that, the feeling started to lessen and I was able to sit up again. I must have looked like a complete mess, because the look of pity on Shawn's face was ridiculous.
"Feeling better?" he asked as he placed the bin down beside him and took my hand.
I nodded still not entirely trusting myself.
"Ready to get out and I'll fix the rest up out on the couch?" he asked offering me his hand again.
I nodded again, allowing him help me out of the bath and wrap a towel around my body.
We made our way back to the loving room slowly where he deposited me onto the couch, before running back to get the things he needed from the bathroom.
"How bad is it?" I asked, as he sat down beside me.
"I've seen better I've seen worse, it's not as bad as it probably feels though," he added in sympathy.
"What do you need to do?" I asked, turning to look at him. He frowned, obviously weighing up whether to tell me or of it was better to keep me in the dark.
"I need to get this gravel outta the wound before I dress it," he answered carefully. "Why don't you turn the T.V. on while I work?" he suggested quickly when he saw my face fall. He grabbed the remote off the table and handed it to me.
"What do you want to watch?" I asked when the screen came on.
"Whatever you wanna watch babe, I'll be focussed on this."
I nodded, turning on Once Upon A Time, immediately being pulled into the fantasy. The story helping to distract me. He kept a hand on my good shoulder the whole time he worked, occasionally squeezing it when I let out a whimper at a particularly sore spot.
"All done," he announced as he stuck the adhesive strip down half an hour later.
"Really?" I asked, turning to see he was indeed done, already in the process of picking up all the trash, going to dispose of it safely in the bin.
When he came back he had a glass of water, a bottle of Tylenol and an ice-pack in his hands.
"Here babe, take these,it should help with some of the pain," he spoke, coming around the couch to hand them to me, before sitting down next to me.
"What's the ice-pack for?"
"For your back, it'll help to stop the bruising," he lifted me onto his lap confusing me slightly.
"Won't you be cold?" I questioned as he placed the ice-pack between my back and his chest, pulling me back
"I could never be cold with you around baby," he murmured kissing my head, leaning back into the sofa.
"Thank you for looking after me," I spoke after a few minutes of comfortable quiet in which we were both focussed on the television.
"Of course baby," he replied, running a hand gently through my scalp. "I'll always protect the people I love."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Where are you going? Do you really expect me to do this alone?” I shouted to the already abandoned house. A swell in my throat rises and I can't breathe. My body shakes as the tears take over. I fall to my knees running my hand over my stomach. “Don’t you worry baby; Daddy will be back he loves you I promise” I say to the life growing within my womb.
The warmth from the comforter consumes me as I awaken with dried tears in my eyes. My heart aches as I remember the events from the past 12 hours. The thick silence takes hold of my heart and it begins racing. My heart beat sounding as if it is being played on a speaker the size of a skyscraper. Feeling the bile rise in my throat, rushing to the bathroom, I empty out the contents of my stomach. Tears escape my eyes as I reach out to the void. I'm alone truly.
My first OBGYN appointment rolls around and my heart is in my stomach. The nurse escorts me in, slowly my feet turn into lead as I drag myself onto the cot in the room and lay back facing the monitor. Once I feel that cool gel upon my stomach, my heart settles and the most beautiful BUMP BUMP BUMP is heard throughout the room. My eyes focus on the image in front of me. “well congrats sweetie you're about 10 weeks, Due September 27. Remember no stress and make sure to take your prenatal. We’ll see you next week” My ultrasound technician announces excitedly. I smile anxious as to what I should do next.
I make my way to a small café after my appointment wanting a small tea to calm my nerves. Looking around the coffee shop I notice quite the crowd and my panic begins to set in. It feels like I can't breathe while the crowds begin to grow as the café reaches the brink of rush. More and More people pour through the door as my anxiety takes over and I feel the bile rising again, I abandon my spot in line trying to make it to the restroom before I release the contents of my stomach all over the café floor. The restroom door becomes the only thing in sight to me as I dash for it. I reach for the handle and the door opens and I slam into a hard chest and soon I am on the floor.
“HOLY CRAP!!! IM SO SORRY I WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION” A angelic voice apologized above me. My eyes drift from the floor up to see the most amazing man I've ever seen in my life with his hand out and my voice gets caught in my throat. I stare at him for a while capturing every detail of his face and take his hand. I nod quickly and mutter a fast “Sorry” and dash around the beautiful man and lose myself behind the safety of the door. I was dreading walking back out into the craziness of the café, but excited to see if I could once again get a glimpse of the gorgeous man from before.
Soon I am back in line and order my tea, when a familiar voice sounds from next to me “You know.... you should let me pay you back for your drink you know...since I hurt you” Shocked I turn my head to see the same beautiful man from before. “Oh, please don’t worry about it I really wasn’t paying attention either it's not a big deal” I smile shyly. “Besides I'm sure you have better things to do with your time than to buy a stranger a drink” He laughs “Honestly, Beautiful, I don’t really have anything to do with my time that doesn’t involve getting to know you” Heat creeps up to my face and I lower my gaze and smile. “I don’t need you to pay me back for my tea for you to be able to get to know me, but unfortunately I gotta go” I say slowly moving past him. “At least let me get your number...please” He asked “You don’t even know my name and you want my number?” “Hey I know what I want and I feel like me knowing your name won't matter much cause I probably won't be calling you anything other than mine” I let out a small giggle “ that was super corny but since you're trying so hard give me your phone” I put my number in his phone and hand it back to him and walk toward the door “By the way my name is Y/N” as I make my exit I hear him shout back “Jungkook!”
As the weeks pass, I find myself talking more and more to Jungkook. He still hasn’t stopped flirted with me as much as he did that day in the café but we talk everyday about almost everything and I can't help but feel scared to tell him I am having a baby. What would he say? Will he not want to talk to me anymore? Would he not like me as much? A loud RING pulls me out of my thoughts as my phone lights up with Jungkook's name and photo comes up on my screen.
“Hey, what's up cutie?” He says excitedly
“Not much, just lying in bed not feeling too good today” I respond pouty
“Aw, do you need anything? Medicine? I can bring you soup it'll make you feel better I know you said you went out with your friend last night are you hungover?” The worry evident in his voice.
“Um honestly no um I can't drink so I'm definitely not hungover just different I know what it is though I'll be fine” the nervousness in my voice is evident
“what's wrong then beautiful? Is everything okay?” Oh no... not that question. He’s worried and I know he is but I don’t know what to say. I can't stop it the words just rush out of my mouth like the bile I throw up every morning
“I'm pregnant Jungkook....I'm 14 weeks pregnant” the line goes dead silent “look before you say anything, no I wasn’t hiding this from you and I completely understand if you don’t want to talk to me shit I wouldn’t want to talk to me and move on to someone who is not pregnant and going to be having this type of responsibilities-” “Y/N-” No listen Kookie cause I really like you and I didn’t mean to keep this from you I was just scared that you would hate me” “Y/N-” “I mean I know you just met me a couple weeks ago and it wouldn’t mean much for you to just walk away from this because let's be honest who wants to deal with that-” “Y/N! JUST STOP AND LISTEN PLEASE!” The words stop flowing as quickly as they began.
“Do you think id stop liking you because of the simple fact that you're pregnant, I mean yeah it does suck that you're going to have someone else's baby but I don’t care about that... WAIT! Is that why your ex left?” I stay silent
“Baby....are you there?” He asks worried.
“Baby girl???”
“Beautiful are you okay? Hello?”
I sniffle “Yeah I’m here sorry” my voice cracks at every word.
“Baby are you crying? Do you need me to get you anything?”
“No, I'm fine I promise I'm going to go to bed okay? Goodnight handsome I'll talk to you in the morning” “wait what no I'm com-” I cut him off to end the already overwhelming call. My vision blurs as the tears cascade down my face and I let out a harsh sob. I was scared for nothing or he's just too optimistic. A loud knock on the door grabs my attention.
“who is it?” fear leaking out in my tone. “Baby it's me open up” I hear Jungkook's melodic voice through the door. Quickly I swing the door open to be greeted with the man I've grown so accustomed to in the past few weeks. Taking in the sight of him my heart begins to race as the tears began to no longer form. He reaches his arms around me and pulls me against him. “Baby girl, why didn’t you tell me sooner? You really thought that would make me just leave. How could I do that when in the past few weeks, you’ve stolen my heart” He looks at me and there's a hunger in his eyes as they shift down to my lips. “aww fuck it” he exclaims as his lips capture mine. His arms wrap around my waits as my hands get lost in his soft midnight hair. After a while he pulls away and a small whimper is released from my mouth. “Do you know HOW long I've wanted to do that” he exclaims excitedly with a smile plastered across his face.
After that night Jungkook never left my side, everything I craved he got, Anytime I felt nauseous Jungkook was there.  It became routine with him his calls became more frequent on days he knew I had appointments and he went to every ultrasound. His excitement for my baby was shown one day when I came home from work and my whole apartment was filled top to bottom with diapers bottles and wipes. Jungkook was still too nervous to buy much because he felt he was taking part of the experience from me and the fact that we still don’t know what the baby is yet. As the date rolls around to the appointment it's all Jungkook can talk about. He wants a girl every five seconds he reminds me it's always “Baby do you think the princess will like me? I mean I want her to know I care and that I love you” which is why he was so heartbroken when he could not make it to the gender reveal appointment because of a last-minute practice session. “Please promise to call me right after you find out okay baby?” He begs sadly before he left for the morning.
After the appointment my heart swelled with joy as I turned into my driveway to see Jungkook's car sitting there. As soon as I unlocked the door, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist and feel kisses peppered up my neck “Hey, Baby how did your appointment go? How are you feeling?” he says in-between kisses. A blush creeps up onto my face “Yeah, it went great baby is a growing good and healthy, so I have to tell you something” I state biting my bottom lip and looking toward the ground.
“Oh god what's wrong? Is our princess okay?” his use of the word our makes my heart skip a beat “OUR? And the baby is fine....” I look at him pointedly and his hand runs through his hair as his face turns beet red as he slowly stutters out “I mean....um... I'm sorry I didn’t mean to just assume that you wanted me involved but it's so hard not to be when I'm so in love with you that I don’t care if I wasn’t the one that got you pregnant that’s my baby and you’re my girl so yeah our.... so, what is you have to tell me?” I kiss him softly at his words. I beam at him “You're literally so amazing I can't believe you would even consider any of this I know it's a lot to ask for someone to be involved with someone who is pregnant and all I appreciate it baby BUT unfortunately it's not a princess we got blessed with, handsome” as I put his hand on my stomach and his face twists into confusion “what do you-WAIT! IT’S A BOY? FORREAL? IT’S A BOY?” the smile cannot be contained on his face as he comes to the realization.
"Yes, it’s a boy” I state as Jungkook lifts and twirls me around I laugh.
Jungkook happily exclaims “Oh my god, I'm gonna have a son.” Jungkook drops to his knees and places his hand on my stomach and softly speaks “Hey handsome, its daddy, no I'm not your real daddy baby but I'm going to love you and your mommy like I am. I can't imagine a world without you I can't wait to meet you”
I stand there smiling knowing.......Jungkook won’t ever leave me alone

MASTERLIST
============================================
I stumbled into the opened gate of the quinjet, falling to the ground, rolling over just in time to put a bullet through the head of the last Hydra agent that had been chasing me through the foliage.
“Jarvis, close the gate.” I command, letting my head fall back against the metal flooring. The ache and exhaustion taking over.
“Gate is closed Miss. Should I pilot home?”
“Just give me a second and I'll be up to the seat. Gotta catch my breath.” I closed my eyes trying to keep my head from spinning, taking in deep breaths.
After a few minutes I moved to sit up only to feel a sharp pain shoot through my middle. I thud back down, my hand moved to the affected area feeling the sticky substance that coated my suit around the open gash traveling from my stomach to my ribcage.
“Oh ya, some bastard tried to filet me. Forgot about that.” My head lulled back, realizing that I’d have to do some patch work on the ride home just so I didn't lose more blood than I already had. “Hey Jarvis, can you take the wheel and get to the compound asap.”
“Of course.” With that the quinjet roared to life and jerked into motion.
I carefully rolled over, using my elbows to prop me up as I moved slower than a sloth to my feet. Managing to use the walls of the jet for support I made my way to the medical cabinets, taking out one of the various first aid kits, hydrogen peroxide and a few towels. I opened the cherry red box pulling out the sterile packaging containing a needle with medical thread connected to it and plenty of gauze and bandages. I grabbed the pair of scissors carefully gliding them through the fabric of my suit to get to the gash.
I grabbed the bottle of peroxide and haphazardly poured it over the gash soaking my skin. The stinging sensation was overwhelming, causing me to stop and lean against the table to regain some stability. The blood mixed with the hydrogen peroxide as it bubbled with in the wound, stinging sensations tickling the area.
“Alright, uh, if I pass out call Tony or set off the sprinkler or something.”
“The quinn jet doesn't have sprinklers.”
“Well damn. Nevermind then.” I look down at the sterile needle and thread that were encased in the package. “Here goes nothing.”
Getting stitches was never a problem for me. It didn't bother me at all, however I have never given myself stitches nor done it without any numbing medication. My heart was racing and the cut throbbed with each shaking breath I took.
“I suggest you sit on the medical table so that if you faint, you'll have less chance you'll injure yourself more.” Jarvis' voice breaks through my nervousness.
“That's probably a good idea.” I nodded taking a deep breath as I hopped onto the table. My shaking hands moved back to their previous position and pierced through the tender skin.
“Urhg! Son of a bitch!” I cursed, letting out a guttural cry, tears stinging my eyes. I pierced through the other side of the wound letting out the same guttural cry as I tied and pulled the stitch tight. I continued with another two stitches before Jarvis interrupted my panicked concentration.
“Mr. Stark and few of the Avengers are wishing to be patched through.” the A.I.’s voice broke through the overwhelming pain coming over my senses.
“Seriously right now?” I sniffed looking to the ceiling of the jet, holding the curved needle as still as possible, each movement tugging at the skin I had just pulled through. “Fine patch them through.”
“Hey Kiddo! Saw you were heading back. How’d things go?” Tony’s voice asked through the sound systems of the jet.
“Oh  you know…. Fine.” I replied hesitantly as I positioned the needle to pull another stitch through. I bite my cheek trying to keep down the pained yelp as I pull the needle through.
“Glad to hear it! I assume you got all the files and information needed.” Steve inquired.
“Ya, ya got it all.” I could tell that my voice was shaky as I began to pull another stitch through. I let out a shaky breath as I tied the knot, taking a moment to regain my fading consciousness.
“You gonna need any medical care when you get home?” Bruce questioned.
“Uhm, ya, ya probably.” I replied pulling another stitch through, letting out a small pained cry as it tugged at the sensitive skin.
“How bad is it?” Bucky’s baritone voice reverberated against the jet walls.
“I’ve got no clue what you're talking about.”
“Y/N.” Bucky’s voice was stern, a no-no-joke- voice. “Tell the truth. How bad is it?”
“Uh Jarvis?” I asked, pulling another stitch through the skin, biting my lip to hold in the cry.
“Agent L/N has sustained a few minor injuries, however, managed to be on the receiving end of a knife. They enduring a severe cut along her abdomen reaching from their navel to the bottom two ribs. No internal damage, however the wound is bleeding profusely.” Jarvis read off my injuries.
“Why wasnt that the first thing out of your mouth?” Tony yelled, concern laced in his voice.
“Cause I’m doing my best to take care of it right now.” I replied, allowing the pain of pulling the thread through the skin resonate in my voice.
“And how are you managing that?” Steve asked in his serious Captain tone.
“I’m stitching myself up.” I replied meekly “You know we should really put some morphine into these first aid kits.”
“You’re stitching yourself up?!” Bruce exclaimed “Just put pressure on your wound, stop the bleeding. We’ll stitch you up properly here!”
“Yes sir.” I replied by pulling another stitch through, moving a little faster, eliciting more pain. I let out another guttural cry.
“Jarvis, how far out are you?” Tony asked quickly.
“20 minutes sir.”
“How are you feeling?” Steve asked, obviously concerned.
“Peachy Keen” I snap trying to take a few deep breaths keeping my head from spinning. Closing my eyes had little to no effect in calming my spinning vision. “So uhm there is a slight chance someone will be picking me up from the floor when I get in.” I stated hoping that one of the Avengers heard.
“Do your best to stay awake. We don't want to risk anything.” Bruce pleaded.
“I'll try doc but right now it's not looking too good.”
I continued to pull a few more stitches through, despite the protest from Bruce earlier. The pain rushing through my body, causing each and every sore area more pain.
“Jarvis, please tell me we’re close. I can't do any more.” I asked tiredly, the pain overwhelming my senses and darkness playing along my line of vision.
“Landing in 2 minutes.”
“Thank god.” I said moving from the table and standing, using the edge to balance as I waiver in my step. The wave of dizziness hit harder and the lightheadedness took over. My knees buckled as I held myself up against the metal table. The jerk of the jet landing caused me to stumble slightly and bump into the table, sending a wave of pain through my system.
Bucky and Steve were the ones to enter the craft quickly. Bucky was the first to get to me, Steve looking over his shoulder watching me.
“Jeez Doll. You really got banged up.” His words were incoherent as I started to drift out of consciousness.
“Mhmmm.” I murmured, too tired to talk. My eyes closed for a millisecond.
“Hey stay awake. I know you're tired but you gotta stay awake.” Bucky squeezed his arm around me coaxing me awake.
“Sorry.” I mumbled “You're just so comfortable. And Hot. Im freezing”
“It's because you lost so much blood. And because of that I need you to stay awake so we can avoid you going into a coma.” He insisted as he pushed through the lab doors.
I felt the cool metal of another examination table underneath me and the lack of heat caused me to shudder. Tony’s blurry face came into my vision as he looked over me.
“You should really work on your stitch work.” He joked.
“Sorry, was too busy trying not to pass out in between pulling the needle through my skin.” I said back, trying to be more joking then a snapback.
“Fair enough. But I hate to break it to you that we're gonna have to take them out and redo them.”
“I figured. But can you hurry up. I'm starting to see the darkness and the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“Don't go towards that. Its a lie.” He retorted as he moved into action, Bruce following in his footsteps.
The pressure of a IV being placed into my arm turned my attention to Bruce standing next to me, a grim look across his features. A bag of blood hung above me as it traveled through the tube into my veins.
The slight tug at my skin around the wound made my attention wander to see Tony cutting away the stitches that I had previously done. The sight made me nauseous and I turned my vision to the ceiling, focusing on the speckled design of the tiles. My vision blurring in and out, the noise of voices were muffled as tears slid down my face.
A cooling feeling drifted over my wound. I looked down to see perfect stitches and Tony spraying a white substance over the gash.
“What’s that?” I asked, my voice cracking as I watched the foam soak into my skin.
“It's a multipurpose antibiotic.” Bruce began.
“It’ll decrease infection and inflammation and increase healing!” Tony exclaimed, clearly proud about the invention. I just nodded my head as all the words jumbled together into an incoherent sentence.
“I think you're out of the red zone, so if you want to sleep you can. We’ll keep and eye on you.” Bruce spoke quietly.
“Can I be moved to a different bed, this one hurts.” I whispered as my eyelids feel weighed down.
“Ya, ya we can do that.” Bruce smiled gently. “Bucky do you mind carrying her into a different room?”
I saw Bucky nod curtly and he gently slid his hands under my back and knees, picking me up from the metal table. Bruce followed close behind with the IV stand holding blood and medications.
Bucky gently placed me onto one of the sterile beds of the medbay, tucking a warm blanket around my chilled body. Bruce situated all the machines before leaving the room. Bucky had his hand intertwined with mine as I drifted to sleep, moving his thumb in a rhythmic pattern over my knuckles.
“Thank you Buck.” I whispered as I drifted off.
“Not a problem doll. Get some sleep, you deserve it.” with that I gave him a small smile as I dozed off to sleep.

" I tripped," I sniffled, as he bent down, noticing the blood on my hands and knees, and the way I was holding my aching side.

Omg omg omg its me AGAIN. Idk how its possible but im in love all over again. I was thinking, like idk ive got so many ideas but like what if one day adeline is like 15 and she kills someone out of instinct, rage etc. And shes rlly guilty and chrollo happens to be in the same city/area n sees n hes gives her the talk??? Like "it is what it is". Maybe even helps her hide the body n evidence so his ex s/o doesn't flip? Totally understand if u dont wanna do 2 requests in a row, love ya xx.
I'm totally fine with doing two in a row baby~ I'm just a little slow is all 🤣 I've had a lot of social interaction going on today and then I came home and now I gotta fix my room so if this doesn't come out the same day I apologize 😅 (probably won't, I'm just super tired) Warning: abuse and violence
Tumblr media
Adeline’s chest was heaving, her throat feeling as if she were breathing fire instead of air. Her chest and cheeks were colored an angry red and her legs were beginning to go numb. She couldn’t fall now, not when he was quick on her heels. Tears stained her cheeks, still falling from her eyes. The adrenaline continued to push her forward. To keep her running as fast as she could. The ponytail that held her hair up finally gave way, allowing her long black hair to block some of her vision when she turned around for a split second.
Danny was still too close for her to even begin to slow, his stamina almost inhuman.
A sob wracked her entire body at the sight and she nearly tripped. Her eyes frantically darted everywhere. Where could she run that would slow him down? Could she hide anywhere? Was there anyone else around? She had to find something to at least slow him down. Was there anything at all? Running straight through the pathway in the woods had proven to be a bad idea after she came out into a vast meadow of nothing but grass and dirt patches.
“Adeline-”
“Leave me alone!” her voice screeched into the evening air, tearing at the tissue in her throat. She prayed her voice would be heard by someone. Anyone. Danny’s pace picked up, his arms quickly enveloping her, crushing her ribs.
“Adeline Lucilfer-”
“LET GO OF ME!” her fist reached up, coming into contact with his jaw and forcing his head up roughly. Danny released her, his hands covering his mouth at the throbbing pain he was probably experiencing. Adeline wasted no time to be proud of herself and began to run again, but her legs weren’t having it. The short time she had been stopped caused her muscles to relax and they wouldn’t cooperate anymore. Instantly, she fell forward, trying to force herself up again and keep going. She heard the deep groan of pain resonating in Danny’s chest. Her heart raced. What could she do? Her legs were rendered completely useless right now and there was nothing she could defend herself with other than her own two fists.
All the running she had done was starting to catch up to her too, her lungs having a hard time allowing her to breathe and her throat burning. Her body wouldn’t help her this time. She was sure she was done for. Adeline flipped onto her back, trying to almost crab walk away while Danny was still getting his bearings. When his eyes met hers, they were swirling with nothing but pure malice. He’d had enough.
“Adeline...” his voice was soft despite his hard face. Her own eyes grew wide, tears once again blurring her vision. The only thing she could actually see was Danny’s broad shape standing to his full height, strolling towards her slowly.
“No... no, no, no, no- Danny please, just leave me alone!” she opted to beg for him, hoping that some slimmer of his good side would show through, showing him what he was actually doing. What he was about to do. Danny didn’t seem to notice her begging or at the very least he didn’t seem to care. Adeline pushed herself up to run but she wasn’t fast enough. A harsh blow was received directly between her shoulder blades, forcing any air in her lungs out within a matter of seconds. She choked, falling onto her chest again. Coughing, she made another attempt to steady herself, but another hit was taken on her lower back. It didn’t hurt as bad as the first one, but the initial shock caused her to hesitate for just a moment too long. A rough hand snatched up her arm and suddenly her body was flipped onto its back. Danny dropped to his knees on top of her and she watched his fist slam into her chest.
Another hit.
Another.
And another.
Her face.
Her chest.
Her stomach.
Adeline was limp on the ground, her breathing becoming more and more labored as the sun set behind her. Her vision had gone completely blurry and she could feel the large bruises forming on her skin. He was brutal. Adeline was only 15, this shouldn’t of been happening. She should have listened to you. She should have listened when you told her to find Chrollo and bring him to her. She should have listened when you said to have Chrollo handle ‘daddy’. But she didn’t. Adeline thought she could protect you from Danny. She wanted to be the hero.
“Are you done running, Adeline?” his voice broke her thoughts. She couldn’t even bring herself to make eye contact with him, still watching the sun fall below the horizon, stars beginning to twinkle in the distance.
“Answer me.” the command shook her.
“Yes...” she tried to form the word properly but her tongue was too big for her mouth all of a sudden.
“Yes what?”
“Yes... daddy...” his sexualization of the word sickened her, but she couldn’t bear to be hit again. She might go unconscious if he struck another blow. He stood, taking her by the shirt collar and making her stand. She stumbled, coming across something in her jacket pocket as her hand fell in while she stabilized herself on her knees.
Her house key.
Hope pushed through her misery. She could put an end to this. An end to him.
“Hurry up, your mother can’t be alone for too long, not with that Chrollo guy running around still. Fucking scumbag..” Danny scoffed, turning to face her again. It hurt her to hear him call Chrollo such a thing. Chrollo had been nothing but sweet you her and you when he came over to see you. She wasn’t sure of why it was her specifically that he wanted to see, but that was probably what you meant to talk to her about today.
“Let’s go!” he ordered, waiting impatiently. Adeline didn’t move, thinking her plan out of how to end this man. This horrible, sick man. Her hand stayed within her pocket, fingering the key in thought. Danny’s teeth ground together, his feet stomping up to the young girl.
“Was I not clear enough? I said let’s go-” when he raised his hand to hit her again, he left himself open. Adeline slid the key out of her pocket and dug it across his throat. At first, she thought she failed as no blood even shown. What gave it away was Danny’s mere expression of surprise. An uneven white slit on his neck turned dark red as it spotted with blood. Then, it poured. The red liquid ran down his chest, leaving the man choking on himself. Adeline slowly backed away, hoping he wouldn’t charge at her in a spur of the moment. Danny did no such thing, solely focused on the fact that his throat had been slit. The fact that he was going to die. Adeline didn’t know what else to do other than watch him struggle to breathe. His hands covered his throat for a moment and wiped at the blood, pulling them away again to see the bright red on his fingers.
“You... you cut me...” his voice was weak and shaky. Adeline didn’t reply. She backed away more, falling onto the ground as her legs fell numb from running. She kept backing away from him, trying to keep her distance.
“Adeline...” he was trying to make her feel like shit, and it was working. What had she done? She just killed the man she called her father and for what? Her mother? Herself? She didn’t even know the answer as he crawled forward. She moved backwards, keeping her distance from him. Danny fell to his knees before her, hand outstretched.
“Why would you... why would you do this?” he kept going as if he didn’t know. As if he hadn’t been the cause of so many sleepless night for both Adeline and yourself. How was he not dead yet? He had to die soon, this was too painful for her to watch. Danny balanced himself on his free hand while the other tried to hold his neck closed, stopping himself from bleeding out. Faster, he scrambled towards her. Adeline held no mercy in her leg as it surged outward, kicking him in the nose. He recoiled on the dirt. Crying. Danny had never cried before, in fact, it was always Adeline and you who cried because of him. Nonetheless, listening to the man sob, helpless and dying in the dust made Adeline nauseous. She couldn’t take this, she couldn’t just sit her and watch him bleed out. But she felt like she couldn’t leave him alone here either. Dying alone was her worst fear. The knowledge of murdering somebody and leaving them to nature made her wretch up her dinner. Doubling over, she puked to the sound of Danny’s final sobs.
Her hands trembled as she held the key in her hand. Why hadn’t he continued to fight her? He still had a chance and he just laid there, surprised by her courage to go so far as to slit his throat. Again, her stomach shoved food up and out of her esophagus, a horrid stench clouding her senses. Her shoulders shook as she lay there on the ground. She didn’t even hear the footsteps come up from behind her.
“Adeline?” a gentle male voice startled her, making her gag on her own vomit. She turned, her eyes meeting Chrollo’s. His brows we’re furrowed, worry obvious in his features.
“What happened?” he kneeled down to her, ignoring her mess underneath her and behind her, curled up in the dirt. Dead.
“I... I can’t-” and she threw up again. Chrollo’s hands worked themselves into her hair, pulling it back for her to keep it out of her face.
“You’re okay, I’m right here.” he shushed her gently, his free hand rubbing her back in an attempt to comfort her shaking form. Another vile pool retched out of her mouth, hacking and dry heaving following suit.
Eventually, she managed to calm down. Adeline sat up and wiped her mouth with her jacket sleeve, quickly becoming disgusted with the action and discarding of the attire altogether. She wheezed against her sore throat, the tops of her lungs burning again like when she was running.
“Can you tell me what happened?” Chrollo didn’t even seem affected by the dead man right next to him, even taking a chance to glance at him. His eyes didn’t linger too long on Danny, obviously more worried about Adeline herself than anything. When his eyes met hers again, she couldn’t help but let those tears from before slip out and onto her bruised cheeks and chest. Chrollo didn’t push her any further, instead moving closer to her and embracing her. Every instinct told her to push him away, that she was a monster and that she didn’t deserve this kind of treatment, not after killing somebody. But her weakness didn’t allow her to fight back and she simply melted against Chrollo’s chest, sobbing and quaking. You always told Adeline that Chrollo was a sweet-tempered man, that he was always patient with you and with his friends. It seemed you had been right. He didn’t force Adeline to tell him anything, he didn’t shove her away or treat her unkindly. He knew she wasn’t a bad person and that she was in a state of distress. He had to of known that Adeline wouldn’t kill someone without having a reason. A good one at that.
“Now, Adeline,” he started, lifting her head up to look at him in the eyes. The same eyes as her own. Almost like staring back at her own reflection. It was strange, “I do want to hear about this, however we don’t have much time. We need to dispose of this immediately.” she could hear the urgency edging in his voice, but he still held a level of stability. Adeline nodded, pressing her hands into the dirt to push her body back upright. He followed her over to Danny and thought for a moment, hand on his chin.
“Okay, I’ll have someone take care of this here in a second. I’ll call him.” Chrollo was speaking more to himself than to Adeline, pulling out his phone and dialing a number before letting it ring. She didn’t hear the other end pick up, but it was apparently instant, as Chrollo began speaking to the other man. He gave him their location and the situation at hand, even mentioning his daughter.
At first, this confused Adeline. She wasn’t his daughter. She was Danny’s daughter... her brows furrowed and her arms crossed over her chest. What was he talking about? Sure they had the same eyes and the same hair, and even the same nose now that she really looked at him. You had never told her anything about Chrollo being your father.
“Alright, he’ll be here shortly-” he started after hanging up.
“You called me your daughter..?” she knew it was rude to cut him off, but she couldn’t help it. She felt like she needed to know, felt as if she had the right to know. Chrollo turned his attention her, setting his phone back into his pocket.
“Yes. I did. Y/n never told you?” even through the monotone sound Adeline swore she could hear the hint of pain there. You told her Chrollo didn’t feel much, but when he did they were pretty strong emotions.
“No...” it was the only word she could think of to respond with. At first, she didn’t know how to feel. She didn’t blame you or anything, understanding that she was young and you must not have wanted to confuse her. You may have even planned to tell her now. Then the reason behind Danny’s outrage hit her like a train.
She gasped out loud, her facial expression giving her away. Chrollo’s own features formed into a visual of worry.
“What? What’s wrong?” almost as if it was his instinct. That gave her even more evidence that he was truly her father. Danny never worried about her, but any slight movement drove Chrollo to panic.
“How long until that guy gets here?”
“Already behind you baby~” a deep voice sounded from behind her. Adeline turned around but was met with a stomach instead of a head. Craning her neck up, she found an exceptionally tall man with tan skin and fluffy grey hair. He smiled down at her.
“So this is Adeline boss?” he was addressing Chrollo, who nodded in response.
“Yes, she’s just finding this out as well. Adeline, meet Uvogin.” he explained. Uvogin made a face down at the both of them.
“Wait, you’re saying y/n never told you Chrollo was your daddy?” he kneeled down to her level, she could see his level of confusion even better now. She shook her head.
“Honestly, I suspected considering that my appearance is much like that of his own. Especially in the eyes and the nose,” she turned to face Chrollo who was also watching her, “and I looked nothing like Dan either.” she explained, finding herself being rather analytical. It wasn’t unlike her, as she grew she came to terms with the fact that she enjoyed learning and finding out new things. You always told her that she was intelligent. Uvogin laughed though, standing back up all the way.
“Damn boss she even sounds like you. It’s adorable. Anyway, where do you want me to put this thing? I assume this is Danny?” Uvogin wrapped his hand around the corpse’s waist, throwing it over his shoulder. The sight made Adeline sick and she doubled over again, nearly throwing up. Chrollo was at her side in an instant, holding on to her to make sure she didn’t fall.
“Sorry babe, I forgot you’re not used to that.” Uvogin turned his head away in apology. Adeline raised her hand to signal that he was fine but didn’t turn around for another minute or so, Chrollo soothing her the whole time. She felt dizzy when she met Uvogin’s eyes. The little names her called her were of some comfort, considering this must have been Chrollo’s–her father’s–friend.
“Well, I’ll just take it with me so you two can have your moment or whatever. Tell her everything.” Uvogin sent a finger gun Chrollo’s way and sprinted off, leaving the Chrollo and Adeline alone. She was felt slightly perturbed by Uvogin’s absences, it was so quick.
And tell her everything is just what Chrollo did.
Chrollo told her about how he made you leave in an effort to keep you safe. He told her about his background, about the troupe, about you. About how much he missed you. About how badly he wanted to see Adeline born but he couldn’t because he was too far out. Adeline didn’t interrupt with anything, though she still had so many questions, but he kept going. He must have wanted to enforce as much trust in her as he could. It was working.
“I’m sorry for not being there and I’m even more apologetic for driving your mother away, it was for her safety...” his eyes never left hers.
“I understand, and mom does too. She was just upset.” Adeline accepted this apology even though she felt like he shouldn’t even be apologizing. It wasn’t his fault. He was just trying to protect you the best way he could think of. Chrollo let out a breath she didn’t know he was holding.
“Now, please, explain to me why you killed Danny?” there was no filter. It made Adeline’s stomach churn at the thought, the feeling of the house key tearing through his skin. She took a deep breath.
“I think mom was going to explain everything to me,” her voice had become shaky. She sat on the ground and curled into herself to gain some comfort as Chrollo followed, an arm draping over her shoulders and keeping her close, “and I think Danny somehow found out... and got upset about it. He liked when I called him ‘daddy’ almost in a like sexual way...” she tried to explain without crying but the word was almost triggering. She hated the way he’d make her use it. He become irrationally upset with her if she called him dad instead of daddy. It was disgusting...
“And I don’t know why... I think he... he just...” she was desperately trying to think of her next words. What could she say next? How should this all go? Chrollo was patient with her the whole time, never getting upset with her or scoffing. He just listened. She was so confused on everything that had just happened and the fact that it all happened so quickly.
“I don’t know, all I remember was that mom said she was going to talk to me and then I went in my room for like 5 minutes and then I heard her screaming,” she sniffled, not able to hold back her tears again. Her head fell into her knees for a few minutes before coming back up to take a deep breath, “and a loud bang against the-the counter. Dan was yelling at her about something, I can’t remember. So I went down to see her and make sure he didn’t hit her like I thought he did, but he did. Chrollo he hurt her...” Adeline was full on sobbing again, feeling another round of bile ease it’s way into her mouth. Chrollo’s grip on her tightened and he rocked her, letting one of his hands rub her arm. She laid her head on his shoulder and he rested his chin on her temple.
“Is she okay now?”
“I don’t know. She told me to just go and get help but instead I got upset and threw the pan she was cooking with at him. Obviously he got mad and started chasing me, so I tried to defend myself as best I could and-”
“It’s okay, I understand. It’s alright...” he continued his motions, keeping her at bay from breaking.
“Do you think you can take me to y/n?” Chrollo asked after Adeline had calmed down. She nodded, standing again.
“Yeah, I wanna make sure she’s okay after all of that. He didn’t get to hurt her too bad that I knew of.” she wiped the tears away with her hand, searching for her jacket somewhere. She found it next to a bush along with her bloody house key. Picking both items up she led Chrollo home, hoping to find you there, okay and at the very least, resting.

could i request a fluff and angst oneshot where reader finds out shes pregnant with changbins baby and shes nervous to tell him and when she does he had a bad reaction but later he comes around, thank u!! 💖💖💖 please take ur time :)
you and changbin have been dating for awhile now, and its pretty serious. you two have a shared apartment, and even though you both have busy work schedules, you always make time for each other. unfortunately, recently you have been feeling really sick, and you don’t want to bother changbin because he’s having a comeback soon. he’s been spending late nights in the studio, so you decided to go to a walk in clinic. you had been very nauseous and tired recently, but when the doctor asked if you might be pregnant, you denied it right away. you and changbin always use protection. you just have a bad stomach flu. but ever since you left the doctors office, the idea of you being pregnant wouldn't leave your mind. to calm you worries, you decided to go to the local drug store and buy a pregnancy test, to assure yourself that you weren’t pregnant. when you got home, you felt more anxious about the test. your period was late this month but late periods can be normal right? what if you were pregnant? its not like you and changbin haven't talked about having kids and getting married. but those were your future plans. right now he’s doing so well, the timing would be horrible for you to be pregnant. but you finally decided to bite the bullet and take the test. you put the test on your bathroom counter and set a timer. the anticipation was killing you, this can change your life. it can change your life andchangbin’s life. the alarm finally went off and you walked into the bathroom, feeling more nauseous than ever. you took a deep breath, picked up the test and looked at it. your eyes immediately filled with tears, and you slid down to the floor, feeling sick. positive. you were pregnant. you pulled your knees into your chest and buried your face into them. hugging yourself on your bathroom floor while crying is not how you imagined yourself finding out that your pregnant. you were finally going to be mother, and have a baby with the man you love. but it feels so bitter. he’s already so busy and overwhelmed with his job, how is he going to take this news? you wiped off your tears and hid the test in your purse. you felt emotionally drained, so you decided to book a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning, and go to sleep.
the next morning you woke up in changbin’s embrace. you wish you could just cuddle deeper into him, but it makes you feel guilty for not telling him. quietly getting up out of bed, you get ready for your doctors appointment. changbin was fast asleep, probably because he came home late. at the appointment, your doctor informed you that you are in fact pregnant. it now feels so real. you've always wanted to have kids, and having kids with changbin was what you always wanted. you arrived home, and found chagrin on the couch eating cereal and watching tv. he immediately smiled when you walked through the front door. “hi love! where were you this morning?” he asked pulling you into a hug. “I had a checkup at the doctor” even though you know changbin loves you with his whole being, you still felt so on edge about delivering the news to him. “ah okay. i’m sorry I haven’t been home much, I have just been so busy with finalizing this album before the release. but today I have the day off, so I thought we could spend it together.” he said and then pecked you on your lips. “that sounds perfect binnie.” you kissed him back. “but I have to tell you something first.” you said while breaking eye contact. “okay. you can tell me anything love. what is it?” he started to rub small circles on the back of your hand, a habit he did that he knew calmed you down. nodding, you took a deep breath, “i'm...pregnant.” you huffed out. changbin’s face went blank and he stopped rubbing circles on you hands. you two sat there in silence, and changbin’s face was unreadable. it was blank. he looked so pale, it made you nervous. “you’re kidding right?” his eyes looked at yours for reassurance. when you shook your head no, he let go of your hands. you grabbed onto your purse, ready to show him the test, when he stood up and said “I can’t do this right now” and picked up his stuff and left your apartment. you stood there stunned, but quickly followed after him and he was too fast and drove off. tears started streaming down your face. changbin always supported and loved you no matter what, and never left like this. you understand that hes overwhelmed but he just left. will he ever be back? you found just enough strength to walk back to your apartment, before you fell onto the couch and sobbed for hours.
you woke up the next morning on the couch, you fell asleep after you cried. looking around the apartment, changbin is nowhere to be found. you grabbed a glass of water and sat back down on the couch, and wrapping yourself in a blanket. you started to re-analyze your last conversation you had with changbin right before he left. but the front door of your apartment broke you from your thoughts. the sight in front of you killed you. changbin stood there with teary eyes, and a pained expression. he was wearing one of chan’s hoodies, so you assumed he stayed at chan’s place. he slowly walked up to you and sat next to you. he looked into your eyes and started crying more. “I'm so sorry” he whispered before more tears pooled in his eyes. “I'm such a coward I shouldn't have left you like that, I should have spoke to you.” he shoved his face in his hands. “I love you so much, I was just so overwhelmed.” he started crying harder, at this point he was hyperventilating. you quickly pulled him into your arms and kissed the top of his head. “its just that work has been a lot lately, its clouding my brain. but that's no excuse for leaving you. I could have really messed things up.” he was shaking in your arms and it broke your heart. “but I know that you are the love of my life, and I want to have kids with you.” he said, and you pulled him in for a proper hug, and at this point you were crying too. “im sorry if I hurt you when I left, I just needed to process everything.” “its okay binnie, I understand.” you pecked his cheek. “but I promise that I will love and support you and this baby for the rest of my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you y/n.” a tear slid down your cheek, and changbin gently wiped it away. “I love you so much changbin, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you too. “ you giggled and then leaned in and connected your lips with changbins. the kiss was passionate and yet so loving. “we are going to have a little family together.” changbin said, and he smiled so wide it made you smile.

Tumblr media
Everything. Everything was going wrong today, nothing wanted to go proper for you. Your vision slowly started to blur as tears welled up, you sniffled and wiped your eyes carefully. The day was almost over and you were ready to go home but someone seemed to have other plans for you. “Are you kidding me,” you dejectedly mumbled under your breath.
The last bus home had already left which left you one of two options, neither pleasing. Walk home or call someone to get you, that's all you could do. Your mind started to race as you thought of who you could call, the obvious answer was Chenle but he was busy preparing for a show the next day and you had already bugged him enough about your day. Sometimes you feel like a nuisance to Chenle so you didn't want to keep that up.
Crestfallen you started your long journey home, feet already beginning to hurt after no more than 20 steps. Your cheeks burned as the tears continued to fall showing no sign of stopping. “Stupid,, fucking,, day,” your voice cracked as you kicked at the air with every word. To bystanders, you looked like you were losing your mind but you could have cared less.
Out of your peripheral, you noticed a black van slowing down near you. Honestly, if you were smart you would have realized sooner who it was but you didn't. Your heart started to pound rapidly against your chest even more tears falling due to your fear of what they wanted.
The car stopped right next to you, causing you to halt in your spot when you noticed a familiar look to it. The door opened and Chenle burst out, wrapping his arms around you. You started to cry harder and hug him back “Why didn't you call and have me get my manager to pick you up?” he asked, feeling slightly hurt that you didn't.
“I felt like a nuisance and didn’t want to disturb you,” you cried into his warm embrace. He sighed and placed a kiss on top of your forehead. “How did you find me?” you asked feeling curious as to how he knew you missed your bus and how he knew where you'd be.
“You always text me when you get on the bus but you didn't so I was worried,” he tried to let go of you but you refused. His sweet laugh rang through your ears as he slightly loosened your grip on him and turned around so you were hugging his back. “Come on baby, why don't you come to my house for a bit and we can have a little movie night or something.” The tears started to halt and you smiled, a movie night with Chenle sounded beyond perfect. You hummed in response and followed him into the car, feeling sad that you had to let go of him.
The ride to his house was silent as he gently rubbed his thumb over the top of your hand, every once and awhile bringing your hand up to place a sweet kiss on it. “You know just how to make my day better,” you said, laughing at thinking how hysterical and stupid you must've looked. Chenle leaned forward and peered at your face, seemingly knowing what you were thinking.
“You know, I don't understand how someone can always look so perfect?? After all the crying you just did maybe I'd be able to see something wrong but I can't?” he smiled at his own words, fixing your hair a bit. Wanting to poke some fun at him for being cheesy you realize that you couldn't. The tears that had finally stopped started up once more. “Oh no, why are you crying?” he asked with a pout.
“Because, because of im so happy and I love you,” you cried out, hands waving. “I love you too Y/n,” his voice was gentle as he leaned over and pulled you into his chest the best he could. You wiped your eyes when you arrived at his house.
You hugged Chenle’s back tightly making him giggle once more, slowly taking off your shoes and jackets and heading to his room. Not once letting go of the warm boy. His back bringing a sense of peace over you, calming the rough waves of today the crashed against your head relentlessly. Just being near Chenle made you feel like you were laying in a meadow with the sun cascading down on your skin leaving behind a warm tingly feeling.
As you approached his room you finally let go. He opened his door and immediately picked out a random movie, placing it in. You, on the other hand, made your way to his closet and put on one of his shirts. Smiling triumphantly you couldn't help but giggle to yourself.
As you went to crawl into his bed Chenle placed his hands on your waist, spinning you around so you were facing him. The gesture made butterflies float all through you. “Y/n,,-” he started, eyes wandering all over your face before they landed on your lips, his grip tightened slightly “-I love you so much and I want you to know that you are never a nuisance.,” he ended his sentence with a slow and gentle peck to your lips. The kiss may have been simple but that didn't stop it from being full of love and passion, your mind blanking. Your knees nearly betrayed you but Chenle wrapped his arm around your back, pulling you into his chest and deepening the kiss. When you pulled away your face gave away your obvious flustered mind.
Chenle smiled softly at you, rubbing his eyes with a big yawn, “Now let's cuddle,” he beamed while grabbing your hand and pulling you down into his bed. He pulled you against his chest, his head nestled into the back of your neck. One of his legs crossed over you making you guys even closer There was barely any space between the both of you. He placed a soft kiss on your neck and sighed. In the darkness of your day, Chenle’s cuddles were heaven.
“I love you Chenle, and, thank you,” your voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke. He hummed in response, his eyes growing heavier by the second. About to speak up and say more you stopped when you heard his calm breathing. Slightly turned your head a smile grew on your face at the amazing sight. Even sleeping he was still so ethereal looking. “Cute,” you whispered before kissing his nose and turning back to face the TV. “I guess I wasn't the only one with a bad day,” you quietly said to yourself. Soon joining Chenle in a warm and peaceful slumber.

Always You
Alright anyways im in pain so here is what happens after ep 12 in my mind.
Read on ao3 here
After talking to Sarawat, Tine finally felt reassured that he didn’t need to worry about Pam. That is until he saw them hugging outside the music room.
Suddenly that nauseous pull was back in the pit of his stomach and he didn’t know what to do other than run. The past few days he had built up all these feelings he wasn’t allowing himself to let go of.
He kept thinking Sarawat would forget about him and go back to Pam, there was no way that Tine was good enough for him. How could he think that Sarawat would stay with him? Over and over again things keep going wrong and now a new face, no his first love, was back in his life reminding Sarawat how it could be easier. It was inevitable for Wat to leave him for Pam, it made sense. So Tine ran and hid in the stairwell, finally releasing all his emotions. He cried out in pain, it hurt so much.
Tine never though it could hurt like this. Love was supposed to be fun and light and warm so why did it hurt so much? He cried so hard it really did feel like he would throw up, he tried so hard to control his breathing but all he could do was choke in between sobs.
Tine’s head was spinning as he started sinking to the ground, leaning against the cold brick wall as he went, it scraped his arm but he could care less about physical pain right now. He curled in on himself, wanting to be as small as possible as waves of emotion continued to rip through him. He was shaking when he felt a touch on his back.
“Tine” He heard next to his ear. It was quiet, almost too quiet to hear. When Tine didn’t react the hand on his back started rubbing in slow circles.
“Tine, you need to tell me what’s wrong.” The voice tried again.
Tine’s crying started to subside but he was still breathing heavily. He looked up at Sarawat, his face was full of concern and it looked like he was holding back tears himself.
“What is it?” He asked again.
“Why don’t you go back to Pam.” Tine threw at him. He wasn’t even angry, not really. He could never truly be angry at Sarawat but he didn’t know what else to do.
Tine pushed Wat away and stood up shakily. Sarawat just stared.
“Don’t follow me.” Tine spit out, he tried his best to sound like he meant it.
Tine walked off without looking back but he could feel Sarawat staring at him.
---
Sarawat didn’t really want to tutor Pam today. What he really wanted was to be in bed with his arms wrapped around his boyfriend.
He still couldn’t believe that Tine felt so insecure about their relationship, Sarawat tried everything he could to reassure him; to let him know he was the only one on his mind. If he could wrap Tine up in bubble wrap to protect him from everything he would. That’s why when he found Tine crying in the stairwell he wanted nothing more than to hold him tight and tell him everything was okay.
He knew that Tine had seen Pam hug him, Sarawat pushed her off and told her he had a boyfriend before running after Tine. He didn’t hesitate putting a hand on his back and rubbing in small circles to let him know he was there.
What he wasn’t expecting was Tine to run away.
He just stood there, and watched the man he loved run from him, and it hurt. He was staying strong while Tine was there but now that he was alone he let his tears fall. Sarawat wasn’t one to cry but he couldn’t help his emotions spilling over. It hurt. Why did it hurt? He loved Tine, love should be fun and light and warm but having Tine push him away hurt like nothing else.
Sarawat felt a pull at the bottom of his stomach. He wiped his tears and buried it all down like usual, ignoring the pain for the sake of Tine because that’s all that mattered right now. He stood there for a second, composing himself and deciding if he should go after his boyfriend or listen to his wishes.
 ---
When Tine got back to their place he didn’t really know what to do. How could he run from Sarawat when they shared a life together?
He grabbed a bag and started throwing clothes into it, knowing he could crash with one of his friends. Before he could even grab his tooth brush he heard the front door open and then Sarawat was in front of him.
“Talk to me.” Sarawat said and Tine noticed that he had been crying too.
All Tine wanted to do was run but Sarawat blocked his path. He looked at Sarawat but could only see him with Pam so he looked away. He threw his bag in Sarawats direction and sat down on their bed.
“I’m not good enough.” Tine whispered.
Sarawat was right in front of him, hands on Tine’s knees.
“What?” he asked.
“Pam is perfect for you, she was there first, I’m just the second choice and I can’t measure up.” Tine confessed.
“Would you stop thinking like that? What will it take to let you know that you’re the one? It’s always been you Tine, I love you.” Sarawat said.
This made Tine finally look at his boyfriend. Sarawat had never said those words before.
---
Sarawat ran after Tine, he didn’t care what he said he had to set the record straight.
When he reached their place Tine was throwing clothes into a bag with pain written across his entire being, Sarawat tried his best not to react to the way he looked. Sarawat didn’t want to show it but he felt as bad as Tine looked.
“Talk to me.” He demanded.
Tine threw the bag at him and for a second Sarawat thought his tone was too harsh but then he watched Tine collapse onto the bed.
“I’m not good enough”
“What?” Sarawat rushed in front of his boyfriend, not sure if he heard him right.
“Pam is perfect for you, she was there first, I’m just the second choice and I can’t measure up.” Tine wouldn’t look at him.
Sarawat was infuriated. He wasn’t sure what his anger was directed at, he could never be mad at Tine, was he mad at himself? At Pam? Everyone? Anyone who could ever make Tine feel less than?
“Would you stop thinking like that? What will it take to let you know that you’re the one? It’s always been you Tine, I love you.” That last part hung in the air. Tine looked at him finally. Sarawat searched his face for some kind of response.
“I’m an idiot, huh?” Tine said still sounding small.
“Stop that.” Sarawat said squeezing his leg. He stared at Tine; he could see his brain working on a response. Tine put his hand over Sarawats, where it rested on Tines leg.
“Thank you for loving me.” He finally said. Sarawat smiled.
Tine reached out and cupped his hand over Sarawats cheek, he wiped at a tear that had forced its way out.
“I love you too”

sick in love ted theodore logan x reader
+++++++++ request from @ringa-starr "the reader has the stomach flu and ted takes care of them"
thankd again for being patient with me, i hope you like it!
song: catharsis by motionless in white
tag list: @cynic-spirit +++++++++
I sat in bed with my blanket wrapped tightly around my body, groaning again as I barely shifted my weight over. My whole body hurt and I was tired of getting up to go to the bathroom. As a matter of fact I was just tired in general. I leaned back in hopes to fall back asleep when it hit me again. I threw my blanket off and ran to the bathroom, spilling my guts into the toilet. I breathed heavily as tears stung my eyes. I just wanted to go back to bed. Then there was a knock on the bathroom door. I spit into the bowl.
"Yeah?"
I croaked out.
"Y/n, Ted's here."
I drew my brows together and flushed the toilet. Why was Ted here? I stood up and opened the door, my mother standing there by herself.
"He's in the living room. He brought you lunch."
I raised a brow as I prepped my tooth brush and shoved it in my mouth for what felt like the hundredth time. She sent me a look.
"I know you don't feel good but he brought you soup. Hopefully that will stay down and keep you hydrated."
She kissed my sweaty forehead.
"Now, I've got to go to work. make sure you eat, and drink that Gatorade I bought you. It'll make you feel better."
She brushed my hair out of my face before I leaned down and spit into the sink.
"Okay Mom, I'll see you later."
I followed her out into the living room and saw Ted sitting uncomfortably on the couch. He had only been over a handful of times when my mom had actually been home and still wasn't quiet sure how to act around her. She held the door open.
"Ted, make sure my baby stays safe today."
She then looked at me and pointed.
"No hospital visits either, stay hydrated."
I nodded.
"Okay Mom, I'll see you later."
She nodded before closing the door behind her. I sighed and looked at Ted.
"You look rough."
He said and I sent him a look.
"Thanks, you look great too."
He laughed a little bit.
"That's not what I meant. You're still beautiful, but this is really hitting you isn't it?"
I nodded and walked to him as he stood up. He hugged me tightly to him and rubbed my back.
"I'm so tired of being tired."
I shoved my face into his chest and tried to breathe deeply.
"I brought you soup. It's your favorite, from that little shop on main Street."
I looked up at him and smiled.
"You remembered?"
He smiled widely at me.
"Of course I did babe, you mean a lot to me, why would I forget?"
I leaned forward and kissed his chest.
"I love you Ted."
He ran his hand over my back a few times before kissing the top of my head.
"I love you too y/n."
i hummed for a second before the dizziness hit me again and i wiggled out of his grasp to sit down on the couch. i breathed heavily as i sat back and ran my hands over my face. my eyes were closed when i felt ted sit down next to me.
"do you wanna wait to eat?"
i nodded slowly.
"yeah, right now i just wanna go back to bed."
as soon as i felt his hand slide under my leg my eyes snapped open.
"ted what are you doing?"
he looked a little confused.
"i was gonna carry you back to your room?"
i smiled a little at him, or at least as much as i could muster.
"okay, carry on."
i said weakly and he did as told, scooping one arm under my legs and one behind my back. he lifted me off the couch with ease and i leaned into him, taking in his scent as he carried me back to bed. he set me down gently and went to stand up but i caught his shirt in my hand.
"ted, will you lay with me?"
his eyes got wide.
"uh..."
i frowned and let his shirt go.
"you dont have to ted, i know im sick right now, i shouldnt have asked."
i scooted over to the one side of my bed and worked slowly to get my bedding back in order.
"ya know what, your mom said you werent contagious, it couldnt hurt right?"
i looked up at him, holding the blanket over my body and waiting for him to slide in next to me. he hesitated for a second before removing his jacket and shoes to my floor.
"thanks ted."
i said quietly as he laid down and i got comfortable against him. he cuddled into me, wrapping his arms tightly around me.
"of course babe, anything to make you more comfortable."
i inhaled deeply, trying to focus on my breathing, and before i knew it i was out.
°°°°°°°°°
when i woke up i was still tangled in teds limbs. he was holding me tightly to him, our legs wound together in my duvet. he snored softly, his head resting on top of mine. i smiled to myself for a second before feeling extremely nauseous. my eyes got wide before i started working tirelessly to untangle us and get out of bed as fast as i could. ted was shaken awake as i crawled over him and practically ran to the bathroom. i didnt have time to close the bathroom door as i dropped to my knees and threw up into the toilet like i had so many times earlier in the day. i groaned, sitting back on my heels for a second before throwing up again, thrusting myself forward. i gripped tightly to the bowl as i felt ted pull my hair away from my face and rub my back gently. i coughed harshly, sitting back and wiping more tears away as i flushed the toilet.
"you okay?"
he asked, genuinely concerned. i shook my head no before wrapping my arms around his neck and crying into him.
"i just want to feel better."
i sobbed out. he kept rubbing my back.
"i know babe but its gonna take time."
i sniffled as i pulled away from him.
"i know."
i pouted a little bit, standing with him and brushing my teeth again. after i spit he smiled at me in the mirror.
"wanna go try that soup now? it might make you feel better."
i blinked slowly at him before caving. i couldnt resist the puppy dog look, it just made me weak.
"okay ted, ill try the soup."
he nodded once.
"you go get your blanket and ill meet you on the couch."
he turned quickly out of the bathroom and i did as told, walking very slowly to my room and getting my blanket as well as one of my pillows. if i was camping out on the couch for lunch i was gonna be as comfy as possible. i heard clanking coming from the kitchen and went out to investigate, dropping my bedding on the couch first.
"ted is everything okay in there?"
i asked.
"everything is fine!"
he called back, rushing to the doorway to block my entry to the kitchen. i raised a brow at him.
"are you sure?"
he nodded quickly, grabbing hold of my shoulders and walking me to the couch.
"yep, everythings great. here, get comfy and ill bring it out to you, maybe we could watch a movie or something."
i sat and looked up at him as he walked back to the kitchen.
"okay?"
i said to myself before burrowing into the couch. when he came back out he had the widest smile on his face. he had our one tv tray out with a bowl of soup in the middle, one of the gatorades mom had told me to drink in one corner, and a little vase with a flower in it in the other. i smiled wider than i had all day as he sat it down in front of me.
"what is this?"
i asked in a high tone, he really had surprised me. he kissed the top of my head before sitting down next to me.
"i wanted you to feel special event though you dont feel good. its only a little bit but i got it one my way over earlier and wanted it to be nice for you."
i leaned over and kissed his cheek.
"thanks ted, i love it."
he ran his hand through my hair, holding my head in place as he kissed my forehead.
"youre welcome babe, now come on, before your soup gets cold."
he rubbed his hands on his pants nervously.
"i hope you like it, even left over."
i picked the spoon up and put it in my mouth, moaning a little bit as it hit my taste buds. it was as good as id remembered. i nodded and looked at ted.
"it is great. even left over."
he bounced a little bit in his seat.
"im so glad."
i took another bite and watched as he stood up, walking to our old box tv.
"now, what movie do you wanna watch?"

there was a conversation in the rk1k discord about a spiderman au a while back and i decided to try write something about it bc its consuming like 30% of my brain
idk if i’ll write more (im way better at writing ideas down as bullet points instead of prose) but man it just seems like a neat idea idk
word count: 1.6k
pairing: general
additional tags: human au, physical violence, gavin is an unsympathetic rat boy
Look, Connor considers himself a calm person. He’s level-headed at the best of times. But he’s pretty sure even the calmest person would panic at least a little if they got stuck to their bedroom wall.
One hand is completely splayed out on the ceiling, the other one still stuck to his sneaker. His feet aren’t quite flat on the ceiling, but he certainly wouldn’t have a comfortable fall if he stopped sticking to everything. Why he’s sticking to everything, he still doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know why anything that’s happened to him today has happened; he grew a good three inches taller overnight, he accidentally stuck to his biology textbook - and subsequently tore it to shreds - this morning, and it’s like he’s jumping at the slightest provocation. There’s been a foul taste in his mouth all day, and he swears he somehow burned a piece of paper he chewed on, but he hasn’t got a fever. It doesn’t make any sense.
Even so, the thought sends Connor’s anxiety through the roof…more to the point, his anxiety is making him stick to the fucking roof.
For no good reason, he keeps thinking about yesterday. The field trip to the CyberLife Lab, the spider that crawled onto his hand and left him a painful, bruising bite. The tour guide said something about the experiments they were running on arachnids and other small animals, genetically enhancing them with nanobots in an attempt to slow or prevent extinction, or…something. But that doesn’t make sense. There’s no way to confirm the effects are transmittable to humans.
It’s probably not helping him at all to scream his head off, but he’s not sure what else he can do. He’s pulling his hand away from the ceiling as hard as he can, even trying to pry it off with the sneaker in his other hand, but it’s not working. He’s just putting more cracks in the paint.
He can’t see the door opening from his angle, but he hears it, followed by his dad’s voice: “Connor, are you o-- What the fuck?!”
At the same time as his dad swears, Connor finally frees his hand with a startled yelp. Drywall flakes off with it, but it doesn’t quite fall into his face before his entire upper body falls down with nothing to hold it up. The upside-down view of his room, of his dad’s confused and horrified expression, makes Connor nauseous.
And just a second too late, it strikes him that he’s hanging from the ceiling of an old house by nothing but the balls of his feet. With a dull crunch, the drywall above him gives out and he plummets to the floor. Connor’s fall is half-broken by his bed, but his knees land straight on the floor. Carpet be damned, it’s a rough landing.
And now there’s a perfect handprint of missing drywall on Connor’s ceiling.
---
Okay. So maybe Connor has unhuman abilities thanks to a genetically altered spider. That’s fine, probably. Kind of. Once he figures out how to ignore them, everything can go back to normal.
And for a few weeks, it’s almost like Connor gets away with telling himself that blatant lie. Ignoring them during school is hard and stressful, but at home, he’s free to throw theories (and himself) at the wall to see what sticks; and once he’s done that, he knows how to avoid triggering them. It gets a little bit easier to stop sticking to everything, to stop burning whatever enters his mouth or visibly jumping whenever something sets off his fight-or-flight reflex.
Maybe it’s a smarter idea to tell someone. Or maybe telling someone would be the fastest way to be locked up in a government facility and experimented on until someone wrote a book about him. Or maybe he’s being paranoid, but still, Connor has a bad feeling that he doesn’t want anyone to know what’s happening to him. And apart from his poor father, no one seems to know.
“Hey, jackass! I’m talking to you!”
That might change if this guy doesn’t leave him alone, though. Connor’s sharpened foresight allows him to step out of Gavin’s reach before he can grab Connor by the back of his sweatshirt. Instead of turning back to face Gavin, he pulls up his hood and keeps walking as fast as he can without looking conspicuous.
Gavin reaches out again, successfully pulling Connor back by his backpack. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”
As Connor is forcefully spun around, he barely stops himself from glaring. “I’m pretty sure I’m not. And I’m pretty sure this isn’t even the way to your house, so you ought to turn back and go home.”
Predictably, Gavin ignores him. “Don’t play coy. You promised to help me out with exams, remember? I just need your English notes; I’ll bring them back safe and sound tomorrow, alright?”
“When I promised to help you, I thought that meant tutoring you. I’m not letting you copy my notes. Especially if you’re copying them word-for-word.”
“That was one time--”
“If you don’t want to listen in class, that’s your own problem.” Connor can’t quite stop spite creeping into his voice when he continues: “I’m not letting you get us both in trouble just because you don’t want to stop being an asshole.”
“Watch the tone, robot,” Gavin sneers.
“If you literally ever watched your own, I’d consider it. Instead, you have to waste all your energy on being the biggest dickhead on the planet and pretending you’re not just like every other mediocre straight guy ever.”
He shrugs Gavin off and steps back. “Ask someone else for help. I’m done talking to you.”
That proves to have gone too far as soon as Gavin shoves Connor back into the wall of a nearby building. His backpack stops his body from colliding at full force, but his head still gets knocked pretty hard. Right before Connor recovers, Gavin moves forward and punches him straight in the diaphragm. He doubles over for a moment before Gavin grabs him by the jaw and shoves his head back against the wall.
“Alright, smartass! I’ll give you one more opportunity to do this the easy way.”
It dawns on Connor just then; they’re alone. Connor is the only kid who goes home this way, and he doesn’t live in the nicest part of town. At school, there are always witnesses, no way for people to get away with beating each other up for very long. Out here, people probably won’t step in unless Connor runs for help, and he’s not sure if he can get away fast enough. At least, not without setting off his powers.
Connor bares his teeth. “Smartass this, retard that, do you even know my real name? Is your brain that small?”
Gavin hits him in the stomach again. And again. Connor thinks he hits a kidney on the third strike. And then he makes a snap decision, jerking his head to the side and biting down, hard, on Gavin’s finger.
“Ow, what the fuck?! Ow!”
Gavin recoils, clutching his hand like it’s on fire. Connor didn’t expect such a strong response, but he’s just glad he hasn’t got his back against a wall, and he wants to keep it that way. Without thinking, Connor grabs Gavin by the ears and headbutts him with all the force he can muster.
He promptly realizes a human skull is harder than he thought, so he hurts himself just as much as he hurts Gavin. And he’s within range for Gavin to reel back and knee him directly in the groin. As he curls in on himself, Gavin throws him to the ground and kicks him again in the stomach. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!”
He doesn’t stop, he even kicks and stomps on Connor’s ribs and face a few times for good measure. There’s blood in his mouth, and he’s not 100% sure it’s Gavin’s. He pulls his hood all the way over his face in an attempt to protect himself.
And a few moments later, it abruptly stops. Gavin breathes like he’s tired, but he’s not kicking Connor anymore.
“What are you doing?!” an unknown voice shouts. “Leave them alone!”
Gavin swears through gritted teeth, and Connor hears footsteps sprinting away. He doesn’t get up. The newcomer murmurs under his breath - their? It’s a masculine voice, at least - before more steps are heard. A hand rests on his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
It takes Connor a few moments to find his voice. In the meantime, he drags himself into a sitting position, wincing at the pain. He’s definitely going to have some spectacular bruises, and that’s a best-case scenario. “I think so,” he grits out.
“Can you tell me your name?”
Connor lifts his hood enough to look at the stranger. A tall guy with tawny skin, who looks to be a little older than Connor. His head is shaved, but there’s a ghost of stubble on his jaw. His eyes are heterochromatic, focused intently on Connor even as he not-too-subtly gawks at the stranger’s arms. He’s obviously athletic, and the tank top he’s wearing doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination.
Oh, right. Still bi.
And still in immense physical pain. Connor leans over and cradles some of the worse pain spots. “I’m Connor.”
“Markus,” the stranger replies.
Something feels amiss all of a sudden. It’s close to that distinct feeling Connor gets when he’s in danger, but there’s something off about it. It’s pulling him towards something instead of away; towards Markus, specifically. Some unheard epiphany is pulling at the corners of Connor’s mind, stronger and stronger until it snaps. Almost simultaneously, they speak:
“You’re like me…”

It was a beautiful day in the Grand Line. The sun was shining brightly in the sky. The birds were soaring through the clear blue sky. The white puffy clouds were scuttling along. There weren't any signs of marines. It was a calm and peaceful day. Sanji took the opportunity to cut some watermelon for you all - much to your delight. You decided to take a stroll in Nami's tangerine garden. You took a deep breath. The smell of citrus lingered in the atmosphere.
You watched everyone over at the main deck. There was lots of commotion, just like any other day with the StrawHats. Sanji was flirting with Nami. Robin was reading a book. Zoro was taking a nap. Usopp, Chopper and Luffy were all fishing together. They all seemed extremely concentrated. Luffy started to pull on his fishing rod. Chopper and Usopp pulled too to help him. Eventually, what looked to seem a huge crab was on the deck. It was trying to escape, probably because it didn't want to be eaten. Luffy punched it, and it stopped moved around.
"We caught a huge crab today!" Luffy declared proudly.
"How the hell did he catch a crab on a fishing rod?" Nami asked. She rubbed her temples out of annoyance.
"Who cares? Sanji grill it up so we can all eat it." Usopp grinned.
"It looks edible. We should totally eat it!" Chopper added.
You felt your heart drop. You walked down the stairs to the main deck to take a closer look at the crab. Yep it was definitely one. You grimaced. You had an allergic reaction to shellfish. Thankfully, it wasn't
too severe. The last time you ate one was when you were five years old. You ended up with hives, abdominal pain and diarrhea afterwards. You even threw up a few times. You shuddered at the memory. It was a terrible couple days.
Sanji swung the dead crab over his shoulder and headed over to the kitchen. "If everyone wants me to grill it up. I'll go ahead and do that. It seems like a nice day too to have a barbecue outside. Grilled crab legs will taste just fine. I'll be sure to make it extra nice for my sweet Nami, Robin and [first name]."
Luffy, Usopp and Chopper started to run around and shout in excitement. "Barbecue! Barbecue! Barbecue!" They chanted.
Nami snacked them all in the head and told them to quiet down. Zoro was still asleep through all their commotion. You felt your mouth drop. Amazing..
You were hesitant about telling Sanji about your allergy. What kind of pirate is allergic to shellfish? That's a large portion of the sea you weren't able to eat. It was pathetic. You were usually able to avoid shellfish because Sanji would cook up other foods, but today you guys were just having that huge crab your captain caught. It would probably last for days. You felt sick to your stomach.
"Are you doing okay [first name]? Do you need a checkup?" Chopper trotted over and asked you.
You shook your head and forced a smile. "I'm okay Chopper. Don't worry about me. I'm excited about the barbecue."
He was hesitant about leaving you, but then relented and joined the others to create some more ruckus.
Sanji brought out the pieces of crab and the huge barbecue grill. He also brought garlic butter sauce with him. He turned the grill on. The thick metal rods started to turn red hot. You started to feel nauseous again. You watched the cook place the pieces of crab legs on the grill swiftly. After they were finished grilling, he drizzled the garlic butter sauce on top. You watched as he cut the fruit up swiftly and excellently. He was fast with those fingers. He cut up some more fresh fruit and made some more fruit skewers. He poured everyone some alcohol into glasses.
Sanji hung his jacket over the chair. He tie was also removed. He removed the cigarette from his mouth and exhaled the soft tendrils of smoke. He seemed to noticed your gaze. You've been watching him prepare the food for awhile now. You didn't seem to notice him standing right in front of you now.
"Is everything alright [first name]?" He asked softly.
You shook your head. "I'm fine don't worry about me. I can't wait for the food!"
"It's just about ready actually. I'll serve you first."
"No fair! I wanted to get my food first!" Luffy shouted.
"Shut up! Nami, Robin and [first name] get to eat first. The rest of you idiots can wait."
Sanji handed you your plate first. Your stomach lurched. The smell brought back some terrible memories, but you couldn't say you no. You felt bad as stupid as it seemed. You've only been on the crew for a month. The last thing you wanted was to cause trouble for the others. Sanji was a nice guy and went through all that trouble for you.
You gulped. You decided not to touch the crab and instead started to munch on the fruit. The juices spilt forth and quenched your thirst. You continued to munch on them and talked with the others. Everyone was shouting and singing.
"Are you not hungry [first name]? You haven't touched your crab legs. I can have them if you want."
Luffy said. Before you could answer, he reached over to try and take them.
Sanji smacked his arm away. "Don't touch them you idiot! It's for [first name]!"
"I'm okay really. I'm not a fan of crab anyway." You said.
"Come on you can't say that without even trying it." Zoro said. It seemed like the swordsman finally woke up from his nap to eat.
"I agree. Sanji's cooking is really something! Meals are something we all look forward too now." Nami added. "Just take a bite."
Everyone's eyes were on you. The pressure of eating was starting to get to you. Your stomach lurched again. The nausea clawed at your throat, and you tried forced it down the bile. You took a piece of crab and took a bite. Your tastebuds danced in delight. They were right. It's delicious. You finished the whole piece.
"It's amazing. Wow Sanji you're really talented aren't y-" Your voice was cut off from a fit of coughing. Your stood up from where you were sitting. Your chest started to ache. Your eyes started to water. Your breathing hitched. They became more and more shallow.
You lost the colour from your face. You swayed for just a moment before you felt a pair of arms catch you and lower you to the ground. The whole world started to spin, and everything became pitch black.
***
You could hear the worried voices around you, but you weren't able to make out the words at first. Eventually, you started to hear familiar voices.
"Is she okay?"
"Your food is killing her that's what's happening."
"Shut up mosshead! Are you trying to pick a fight?"
"Can I finish the rest of her food?"
"How could you say that? You're the captain! If you're going to be useless, then I'll take charge. Captain Usopp demands you help [first name]!"
"Everyone get out! I'm the doctor and I need to treat her!"
You finally came to and saw a blurry figure standing before you. It was a reindeer. You looked closely to realize it was Chopper. He was treating you.
"Don't get up. I'm still making the medicine to treat your hives. They're all over your arms."
You laid back down and felt your stomach lurch again. This time you couldn't hold back the nausea. You ran for somewhere to contain all your vomit. This time it was Usopp's bag. He left it in infirmary when he was in there earlier.
Chunks of partially digested crab spewed out of your coughing, choking mouth. Your stomach kept on contracting violently and forcing everything up and out. Your face was white and dripping bile, sweat, and tears. Your lurched forward and sunk to your knees. The pungent stench invaded your nostrils and you heaved even though there was nothing left to go.
"I'm sorry. I was allergic. Everyone seemed excited so I was afraid to say anything. All I did was cause everyone more trouble..." You said softly, choking back the tears. You were so embarrassed. You felt pathetic. Vomiting and collapsing like that.
There was a puff of smoke that appeared in the room. You glanced up to see the cook standing at the doorway. You looked away in embarrassment. It was probably him who caught you anyway.
"You really worried us you know. I thought you were a goner. I'm glad Chopper is here to help you out. I'm also glad I was able to catch you too." He smiled.
You rolled your eyes but a smile crept on your face. "The crab..it tasted good. I wouldn't mind trying it again."
Sanji chuckled. He took the cigarette out of his mouth and stepped on it so the fire would go out. He walked over to you. He squatted down since you were on for floor. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you close, gently rubbing your arm. Despite the queasiness in your stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of your body pressed against his. You sunk into the warmth of his side, appreciative of the simple gesture. His touch made the room warmer somehow, you felt much better.
"Get better soon alright? I'm sorry about that [first name]. I didn't want to hurt you. From now on, don't hesitate to tell us anything. We're friends now." He whispered in your ear.
You hugged him tighter and slowly nodded. "Okay. I will. Don't worry."
The door was swung open as the sniper stepped in. He gasped at Sanji and you hugging each other. Sanji immediately let go. He glared at Usopp and he gulped. "Hate to ruin the sweet moment. But where's my bag? I left it in here didn't I?"
You handed him the bag. "Here it is. I threw up in it though."
He stared at the bag in utter disbelief. "How could you! It had all my weapons in here." He screamed.
"It'll be fine. I'll make it up to you later at the next island. Now get out. Sanji and I were talking."
Usopp stormed out of the room. "Talking huh. It seemed like there was more action than talking." He grumbled.
A bead of sweat appeared on the side of the reindeer’s face. He stood there and rubbed his head sheepishly. "Everyone's forgetting I'm here..."
